so i'm from Lebanon middle eastern country and bought lg v10 and it was H960A the Czech one
and after lg released the unlock tool for h960A i updated and tried many times to unlock it with no success it gave me service unavailable please contact administrator
so i knew it was because i'm not in Europe
and the solution is to be in Europe ( virtually)
and this can be achieved by using VPN
from your phone you can install from the play store a VPN app that can connect you to European servers like Germany etc... except France we don't need France because it can't be unlocked if it is from France
i personally used TunnelBear because it contain Germany VPN server
you can download it here https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tunnelbear.android&hl=en
so install it and register and connect to Germany vpn and enter the lg developer page and sign in and enter serial and device ID and they will send you the unlock.bin file to your e-mail
it worked for me don't blame me if it didn't work for you
I will try it

Hi,
It worked for vip57 because he has a Czech phone. If your phone is not a European V10 I'm quite sure it will never work unless LG changes policy and supports unlock for non-European V10s.

Not necessarily. Your IMEI was registered for a phone intended to be sold and used in Czech Republic/Europe. So if has a phone which is registered for a non-European country it might/will not work though he is connected to the LG page via VPN.

I thought if it is meant to be sold in europe the model name is H960A if no the model name will be another letter
As far as I know H960A is the international version of the V10 and not only the model number for Europe.

Hi Folks,
Just looking for a bit of advise. I have messed around with rooting and unlocking my phones in the past. I have always just followed guides here or youtube etc so not really having an clear understanding of the potential pitfalls.
I have imported an LG V10 from South Korea and overall am very happy with it. However for some reason it seems to be locked for international data roaming.
Can I get past this by flashing a UK or European firmware onto this phone when they become available ?
What device ID's or Radio's do I need to match etc or basically what do I need to watch out for. This phone can't go back to be repaired if I break it so want to make extra sure its worth it.
Thanks in advance for any help
Cheers
Chris

why you are saying "locked for international use"
Korean variants are free for international use. Tell me your problems

it always depends if fm chip builted in S808 inside your variant it was phisically enabled or not
i always wonder why manufacturer would add more work physically disabeling something that just do a commong motherboard and then just lock it on the software side or not.
is there an adroid app that could find/see what chip is on my version? (considering it s installed or not)

would be interesting if you set it to true , you get the fm on

Ok so long story
I bought an imported LG600S from a guy on eBay who had imported it directly from South Korea I believe direct from SK Telecoms.*
This phone appears to be unlocked for any network here in the UK. *I am using a 3 Hutchison sim in it at the moment which I get calls and LTE speeds. *I have also tried a UK Vodafone sim in the phone and that works fine too.*
My problem appeared when I went to Paris France. My contract gives me unlimited data even when roaming abroad. *However in France the phone would not allow me to switch on data networks. It gave me the warning message which I have attached. *I click the accept tags but still the slider for data network was blocked (grayed out) with a message saying I needed to contact Mobile T Roaming and gave me a link to a South Korea customer service centre . *I tried to call it but obviously I don't speak Korean *
I have tried an unlocking service called unlockscope who gave me a number of codes for my IMEI number. *However none of these codes worked as the phone does not prompt you for an unlock code when you swap sims. *They also gave me a few number strings to put into the dialer to try and force it to ask for a code, however these didn't work either. As an aside the unlockscope company has offered me a full refund and we're very good at trying to trouble shooting my issue. *
So now I am a bit of a loss as to what to do next?*
I need international data roaming for work but can't figure out how to unbarr it except maybe for flashing a different *on the device firmware to get round the block.??*
All help gratefully recieved! **

Yes you can BUT.....
yes you can but your radio problem will not solve i flashed H900 and H960 firmwares on my v10 (f600s ) every thing wifi blah blah worked except the signals there were no signals and in about network status it shows "radio off". you can only flash dz in your v10 download kdz of mentioned models and convert them to dz via kdz tools and then refirbush.
WARNING>>> I WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING HAPPENED TO YOUR DEVICE. I DONT HAVE ANTIROLL BACK PROTECTION ON IF YOURS IS ON YOU MAY KILL YOUR DEVICE.

So, its mean still possible to cross flash/convert from korean variant to international, all working except signal?
Or, can I flash with another korean varian? For example now I have V10 LG U+ (F600L) to V10 SKT (F600S)? How to do?
Thanks

yes you can test if u want at your own risk I also had f600s and now I am using the latest nougat firmware downloaded from here "https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v10/general/lg-v10-f600l-f600k-f600s-android-n-7-0-t3611676"" use the f600k version it works for me each and everything worked perfectly for me.
1. download the kdz
2. use kdz tools to convert it dz format.
3. use lgup to flash (it will not say invalid kdz)
im here to ask something: if you can flash a H960(A) kdz on to F600(K,S,L)...the opposite can be done too without losing features? like put the firmware V30 Nougat in V20 European?
I dont care about FM Radio working or not, only want network and wifi working.

Maybe it's not LGs fault at all. I suspect that those phones which cannot boot into fastboot mode were not meant to be sold in Europe but somehow found their to a European dealer. Therefore some internal flag might prevent those phones from booting into bootloader / fastboot mode.
You can get some information about your phone via the IMEI if you check it for example via this page. I tried it and got the information that the carrier of my phone, which I expect to be the original country for sale, is in fact Romania though I bought it via a german dealer.
Here some information I got about my phone:
Code:
Location Code: N
Network Code: ROM
Carrier: ROMANIA
If the information about your phone shows anything but a European country as carrier (and unlock for french phones also does not work) this could be the reason why you can't boot into bootloader/fastboot mode though you have a H960A. In that case you need to blame your dealer.

OK, but that does not necessarily mean that you can actually unlock the bootloader. If you IMEI is not registered for a European phone you will not get the unlock.bin from. LG.

Very sorry for not replying in many months. I forgot I even had this post. Yes, I am very much satisfied with the performance in Android 7.0. It's much better than Android 6.0. Sadly, I discovered that this phone doesn't have a recovery and flashing firmware on it is near impossible. Maybe a thourough Google search could find the answer to your problem. You could try the LG Bridge program on your computer to find and install the update.

Even I didn't get any notification for update at first. Since updating the phone manually is not an option (it doesn't have recovery), the only thing you can try is downloading the LG Bridge App from LG's website for Windows, plug in your phone into your windows computer and choose the software update option on the LG Bridge program. Then keep your phone plugged in and let it update if an update is found by the Windows LG Bridge app.
thanks for replay @SirGarmaples
I mean "manually" refer to Flash phone with official .KDZ file...
my Internet connection was very very very slow (40-60 Kbps) cant use LG Bridge... Unless I get KDZ file to software (LG Bridge) in some way
is this doable (import .KDZ file manually to LG Bridge)? any one of XDA-Developer users worked on it?

Even for .kdz file, you'll need to download that too. I don't see the benefit of not using LG Bridge tool for updating. Both ways, you'll need to download the file so there's no point. I do not know of any way of flashing .kdz file onto this phone. There's literally no support for our phone on XDA. You can update your phone using other faster wifi or connection or leave the computer to do the thing overnight. Look at this thread, this can help you. https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g5/development/uppercut-lgup-loader-g5-variants-t3511295 I'm not responsible for any damage or loss to your phone. Please don't do anything to your phone if you don't know what it is or how to do it.
