Hello,
so to start it off, I have a SM-925F Galaxy S6 Edge, and have a corrupt EFS.img on it, I do have the original aswell, but since the phone won't boot up and only gets to recovery or installation, how should I go about fixing it?
Thank you.
Boot into download mode and install the stock firmware via odin. There are several tutorials here on how to do so.

If that doesn't work look up the last resort option where you use a partition table file to repartition and reinstall the firmware. That one is extremely risky.

Thank you but that does not fix the problem. Have tried several times, still E:failed to mount /efs
Then sounds as if the partition table is your only resort. It completely wipes all partitions and recreates them allowing for the installation afterwards but has to be done with the firmware or else total brick

Can I not flash my recovery.img with odin? What confuses me about this is that I need to get a .tar file, which I have no idea what is or how to get.
Anyone got any ideas except the re-partition? I don't know the PDA so hard to find an official firmware for it, with the pit files and everything
So I used smartswitch emergency recover and now the phone boots up to optimising or something apps, gets to like 11 and sometimes 13 out of 26 and keeps restarting
Holy ****, its working after smartswitch reset
But now I have an imei like 000000000000000000356 or something.

Hi all.
Would really appreciate some help here. I'm trying to unroot/back to stock my S3 before selling it. I was running CM10.1 on it. Here is what I did:
- downloaded a zip from "Samsung updates". Unzipped it and it had a tar.md5 and another file called "SS_DL.dll"
- downloaded Odin 3.07
- started Odin, then plugged the phone while in Download mode. The ID:COM turned blue.
- loaded the tar.md5 in PDA and clicked start
-the image flashed and said successful at the end
now I'm stuck at boot loop. Was the flashing procedure correct?? Or was the image corrupted or something??

Before flashing through Odin anything you got to make sure you have the right .tar files. That being said, you searched for the .tat file corresponding your device?
Edit: Another thing, when you plug your phone in download mode the right color is yellow. It doesnt matter what is says it has to be yellow before continuing.

btw no matter how many times i put the password wrong i get 30 seconds to put the password again
Only way would be factory reset or just try dirty flashing the rom

If you work out where the whatsapp database is, you could connect phone in recovery mode and adb pull the database before ressetting the phone

My phone froze on me earlier and threw me into bootloops. Recovery didn't work, so I flashed it again. Then I did a factory reset and flashed my rom again and I have no service at all and the play store doesn't work.
How do I get my baseband back?
For some reason the phone can't find the internal storage. I don't know how to fix this.

If your phone can see the external card you could download a baseband from xda, copy it the card then flash the baseband from there.

It might be best to restore to stock and start over. DL alternate restore and flash that from Odin. If that doesn't work then root66.

If you use Root66 it doesn't completely wipe your phone like VRALJB or VRALL4 so you need to check the NAND Erase box in Odin before starting the flash.

I flashed root66 and it's stuck on the splash screen. Does it take a while to boot after that? I did factory reset and I had to format /data because TWRP thought I had encrypted data.
Update: flashed JellyBeans but it has no storage available (negative value on internal storage). Still no service. Flashing any of the modems that Scottsroms has does not update it. Maybe I can get it through odin. I heard that it takes a few minutes to flash a new modem, but it only takes a few seconds on my phone and does nothing
Successfully flashing a modem via TWRP only took a few seconds for me.

If you haven't already you may want to reformat internal storage and or flash root66 with the pit file or after that with both of those and Nand erase selected in Odin.

That's why I and other users recommended you select NAND erase in Odin when using Root66, it isn't that it doesn't update everything it just doesn't completely wipe everything.

Ever fix it?
I got the Verizon HTC One Max today... Successfully got bootloader unlock, root, and S-OFF (thanks to rumrunner!).
Found CWM Touch/Non-Touch recovery as well as TWRP. Tried flashing both via fastboot and neither would actually load when telling device to boot into recovery. Tried installing TWRP via GooManager, no go. Tried installing CWM via ROM Manager, no go. Recovery not found for either is what I was pretty much running in to.
Decided to try flashing recovery for Verizon HTC One (via ROM Manager), it says it worked, but still would not boot into recovery. Ever since then, though, I cannot get service and device will be on for a minute or two and then reset.
Manually flashed TWRP and CWM and now it seems to boot into recovery (with either), but still no service and still resetting every minute or two.
Cannot find RUU for this device, nor can I find radio to flash or stock recovery.
Help me! I want my phablet back! lol

Where did you "find" cwm and twrp? Different versions from other forums 'sometimes' contain other partitions with them.
Should only use:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-max/orig-development
Recoveries are made from a device specific kernel. The One kernel is very similar to the Max but not exact. There is work being done to get usable pieces of a decrypted Verizon Max ruu. Not sure what you can do until available.

Dont go without. You have custom Max recovery installed now and we have the files for someone in here to create you some flashable zips of stock kernel and stock recovery to try. Decrypted ruu pieces are needed when you cant flash with custom recovery.
Just ask in General for someone to create flashable zips.

Fastboot flash boot (bootfilename)
Just replace the (bootfilename) part with the file name you are using
Example
Fastboot flash boot g6f789c8.img
Edit- also I checked and found that drop box must have added the .bin extension. The flashify app leaves them without extension because it assumes they are .IMG files. Therefore, they can simply be renamed to .IMG. Didn't notice that in the hurry to post.

What you need to do is fastboot the stock recovery, you shouldn't need the stock boot.img unless you tried to flash someone else's kernel for a different device... Anyways yeah you need to fastboot the stock recovery by rebooting in to bootloader and typing "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" given the stock recovery is "recovery.img" which it should be.. Once stock recovery is installed boot in to the stock recovery any way you can possibly get to it and do a full factory data reset.. This will wipe the entire phone as well as reset the Verizon radio/baseband and theoretically you should be able to boot right back up and cell and data connection should resume as normal! Good luck and PM me if you need any further help and I'll give you my gmail/hangouts so you can hit me up directly right there..

You need to re flash twrp in Odin to get your recovery back and there is a file out there that you can flash in twrp that should square you back to factory.
