Hi!
I received my HTC Hero on thursday. I have some trouble getting a stable 3G / HSPA connection with my local providers over here in Germany (tested with E-Plus and O2). It falls back to EDGE or even GPRS quite often although my old Nokia E51 has a strong stable signal (all 6 of 6 bars for signal quality).
I also had trouble connecting to an open unsecured WLAN.
Is anyone else experiencing such problems (hopefully not)? If so, I just got a defective unit...
Any hints appreciated. Did find anything via Google yet. Probably because it has just been released.
Best regards, cos
Yes I've been having problems too. I have noticed a weaker reception I most areas - signal strength drops from 3 out of 4 to 1 out of 4 for no apparent reason - in weak signal areas I lose signal completely - wifi cuts in and out at home.
I'd also appreciate hints - HTC asked me to do a system reset which I'm reluctant to do becuase I don't believe it will solve anything.
Using SimFree HTC Hero on the Orange Network(UK). (I've tried 2 & 3G - I've tried O2 simcard)
**UPDATE**
Did a system reset - no difference
Sent phone to seller who compared it with other units- same signal strength
Took it to an Orange Shop where they had a signal booster which should have given me full signal - I got 3 bars.
Hopeful for a software update
I‘ve got an Atrix 4G a few days ago. but have a serious problem now.
i have bought the unlock code and the code was accepted.
after i insert an GSM card, the signal status bar shows a big forbidden sign just like "NO PARKING".it works like a MP4 right now, cannot make any calls.
i have changed for more than 5 GSM cards.but still no signal.
anyone who knows what should i do now? thanks!
Have you tried manually searching for an operator and logging into its network under mobile network settings? (you can switch back to automatic afterwards).
There could be a frequency mismatch, but on the one hand this bad by is quadband gsm and triband 3g, and on the other hand that woul dbe something you checked before you bought.. right?
Where do you live?
I have a similar problem. My reception goes on and off a lot and sometimes a reboot works, sometimes it doesn't. I have real bad reception at places where my old phone (an x10mini) had very good reception. The wierd thing is that when I have reception it's 4-5 bars, and then it drops to 0, I live in Sweden and have Tele2 as my carrier.
Qatar - Same issue

Any thoughts?

I performed a Hard Reset... Still no lucky...
I searched for Networks. Then I tried that carrier's SIM, and it worked...
Wonder why mine isn't working on edge nor gsm as yesterday...
Just figured out that my phone is not working with edge, gsm... only with 3G...
The phone is Quadband... So... Wasn't it supposed to work with all frequencies??
I m using Vodafone - India from last 4 Years but still I don't have proper strength in my room. It's totally ZERO and if someone calls then it shows " Phone is Switched Off "
We have almost 8 Cell Phones and All Cell phones is having the same status as mentioned above.
Well it's with every network like: Airtel, Idea, Reliance, Vodafone. No Network works in my room and the side room but it works in the front room of the house.
What Can I use or any Hardware or any thing like booster if Vodafone people have or I have to buy any thing for solve this issue.
P.S. There is no Jammers installed in our house.

Hi good day
Currently my Galaxy S6 Edge 925i, presents problems with the signal inside the home or office loses signal to only emergency call or 3G in very weak way, only to the foreigner I have 4G LTE intermittently, which I recommend? My service provider is ATT Mexico.
1. Check with other SIMs from different companies and the same.
2. Firmware upgrade from 6.01 to 7.0.
3.Reset factory values.
I'm thinking of getting him to change his antennae to see if it works correctly.
Thanks and best regards.
