I had to send my v10 to LG for warranty repair. When I got it back in the mail it had been updated to latest mm 6.0. I got the bootloader unlocked using root methods posted but can't get twrp to flash using standard adb. Is there any possible way to root on this software version?? If not I'm gonna have to get another phone can't stand no root. Screenshot attached shows my software version. Thanks.
There is currently no method to root on the official 6.0 update. Unfortunately there is also no way to rollback to LP.
You're stuck with a lot of other good people who are waiting and hoping for someone to get this figured out hopefully soon... Including those with the tmobile version of the G5.
The general idea and hope seems to be that the method will be the same for both and it will be found/released soon!

Don't accept any otas once you are rooted and unlocked. There will be a pretty good chance that the ota will have a fix that will break the root and/or unlock.
Actually, you can freeze "com.lge.lgfota.permission" and "com.lge.omadm.client" in ti bu. That will prevent the ota notification.

Okay I thought that would be the case, just wanted to double check before that came out. So do you think that it would be all good to install if I just locked the boot loader back or would I need to completely unroot my device as well?

Pretty sure the ota would just unroot and lock your phone unless you are on a custom ROM.
Sent from my LG-E970 using Tapatalk 2
That's what I was thinking too because my last Android phone before this one was the Galaxy S2 Epic 4G Touch and every time I installed an ota it would remove root.

You can't accept an ota because of custom recovery and the unlocked bootloader; otas will fail to apply and you'll be suck rebooting into recovery until we fix your misc.

[Q] How will we know when it is released?
Other than keeping an eye on the media, how will we know when it is being released for our phone?
Is there a preferred site that we should be monitoring?
Will LG release it before AT&T tries to send it OTA? If so would it not have all the bloat that AT&T likes to add?
That's enough questions for now.
Thanks for answering...

Has not been officially released just yet, but it's floating around out there... Just got released in ARHD 20.0 (20.1 is their current build now).
Been using it bug-free, so far... worth looking into. You can find it in this forum.
No we haven't got the 4.5.3 update yet
The HTC ones in IFA had the 4.3 update
There can only be one, the chosen ONE.

But it's still alive today, and for it's time a well made phone with piss poor support from HTC.

Yes the G2 can detect if you have full root with the LG Rootdector. From my understanding you can flash back to stock and all Indication will be removed. I haven't tried that myself so I can really say if it true. But again I also don't use warranties either. That's what I pay insurance for ☺

have couple a questions for whenever they push the 4.4 update...
1. as i am on T-Mobile, and the phone is AT&T will i get the OTA update and be able to install it?
2. as the phone is unlocked now, if im able to update OTA, will i lose the unlock, or will still have unlocked phone that i can use on T-Mobile?
3. This one im pretty sure about... my phone is rooted, after updating it to 4.4 i will lose root correct?
Thanks to all that can help with those Qs

You will not be able to do the update if there is one which I highly doubt there will be I know there has been rumors but its not likely if your rooted you'll need to unroot cause it'll trip Knox's and cause issues as for doing the update you'll need to borrow a Sim from someone with at&t and then it'll update or manually do it through keys I am developing a recovery for the i527 to be able to flash 4.4+ Roms look for my threads in development for the mega

since you're rooted, you will never receive any update via ota from at&t.
if you really want to regain update via ota from at&t, you have to unroot, return everything back to stock.
or you can just download the update from sammobile and manually update it with odin, but there's a chance that you might break root.
if you sim unlocked by using an unlock code, then i think it should be fine and permanent.

been waiting on the 4.4 as the ROM sizes supposed to be smaller, and the new compression format that you can choose from the developers options so is no more Dalvik would help free more RAM and speed up the device...
the kernels and radios would be updated aswell, making it possibly better battery life and stronger signal aswell...
hope they push it by the end of the month

Yes, that is some indication. But it comes with a caveat :
"Important! This list may be altered as updates are confirmed or released."
OK, unless they're rolling back the version machine this is just a shell. But it does tell us something in the works.
device.sprintpcs.com/LG/LS990-SPRINT/LS990ZVC.rdf
Now, 2 possibilities: Some sort of urgent fix for both the G3 and G4 (since they both now have one in the oven) is one.
Second one is that the fluffy stuff - already reported on LG's own site as in the works - is coming.

Could you please elaborate on the fluffy stuff? BTW the ZVC.rdf has been out there for a long time, almost as long as the last update for the lg g3. See the following http://device.sprintpcs.com/LG/LS990-SPRINT/latest still no release though.
P.S. I'm hoping that it has something to do with boost mobile hopefully adding the g3 to the approved devices list.
I'll just stick to speculating it's the monthly security updates LG said it would start doing. Shame Sprint will drag their feet so it won't really be current. Oh and Monthly or so updates are gonna be darn annoying dealing with rerooting and all that jazz.

The ZVC RDF was posted around the 17th of October. Almost 3 weeks ago, so it's not am old RDF. They have not changed barely anything in the RDF since the initial release, and ZVB was listed the same way, and it was still 5.0.1. The only important thing the RDF shows is that someone at Sprint is working on an update. Who knows what version the actual update will be.

It's not the G3 but it is 6.0. Being that the current firmware for the G3 is ZVB let's assume that 4.4.2 listed on ZVC is just because they haven't fully updated the rdf page. I don't see why they would release 5.1 instead of just skipping it for 6.0.

Lots of self supporting going on there. I wouldn't be so confident. But, you, know more than I, clearly, about some stuff.
the readme in the source says download 5.0.1_r1 source and merge. thats the same as zva said, i believe. and the ZVB Build is using build LRX21Y which is somewhere between 5.0.0_r7 and 5.0.1_r1. hmmm
