Dears,
Is it okay to change the battery everyday through the module?
Everytime I unplug the battery from the module I get afraid of breaking something between the battery and module
????
Any thoughts?
Thanks
I would think it's OK. I've done it everyday because the battery doesn't last all day. I had the battery kit 2-3 times a day

Don't pull it apart, instead try to "break it" in half.

Not quite ?
The more annoying part of it for me is that the corner of the chin where the actual connector is to the phone is always so difficult to yank out of the phone. It really only pops out the side the button is on, and it feels really sketchy yanking the rest out.
I plan on replacing my battery daily, though, just ordered the kit. I did so daily with my G4. We'll see how things go.

Would like to see some too please?
As soon as i find a camera i swear i will post some.

Looks like the battery failed.
I must see this!

I don't think it was AOSP..
If anything my phone was way better with aosp.
It always did get very warm.
It melted mostly at the battery connectors, that whole piece is warped and parts are melted.
and there's a horrid smell, the battery is puffed up like a balloon.
and the pc-board has a brownish burnt tint to it.
There are zero signs of life.. "duh"
Pissed off and building bombs...
So, where's the pics?
it was something similar on this forum some time ago(phone getting hot when charging) when was first update for x10 from 1.6 to 2.1 some people have this problem and one preaty good solution for that was discharge the phone to zero after update before connect to charger
O_O
I can't even begin to imagine. If something like that happened to me, I'd not just build bombs, but drop them too

I have lost my battery after i drove off with the phone on the roof of my car
Is there anyway possible to make the Galaxy S3 turn on without the battery?
edit: Yes, it is possible as described by rpomponio:
It is easy actually. You have to have it on a charger and have a little skill. Find out what the battery out putt voltage is. Then get a cell phone charger with same voltage. Strip the end of the charger to expose the positive and negative. Then simply put positive wire on positive terminal and negative terminal, remember there are probably two positive terminals on the phone so be careful. I have done this rigged up process many times in the past with devices that had a shot battery. So be careful!

With the charger connected of course. I think you could do this with the Nexus One.
It doesn't seem to work, but I was hoping for a trick or something to make it work
I'd not recommend such experimentations since you can easily destroy your 600$ phone with one single error if you have no practice working with electronics or electricity in general.
Replacement batteries are not that hard to come by and if you need to get data from your phone immediatly, I'm sure phone stores or repair shops will be able to help you out by giving you a battery for a few minutes so you can transfer the data off your phone.

Yes, but you need a full surgical team and a butt load of machines....:silly:
As for the battery, go to ebay, you can pick up an SGS3 battery, not going to be original, for around $3 or $4 AUD as long as you don't use the NFC... Otherwise you'll need a real samsung battery and that will set you back about $30AUD.

Good call, why not possibly wreck your phone instead of waiting till you have a battery :good:
The battery outputs 3.7 volts and all my chargers (micro-usb) outputs 5 volts, so I can't do it.
Also the lcd is cracked and I was planning on hooking up an hdmi adapter that needs a power source of its own, and having 2 chargers connected at the same time is propably not wise.

I have a replacement battery on the way but its taking forever to get here, so I'm kinda running low on patience.
Many thanks for all the suggestions and warnings. I'll be waiting for a battery
This can also be done using a USB cord... https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/accessories/how-to-samsung-galaxy-s-iii-battery-t3417303
Hi
today my phone (galaxy I777) got wet in a stupid way (don't ask how) and the water wasn't clean it had some salt and some other stuff, I got it dry and it works very good but when i want to charge it it says " Charging paused. Battery temperature is too low" like -20
any idea what's the cuse?
Water damage in the charging circuitry?
Or maybe hidden moisture that isn't removed?

Water can play havoc with electronics, especially micro-electronics. Even more so if there is a corrosive substance present such as you mentioned. Depending on the circumstances, you may be lucky that you have a working phone, even though it won't charge the battery.
There could be hidden water even though you took the phone apart and cleaned it. You should completely dessicate the phone. Some people put the phone in a bowl of rice for a few days, but I don't know how effective that is. If you use heat, it must be very gentle.
If there is damage to the circuitry, there is nothing you can do except maybe send it to Samsung for repair.

I believe it is called a Charging and USB Control Chip.
Here lately, I've been pulling my phone out of my pocket and it is off. Turning it back on reveals no change in battery level. I've started tapping on the back every once in a while, pretty lightly actually and it'll actually shuts off about half the time. I'm not sure what I can do here. The warranty is long gone, and even if I were within the warranty period, I'm rooted. What should I do, what could be wrong? Could this be an issue with the battery or is it a loose connection within the phone?

No, I'm using the battery that came with the phone. I'm thinking about getting a different battery to see if maybe that may be the issue, but I'm not sure.

I Googled searched your problem and using an aftermarket battery was the only thing that came up. I wonder if your battery is moving a little bit and loosing contact. Mine fits really tight so maybe not.
Try cleaning your battery terminals and slip a piece of paper under the bottom of the battery so it sits tighter against the contacts.

I'll try that, but I really don't think that's the problem seeing as my battery fits rather tight as well.
Hey,
Lately I'm having an annoying problem where my battery discharges pretty fast (half a day at normal use), at around 40% left , the drain
become ever worse and discharges quickly to 30%, the screen then flickers and the phone dies.
I looked at the internet and I believe the battery is dead and need to be replaced.
I would like to know if doing so will help, or the problem may be software related.
Running Paranoid Android 4.41
with Stock PA kernel.
Thank you very much .
Sounds like battery, don't buy a fake.
Yes,
Will try to get an original one, hopefully it will solve the problem.
Thank you.
Maybe somebody had the same problem and solved it by replacing and can answer ?

Place battery on flat surface, if you can spin it, replace it with original new battery.
You will have to forgive me but I think I misunderstand you.
What do you mean by placing my battery on flat surface and spinning it, what is supposed to happen ?

He means if the battery isn't flat and you can spin it then your battery has expanded and therefore that's your issue. Buy a new one

I've tried it and the battery didn't expand.
still, I believe that it holds the blame, anyway ordered a new one.
Thank you .

What he meant was, when you place the battery on a flat surface, a normal one can actually rest on the surface with four corners. Once the battery starts to go bad, it will start bulging in the middle, allowing it to spin like a top. Battery capacity also depends on the duration of use as well.
