Hello. I upgraded my galaxy s5 to the android 6.0.1 and now it is stuck in the T-Mobile logo. I can feel a small vibration after about 40 seconds as if it were to finish the process of initiation. Yet, it never does. I have wiped the data, dalvik cache, and everything. I have reinstalled the upgrade via odin, also via kies, also via the same phone. But nothing works. In odin i first tried without the option of update phone bootloader, then i tried with it , and nothing works. I went back to 5.1 , and tried going back to 6.0 and nothing. It keeps in the tmobile screen. How long do i have to wait for it to finish the process? I spent 30 minutes waiting, and 30 minutes is NOT USUAL AT ALL!. the most i have had to wait for a device to finally initiate for the first time is about 15 minutes. Any help?

I FOUND THE ISSUE AND THE PROBLEM IS NOW SOLVED!
Apply marshmallow upgrade through Odin again. I had the same issue and it fixed it.

Note that initial startup boot will take a little longer than usual. Clear cache partition too.

Yeah i have read someone who cleaned the cache partition about 3 times , booting after each time he cleaned the cache, and it worked for him. Although it wasnt an s5. But right now i just installed the 5.1 via odin again, and now im installing the 6.0 again. Then i will try the cleaning the cache several time and see how it goes. Even though i need my device to wake up at 6 tomorrow lol . Lets hope i can fix this.
6.0.1 right? You don't need to go back to 5. Just reinstall 6

I have a question. After the green screen appears and finishes the process, does your device reboot after it says starting apps? Mine did it all the time. It just did it now, but im going to try to wipe cache now. But first, let me wait a couple of minutes (5 minutes) to see if by some miracle it works.
I don't think it should reboot. Cache wipe should do it

I was in a class. Did you reflash marshmallow again with odin 3.11.1 ?

Samsung Kies3 can help you restore your original Samsung ROM (remove custom OS ROM), and it did fix bootloop for my Galaxy s5 recently.
Open Kies 3 and click Tools > "Firmware Upgrade and Initialization"
In order to proceed, you will need enter your device model name and S/N number.

yes. I did it with the 3 latest versions and nothing worked lol. I went back to 5.1 and then flashed a custom rom based on AOSP, Resurrection Remix. Seems like i wont be able to flash 6.0 of stock firmware ever. I have tried every method

I tried kies after i tried odin and it didnt fixed my issue. I tried it 2 times. Then i tried to use the Software updater of the own device in 5.1 firmware, it didnt work either. I think i give up . i spent the whole day trying every single method that came to my head or that i could found. But none of them worked. I dont feel like spending 30 minutes flashing the whole thing again going back and forth, wiping, etc...
Hard reset is gonna be your best bet if you haven't done it already
Sent from my SM-G900T using Tapatalk
Only hard reset might not be sufficient,
I tried once, and the hard reset plus 10 times of wiping dalvik and normal cache was able to fix bootloop.
But stuck in bootloop, my phone was not able to enter stock/TWRP recovery to perform the necessary master reset and cache clean.
Therefore when bootloop problem came back again later, my only solution was to try Kies 3, and Kies 3 was able to control my phone and fix bootloop while my phone was stuck in bootloop.

I tried all that several times and nothing. Do you know all the stuff that one can dk from 9 am to 11 pm? I even downloaded 5 6.0 firmwares from different sources each, including sammobile.com. and tried kies, odin (3 versions) , OTA, wiping only cache, wiping dalvik cache, wiping data and factory reset, wiping everything, wiping nothing,
Just to let people know. If you are in the same situation than me i have solved the issue. There were some files in my Micro Sd card that were affecting the installation process. Now i removed the sd card and the process finished successfully. Thank you for suggestions anyway.
Yea it should have been formatted along with the factory reset from the get go.

Have you tried flashing a stock ROM from TWRP?
-------edit----------
I just remembered. This used to happen on the Note 2 at times. If you're booting and get the Samsung splash screen, try going to TWRP and doing a Factory Reset a couple times. No idea if it will work, but with the Note that would usually clear whatever block existed and allow the ROM to boot past the splash screen. Good luck.

If it exists, it would basically be that ROM stuck into a .zip file which could be flashed from TWRP. I'm not sure it exists, was just browsing the Dev thread for you to see if anyone posted it. There is a version here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2292707 , but I'm not familiar with Loki enough to say whether or not you have it.

If Odin isn't working for you, a solution might be had via TWRP since you can still get into the recovery. If you flash your ROM or try your backup, does the install complete or does it crash? Have you wiped cache, dalvik, system, and data before the flash?
-edit-
Sorry, just saw your OP where you said you wiped and tried. If I were you my next step would be trying a different ROM just to see if you can get something booting.

Trying again. First wiping wiped cache, dalvik, system, and data , then restoring back up. I've tried this multiple times before hopefully it works this time. But generally when i hit reboot system afterward it just hangs at the Samsung Galaxy IV boot screen and does nothing.

After your backup restores, try using TWRP to do a Factory Reset a couple times before rebooting. Also wipe cache/dalvik again before the boot.
Failed again stuck at Samsung Galaxy S4 boot screen

Well went to restart the phone and now its stuck on a Samsung logo with a unlocked icon thats says custom underneath it and just sits there.
The other day, for reasons I'm not entirely clear on, after trying to reboot my phone, I found it unable to boot (just stuck at the last boot animation). I went ahead and decided to wipe and tried to flash a custom ROM (started with Beans, also tried Hyperdrive), but for both ROMs, I wind up in a bootloop after installation. Generally it will get to the very first screen, language selection, then simply reboot after a few seconds. This just happens continually. Only got things working again by using Odin to get back to the stock MDK release.
Trying to flash coming from build number JDQ39.1545VRUAMDK. Appreciate any suggestions. Thanks
Tried again with flashing a factory stock, rooted rom from recovery after full wipe/reset. It wouldn't boot. When I recover a backup I've previously made, it will boot up once just fine, then when I reboot, it just sits at the "Samsung" "Custom" screen with a lock on it.
Would really appreciate some help. Thanks
Same here, I tried to flash Illusion, and now my phone is stuck at the Samsung Custom lock screen...
make sure you are wiping everything (i do dalvik, data, system, cache, and factory reset) 3x for a complete clean install, then flash.

Twrp 2.6
You might want to try cwm there has been a few posts with people and a similar situation. Twrp wipes differently then cwm and thats what causes it.

THanks for the advice. Hopefully will have time today to give this a try. If not, this weekend. Will post back with results. Thanks again.
TWRP 2.5 works perfectly for me...
Solved! Went through another reinstall of hyperdrive, this time I only checked one or two options. Now I'm running smoothly with no issues.
Im have a lot of problems getting my P7510 Galaxy Tab working on new firmware.
Ive tried several different firmwares and none of them have worked properly. Currently I am working with Stock Firmware from January 2012 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1452060). After using Odin, it installs better than any of the other firmwares ive tried, and after every fresh installation Android will sometimes open up normally after which it then crashes! On subsequent attempts to run it I always end up with the Samsung Logo screen.
Ive always done a Factory Reset before & after installation, also Wiped Cache occasionally. I have also installed CWM and cleaned the Dalvik Cache on several occasions.
Maybe I should try a different Stock Firmware. Ive done some searches (ie, sammobile) but cant find any. Can someone give me a link where I can get a different Stock Firmware. Or maybe this isnt the problem. Can somebody tell me where I go from here.

The problem is likely not to be the firmware or ROM you are installing but the procedure you are following. You only do Factory Reset before a fresh installation. However, you do not need to do a Factory Reset after installation as that amounts to wiping off the installation you had just done. In order words, your device is blank and has NO SYSTEM TO RUN IT! Try installing a custom ROM again without the factory reset. The other wipes you do i.e. cache and dalvic are in order, before and after installation.
For a very clean installation also format system under Mounts and Storage in CWM. Ensure you have the latest version of CWM 6.0.3.3 before you start, especially if you intend to run Jelly Bean 4.2.2 based ROM such as CM 10.1 etc.
Hope this helps you.
Cheers.

Actually, factory reset wipes data and cache. It doesn't wipe system so after a ROM installation its OK to factory reset.

Thanks for your advice folks. This is where ive got to now:-
After cleaning Dalvik Cache, a Factory Reset and formatting system under Mounts and Storage I installed the stock firmware and the device booted as it should. I was able to connect to wi-fi and Play Store and do some updating etc., But once I Powered Off the device it wouldnt boot up properly again, it just hung on the darn Samsung Logo. So I installed CWM and on reboot, lo-and-behold, the device started working normally (without me having run CWM at all). Then I subsequently Powered Off and started again but once more got stuck on that Samsung Logo. So then I wiped Dalvik Cache to see if it would boot properly, and it didnt. And then I did a Factory Reset to see if it would boot properly and it didnt.
Where do I go from here?

I think you might have the wrong bootloader.
That said, your firmware seems to be Korean. You can visit samsmobile and download a more updated/recent firmware version of ICS preferably US or UK and that will give you the correct bootloader for most custom ROMs you may wish to install.

Pershoot has the correct bootloader in www.droidbasement.com. Yes, bootloader should be flashed through bootloader. Please ensure you download the right one for your device variant. Flashing official stock ICS will also give you the right bootloader.

Ive had a look at www.droidbasement.com but I am not sure which is Pershoot 'correct' bootloader. I find it quite a difficult site to navigate. If you can direct me to the specific download for the P7510 that would be great.
In the meantime I did [yet another] reinstall and in this instance Android opened as it should. The first thing I did was to connect to Kies and installed the recommended Kies Update. So I know now for sure I am running a kosher version for my P7510 device. However after powering down it wouldnt boot up again, it once more got stuck on the Samsung logo (even after doing Factory reset and clearing Dalvik Cache etc.,). It begs the question, do you still think its the Bootloader thats the problem?

So now I a on the phone with sprint but looks like in the end I a pounding sand. Without a mj4.tar to push with odin I have a brick!!!
QUOTE=claude9039u;47170179]I was on JB rom and updated to the last beta test rom and the following happened.
I installed 2.0.0 Beta on phone not storage card. I then made a back up before I flashed the rom then wiped cache, dalvic cache and system three times. I then installed rom, it booted up to my unlock pattern screen.
Now here is the problem every time I put in my unlock pattern the phone goes black comes back on to the unlock pattern screen again? I must have put in my unlock pattern 10 times and 10 times it goes black and starts up in the unlock screen. This does not appear to be a reboot more like a small shut down? I pulled battery same thing, I reinstalled 2.0.0 Beta, same thing.
So I restored my backup and the phone now goes to the boot up Samsung screen and tone, then goes to unlock pattern for a few seconds and back to Samsung boot up screen? Pulled the battery twice and same thing happened will not go pass the boot up Samsung screen and tone.
So I then go to recovery wipe everything Cache, dalvic, data and system. Restore the back up again and the phone does the same thing goes to the boot up Samsung screen and tone, then goes to unlock pattern for a few seconds and back to Samsung boot up screen? Keep just doing this pattern?
I then tried to restore to stock using ODIN and installed N900PVPUBMI5_N900PSPTBMI5_N900PVPUBMI5_HOME.tar.m d5 from JB's file and I get a fail each time?
I then downloaded KERNEL-SPR-N900PVPUBMI3-1378528567.tar and it installed passed but now I am stuck in the Samsung screen?
JB responded for me to do:

Try wiping data, system, cache and dalvic cache. then flash either official jellybomb ver. 1 or stock mj4 rom by freeza.
You cant go backwards from mj4 to older firmware... I dont believe...
So I did:
Since I installed KERNEL-SPR-N900PVPUBMI5-1379320673.tar I have a stock recovery so I ODIN'ed CF-Auto_root and then openrecovery-twrp. This gave me TWRP 2.6.3.7 and from there I wiped data, system cashe and dalvic cache. I then rerooted. TWRP told me I had no OS installed are you sure I said yes. TWRP then says your device does not appear to be rooted?? I then go back into TWRP and flash JB ver 1.0.0. It says install busybpx install kernel done updateing partition details... E: unable to mount '/usbstorage"
Successful so I then reboot system.
I get samsung screen and song that goes black and I get samsung note 3 screen and music. Screen goes black and it keeps on repeating itself?
JB came back and said
Ok. Lots of errors to your process there.. no need to do some of the steps.
So do this... if u have working twrp.
Factory reset in twrp.
Then install mj4 stock rom. And let it boot
I then did as he said
It appears that I have a working twrp so I down loaded SM-N900p_HLTESPR-MJ4-Odes-v2 from freeza. I went to twrp did a factory reset and flashed SM-N900p_HLTESPR-MJ4-Odes-v2
While flashing I did notice that it did not find MD5 file. In the end it says that it was a successful install. It rebooted did its thing, got to andriod upgrading and rebooted. Samsung screen song and got a process system isn't responding and it rebooted again doing the same thing?
And now I am in Samsung boot up screen get process system isn't responding and the phone keeps rebooting doing the same.[/QUOTE]
It looks that without a mj4.tar file to use odin my phone is dead
In twrp wipe everything then format data. You will have to type in "yes" to do this. Then flash freeza mj4. If this doesn't work then wipe and format data restore a nandroid factory reset then flash freeza rom. After flashing rom wipe all and format data again. Then reboot. Let us know if it works.

Why can't you just use Samsung Kies and restore your phone the old fashioned way?

Samsung Kies HAS to work. If it doesn't than your phone is broken.
You might try to mount your sd card in twrp and copy as many files as you can before the wipe (assuming you have anything left) (after everything else you've tried it's not likely you have any data worth saving)
Its been a nightmare but I called Samsung direct and they got the phone working???? How I have no idea they had me doing things that that I could not write down fast!!! But the bottom line is that I am on Mj4 and the phone is working??

Hello everyone.
Im trying to factory reset my MDK Verizon S4 coming from Hyperdrive 16. Every time i try to factory reset my phone reboots back into the rom. I'm able to wipe cache from the recovery. But it just reboots every time i try to wipe data and factory reset. Anyone have experience with this?

Have you tried updating to Philz latest? I have no problems at all with that one.

You're saying your phone reboots even when you're trying this from within Phil right? Not just the option from within the ROM....
If it doesn't get any better you may just want to use the No Wipe Odin file. Something could have gotten corrupt or something along the way.
Another thing to try maybe is flash the latest TWRP using Flashify and see if that let's you do it..

ok just hitting factory reset inside of Philz will of course just reset your operating system that is on there, which will be Hyper 16. If doing a factory reset to install a new ROM within Philz it will wipe everything out of there including the backup TW (HD16) makes of itself. my understanding is TW makes a copy of itself on install so when it does factory reset it reverts back to that.

Exactly that, I hit Wipe/Factory Reset. It starts attempts to start the process, freezes then reboots back into the ROM. Ill probably just do the no wipe Odin file. Thanks
