Polaroid Mid0738 Tablet, System Being Eaten By Virus Completely, Help - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
OK So A Long Time Ago My Tab Has Been" Automatically Rooted" by itself, I don't know if someone rooted it but it seems impossible Cuz that tablet is hidden on our cab and almost no one is using it, and I'm the only person who is techy guy so Im the only one who know how to root,so I'm unexpectedly happy to see its rooted without doing some they called "Hard Rooting Process" But I am wrong after that day I am seeing that the tablet is downloading suspicious file by itself and also download apk by itself and installing it even Don't install from unknown sources setting is checked, Its downloading some weird app icons and ad icons and more Suspiciously it downloads Sexy Girls Or Naked Girl Pics, It Even Download por* apps so It really freaks me cuz I'm the one they will thought that download it, but after some few days I noticed it that it became slower having some freezes and Also it download APus Launcher without my permission to install it, and much worst is that it post "False News" on the facebook account that is logged to that device (Just Like Kobe Bryan Dies etx.) and in every post it tags all of my friends which result some of my friends and Hating me cuz of that, they wont even believe that im not the one who posted it,THhe tablet was been hide for several months after that I Charged It And Opened It, Seems Fine But The Freak in Annoying Ads Pop Up is there and Also weird notification ads from softwares I even don't have so I checked my device if its rooted just to make sure but it surprisingly become "No root access" I smile for a minute and reformatted my device hoping it became What it looks like when I open it in first time But After I reformat it, Pop Up Ads Appeared Again, Weird apps popups Appearing And Its Pretty Annoying, Also Avg(Antivirus) is detecting Several Apps as Malware But whenever i try to uninstall it, It shows as PreInstalled even tho there is no virus before my android tab become rooted, Xda comes to my mind as i always read to forums that if you have problem to your phone xda is there to help, hope you can help me xda, Pls I want my device to Become Normal Again

[Q] Atrix randomly downloading files?
I was at lacrosse practice today and right before practice I was listening to my music on my phone and then I put it away in my bag, after practice I went over to my phone and for some reason it downloaded an APK with a weird and quite long name, I was curious as I did not give it permission to download anything and I clicked the APK and the app was named "Sexy girls"(Lawl.) so I clicked cancel and deleted the APK off my phone, that was really weird though, does anyone else have a similar issue? I even have Lookout enabled and I thought it would be able to stop something like that, do you think I have a virus? After scanning the results came back clean except on AVG where it said my SuperUser app was a virus, which I highly doubt. Any ideas/comments would be wonderful :] And before you ask, no I wasn't watching any porn on my phone...
Infinite bootloop after CarrierIQ research
O.K. This really freaked me out. After finding a post on GSMArena about someone who had discovered that Google had a keylogger app on Android phones, I thought I would see what the app was all about. I watched the YouTube vid included in the article and thereafter pulled up the app on my phone which showed 0 bytes of info as if it were not installed. No clear data, no force stop or anything. So i thought I'd try to install the thing. Got a message saying that the install failed(which is a message i've gotten with other default Android apps I've tried to install) To make a long story short, i just exited back to the home screen as usual and since it was about time for me to start work and we aren't allowed to use our cell phones at work, I just turned my phone off. When I got off work and turned my phone on-Infinite bootloop of the start-up screen. Had installed Titanium backup and can't get to restore screen. There is something really serious going on with the CarrierIQ app. Any help with this issue is greatly appreciated as it looks as though I may have to buy a new phone.
This is not even slightly a hardware issue. you've posted in the wrong forum. I requested this be moved to general or android. reload firmware.
Yes, reload firmware.
phone help please
hi im new to the forums, having a bit of trouble with my lenovo k3 note, recently downloaded kingroot and its side load app purify, all was good deleted the bloatware that comes on the phone, phone was fine for a few days then noticed still getting random add and spam popping up on my screen, removed kingroot re installed it and deleted bloat ware again after factory resetting, think i may have deleted some more files than i should of, i have since rooted the phone properly and installed a custom rom and super user, hoping this would solve my issues, hoping one of you geniuses may be able to help as ci have only had the phone 4 weeks. most things work i can answer text/ sms messages if i answer them on screen but if i go to the menu then click messages it says sorry the app crashed and unexpectedly closed. play store just crashes as the pic below , the same as root checker and a few other bits. many thanks simon:crying::crying: with me being new here i cant upload a pic yet but can message on request, if i can figure it out
The strange case of recurring malware
Ok first let me tell you guys that i have never seen this problem before and all of a sudden TODAY I saw it in two unrelated phones, one huawey ascend 530 something , and the other one a no brand chinese dual sim note 3 or note 4 knockoff , bot phones where stock , and users dont even know what rooting is, let alone custom roms. The problem was popups , lots of them , some with pr0n ads, others with "security software" ads, some more for games, this popups started as soon as the phone booted, no need to enter a browser or app at all, then it started downloading some more apps with weird names (weird as apparently random garbage names), and some other apps for coupons, games, launchers etc, tons of crap, every time one finished downloading it was asking for which method to use for installation :google verification or something else I think "package installer" that i don't remember now, but that I know both are legit apps from android to install stuff, of course I said no every time but it just kept asking so I figured I will factory reset this because I have no time but he is a friend so I need to help him, but have not much time so I thought that was the best thing to do. WRONG, after factory reset (from settings menu) popups where still there, so I just figured I would do it from recovery screen, and I did, ... surprise, popups still there and also the downloading notifications of more unknown apps, as I said before some of them had names like games or security software, other were just random gibberish, sometimes an app with chinesse name crashed (force stop) , when I saw that the first time I immediately knew it was some chinesse malware crap, ok I guessed maybe the sdcard had something sticky on it , hidden partition or something, so I removed it, and reset again, ... problem persists, oh and let me tell you, this problem showed up immediately after boot, I didn't even have the chance to register a google account, so crap was not coming from a google sync data or or synced apps or browsers or something , well then I had the idea of turning off the wifi and see if they stop, some of the popups opened browser pages and other popups just opened by themselves as if it was from an already installed app. results: the damn thing turned wifi ON by itself to keep downloading their ****y apps, so I just deleted the saved wifi networks, and the damn thing started using the mobile data to keep doing its stuff (it even turned data on). There was only one 2 things left to do, either try to root the phone and dive in the apps to try and remove any suspicious ones, or reflash with stock. Well I had to leave by that time and told my friend i would like to help him, but it would have to be some other time, coz I know how hard it is to try and find a rom for an unknown chinese manufacturer even if I find one, trying to figure out the links in chinesse pages I doubt it would be an exact match (had done that before, so I know its difficult and takes many hours of your time) it had JB on it. Then I arrived to work and a coworker asked if I could help him , it was a Huawei ascend G527-U081. exact same symptoms and behavior, ok so again I did factory resets blah blah erase sdcard etc etc, same results malware persisted, but in this case, it took me less than 5 mins to find the stock rom at huawey support page, downloaded it, did update via sdcard, and VOILA FIXED. So someone who knows more about how could this infection happen can take some time and try to explain me? My uneducated guess is that some side-loaded app or downloaded app from the webpages ads or something like that got ROOT access to the phone internally or even rooted the phone with their own root renamed app, and somehow put themselves in the system partition or the place where the factory apps are installed from, i guess that's why only a full flash fixed it. Could that be it? I hope no one here gets that crap, I have never had any malware in any of my phones and I am even surprised and wonder what people can possible do to get infected that bad, lol, I don't think I could even on purpose, but then again, having an adaway app takes most of the dangerous ads away so no risk clicking them by mistake.
Hi, By any chance did you save the apks that were the cause of this as I would like to decompile and test them under a VM maybe we could take them offline or attempt to get a warning out there.

This is a common thing with Chinese devices. They mostly contain malware. This is why China based devices are not big with most of the world. If is built into their os. You can't really remove it.

Click to collapse To my knowledge it's the one app "pornclub" that installs all those junk applications. This app somehow access the root on non-rooted phones and reinstall automatically even if you hard reset the phone. Removing this app after rooting may be helpful. This malware also appeared in ASUS Nexus tablet and other phones. So it is not linked to some specific make. People who download apps from third party sources should be careful and get them only from sites which display hash info for play store apps. Besides avoid downloading junk porn apps.
I also have a similar malaware on my note5. I did a factory reset and when I checked my chrome I had no ads but when I reconnected to my Internet I instantly started downloading galaxy apps and when I checked my chrome again I had a ad by mgid again. ---------- Post added at 04:04 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:38 PM ---------- I scanned my phone and it said s health was a threat

Click to collapse thanks for the reply. I'll try flashing the existing ROM again and see if I get rid of it. There's also some info on that on https://blog.avast.com/2013/10/23/no-pleasure-from-this-adult-app-only-pain/ edit: It worked! I flashed the same ROM on the phone again and now the phone responds fast again. Which AV/anti malware app would you recommend to avoid this incident in the future - and I don't want thousands of other apps that come along with it (battery saver etc.)?

Click to collapse Actually I use NONE, the problem was not on my phones, I just dont install anything that doesnt come from trusted sources , be it development forums like this , or play store, or other well known pages, what I do USe is an adblocker, most of this malware comes from popups that suggest you install something else, well with adaway i get rid of most of that and have never had malware on any of my phones
hi i am having a same problems which u've mentioned above. ive tried factory reset ,erasing sd card, reboot and all but it doesnot remove totally from my phone.can anyone tell me how to fix this problem and get rid of this malicious app and virus.
I have same problem, i tried malwarebytes and the following was found backdoor.triada.js, trojan.rootnik.ab, trojan.agent.gc, trojan.sivu.rn, trojan.sinu.c, and bct_service app. I click delete and reboot my phone still not remove.
I've had this problem for a few months, but it was mostly controllable. I was too lazy to fix it, but I have a bit of knowledge about it now. I got this when I tried installing a hack mod for a dead game. As far as I can remember, the "bad apps" were netalpha, catstudio(these two can only be disabled), com.google.keyguard, and com.android.gesture.builder (there were more, but I can't remember them). Some of the apps that get downloaded are Lazada, Zalora, Battery saver, Apus, Heathstone, 2048, and Township. I also factory reset my phone a few times, and the apps either lessen or increase... My phone is also Huawei, so I'll just try updating the rom. Thanks for the info ^^

Also experiencing on a Mintt phone I live in a developing country and had few options when I needed a new phone. I have a Mintt phone which I cannot seem to root. The internet here is terrible so I don't have many apps but have had recurring self installing malware that renders the phone unusable until factory reset at which point the whole process starts again. It seems to be attached to the inbuilt browser which I can't remove. It starts with a circle on the screen which can't be removed and if touched opens a warning message that WhatsApp has a virus. I don't have WhatsApp. Then chrome tries to install. I don't use chrome. Then the messages become so frequent nothing can be done but factory reset. Any help would be much appreciated!
Samsung GT-N8013 Stock ROM full flash help? I was wondering if I could get a walkthrough on how to find and do a full flash Stock ROM for my android tablet, similar to what you describe here. I have had this tablet for years, but years ago, I think I got some malware, and anything I've tried over the years seems to be unable to get rid of it. I've followed many times the clearing cache from pwr/volumn up boot menu, and factory resets from same menu, yet everytime it starts up for the first time, it loads and updates several apps, then when it fully starts to home page, there is always a "lucky try" app. I can't remove this app, and there are extra settings apps too, and the official google apps don't update properly. All in all it's very fishy, and I would like to try what you are talking about, with a full flash reset, but I have no idea how. I'm at the point where if I totally brick the thing, I'm ok with that. It is pretty much useless and has been for years anyway.
The only way to solve this problem is to flash a stock or a custom Rom.
Need help badly please not even sure if im in right thread if im not im sorry
So a week ago my galaxy s7 edge from ATT thats now on straight talk was hacked somehow very badly and not even 2 hours later so was my whole home network which was my desktop my laptop and my sons tablet. I have all the things i need to rid whatever vile thing/person/persons that infected me home network wise but my phone is a different story i was told by a local phone shop i could factory reset it using recovery and it would prolly fix the problem but as soon as i went into recovery and seen the little android guy i instantly got booted out of recovery and went right to my lock screen and quicker then id ever gotten to it so i restarted my phone again in recovery mode and instead of seeing the normal android recovery stuff i was greeted with about 4-5 swirling circles for about 2 mins then it took me straight to a blue screen that said odin and it immediately started to download something i had to hold the power and home button down for like a good 45 secs before it finally powered off. When i turned it back on it thankfully went back to my phone but i no longer had control of anything my radio band had been switched i couldnt access any of my folders like gallery, music, videos etc. for like a good 30 mins and i was denied access to google play store and i couldn't make or receive a phone call or a text for like 30 mins then my phone restarted itself 2 times on its own and when it came back on after the 2nd restart i could access my files and google play but the only browser i could use was Chrome. Dolphin which i have set as my default and have used for almost 2 years now without a single issue and the stock Samsung browser would force close on me soon as i opened them and alot it was in chinese like home icon and tab icon etc. and i had like triple the apps running in running services then normal and alot of the normal android system apps you would see running had a 2 at the end of the app name now and i couldn't do anything with them as far as force stopping them or disabling them and not just system apps either but normal ones too like my camera or memo app and the ones i could disable which was very few came right back undisabled and running as soon as i did it. I downloaded 3 different apps just to be thorough to see if i was rooted and all 3 said i wasn't but yet i could go into my files app and go all the way in my recovery file system and see my /sys/ priv-apps folders and others too im pretty sure a non rooted phone would never have access too and i also seen a directory named fake libs and a directory that had a bunch of apps for listening through the mic and turning the front and back cameras on and live broadcasting apps and an app for logging of every keystroke i made and lots of crazy txt files one of the txt files said downloaded mobicore hidden apps and the list of apps looks like they downloaded a whole repositories worth of stuff i was told by another local phone place that the first ones i talked to were idiots and even a full factory reset wouldnt fix anything and id need to flash it or have it flashed if i didn't know how which costed 90 bucks that i didn't and still do not have so i transferred everything i had access to and wasn't denied from to my sd card and did a full factory reset which actually fixed my radio band problem i can now make and get phone calls but still cant text and or receive them even thought straight talk has fixed it on their end like 4 times now so today i decided id try and learn to flash and flash it but was told if it was rooted and i did it a certain way id screw the phone up completely and if it wasn't rooted and i did it a certain way the same results would happen. I actually downloaded win rar and went back into the recovery system directory and the sys/priv-apps/ section and /fake-libs/ section and took like 16-17 screenshots of like only a 10th of all the crazy stuff apk wise and txt document wise that was in there id seen and rar'd it up so i could email it and post them along with this post but every email address i tried to send it to immediately sent me an error email response back saying it didn't exist or the person was not allowed to recieve emails even my own email account that i was sending it from because i thought id send it to myself and download it off my computer but soon as i sent it to myself i got the email doesn't exist error email i also tried sending it to a friend in FB messenger but messenger would force close on me every time id click on it to send it and at the moment i can still access my FB messenger but now can no longer send a message it sends out but never changes from the greyed out check mark so the person on the other end isn't receiving it i also tried calling people this evening but every call i made went straight to busy signal oh also the screenshots are still sitting there in my screenshots folder and i can access them and click on them etc. but im now denied access to win rar i go to click on it and it says access denied and google play says the same thing once again so i cant download another archiving apk and the RAR archive i made to begin with that was in my screenshots folder is gone now just disappeared like that and if i plug my phone into anything to try transfer them that way it says that my s7 edge is not equipped for data transfer but i can unplug it plug it back in and try to transfer a normal picture or an mp3 song or something like that and it will transfer just fine after about a 10-15 second hang/wait time. All i know is i want my phone back from these A-holes and i am willing to flash it just downloaded the newest odin and got the stock ATT android 7.0 rom but im at a loss after that as i do not understand the whole if its rooted do/don't do this or if its not rooted do/don't do that stuff plus seeing as how 3 different apps off google play have said it isn't rooted but yet i have been as far as the folders right before my boot sector and can see hidden system apps and a crap ton of /0/ folders and stuff and somehow have odin for a recovery even though the first time ive ever even been into recovery mode in the almost 2 years i have owned it was when i tried to factory recover it the first time a few days ago and if they have control of my phone like this and i do need to root it how would i even accomplish it without them stopping me?????? Please help me i'm tired of not having control over my phone and being listened too watched and logged by whoever if they might just actually be doing it since i seen the apks and such with my own eyes so anyone that may have any info advice tips or can help me in any way please please please do!!!!
Okay so from first : 1. You say that when you tried to go in Recovery mode it comes blue screen with Downloading text written on screen . So instead of Recovery mode you went in Downloading mode , so that problem is wrong key combination . Right way to enter in Recovery mode is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BxJis11Ze3U and if that didnt resolve the problem , download Smart switch and do this : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9QhJngOuLQ4 Good luck
