Manual camera support - OnePlus X Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Why isnt this phone compatible with manual camera control? I am running cm13, the stock oxygen os camera does have manual control, so why isnt the app compatible?

This screenshot tells that our device does not have manual control which means camera 2 API is not implemented. Manual control is more than just controlling iso and exposure.
What we have in oos is just app level manual control. Same thing is there in CM13 with snap camera, you can see "ISO control","exposure","white balance" in menu.

Well no actually, the stock OOS camera allows complete manual control over the cameras focus, aperature, etc. OnePlus uses a camera driver in the stock OS that they haven't made public so while it has manual control, no other developers can tap into it or use it in their roms.

Full control of camera

Does anyone have full manual control of your stock camera app? I saw an article that lollipop allows full manual control of camera. If possible, any way to enable?

Unfortunately no, you can check it with Manual Camera Compatibility app. This may change in future updates. :fingers-crossed:

hydrogen os camera,(easy apk install) camera2 api,

here we have the hydrogen os camera from oneplus x, its got great basic features with full manual controls if you have camera2 api enabled , tested on cm13 by santosh rn3pro and works great, im using it for stock camera
i cant take any credit, as i just found it on the internet, while looking for a new camera app that i liked, without to many unneeded advanced features, hit thanks though if i helped at all
all credit to "STRATEGIST" for the build,
on the link below you can download either version, both seem to work great if you find a difference let me know, i tried them both but only quickly checked them and they seemed the same,

There's is a separate post in the guides section. Which explains how to. This is for the snapdragon/pro variant. I can't say for your version of miui yes or no. But there's a post just about that. So that would be the place to ask
Found here

Good sharing, but i can't use manual setting. I've enabled camera 2 api, Manual camera, proshot and open camera works flawlessy, but with this i can't set my exposure time and iso. When i try to change vales, black screen, does'nt FC, but camera turns to black images. So black photo. Possible that have lost libraries?

I notice the manual iso doesn't allow for full control. It works fine with shutter speed set to manual and manual iso. But when set to auto shutter speed. Iso adjustment doesn't go high enough. Leaving u with a very dark screen unless u use manual on both iso and shutter
Here's a photo moving my hand fast with .5s shutter speed and 100 iso. The values on manual iso/shutter need adjusting for this device but when both set to manual works great. I'm not a software writer so I can't. I could try but is that safe haha wonder if @TheStrix would wanna use this on the official cm13 build. Few adjustments and its a perfect stock camera. With the camera2 api functions

AZ camera for Oneplus X

I came to know that AZ camera works only for the devices which have camera 2 api and I have Sultan's cyanogenmod build running up so are there any ideas to port that camera to be running up with the Sultan's camera library which is said to be able to capture high res pics and manual controls.
And also pl specify some manual camera apps that function completely with Sultan's camera libs.
Thanks in advance....
Snap Camera HDR is the only camera app I've found that functions completely with it. Complete manual control (including manual focus). The only thing it doesn't have that I would like is a long exposure option but honestly it doesn't work in Camera FV-5 anyways.
Try bacon camera. It have all manual control, like iso, ev, wb, and shutter speed

I'd recommend the Bacon camera too, it's great! It has manual controls and the pictures are great with it.
Our camera only supports the camera 1 API. Sorry
Are there any methods of getting raw camera support through any app?
Bacon camera has a raw option in settings. Could anyone get that to work with sultanxda half and cm?
We will never have RAW support on OPX.
Nor nougat and VOLTE by the way.
Just deal with it !

"Nor Nougat" Lol like oneplus will ever push software updates again. That's what we have the XDA devs for. Now go get yourself a custom ROM lol.

In fact I was wrong on one point :
Some devs have suuceeded in bringing raw support for OPX in an app. It's rudimebntal for now, but freedcam opened a breach...

What are the best Camera apps for the Redmi Note 4 right now?

Hi, new user here. I have finally managed to unlock and install a custom ROM (RR) on my Redmi Note 4. I'm not satisfied with the quality and features in the default camera app. Can you guys get me updated on what's the best camera app for this phone right now. I'd like to have manual controls (at least manual focus) and good HDR.
I have tried the ported Google Camera but unfortunately it doesn't have manual focus and frame rate seems to be locked at 60fps.
Ofc it does have manual focus, what are u talking about?

AFAIK Google Camera does not have manual focus. It only has tap to focus.
If you're point n shot guy then Google Camera Mod with HDR+ is the best
if you like to play with focus, iso, shutter, etc then stock Camera Mod is quite good, you can also try One plus camera and of course open camera and freedcam.

But correct me if I'm wrong stock camera mod is only for miui rom. I will check out the other ones meanwhile.

Stock G5 Camera APK?

Hi
Ive put Lineage 15.1 on my G5 but have now realised that it would be very useful to have the stock G5 camera app to install on here.
Does anyone have an APK from the stock ROM I could use?
cheers
mike
If this was available would it work on my Pixel 2? Though the Pixel camera app is great, particularly the auto mode I do miss the manual settings of my G5 and the other apps with manual settings have been a shadow of the G5..

Original G5 camera APK doesn't work on Lineage and other ROMs which are not based on the original. That's the reason why it's not included in Lineage/RR/Xenon/etc...
The G5 camera is completely proprietary and it doesn't have any source code available. That's why it's very hard to adapt it to different Android version like Lineage or even to a different hardware, like the Pixel 2.
For both, if you need the manual controls, you can install Open Camera: it's an open source app that provides full manual control for photos and videos.
It's quite far away from the original app in terms of user interface, stability and it requires a very good implementation of Camera2 API to enjoy full manual controls (in Fulmics, Open Camera doesn't see the second rear camera, while in Resurrection Remix it can't record videos at [email protected]).

I've tried open camera and it does leave a lot to be desired compared to the G5 app, hence why I was after it
