Problem with detection of SIM Cards - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello xda community,
you have always helped me solving my problems, but now I have a problem that isn't solved (or at least I couldn't find).
So I have my Lenovo A536 for like a year. I flashed many Custom ROMs, but always turned back to Original ROM, because of bugs.
Yesterday I decided to flash CM12.1 Stable and it said that there were problems so I reflashed and repartitioned mmcblk0.
Whatever after like 15 hours or more I given up and decided just to flash stock rom the way I've always been doing it (Using the exact same zip every time and SP Flash tools). After I flashed it and started my phone no sim card was detected. I tried to do whatever I could think of, but nothing worked.
TL;DR: After flashing CyanogenMod12.1 and turning back to Stock Rom my phone didn't detected my SIM Card.

[Q] No network on custom ROMs

Hello everyone, after a lot of desperation I finally decided to create a topic discussing my problem.
Few weeks ago, I decided to change ROM in my i9100 to SlimBean, since that moment I have been experiencing variety of problems. First problem came directly after flashing SlimBean, my phone was suddenly SIM locked. After some time, I managed to unlock it (or atleast I think so). Also, I went back to stock ICS ROM. Everything was good, but you know.. Stock is stock. So I went throught the forums and checked for some ROMs. Since I found that CM is finally stable, I flashed recovery from their thread and continued in flashing ROM itself. Everything went smooth, after few moments I was booting into CM. When the booting finished, I found out that I have no network signal. I checked the IMEI, it was correct. After trying few things, I decided to try another ROM. Same problem, no network available. I went back to stock ROM, network is working. I have tried various versions of stock ROMs, from 2.3.6 all the way up to 4.1.2. All stock ROMs run without a problem, once I go with custom ROM, no network is available. Any hints?
I believe I have the same/similar problem. I have spent hours playing around with different things (changing modems/kernels/ROMs) and nothing seems to work. I modified my nv_bin file in the efs folder recently to unlock my phone (the unlock code no longer worked). I did this from within a stock 2.3.5. When that worked, I installed a back-up I had of 4.1.2 (Resurrection Remix v3.1.2) and everything was still fine. But when I tried to upgrade to CM 10.1 or Resurrection Remix v4.0.7 (or CM 10.2 nightly), I got no signal and couldn't locate any networks. When I went back to the Resurrection Remix (Android 4.1.2), everything was fine. I've installed various ROMs between my i9100 as well as my i9505 so it's not a matter of not installing them correctly. As far as I can tell, anything past 4.1.2 doesn't seem to like the edited nv_bin file. This was necessary as it's a carrier model from Chile and I wanted to be able to use it with other sims. Reverting back to an unedited nv_bin is not an option.
I ran EFS Professional and repaired my nv_bin file with 4.3 installed. With the carrier's sim, everything is roses. When I insert another sim, I get the network unlock prompt. Although I do have an unlock code, it doesn't work anymore (and hasn't for a long time). When I revert back to the edited nv_bin file that I had backed-up, I don't get the network unlock prompt anymore but I don't get any signal either, regardless of the sim card. I am able to see my IMEI and my phone finds the access point for whatever sim I install but it can't find any networks.
Anybody have any ideas?

[Q] Can't connect to camera (deep sw problem)

Hello,
I have been googling and reading all threads about this issue for over a month now, so it's problably something quite special. Every time I try to use an app using a camera or flashlight, it reports with "Can't connect to camera" message. This first happened while trying to flash a Kitkat rom (Artas's CM11) with wrong recovery. So it was not working, I got back to system, flashed the correct recovery via flashify, got back to it and finally flashed the rom. Ever since that the camera has not been working, with one exception - now this is the interesting thing that makes me think it's not a hw problem - while trying to do all kinds of unbricks and resets I know of (flashing all kinds of different roms, CM based, AOSP, of course all kinds of original roms) I decided to go for KDZ - so I got the original bin I found on this forum and got back to v10i and the camera worked! So I was happy that it's solved and decided to stick with stock rom. It updated to JB (the official way) and ever since, it has not been working. I have tried to flash persist images, to mess with permisions and I can't really think of any other way. (Of course I have tried to flash KDZ again the same way, but it did not work, not even on ICS).
Thanks for every idea!

Need help please!

Hi everyone. I'm having some serious (or at least I think so) problems with my I777. I live in Colombia, and I bought it over two years ago, had it shipped over by a friend, unlocked. Up until today I'd been using it normally, without any major problems.
However, the last couple of days it started behaving strangely, (turning itself off every once in a while, losing data, etc), so I decided to update my rom today.
I tried to install a new CyanogenMod 4.4 from this site, but I got some kind of status 7 error and it didn't behave properly after that.
Next thing I did to try to fix it was flash a stock JB 4.1.2 rom via Odin.
It worked, but that's when the major problem struck... Apparently my phone got locked for AT&T again or something. It's not recognizing my sim-card anymore. It shows the "no-sim" notification on the top bar, yet it also shows it has a signal (no data, just phone signal), even when my sim-card isn't inserted. When I go in the settings to try to access the mobile networks it says insert sim card even when it's in there.
I did a lot of searching and I used GalaxSimUnlock, which I got from this site too, and it confirms my phone is unlocked.
So basically... What the heck happened?? Is it possible that after three years of using it perfectly with my Colombian sim, the AT&T lock just "came back" or something after flashing a stock rom?
Any clue guys?
If you used galaxsimunlock the unlock is permanent.

After you flashed back to stock, did you try to root again and flash another custom ROM?
I could be wrong on this, but the AT&T stock firmware may not be giving you the choice to register the SIM or change the APN settings for you particular network. I can't confirm this though as I never flash to stock long enough to actually use it. I always root and go back to something else immediately afterwards.
The only suggestion I have is to go back to a custom ROM and try again.
If you are trying to go to KitKat, be sure you have the newest compatible recovery (CWM or TWRP) as the versions of those that work with JB will not allow you to flash a KitKat ROM. There are plenty of threads that will tell you what versions you need. If it's an SGH-i777 model then all you should need to get the proper recovery is to flash one of the two KK compatible kernels as the recovery is packaged with them.
Good luck!

No Cellular on Custom ROM

I had my s2 hard bricked and now i got a new motherboard for it, the thing is that on all stock roms (2.3 and 4.1.2) the phone works perfectly but all the custom roms 4.4 5.0 6.0 the cellular does not work, it gives me no service, tried flashing modem from cwm but no change.
i also tried different recoveries etc but custom rom no service
sometimes in custom rom imei used to be blank but it comes back after reboot, in stock no issues at all
any idea what im doing wrong or is there something up with the new board?
thanks,
Update
I was searching and I read somewhere that installing NeatROM by Sale will help, i downloaded and installed it, the good news is that cellular works and i have full 3G access.
Question: How to proceed further?
i could experiment but the thing is that if i flash a non-working rom (no cellular), i will have to flash stock from odin and start all over again
any ideas?
Update 2
i tried NeatROM and it worked perfectly, then i tried installing slimLP and boom, no service again, this time,my IMEI was blank too, so now i'm flashing stockrom again.
any idea anyone please?

Maybe someone had the same problem or have an idea to solve this problem without flashing stock rom?
I tried to restore all my backups, flashed firmware, clean flash, switched sim Slot 1 and Slot 2.
Downloading Stock Rom right now an will flash it, if there wont be a solution.
