I know this phone is older and so not many people are still using this but if anybody is and has any advice for my problem that would be great. I posted in the q+a section of the rom but havent got any reply yet so I am gonna try here. I am trying to flash the Dirty Unicorn rom but it will flash and gapps will flash too, but when I reboot it just sticks on the bootanimation and doesn't go any further. I've let it sit for over 10min., I've even tried to go back in recovery and wipe dalvic and cache and reboot but it does the same thing. I am not sure but do I need to have my bootloader unlocked for this? I was on 4.4.2 kit Kat but downgraded to 4.2.2 JB. My bootloader is currently RELOCKED and I am running the ClockworkSenseless rom. I am also S-OFF. I am using flyhalfs twrp recovery 2.6.3.0 the only recovery that would even flash the rom without any error message. If anyone has any pointers to help me figure out why the rom won't fully boot that would help thanks everyone If u need more info about my phone just ask, oh and also it is a ZARA CL Virgin Mobile.

Yesterday my phone started to act up so I restarted it and it won't boot ever again. I wasn't able to get to the recovery either. So I relocked and did a ruu and I updated to the latest version. I flashed amon recovery and started to flash different roms like dev CleanROM and rooted 4.03 stock(I did the root fix and flash the image) . After initial setup all I get was reboot. I then flashed CleanROM 3.7 that is in my sd card. It's working fine now. BTW all flashes were done before a full wipe not with the tool but in the amon recovery. I don't know what's causing the reboot problem. I don't see any topics related to this, there might be some posts related to this. But please link me to me if you can. And also the fix would be nice.
Thank you in advance

What did you have on your phone to begin with when this problem started?
Which RUU did you flash? Sounds like maybe you did GB which would explain why CR3.7 works, and not 4.1.
Something you can try if you want is try the patch that has been posted letting phones on the original firmware run ROMs dev'ed for the new one.
Also check your HBOOT and check those versions.
Also could be bunk downloads of the newer ROMs. Have you tried re-downloading. Might be a good idea after checking all the other things.
Hi guys. So here's my problem. I recently tried to update my phone to the latest version of NRG's Energy Rom using CWM. In the process I did a factory data wipe, and wiped the dalvik cache. I then flashed the rom as normal, but when I rebooted all I got was the white screen with the green HTC logo. It refuses to go any further. I can still get into recovery if needed, and I've tried a ton of different things, but to no avail. Anybody have any ideas as to what I need to do or is this thing hosed?
The phone is S-ON at the moment with an unlocked bootloader.
Any help is appreciated.

Flash the wipe script, flash the rom you wanted, when the phone boots up, let it sit for a few minutes, like 10 should be good.
Well I'll be damned. I could have sworn I tried that, but there we go. Thank you so much for the help.

Also, get rid of CWM and use 4ext recovery. It's in the dev section... And its the preferred recovery by most amaze users. I have a thread in Dev section
It allows you to flash kernel automatically when flashing ROM, that way you don't have to use a kernel flasher. Plus many other features.

Thanks for the info. I've been looking at recent posts and it seems I'm behind on a few things, including getting s-off.
Weird Problem
I had the same problem but I don't want to lock and re-unlock my bootloader. And this has never happened but my CWM Recovery isn't working. I didn't use 4ext bc this happened last time with that recovery. Is there any way to find the wipe script to use it from fastboot?
Tried kernel flashing; re-flashing recovery...second time this happened with s-on on speed rom
Had to re-wipe phone and re-flash everything...Got it working again! Weird problem though?!?!
I recently rooted my HTC sensation and i have now achieved S-off and unlocked my phone.
The main problem is that now if my phone turns off to reboot it I need to go into the recovery and to the command Fastboot boot boot.img. i really need a solution to this because its really annoying to have to use my computer every time I need to reboot my phone especially because im using a CWM and i have a nightly CM rom currently installed
HELP PLEASE
Sounds like something is wrong with the kernel, try to do a full wipe and flash the ROM again

thankswill try that im going on holiday so i will do it when i get back hopefully my phone won't die
ive tried that now and its still not working, i also tried flashing a custom ROM and its still not working.
Maybe try to reflash your bootloader?

I've tried flashing the bootloader and the problems still occurring.
any other ideas?
I don't own a sensation so I don't know this is a common issue, but you can always try reverting to stock and restoring radio secure flags, this can tell you if its firmware/software or a hardware fault
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
is their possibly a link you could provide to help me with restoring radio secure flags or is that restored when reverting back to stock.
plz and thank you

Hi,
Try running a RUU.
Look HERE
Are you supercid?
hello I fixed the problem I didn't use the RUU however because I was really confused doing it.
the way In which I had done it was by factory resetting my phone and completely wiping the data and the cache so I didn't have any rom installed it was just the phone and the bootloader. then I went and re-installed the ROM I had chosen with the CWM recovery. although after I had installed the rom and the G-apps I wen and I opened a command prompt window and used the following instruction:
Fastboot Flash boot boot.img
after this I had rebooted my phone using the code:
Fastboot boot boot.img because I didn't know I had fixed the problem but I had to reset my phone and It just worked so thank you all so much for your help I really appreciate all the help and support given :good::victory:
Hey guys, I need help.
I consider myself fairly adept at handling rooted devices, but I have not been following development for the GS4 for the last several months and have been running the last release of Synergy before their hiatus.
I was going to try out something different. I always enjoyed Beanstown's Jelly 'Beans', and thought I would try Build 7.
Now I am stuck at the Samsug Galaxy Boot Logo and it never goes to the Custom Boot Screen.
WORSE...I managed to break my recovery...so it will not boot their either.
Only mode I can boot to is Download.
Maybe I am just blind but I searched and could not find any Odin flashable recoveries...does anyone have one? Is there a rooted MDK file out there that I can flash via Odin?
Someone please help
Did you do the proper wipes when flashing the new rom? There arent any odin flashable recoveries for the s4. I would probably use the no wipe mdk image to recover (wont lose any user data) since you have no custom recovery to flash something with. Youll have to start over but youll have a working phone at least.
Hit thanks if I helped you out. Doing a little bit of reading goes a long way. Sent via tapatalk.
Yes...I always wipe well when I am flashing. Almost every problem I have ever had going back to the Droid 1 was from a Dirty Wipe. I also tried searching for issues and warnings before moving forward...but did not find anything with my searches.
So just to be sure I have this right...start with this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2301259&highlight=mdk
Then re-root as I did originally
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2290798
Then I can reflash CWM Recovery from Rom Manager? Will it automatically flash loki'd version?
Finally once there...can I just flash Beantown's Jelly Beans Build 7 or do I need to update the radios first? Can I use the just the MJ7 modem from the post below or do I need other parts updated too?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2487298
Thanks all!

Yeah looks like you got everything in order. Rom manager or rom toolbox will auto loki the recoveries. No need to update radios when flashing beans either. Itll already have the radios included unless your wanting to flash the mj7 radio seperately then I believe youll be ok doing that. I havent done alot of reading on the newest radios.

Back up and running with stock rooted MDK and CWM Recovery.
Now to try and flash a ROM.

Thanks for getting back to me! :good:
I am up and running...but with but not with 'Beans' Build 7 ... I have tried everything...and no matter what it stalls at the SGS4 Splash Screen and never progresses.
I thought maybe it was the new recovery I flashed ( CWM Touch Recovery 6.0.4.4) .... BUT I got Hyperdrive to install and boot. So maybe my SGS4 just doesn't like Beans...which sucks cause I ran that almost exclusively on my SGS3.

I downloaded and installed the latest TWRP 2.6.3.0 from DsLNeXuS's Recovery Tools App as Goo Manager is not finding a recovery for my device.

Go here. Get 2.5.0.2
http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/jfltevzw
Instructions
http://teamw.in/project/twrp2/181
At the bottom of the page.
Edit;
Or flash this in recovery
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=45006486
I would reboot to recovery after flashing to make you got it on the right version.
Then make sure you can still boot back to your rom.
Then go back to recovery
Wipe
Factory reset.
Advanced
Check system, Data, davlik and cache
Wipe
Go back to main screen
Install
Fund your rom to flash.

Me too. I tried the [ROM][TW4.3]STOCK-ROOTED-MJ7-AROMA-LOKI'd ROM with CWMR. Wiped Dalvik. Cache, Ractory Rest/Data. Seemed to install fine but then hung at "Custom". Fortunately I was able to a Nandroid Restore but not sure where this went wrong. Finally got TWRP to install after several failed GooManager attempts over the past month. May CWMR is the problem.
Hello everyone
I have S-OFF HTC Droid DNA everything go well Normally available.
After that, I have a big problem with HTC Droid Dna can not boot stuck on HTC LOGO.
I can not do anything with it cannot flash official rom.
Is there any way I can fix it.
Please help
thank you
There is a section called Droid DNA Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting, that would be a good place to post a question about a device your having trouble with. But regardless of posting in the wrong section you haven't provided nearly enough information for anyone to help you.
As you describe the state of the device you should have no problem flashing an RUU via fastboot and fully restoring the phone to a stock like condition (still s-off). My point here is that your going to need to explain exactly what you did to get here so someone can provide you with the right steps to fix your issue.

I trying flash RUU.exe 3.06 , 1.15 but fail
recovery error :crying::crying:
Problem
1.can not boot
2.cannot return to stock rom
3.can not root
please Help
What error are you getting when you try to install a custom rom?
What ROM are you trying to install?
Have you tried re-downloading that ROM?
Did you make sure to wipe cache, dalvik, data, and system?
Root would normally be installed with the custom ROM, if not you can always install SuperSU after you install the ROM, which TWRP normally offers to install for you, or via a flashable zip (http://download.chainfire.eu/370/SuperSU/)
If you have adb tools installed you can also sideload the ROM. (adb sideload ROM-NAME.zip)
Your best bet would be to follow this guild to return to 100% stock. Hope this helps, just make sure to read through the guild carefully.
