Hi everyone I am posting this thread to seek some help on how i can get my root back to my SAMSUNG S7 Flat.
I've tried searching threads on how to do it but i was unable to find the exact firmware with the same CSC version for my device.
I'm afraid that i could have my phone bricked if i flashed the firmware having different CSC version.
Can anybody give me a hand to fix this? I'm attaching all my phones info for details.
By the way i rooted my phone using CF root and lost it probably because of Samsung's Security Update.
PDA Version: G930FXXU1APD1
Bootloader Version: G930FXXU1APD1
CSC Version: G930FOLB1APD3
I had the same issue. I flashed the firmware with different csc and rerooted.
then after some time I lost root again

Hello everyone,
I recently got an upgrade though T-Mobile (in UK) for a Samsung Galaxy S2. Its simply awesome, but I'm a newbie to the Android OS. Hence I have very less knowledge as to what is happening with the android OS rooting, updating etc.
So on to the main topic, I got my phone (model GT-I9100) on 2.3.5 and the base band is I9100BOKJ1.
I would like to remove the T-Mobile branding and the other software which there installed have it.
So could someone please guide me though how I could root and update my firmware to Standard samsung with out the carriers crap installed and still use the phone with my carrier?
My phone is unlocked by default as another sim card works from another carrier.
Could someone walk me through step by step as to how i could root and update my firmware to standard and unlock the device Any help is much appreciated.
I have attached a screen shots of my x#1234#
Thanks.

Hey guys,
I'm a real noob at roms, rooting etc but i followed a tutorial on Youtube which lead me to root my phone using Odin and Superoneclick. I have no idea what this did as i didn't notice a difference on my phone but now ICS is released for my Galaxy SII which is TmobileUk branded. However, when i check on Kies, it says New Firmware Is Available but when i click Firmware Upgrade button then nothing happens. When I click Firmware upgrade and initialization under tools i get the error GT-I9100 does not support initialising. When reading on forums i found out this is because of me rooting so i searched on how to unroot Galaxy S2 but everything comes up with Unroot and installing Stock Kernal etc but i am not sure if i have installed a kernal but i can remember i put XWKDD file in ODIN.
Android Version: 2.3.3
Baseband Version: I9100BOKF1
Kernal Version: 2.6.35.7-I9100XWKDD-CL161513 [email protected] #2
Build Number: GINGERBREAD.BOKF3
and i have no MOD VERSION which i fugured is for a rom.
When typing *#1234# i get these versions:
PDA: I9100BOKF3
PHONE: I9100BOKF1
CSC: I9100TMUKF1
I have read some posts and found UK Tmobile have BOKF3 etc from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1113928
but i do not know what todo with it.
Also i just installed an app called Ginger Unroot which has unrooted my phone so if i need to root or do anything can you explain please and will any of the steps wipe my phone (apps, data etc)
I really need this help
Thanks in advance
RE
Im real desperate
What most people do one they root their phones is install ROMs based off of the official release. It's like getting the release, and guaranteeing root access. I think that's a better way. You have more freedom. Otherwise, you can upgrade and pray that Samsung doesn't release something that breaks your rooting capabilities. Check the forums for a ROM based off if the official OTA update and install that. If you have a custom recovery installed, (Which you should have if you rooted correctly) add far as I know, the update won't work.

Use thanks if I've helped you
RE
Hey there thanks for replying Can i find out if i have a custom rom or kernal as i dont know but i did unroot by an app called Ginger Unroot and checked with basic root checker which confirmed that i no longer have root access but the error still comes up. So if an OTA Update is released, then can I download that?
Hello guys.
Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300
I was wondering if anyone could answer a few questions for me. I rooted my new phone using the toolkit method from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1703488 and now i am confused about the firmware versions, and if the kernel was changed and such. I forgot to check all these versions before i rooted the phone,so have no idea if these are the original ones.
My phone is bought and used in Denmark, however the firmware suggests it is now a uk version looking at the country code could this be correct? If i look at this http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=3&model=GT-I9300&pcode=HTD&os=1&type=1#firmware my AP/PDA number is the same, but the CSC number is different,is this normal?
this is apparently the stock samsung firmware for my phone PDA:I9300XXBLH3 CSC:I9300HTDBLH1 from the sammobil site, and after root mine says PDA/AP: I9300XXBLH3 CSC:I9300NEEBLH2
I would like to know if this is normal? Can i use the 4.1.1. jellybean (2012 October 4.1.1 PDA:I9300XXDLJ1 CSC:I9300HTDDLI1) on my phone using odin to flash it? Or do i have to find a firmware with exactly the same numbers as my current ones?
I am afraid i might have done something wrong, however everything works, and root checker says i have root access, and superuser is installed on the phone,if the toolkit has "updated" or changed my firmware/kernel to a uk one, does it matter?
Also, after root my phone now shows up as Galaxy Tab in utorrent, but it is still I9300 in my windows7, why is this?
Did toolkit 5.0 save my original rom/kernel/firmware before rooting? If so,where?
I would be extremely grateful for someone to easy my worrying
Thank You

Hello guys. Yes i'm a noob and i have tried desperately to find the info out myself but i'm getting myself SO confused, i hope someone can help me out a bit and clarify a few things for me.
I have a SAMSUNG GALAXY ACE GT-S5830i which is a United Kingdom model phone unlocked to all networks but it was getting very worn and tatty so i went out this morning and purchased a brand new SAMSUNG GALAXY ACE GT-S5830i phone (identical model) however this one came supplied as locked to the o2 network and is o2 branded on all the startup/shutdown screens.
I figured i could simply re-flash a stock firmware to it to lose all of the o2 branding and return it to the standard Samsung startup/shutdown screens (and possibly unlock the phone to all networks during the process but i'm not that bothered about doing that as it doesn't really matter to me)
On the handsets I have gone into SETTINGS> ABOUT PHONE> and the details are as follows:
Model Number: GT-S5830i
Android Version: 2.3.6
Baseband Version: S5830iXXLK1
Kernel Version: 2.6.35.7 [email protected] #1
Build number: GINGERBREAD.XXLK3
...and these details are the same for both the old phone and the new o2 branded one.
Now then, here's where i'm at: when i do things i'm not only doing them to get to the 'end goal' but also to learn and educate myself along the way, but so much of the information out there assumes that you already know what they are talking about or is just too confusing as it doesn't explain enough. I have gotten myself very confused lol.
I want to be able to 'de-brand' the new phone so that it is just like the old one, and to do that i'd like to understand what i am doing a bit more, like the baseband version and build number (XXLK1 and XXLK3 are bpth quoted in the 'About Phone' menu) and i don't understand what file i should be downloading as all i can find is labelled as GT-S5830iXXLK3 so would this be the correct firmware for my handsets as i thought they were listed by Baseband (which is XXLK1 not XXLK3 but the bit in the phone's build number says XXLK3 even though the actual phone's Baseband says XXLK1) can you see why i am confused? lol!
I'd like to be as sure as i can be prior to flashing so i don't make any silly mistakes.
I have:
KIES software,
USB Drivers (i think)
ODIN v3.07 software,
Standard Samsung supplied USB cable,
Windows 7 32bit.
Can anyone help me to understand why the firmware sets are in several split files and help confirm which firmware i do actually need for the baseband type of my two handsets.
I'm also intending to make a backup of each phone prior to flashing so i hopefully do not brick any devices. Maybe i could even read the firmware of one phone and flash to the other? Perhaps i'll just stick to finding a suitable stock firmware and keep it simple
Any help, information, education is all appreciated, and i hope as a noob to the forum i haven't breached any set rules with this post (i don't think i have but you never know!)
Kindest regards,
Drew
United Kingdom.

read my thread or signature.
I have loaded KIES and got some more information:
On the older SAMSUNG GALAXY ACE GT-S5830i (unlocked to all networks) it says: PDA:LK3 / PHONE: LK1 / CSC: LK1 (BTU)
On the newer SAMSUNG GALAXY ACE GT-S5830i (locked and branded o2) it says: PDA:LK3 / PHONE: LK1 / CSC: LK1 (O2U)
So clearly i can see the difference here between the new phone with it's o2 network branded firmware, and assume that the only thing i need to change over on the new phone is the CSC part, which ODIN looks like it can do by simply adding a new CSC file in.
Anyway, i went to the SamMobile Firmware site and have downloaded:
GT-S5830i - United Kingdom - BTU
PDA: S5830IXXLK3
CSC: S5830IBTULK1
Version: 2.3.6
Date: 2012-11-23
...which gives me a zip file named: S5830IXXLK3_S5830IBTULK1_BTU.zip
Here's where i just got more confused lol... the thread you pointed me to gets a bit confusing as lots of people are posting allsorts on it, but am i right in thinking once i have that file i just downloaded i go into ODIN v3.07 and just add that file into the PDA section and then untick all the boxes? This seems a bit different to some of the other Odin instructions i have read where they say tick certain boexes and do this, do that etc...
This way seems to be involving reflashing the PDA, and PHONE sections maybe? Am i not just wanting to flash CSC parts? I am SO confused now.
Can anyone help clarify a little more? I can't quite see how you make a firmware backup using ODIN before proceeding to actual flashing. I'd like to make a backup first before i do anything

if you want only the UK one, search on sammobile.com, u might find it!
why do you want stock rom?
you could install firmwares of other countries but u "might" face network problems!
backup your imei via galaxy toolbox app if you do so!!
u could flash a custom rom!!
Hi, got an old S3 and I'm handing it down to my son. It's been a great phone and is still in perfect condition. It's currently locked to the Three network UK, but I want to use it on a different network (unlock it), remove the Three branding. (Flash a stock firmware) and I'm quite happy to leave it on 4.1.2
Branding: Three UK
MODEL: GT-I9300
AP: I9300XXEMD2
CP: I9300NELK2
CSC: I9300H3GEMD1
ANDROID VERSION: 4.1.2
BASEBAND: I9300NELK2
BUILD NUMBER: JZ054K.I9300XXEMD2
I have rooted several Android Samsung phones in the past and know the procedure (although can't get my Note Pro 12.2 wifi 4.4.2 rooted) :crying:
Questions:
1) Will flashing to a stock UK firmware unlock it to all networks?
2) Based the above information, which firmware would you recommend? When I look at the firmware section theres always seems to be several UK versions but none ever have my exact numbers on them.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks
Nemo
1) no, only buying an unlock code will work on that firmware and you can't downgrade.
2) Any stock UK firmware will work, only the model number i9300 need be the same.

Thanks for the reply Boomer: just to be certain, are you saying it has to be a firmware 4.1.2 or higher that I would have to flash? Could I install 4.3?
Regarding unlocking to any provider - could you explain how the lock is made please (genuinely interested), I have already asked Three for an unlock code anyway.
Thanks again
Nemo
The efs format was altered to prevent downgrade or free unlocking, 4.3 will work but earlier than 4.1 won't.
Network lock is a switch in efs, encrypted and can't be patched anymore.

If you are one of the lazy ones that didn't upgrade from 4.0.4 you can dump the EFS and search through to find the code, because the EFS wasn't encrypted and could be accesed by a HEX editor.
Thanks for the replies, much appreciated.
