MXQ-4K - Remote control power button function as shutdown instead of sleep - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I bought an MXQ-4K as for an IPTV STB box. My problem is when, I press the power button , on the remote controller, then the box going to sleep, and did not shutdown. In this condition, the stream is still coming from the stream server, allocating bandwidth, also when I press the button again, I see that the program is still running.
What I want to accomplish , is that when I press the power on the remote, the box shutdown. When I press it again, then it should boot up.
The device is rooted, on the /system/usr/keylayout files, I see a layout which belongs to the remote 110b0030_pwm.kl , there is an event for the powerbutton like this: key 116 POWER WAKE
Anyone can suggest something what I could try?
Thanks

Possible work around for broken/failing power button (at least Verizon, possibly all)

Hello all... long time XDA user, not enough time poster... Ok I had the (now to me) infamous power button issue this past weekend. I was able to get my phone going after beating the bejeezus out of it. With that said, I figured I would keep to using the power button to a minimal dosage. What I have is the following- S4 rooted, with ES File explorer installed with the root option enabled, quick boot, wanam, and mylock. The easiest stuff- I set a quick boot widget for power off and one for reboot (so no power buttons for that), I use mylock for locking the phone, wanam- added screenshot to power menu (among other mods that don't pertain to this), and home button for turning phone on (or Volume button- details coming).
I am going to attach a couple of screenshots too...
With ES File Explorer (going for forward, will be labeled ES) go to Device level / scroll down to system, go to usr, and then keylayout, in there go to Generic.kl. Once in there, scroll down to Key 116. Tap the little pencil in the upper screen of ES. Copy the contents of Key 116 - POWER WAKE (I recommend copying so you have all the spaces needed), delete out the key 114 option (I chose Volume Down) and paste that in there. Now you can leave both at POWER WAKE, or you can change 116 to the VOLUME_DOWN if you want to use the power button to turn down the audio. If you blank it out or add other characters it seems to kill the back button and menu button- SO I RECOMMEND TO HAVE SOMETHING THERE. OK good... so moving on-
Hit the back button and click to save the file.
Next-
in the same level as the Generic file, go to gpio-keys.kl).. Scroll down to Key 114 and replace the VOLUME_DOWN with the POWER WAKE that you should still have on your clipboard. Hit the back button and save text.
Final, you will have to reboot your phone in order for the changes to take effect.
Going forward, if you chose to use the power button for volume down, you will no longer be able able to use the power button while the phone is on for power purposes... it will be a volume down button now. Your volume down button will act like the power, so you can bring up the power menu for shut down/screenshots/etc.
To turn the phone one (if it is off), you have a few options... if the power button still works it will power the phone on (it doesn't matter that you have made this mod, it will not allow the volume down to turn a phone on from power off. If the button is shot shot, you can use the micro usb trick to turn it on ( hold down volume down and power, plug it in, then when download comes on put volume down to restart). Or you can use a jig...
Anyway, I hope this helps someone out. Thank you for checking this out.

Advanced Power Menu

I have installed the newest Malaysk ROM on my HU. On the picture attached you can see the Advanced Power Menu like it should be. In my case there is only Reboot after long pressing the button on the top right. Does it belong to the launcher? If I am pressing the button only short my device turns black, but the knobs are still lightning (also you can hear the radio). It seems that the device is hanging up so I had to press the reset button.
Also I want to know If its possible to shutdown the unit completely. Without having connected the ACC wire.
I have the same question about the pwer menu. Like you I only get one option.

[QESTION] change power button function

Hello. On every phone, if i hold the powrr button long inought, it will pop up a power menu. But on meizu, there is only 2 options (power off, reatart) and i found app, that have more options (recovery, turn off sounds, etc). So is possible to somehowe stop the menu function and replace it with open app function? I know that it sounds like an idiot idea, but for me it would be great. Thanks for your time and answers.
P.S.: i was thinnking about macrodroid, but it have only power button toggle (3-5 times) but every device i know lock screen after 1 time pushing power button. Sr for my english

Button Mapper for Smart TV -- Issue with Endless Button Transmission

TV: Sony Bravia X800H
After installing Button Mapper i was hoping to map the worthless Google Play red button to the SmartTube app this way when i press the large red button it then jumps to the more useful app. I find Button Mapper works 50% of the time. I also notice once i tap the button i can see the remote signal constantly transmitting to the television non-stop. I have to tap any other non-mapped button just to get the transmission to stop.
Anyone experience the same issues?
Sony Bravia XH9096 (X900H in US)
I'm having the same issue that you described.
When pressing a color button (for example I've mapped the Red one for Youtube) the app stars but the remote keeps trasmitting to the tv untill I press the remote once more.
Is there a fix for this? Have you solved?
Thanks.

How to quickly power off Android TV Box with remote control

I bought the MX10 Android TV Box for my elderly parents and want to make it as simple as possible for them to operate. One of the things that they always have problems with is shutting the box down properly. Currently, a short press of the physical remote control power button puts the box to sleep. Is there a way to get rid of the sleep mode and just automatically fully shutdown the box anytime they press power? To currently shutdown, they need to do a long press of the power button which is then followed by a prompt asking "Do you want to shutdown" and then they have to press a couple more times to click 'OK' which is more complicated than they need it to be. The box appears to have root priveliges so is there a simple code I can add to 'build.prop' so that they can completely shutdown the box with one quick press of the remote power button (rather than it going to sleep)? I have tried 'poweroff.doubleclick=0' and that had no effect so am hoping there's some code that will work?
I gather by the lack of response that there's no way to shutdown the box with one quick press of the remote power button?
Check out my problem, I got diffrent box but still...
I bought andorid box that came with remote, power button worked, also there are buttons that can be set up for managing TV, I've set those up to...few days late only those tv buttons work, non android key is working...I go on ali express and order air mouse type remote, infra red one. Plug it in, copy code from old remote to new one, everything works just fine, power buton etc. Than I go and try old remote, go figure, he work just fine...all buttons!
It worked for few months, than the other day original mouse i broken again. only tv buttons work while air remote is all ok except power button. I've tryed everything and google everything...nothing out there...I know android box is like a phone, no power but on it so no way to turn it off completely, but both remotes manage to turn it off atleast to sleep, now non of them can...
