Hello,
I wanted to buy the Oneplus Two and the main draw is the fingerprint sensor. I was wondering as to how well does the fingerprint sensor work? As per this particular page not very well http://www.technobuffalo.com/videos/oneplus-2-fingerprint-sensor/
Not the best fingerprint sensor ever. Its so sensitive to moisture and its a known problem to all OPT community. Sometimes fingerprint breakdown due updates . random stop working etc. I dont suggest you to get OPT for the fingerprint

On lollipop 2.2.1 it's slow, non responsive and not accurate, but on marshmallow I would say it's comparable to the iPhone 6s In speed and accuracy. I'm not sure as to durability because I have yet to break mine

I'm happy with the fingerprint sensor on OPT. I have a iPhone 6s+ and like both of them, especially the fingerprint sensor.

On the lollipop build the finger print unlock was pretty mediocre. You needed to have your finger in exactly the same position as when it was scanned for it to be able to read it.
I'm on the marshmallow beta and it's far superior now. There's much more leeway on the angle it will accept, it gets you to roll your finger to different angles when first scanning so it's much more like the experience you'd get on an iPhone 6.
Comparable with my iPhone 5s which I left for a oneplus2.

Just buy the phone everybody who has had a problem with their fps complains. The scanner works great under normal conditions it does what it supposed to do unlock your phone? But make sure you update to oos 3.0 it's freaking fast?.every once in a while something breaks in a phone. So if it stops working under normal conditions rma the phone like every other phone you and I and everybody has had ?

The fingerprint Sensor is awesome! Works super fast everytime i use it
I've had no real issues with it. I'm using OxygenOS 2.1.1. Works just as good as TouchID on my iPad Mini 4 (though I can unlock with FP without having the screen on on my +2)
I can only comment that the Fingerprint is working great here, worked fine for me on CM13 and even better (personal feeling) on OOS3.0. Yeah when my finger is wet it sometimes declines it but this rarely seems a big deal since you still can unlock it by code if it should happen.
So overall,
Great Fingerprint experience here :good:

If your just looking for a phone with a fingerprint sensor, get the Honor 5X...it's cheaper, has a full metal body and I believe you can assign different fingers assignments upon unlocking the phone.

my fps is working well, no problem at all
The truth: in oxygen 2.x (lollipop) is not fast, not slow either, and not so accurate. And every time it become less accurate, and you have to reset the saved fingerprints and replace them for new ones. (This is not happening in marshmallow).
In oxygen 3 or h2os mm (marshmallow) its super fast and it always recognize the finger. I only have one failed attempt in 2 weeks (since I installed h2os mm) not kidding, its working perfectly.

Works fine for me. No noticeable different from a Galaxy S6 which I came from. It might be a little sensitive but that's not really an issue for me.
I don't know what people bashing the fp sensor on the OPT are talking about. As with any piece of technology that doesn't have IP99 rating, you have to handle it with care and keep it from getting wet. Also, as with any fp sensor, you have to register your fingerprint correctly. If all of this is the case, then the fp sensor in the OPT is quick and reliable and a joy to use.
It's not really a 'system seller'. It's nice to have and works alright. I have yet to get through the summer though. I recently had problems when sweating (I carry my phone in my jeans front pocket). And I'm not talking dripping with sweat here. Mere evaporation seems to be an issue for the phone. Then again - if you use a case, put the phone in your jacket or whatever, you probably won't encounter such problems.
Pre 3.0 it's a mess frankly. Get used to a nexus 5x/6p/iphone/s7 and it grates. Post 3.0? Comparable to the best of them.

I wouldn't say faster because there's a longer animation on the iPhone. Physically if you put your finger for the same time on the OP2 and Ip6s it takes a shorter duration of touch for the 6s to be unlocked - more like a tap. So with no animation I think the 6s is still faster but the OP2 is leaps and bounds better on OOS3 over OOS2

And : The fingerprint scanner of the OnePlus 2 is great! It is actually faster than the iSh!t's (iPhone's) fingerprint scanner! I have not got any problems while scanning my thumb! It responses quickly! There are many rumors about the fingerprint scanner. Do not believe in them.

I'm not sure why you feel the need to swear - you can give your opinion without foul language.
I also happen to disagree with you about the fingerprint scanner. The scanner on the OP2 is definitely better than the one on the Note 4 and faster than the one on the S6. But is it better than the iPhone 6 plus? Not really. I use both phones a lot. The scanner on the OP2 is probably faster but it is also a lot more sensitive to things like dirt / oil on your finger. It is also slightly less reliable.
Just my view.

Question 1 isn't entirely accurate, I've seen many people complain about this device heating up too much. These FAQ threads should stick to facts rather than opinions.

Ok so I've had enough of sammy phones. now i am planning to buy opt to be honest this is the only phone in my view right now.
but i read a lot about "home" and "fingerprint" not working or stopped working in few weeks or so.
i have a two questions regarding opt.
Should i buy this smartphone? If so why?
Is fingerprint and home button issue related to software or hardware?
its a good phone for the price. Development and updates are gonna come soon now, so you almost picked the perfect time. My fingerprint and homebutton has always been working fine and all I did was unlock, root and install some kernels for now. I think the problems are hardware related though. To be honest. If you can affort it, definitely go for a nexus 6p.
Sent from my ONE A2003 using Tapatalk
im planning also to get this device, im confused if the 1+2 or the Redmi Note 3 pro.
It depends if you want a clean stock Android interface go for opt, if you want miui then go for mi note pro 3.
I personally would go for opt.
Sent from my ONE A2003 using Tapatalk
Avoid it. I sold my OPT after 6 months. Fingerprint doesn't work as soon as any moisture touches it. No real developer interest - looks at the threads to see all the devs who left. The price used to be a great draw until the Nexus price drops. And at the end of the day, nothing will fix the SD 810 which is an overheating mess. It just doesn't work.
If price matters, get the N5X. If you want the best phone right now, get the S7 Edge.

unless you get a used one on swappa or ebay for a deal, don't get it. I sold mine, Oxygen OS is terrible and even though there are custom roms where FP and LAF work, they are buggy. Wait for the Oneplus 3 or settle back for the original Oneplus One.
Love my OPT bought it in october and dont understand all the hate. Great overall experience. I ise exodus rom no bugs at all. But again all user choice. ?
Nexus 5 over heats way more than this device. fp and laf works perfect for me (only tested cm13 and exodus, though)
It's a great device, just buy it and dont think about it. The fingerprint Sensor is working awesome, much faster than the iPhone one. With the 3.0 update everything runs buttery smooth
I'd say it's really a gamble if you're buying the OPT since their tech support is flaky at best. The hardware specs are reasonable for the price and there are some good devs out there like Lord Boeffla and his kernel, however you will also have huge issues if your phone develops hardware problems. For example - some owners have setup a twitter account recently to badger Oneplus as they can't get any response from the local and official support channels after encountering hardware issues. I'd suggest taking the Nexus 5x instead as it is around the Oneplus price range and LG is a much larger and established company which will take RMA and support issues seriously.
my oneplus2 just arrived
I gotta say OS 3.0 on my OPT made the phone a million times better. Everything is super fast now and FP is even faster. Better life is much better now with 3.0. Before the update I wanted to throw the phone at the wall for all lags

Won't suggest, better to go for a lower powered phone instead for the price.

Exactly my expreience as well. With the OOS 3.0 beta it's like a completely new phone. It doesn't get warm at all, the performance is actually what you would expect from a Snapdragon 810 and the battery life is what you would expect from 3300mAh. It was always kind of held back by the ****ty software but with the 3.0 beta working really well and official cyanogenmod on the way, I can't think of a better phone at this price.
I've had my OP2 since they were first released, and have to say I'm still really happy with it. As mentioned by others, OOS3 (and the recent CM13 builds) have made performance 10 times better, and have no major complaints. Never had any problems with the home button or anything else. It's a steal at the price, imo
Don't buy it. Unless they've changed their design around the home button/FP, its going to fail.

Based on mine failing as well as a crap ton of others on this forum and oneplus community forum in the past month. I've raised this with OnePlus and they brushed it off, however they are RMA'ing my phone.
Trust me, I tried all the software tricks none of them worked for me.
I have to buy this phone and I am on a tight budget. Recently there was an offer on flipkart so I decided to go for it and accidentally I went into comment section which was filled with negative review.
My question is:
1) Finger print scanner working good? Even if it takes like 2-3 sec to recognise it's good for me. There many people wrote that it completely stopped working
2) how is the battery life with constant data usage ?
I would really appreciate if you can clear my doubts.
Thanks in advance!
Fingerprint is quite good with 16s August update. It is acceptable now.
Battery life is not so good. But it will last you for a whole day if you use it moderately. (I am sure you won't use it moderately when the phone is new.)
I would rather wait for Google device or go for One Plus 3 as it is slightly better in most respects and has excellent 3rd party ROM support from XDA community.

Are you it is'nt the VoLTE HD call setting in Dual Sim & Mobile networks? I had the problem with all my calls disconnect, the issue with that VoLTE HD call is set from factory is that far from all carriers support VoLTE.
Would that be? Cause some parts seems to work just fine... Is this region bound maybe?
But if I force only 2g or 3g instead of 4g, the issue still occur, wouldn't volte automatic should disable?

This phone is a beast, the hardware versus price point is quite competitive. The fingerprint scanner is working fine with the update...though it still misses it maybe 2 times out of ten, meaning i give the fingerprint scanner an 8/10. Battery life is average, for a non-gaming user you can do just about a day. but for a serious gamer and 4G user, about 3/4 of the day or less. the battery for me would be 5/10.
Then there is the issue with the camera. The camera app is crap. it struggles to maintain focus and in video mode during recording it can not auto focus. Using 3rd party apps helps but I feel a firmware update should be made available to address this issue at the core. I would give the camera performance a 6/10.

Shut up, for this money you can't do better. And a big portion of all the negative reviews when the phone came to the market were employees from firms like Xiaomi, Meizu etc. That's how Chinese firms do business, they have no code of conduct.
Fingerprint scanner has its quirks but nothing off-putting at all. It should be better from what I read above in more recent ROMs. Battery honestly is amazing. I can lay this phone down at night and get up the next day and it only has lost a couple of percents. A great step up from my Note 3.

I have the same problem, can't receive calls and can't dial out. When you go to settings -> mobile settings(donno exactly, but you'll find it) just where u see ur sim(s) etc.), you can't change settings when u get called (just call urself and try it out), so the phone DOES receive something. I'm gonna try installing another ROM to see if it fixes the problem, should i update you? Or did you already fix it? Thanks.

Hi I have it,
Fingerprint works in 8/10 times, that's not fast 1sc I would say and if he stops working you must do the calibration and it will work again.
Battery, well 5.7 QHD , 3100mah there isn't no magic, I would say 3,5 sot.

I just had my Moto g4 plus 64 stolen, I've used Moto G' for a few years now and they're brilliant, running stock android and no need to root.
I just ordered an unique z pro from eBay after watching a few YouTube reviews who all thought the phone was brilliant, now after looking on this forum there are a few saying do not buy.
If you have one, are you happy with it with official software? (I don't plan on routing a new phone)
I haven't receive it yet and am beginning to regret the purchase so it may have to go back!
I was looking at the Moto Z play but this is £130 cheeper.
I received mine from Gearbest five days ago. I also read all forum topics and was skeptic about the phone, even thou made a video of unpacking it.
First of all - the phone is absolutely brilliant - I have NONE of all problems people talking here: battery life is good - more than 5 hours with display switched on, apps orientation is fine, display is perfect - no scratches or anything else, my SD card working just perfect.
I got the phone with V3.01_20170321 ROM, 2 days ago it receives the v.3.01_20170408 as OTA update - NO problems at all.
Charging is slow, even using standard charger (I usually charge my phones while they are connected to PC).
Sound of the speakers is gorgeous, loud enough.
The phone is using pure Android which is good.
The camera is simply outstanding.
Also NO problems with Wi-Fi or 4G(LTE) - in my country Bulgaria all mobile operators are using 1800MHz for 4G. The coverage and the signal is on a maximum level.
For the money I've paid - this phone is super!
Thanks, have you got a link to your video?
I didn't upload it. The video is for my personal use - in case something wasn't OK when I got it, it would be easier to claim for money back or replace the phone.
More or less I can report the same. So far after a week, I have no hardware or software issue with the phone. Seems to be working as advertised. The only issue I had was with a few applications which simply refuse to run, but I didn't dig further to see why they FC. If intending to run it with no root and unmodified they it should be perfectly fine. Even though the os is AOSP based, I'd still prefer to have the possibility to run anything I'd like, such as Lineage for example. When it comes to charging, Im not sure what should be classified as slow or fast, but I think the phone charges in about an hour if I'm not mistaken. And one thing I'd like to see improved is the final quality of photos, since in the preview everything seems sharp and detailed but the captured photos seem somewhat pixelated for my taste but on the other hand I haven't explored that much the settings. In general it appears to be a good phone.
I have my Phone since a Week.
Very good sound
Good screen(thank's to Sharp! Real good Japanese quality)
The hardware is perfect
I received the Phone with V 3.01_20170321
I had some problems with the OTA Update 3.01_20170408:
- had to reset and recalibrate the gravity and compass sensors. Easy to do
- I had more problems with the radio 3G/4G. It lost a lot of times the GPRS connections and the modem had very big difficulties to reconnect it back on network. I can partially understand, my provider share his networks and frequencies with an other provider. But no excuse for Umi(digi ) i had never problems with other phones. Umi have to follow clearly the established protocols and do more tests !!
I reinstalled the firmware with flashtool with full formating. Since, it seems ok.
In all cases, I'll waiting a few days before I authorize the upgrade on Nougat(as soon it coming )
Some good non-sponsored reviews: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g6UAkAU02cU&t=0s
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=49Bxa2Sy9Ck
I think those cover the bases pretty well.
One note is that the wifi radio is worse than my nexus 4 which is pretty sad. Wifi is really important.
Overall I'm happy with my $234 phone but it's definitely not the 'best budget phone.'
Disappointed with the Camera
I have a Nexus 6P and in comparison to it, Umi Z Pro fails in every aspect in terms of capturing images.
The camera on Z Pro is quick and it doesn't have similar focus as 6P.
But the image quality is okay, they hyped the phone for camera but I think that's not what they implemented.
Built quality is excellent, for a phone of this budget and stock android experience is a plus, no bloatware is a bonus.
I bought the phone regardless, my only regret is I can't get 4G data, as the bands are not supported.

I have had one for about 2 months and I can't see why others are saying not to buy one.
It is well made, reminds me of a galaxy edge in its design. I have never had any software problems with it. The screen is nice and it is responsive.
The 4g in my area is hit and miss, and the UMI z Pro doesn't do as well as my previous phone (Lg G3) for getting a 4g signal, but it drops to using 3g where the 4g signal is weak so not really an issue. I would say that that is the only negative thing I could say about it, but it is no deal breaker. Remember that it costs hundreds less than Samsung, LG etc's flagships, and in my opinion, it is well worth buying.
I am looking forward to the android 7.0 update, which should be soon.

The first impression is very good.
Super design and the hardware is top for this price class.
So far (almost) everything works perfectly.
The camera still has certain weaknesses.
That was with my UMI Super already so.
The focus does not seem to work properly.
The photos are very blurred/cloudy.
Only in bokeh mode the photos are good.
I hope UMIDIGI finds a solution and fixes this problem with one of the next updates.
Okay...got mine yesterday....
First impressions are good, but without making any changes to the stock ROM some apps are not working (maybe CPU or ROM related, i have to figure that one out in the coming days....)
For instance Firefox Browser didn't work for me (FC) but uninstall and reinstall seemed to do the trick. Also MX-player Pro tells me: 'component files are corrupted or android internal modules are not compatible with current version'.
ANother thing is that i can't manage to get it working with my Samsung Gear S watch ...but i think i'll find a way after some research...

Sadly I might not. I have until the 11th to initiate a return. If nothing changes with the fingerprint scanner it's going back to Google.

Thats another point I don't like, the capacitive on the back was perfect, even with the swipe gesture.. the one on the front is just anonyin with this footprint.
To be fair though, in screen fingerprint readers have been notoriously finicky at launch for most phones.

False. I'm going based off experiences with other scanners I've used in the past. I've had the Oneplus 6T, amongst other 1st generation optic scanners they worked better out the box unlike the P6. I like the phone don't get me wrong but people need to stop making excuses for this fingerprint scanner. It performs poorly or not at all.

I've used the OnePlus 6T since launch. (And still using it.) There *were definitely significant issues with the optical scanner at launch as well. And people complained and OnePlus pushed out updates, and it eventually became much more stable.
I'm definitely keeping it. It's superior in every way to the OnePlus 9. Far better hardware and experience than the Pixel 5. While no phone has been perfect for me since the OnePlus 6, this is about as close at it can get after installing Ruthless launcher.
Absolutely! I'll be selling my 1+9 and keeping this phone. Happy I made the switch thus far, not gonna look back. Will be excited to see tensor evolve as time goes on in this ecosystem.
Op6T being referenced as a good scanner. There's a first. That said both it and p6 perform ok for me none better than the other even though p6 scanner should be 3 years newer.
6T was used as a reference since the previous person stated all optic fingerprints are bad out the box. That's false. Hence the reference.
Oneplus 6T
Vivo Nex S
Hell even the Nokia Pure View didn't perform this bad out the box.

Exactly the point I was trying to make. OnePlus 6T at launch was a significantly worse scanner than it was after they pushed thru some software updates. (I didn't say it was good. I just said at launch it was much worse.) Pixel 6 has only been out for 2 days. I would expect to see the usability increase.

Totally agree.
i'll probably keep it just to get the android updates first (this is my first pixel), but im not super thrilled with it so far... maybe some software updates will make it better.
Things im not impressed with:
- In screen fingerprint scanner is very bad for me.
- Random reboots
- not impressed with sound quality
- no gesture to turn on flashlight?
- no beep after saying 'hey google' when it is ready for input.
---update Fixed this. Settings > Accessibility > Voice Access > Switch on Use Voice Access.
- No face unlock
Other than that, I like the looks / feel / speed / display / wireless charging / free earbuds
I'm also disappointed regarding the display (feels cheap, weird color shift depending on the angles), really poor optimisation considering the hardware. My OP6 with a custom kernel had pretty much the same smoothness and my OP8T with Neutrino is miles ahead. I was hyped with a12, in the end it's bot so good.
I will keep it for the community, the official support and the camera, but I gotta say i'm overall a bit disappointed.
I have traditionally used Google phones. There have been a few Motorola's in there. I'll definitely be keeping it.
My only issue with it is how slippery it is.
When it comes to everything else, I think it's perfect.
I have a case coming in tomorrow.
Pixel 6 Black.
