Yesterday my one plus x (no root, no changes, factory device) turned off on its own and now it won't start. It doesn't acknowledge charging. I tried factory reset using hardware key combination but that doesn't help either. It's like my phone is dead. No led, no nothing. No booting. What do I do?

Today I was running a full titanium backup of my rooted S2.
The process stopped halfway trough (slightly greyed out screen, and no response).
I held the power button down for some time to turn it off. Turned it on right after and it showed the galaxy S 2 screen with the warning (rooted phone).
It didn't boot from there, so I tried to turn it off and on a few times.
As it didn't boot, I removed the battery and reinserted it. After this, the phone doesn't turn on at all.
No key combinations work. No download mode, no recovery and no normal boot. Tried with/without SIM/SD charger etc.
Any advice or just send it back to the shop?

Post should be in Q&A
Usb Recovery jig may get you to download mode .
As the phone is rooted warranty is void .

Is your phone locked to a particular carrier?
If the jig doesn't turn it on, then it sounds toast, hardware issue maybe, and if it doesn't boot, they won't be able to tell that its rooted so you should be able to get it fixed under warranty.

Hi guys,
I tried to unlock the bootloader of my Nexus 10 before rooting it. Unfortunately, it didn't work and I can't use it anymore (I either have the "Loading X" forever or a dead droid while trying to go to the recovery mode).
I'm used to do that kind of modifications (only on Samsung Galaxy S and S3 though) and I don't know what I did wrong (but I usually flashed with Odin).
Anyway, I used this tool (after enabling the usb debug and allowing unknown sources) : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2001868
I installed the drivers on my PC (menu 1 in the tool), then I could see my device in ADB MODE (in the tool menu). I tried to unlock the bootloader (3rd option in the menu) and it was written completed. My device reboots and nothing happens. I can access the fastboot mode (is it the download mode ?).
I have Odin.
Can someone help me to get a working device ?
Thank you very much.

Easy fix. Get to the dead droid recovery menu and then press all 3 buttons on the top. You will get into the blue recovery options. Choose factory reset.
Sometimes unlocking the bootloaders scrambles a few things on this device and it goes into boot loop. After the factory reset, you'll be fine. PM me if you still have issues.

Okay, thank you very much. I didn't know I had to press the 3 top buttons again after the dead droid screen, I thought it failed loading the Recovery Mode.
I have to setup my account etc again so I guess it is safe to say it worked.
Additionally, I tried this method after the recovery : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2015467
and it worked fine. My device has an unlocked bootloader and is rooted.
hey if someone could help me im stuck myself, after i had the dead android in recovery mode i tried to flash software with the toolkit in fastboot and now when i go to recovery its just a blank screen till i hold the bottom combo again and it takes me back to fastboot

Hey,
I'm having the same problem. I get to the dead droid instead of recovery and tried hitting all three buttons again but it's just looping again.
Any ideas?

It sounds like you didn't actually perform a factory reset. The key combination to get into stock recovery from the dead android screen is Power + Vol-Up. That will bring up the option to factory reset.
So if your powered off or bootlooping, hold the Power + Vol-Up + Vol-Down until you're back in the Bootloader. Use Vol buttons to select Recovery Mode and tap Power. When the droid w/ the Red "!" appears, hold the Power button and quick press the Vol-Up button. This should take you into stock recovery. Select Factory reset. Reboot. After a few minutes, the device should boot normally.
Good luck.

Ok found a video showing that when you get to that part where there's the dead droid (the red !), you don't press hold hold all three buttons but tap them until the recovery screen shows up.
So finally did that but I still have the same problem.
My initial problem was, I received my N10, open the box, turned it on and it started freezing and rebooting. Can't get past the wifi step.
Tried hard and many times to finally get to enter my gmail account, etc
Updated to 4.3, problem persisted so I figured, maybe the factory flashed a bad rom?
So I unlocked it, rooted it and tried flashing older stock versions, same problem.
Tried flashing CM, same; PA, same...
Tried deactivating location service as suggested elsewhere: same; uninstall chrome: same
Even CM withouf GAPPS wouldnt work
So basically, I have a $500 brick. Completely useless as it freezes every 30 seconds.
Decided not to return the device because although I am Canadian, I live in SE Asia and had a visiting friend bring it to me. Way past the return period and the overall experience would be a real pain in the butt... Don't know what to do. Really hoping Kit Kat will solve it but I have doubts.
What do you think?
Sorry. I don't know enough about these things to give more in depth troubleshooting advice. I just recently got my N10 & unlocked it and based on your original post, I thought that's where you needed help. But it sounds like you got past that and got it unlocked.
Have you tried downloading a factory image directly from Google and installing that? If it's locking up on a fresh install of any ROM, it very well may be a hardware issue. You may have to file a warranty claim if possible.

Hi,
I tried rooting my S3 I9300 this morning and it seemed to work, but when I tried opening titanium, it said my device wasnt rooted properly, so I tried rooting it again but my phone is now stuck on the 'downloading...Do not turn off target!!' screen. My computer, Windows XP 3, wont recognise the device when I connect the usb cable.
I have no idea what to do from this point on.
Thanks for any advice.
Press and hold the power button until it switches off, boot into recovery and factory reset.
If that doesn't work then flash a stock rom with odin.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to reply to my message. I was unsure whether turning the phone off during the 'downloading...do not turn off target!!' screen would cause any damage. As it happens, the phone seems to be fine. Thanks again.
I doesn't want to start..... Only shows battery icon when charging.

I am experiencing the same problem...i believe they call it a boot loop where the start up screen never dissappears to bring you into the actual op. system. Is the only answer to download new firmware or is there a hard/factory reset that does the trick? FYI My computer doesnt recognize the device even when plugged into my mac via usb cable. I tried all I could find on key combos and unlocks for resetting the device but none of them worked. This is the second time this has happened. The first time was an easy factory reset fix pressing both the volume + button and the power key (or was it the volume -? I cant quite remember) for 15 seconds then wiping cache and data and restoring to factory defaults. Why is this same action not working this time when performed in the same way as I did when I fixed it the first time?
Please help, anyone, if you can.
Thank you.
It sounds like you might have tampered with the rom, or something you downloaded tampered with it. That's the only way I can think of as to why the factory reset would not be working. Other than that, potential hardware damage is possible. Before I help, I need to know what model of Digital2 tablet you're using. If you still need help with it, that is.
Hello, guys
I upgraded my z2 from 5.1.1 to MM. It's existenz v1.0.0. It worked good. I wanted to downgrade to Lollipop 5.1.1 . I entered TWRP and restored the ROM that I saved before. I press "reboot system" and then It totally backed out. It can not turn on. I pressed power + volume up, it didn't vibrate. I tried, tried... many times but it didn't work. I use the flashtool to downgrade. When I pluged the cable and pressed volume down. The red light just flashed, flashed and flashed and nothing happened. What is that problem. Can I save my phone anymore. Plz help.
Sudden death.

Have you tried pushing the red button for 5 seconds under the microusb cover flap to completely reset the system?
Does the device get recognised in the DeviceManager, if so have you installed the correct developer.sonymobile[com]/downloads/drivers/xperia-z2-driver/ drivers for it? (you could also try it on ubuntu)
Are you sure your connection / cable is good?
Have you tried to boot into theandroidsoul[com]/sony-xperia-z2-flash-mode-54084 flashmode? (volume down), does it get recognised then?

I tried the ways you showed me. Sadly, it didn't work. The cable I use is OEM. I connected it in flashmode to flash. It didn't recognize. The red light of the phone kept flashing. Maybe, my phone is completely dead. Thank you for helping me.

Ah, this doesn't sound too good. The good thing is that the flashtool works, but since it doesn't help you may try a method called "test point". But if you decide to do it, be very careful not to touch anything else with the paper clip (if you touch the small component with the metal surface there will be sparks coming out).

My phone is LB. The battery was about 60% plus at the time of restoring the LP Rom. I pluged it in to charge, but the red light kept flashing.
