I have a Redmi Note 2 and a Mi Band Pulse, plus I use some Bluetooth headphones (sometime some cheap Chinese Bluedio ones, most of the time Urbanista Boston) also sometimes Bluetooth FM transmitter (BE-06 or something like that). Also, I'm using the weekly developer builds. Since months, problems are this way:
- phone randomly disconnects from Bluetooth headphones. Sometimes is once per 30-60 minutes, sometimes is once every 2-5 minutes. This is extremely annoying while driving or running/cycling. It seems to disconnect more when Mi Band is around, although I am not 100% sure about that. After disconnecting, I cannot connect back to my headphones without turning Bluetooth off and on again and also it takes about 30s until I can turn Bluetooth on after I disabled it. In older versions of the ROM, it would also crash and restart, now it just does not connect (although, by some miracle, in one or two versions it would connect automatically the the headphones). Turning headphones off and on again does not help.
- Mi Band unlocks the phone about 50% of the times (although it should unlock it every time) and also does not vibrate on notification in all cases. Sometimes Mi Fit cannot get the data from the band and I need to turn Bluetooth off and on again
Now, if I switch to Stable ROM, would any of those problems be fixed? Do you have any other ideas (what ROM/which versions) on how to make Mi Band and Bluetooth headphones to work all the time with my Redmin Note 2? Also, any idea if it's hardware or software problem? I might consider to buy another phone and sell this one, if I am stupid enough to buy another Xiaomi (such as Mi5, for example), do they also have this Bluetooth problem?

I have developer weekly rom 7.3 - 6.3.3 and same problem especially with mi band 1s. Mi Fit loose connection and sometimes I can not reconnect even if I turn off/on bt. I realize no connection because after a while I have no notifications for call/sms... can someone suggest us a rom without bt problem?
I have the same issue with bluetooth. It's one of the cons of the phone at the moment. The problem has been around forever, so I don't think there is currently a MIUI ROM that hasn't got this problem.

Not sure if it's my phone or my headset. Occasionally while talking the headset will tell me it's out of range and then reconnect (the phone is usually in my pocket or hand). I'll miss about 10-15sec of the conversation. Sometimes it'll do it repeatedly other times not as often. I don't have another Bluetooth headset to test with. I've had the headset about 8mths and this started happening about a month ago.
Any ideas?

I have the exact same headset and I have never had that problem. I'm on the slimkat weekly 2560. It doesn't even start cutting out until I'm half way across my house.

K. Thanks. I'll look into a warranty claim.
Anyone know how/if different radios could affect this?

Hi,
I would like to share an interesting observation I have also made about Bluetooth disconnections with phone in the pocket.
1) When the phone is in my shirt pocket, and I turn my head to its extreme, sometimes (not always), the connectivity gets disrupted. but unlike your experience, this is only for a secong, and as soon as I turn my head back to normal viewing angles, its ok.
2) with phone in trouser pocket, if I place my hand over the phone same disconet happens depending on which part of the phone gets covered.
Based on these two observations, and knowing that Bluetooth is a short range , line of sight connection, there is something in the materials your clothes include that probably inhibit the line of sight connectivity.
Hope that helps in understanding the momentary loss of BT connection, but not for a 15 seconds like you seem to be experiencing.
cheers

Bluetooth car audio disconnect and connect in cycle
I am experiencing similar issue with bluetooth audio calls in my car. I tried two separate KitKat roms (PSX & Beanstalk 4.4.225) and in both versions, phone bluetooth disconnected and reconnected, it seems like 20 seconds cycle. It would drop for about 5 seconds. I noticed the first it dropped was when the screen turned off. It is impossible to carry on a conversation as it would constantly connect and disconnect. Is this an issue with every kitkat rom?
I have E970.

It must be a KitKat related issue because I didn't have the issue on JB (SlimBean). Thought it may have something to do with the radios. It's intermittent which is a blessing and a curse. I can go a week or two with no issue...then multiple times on a one call (I could put the phone down and make a sandwich if mom is talking...she'd not notice...thus a great tester for this kinda stuff)
I've tried several (if not all) KK radios...no noticeable impact on this issue.
I'm also on the e970.
Note: I'm not losing connection for 15 sec. The headset says 'out of range' then immediately 'connecting'...but it takes time to reconnect and get the phone conversation back. I usually power cycle the headset since it seems more likely to be stable...otherwise it's likely to disconnects/reconnects over and over and over.

Yes, this really seems to be KitKat issue. I installed ParanoidAndroid and it was somewhat better in a sense, it didn't disconnect/connect as often. I do think, bluetooth gets killed when the screen is turned off and then gets turned back on. I can provide with a log file if someone has any ideas on this issue. Definitely I do want to drive handsfree.

Well, I think it may not be kk problem after all because I installed CyanogenMod version 11-20140225-nightly-e970 and I did not experience any issues so far. I will update if I encounter this issue in future.
When I had installed paranoidandroid beta 6, I did not have to install any radios either but still had issue.
For CM11, I did not have to flash any radios either and it is working without any issues till now.
So I bought a g5, and I'm loving it so far. Except for 2 things:
A. I seem to have received a bad battery with my phone, as it doesn't charge all the way on a non quick charge charger, and if I reboot, I lose about 10-20% battery regularly.
B. If I use my Bluetooth headphones (Sony mdr-zx770bn) in a2dp mode, I get random skips and drops of signal. Very annoying when listening to music. This happens with both my headphones and my Bluetooth car stereo. It's not location based, as it happens at work and at home.
I think I may have got a bad phone, because when it drops the Bluetooth signal, it drops both wifi and mobile data as well.
Anyone have similar problems or suggestions? I really don't want to have to exchange the phone, because I ordered it online so it'd be a pain to do.
Sounds like you got one of those 1% failures. Better swap it out!
Definitely.....I have same issue with first phone....now on second and evrythig is good

I have similar problem with A2DP streaming - random drops of sound every few minutes. No problem with other sources (I used many other phones before) . Additonally sound (voice) during calls is distored. This is so annoying. Apart from that issues G5 seems to be great phone.
Did you manage to solve the problem? Swap, other way?
Hi there,
Have the Mate 10 Pro US edition here. I'm noticing that the screen would come on even when it's just sitting there on my desk. At times while driving, screen comes on too. Phone is on a holder.
BT issue - every so often volume would decrease. Not sure what's causing this. But think if I switched from BT to FM radio, with FM radio playing a few minutes - when switched back to BT, I noticed that my volume decreased.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!!!
Might be if u disable pick up to wake it might help with screen on as i found it to be very sensitive, no idea about sound as i dont use the features u describe.
I think when you switch to BT it automatically lowers the volume at first to protect your hearing in case you are using ear buds. Been a complaint on many different phones for a couple of years now. I believe it's an Android "feature".
My phone is now dropping Bluetooth... Then reconnecting... Then dropping it. It happens with my car stereo and my head phones. I reset the network system but it didn't help. I don't know what to check.
It happens to my V30+ as well. My gfs iPhone and my old LG G5 work fine but idk why it does this.

I have had continual BT problems on my V30. The first one I had had constant dropouts - BT usually stayed connected but sometimes disconnected. I got a replacement and it has the same problems, only not quite so bad. BT still drops out for like half a second but it hasn't disconnected at all. Very irritating when trying to listen to music.
Is it better when you disable summer of the other radios such as WiFi, mobile, data, NFC, etc (if you can). Sometimes other radios supposedly interfere with Bluetooth. But I know sometimes it is just because the Bluetooth radio isn't very good. My older HTC M8 had better Bluetooth radio than HTC 10 and would always grab any Bluetooth device before the 10, which was a shame.

Are you using the Tile App? This was really messing with my Bluetooth and causing a dropped signal
I'm not using the Tile app.
Hello,
I'm using Amazfit GTR 2 smartwatch for a month. It's not alerting me when my android phone Bluetooth is disconnected or when my phone is out of range. How to enable this feature or is it missing for this model? Please let me know.
Thanks
Not sure to understand. It can only alert you if the watch is connected in bluetooth to the phone.
You didn't get my point. Let's say you wear the smartwatch and you forgot your phone on the desk and go away from the phone. Then your smartwatch should alert you when it lost Bluetooth connection or it is out of range. I know Samsung smartwatches have this feature. But I didn't find this feature on my GTR 2 watch.
Ok. It used to have this feature but like you, I don't find it anymore on my Stratos2 now. I don't remember if it was a setting on the phone or the App. I remember having using it sometimes back but maybe it was with the previous sw called Amazfit (now called Zepp). I used it for a while but it was always disconnecting and reconnecting as soon as you were going away from the phone. A bit annoying at the end. I stopped using it at th end. One thing also, I have noticed that the bluetooth distance is weak with my Stratos now. i'm pretty sure it was much better some time ago. I don't know if it is SW/ROM related, phone related or smartwatch related. I can easily disconnect as soon I'm getting away (5-10m in the house) but it has difficulties to reconnect. Sometimes, the watch is next to the phone and it does not reconnect for minutes. It might be related to Bluetooth managment from my phone (energy saving stuff, Low Bluetooth energy etc..). What I'm sure about is that my son's MiBand (Miband4) has a much better range than my Stratos, more than twice the distance and faster reconnection. My feeling, but it is not really rational, all this happened when they moved from Amazfit SW to Zepp SW. Again, personnal feeling.
