Sony Mobile is committed to supporting the open developer community, and one way to show this is by publishing parts of our code as well as selected tools developed by our internal developers.
For some of the Xperia™ devices, we provide Android™ Open Source Project (AOSP) device configurations on GitHub. This means that the software will be open for you as a developer to use and contribute to. This is a way for us to support the open Android community, and it is also a tool for us to facilitate and verify contributions to AOSP.
If you want to build AOSP for your unlocked Xperia device, you find all the resources you need in the sections below.

Question, will there be a kernel 4.4 for the Z5P?
Or is there a "guide"/link to where/how to build your own for the Z series?
is anyone going to work on a android 8.0 or 9.0 for sony z5p E6853?

Hello respected developers,
We all now know that cyanogenmod has successfully been able to develop for Mediatek Devices by building official CyanogenMod ROM for Android One (MT6582) device. Now I want a help if anybody would like a new student.
I want to port this ROm to my Intex Aqua i14 which is also a MT6582 device and has Android 4.4.2 which is almost AOSP.
So can anybody guide me so that I can go ahead with my project I am intended to move ahead with?
Millions of thanks to the helpers.

The porting process is very easy but the tricky part is that you need to find ROM's with the SAME specs and with the SAME chipset
You''ll need Cygwin and Anroid Kitchen
You can follow this guide http://fabosums.blogspot.co.at/2014/02/port-any-rom-to-mtk-device-in-5-mins.html
Good luck and let me know if it works :good:
Android one got its kernel source released, and so the developer was able to successfully build cm11/from source, and fix all bugs
Most mtk phones don't have kernel source
Also android one's boot.img is apparently different from normal mediatek boot.img format
Anyway, cm can't do much about it
Ask your respective devices developer to build cm for it, if he can
Sent from my A1 using XDA Free mobile app
Did you ported the ROM ??
Sent from my Starmobile up using XDA Free mobile app
Hi,
How we can get CM14.1 for Z2? There is nightly builds for some 2012 Sony devices. But there is not for Z2.
I'm soooooooooooooo waiting for it
Hope cm developers figure it out quickly
Wrong section m8
I am agree too
Waiting for CyanogenMod 14.1
Please try, thanks
CM14.1 have come very old Sony devices (xperia V, TX and etc.) But Z2 still wait in cm12.1. How can we request cm14.1 for our device?

Wait until AOSP become stable, then when the bugs get fixed, maybe then we can get cyanogenmod easily.

Or, things should get easier if someone is willing to build an UNOFFICIAL CM14.1 build and then report himself to CyanogenMod to make him the OFFICIAL maintainer for Z2, then we will be able to get official CM14.1.
Hi Devs,
Is it possible to port Xperia X rom to our device. It has same processor SD 650?
In Xperia X thread i have seen Nougat system dump. Can we use it for our device?
Check this https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/development/rom-xosp-rl7-rev2-t3553884
ohhh XOSP i know... but those are lineage or CM based rom and lots of bugs...
Like 100% sony rom? I think it's impossible. Because some part of OEM ROM feature is closed source.
not exactly 100% rom. but it might be useful to get some features like Data connection(as its not working properly in XOSP rom).
So that we can have near to bug free ROM.
