Im running marshmallow, an interesting problem had popped up. On a fresh boot I get "unable to use fingerprint enter PIN"
Once I do this the finger print scanner works fine, any suggestions on how to fix this?
First unlock after fresh boot always requires pin or pattern unlock.

Solution: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/mod-fingerprint-enabler-t3411066
sure, use the solution of user fixxxer102, that works fine...you need to have xposed installed, by this means you need root and perhaps unlocked bootloader with TWRP installed too!

He has t-mobile unit so he`s able to unlock bootloader and root his device.
I wasn't aware this is normal behavior so really don't mind it just thought I caused it.
Im a little hesitant to use xposed framework right now.
Thanks guys.

Hi everyone I managed to get my new z ultra rooted but I keeps telling me update to..136 and the whole reason I did root access was because I wanted xposed but our isn't working out keeps telling me that it needs and Samsung rom in order for it to work. Also I kinda wanted Android 4.4 and I still have 4.3 anyone know what I. Cam do? Also I have unlocked the bootloader and I have root access. Another reason I wanted root was to swap internal storage with external so my games don't slow my phone down. Thanks
Be sure to download the latest version of Xposed. Flash 4.4 if you want to. Just flash it in Flashtool and flash Jackie's root kernel from the Development section and flash SuperSU.

- Unlock bootloader
- Flash Jackie's root kernel in Flashtool (use Fastboot option) (Choose "Flash kernel")

You mean you want to set games to be saved on the SD card? If yes, that's not my area of expertise since i've never done that, but i believe there are quite a few people around here that have had the same question in the past, so you'll have to get help from someone else regarding this

yeah sort of I will do some looking around thanks tho I havent done anykind of rooting or flashing since my HD2 lol its been a while and its gotten alot more complicated. thanks for the help and for the excellent guide you wrote.
Major credits again to @zachariahpope for the Lollipop build earlier tonight. Unfortunately getting it rooted from stock won't work. Which is why I proceeded to try the same method from my rooting guide to attempt root. And I am proud to say...I HAVE THE ROOTED LOLLIPOP SONY XPERIA Z3V!!!
And also, I have recovery as well.
If you're going to follow in the same footsteps, please PLEASE remember when you get the supersu file, grab the v2.49 as that is for LOLLIPOP.
@GigaSPX Make one of these in the development section too!!
well, looks like its time to flash
I thought this day would never come!!

where is it? can I just root the phone when I Flash it back to stock root from there and not take the OTA and go straight to the pre-root for Lolipop?

If you want root, you need to preroot. Otherwise, you won't have it at all.
Also this is an update: it seems it's still Verizon holding all of us by the edge about VoLTE. I tried activating it but it won't work. Still can't browse and call at the same time dammit.
Is this patched for Stagefright?

Just installed it. v74-sdk21-arm . Gave me a little scare, as it hung on the Sony logo after rebooting. Also, upon that initial reboot, the lockscreen was vacant and couldn't get beyond what should've been there. Had to long-press power to bring up power menu and select reboot.
Following that, things seem to be working fine. Xposed Installer crashes if you click on xda support links in module pages, and the installation of xposed modules from within the Xposed installer can take significantly longer than it did on KK.

Not sure if this helps, but, I jumped from this phone to the LG G4. We don't have much development but, some rooted users don't have advanced calling because they are rooted. I am a non-rooted user with advance calling. To add another variable to the equation, you have to have the My Verizon Mobile app installed and not disabled to at least initiate advanced calling. Some of the rooted users I think figured that out.

Big thanks here. Fully updated now, and with this tip I'm running xposed as well.
Uninstalled old xposed first (may not have been necessary)
TWRP dirty flashed pre-rooted 5.0.2 zip from post 44 of that lollipop dev thread
After boot TWRP isntalled v74-sdk21-arm module
Installed xposed_installer.apk and added back my most used modules
-chromepie
-xtether (still working )
Didn't bother with xperiaxposed, not even sure if it's updated. Never really used it
Also, I like this boot animation, not that it's of any importance http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3/themes-apps/bootanimation-xperia-z3-t3079263

Bruhh, download an app called "Hidden Settings" open it, open "testmenu" or some sh*t like that, & then phone info, then click the top right corner (3dots) icon, then switch ur bands, try hotswapping the sim card, try downloading another carriers modem files, using Hiemendall on a linux box, there are ways, as somebody JUST recently reported this phone booting up T-Mobile just by simply sticking a T-Mobile SIM into the slot .

Okay do you have it rooted bro? I couldn't open my hidden settings app until I rooted with kingoroot, + used root essentials to open it , there may be some build.prop or CSC edits needed to handle other SIM cards or enable the ability to connect to those carriers APN. I have not tried any other SIM cards yet, as I need to fix an LG G2 to have a hotspot lol.

google an app called "Super-sume" & then afterwards, download SuperSu & update the binary using the "normal" method, reboot just to make sure you have the most stable root available,
for the hidden menu download "root essentials" app, open your "device info" there will be yet another link to the hidden menu app, opens like a charm on mine.

You need to specifically google and download from some 3rd party site (i can only find the pro on play store for some reason) an app called "Super-SUme"
And run that, then download SuperSU, I believe the exact version I use is the v2.46 (forced system mode) one but have also downloaded the recent play store release as I literally have to root everytime I want out of setupwizard mode -.-.
No worries bro, like I said you could try the "Root Essentials" app with KingoRoot to just open that hidden menu specifically, I just know it won't open without root access, you may need to mount /system as RW even? I do these all by default so forgive me for not being a little more detailed lol.
I'm around if u hit any snags.

I'm still unsure of how well you know a TouchWiz setup, but I think you can tell the issue with everything is the locked down bootloader & the fact that it booted T-Mobile instead of VZW, is very weird, personally I'd love some logs to see if there's any difference in the loader, because it obviously knew when it was rooted LOL

Hey thanks for your feedback, I was scared for a moment lol. Unfortunately, my fingerprint, pattern, pin, password screen lock features do not register.
Before I unlocked Bootloader/rooted, I had a fingerprint + Pin setup and now it all is not working. Didn't know I had to clear my lock screen before unlocking bootloader and rooting.
I'm still currently trying to find out how to maybe go Into the phone root directory and delete some cache if it stored somewhere.
I tried deleting my lockscreen_settings.db and no luck.
I really don't want to flash stock firmware, unroot and relock bootloader
Does your fingerprint work or any lock screen feature at that?

That's NOT TRUE! If you follow these instructions, OTA can be applied normally... Magisk DOES NOT TOUCH System partition btw...
https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk/blob/master/docs/tutorials.md
So I purchased an A217M yesterday and first thing I tried to do was try and root it
I followed this guide https://magiskapp.com/root-samsung-galaxy-a21s-using-magisk/
and I *think* I successfully managed to do it cause I didn't get any bootloops
to verify that I was indeed in root mode I reinstalled magisk but the app said something like "Additional steps are required for magisk to work properly" or something then took me to a screen that said select something something and the other option was direct install, I picked direct install and now when I try to boot it says "Only official released binaries are allowed to be flashed" in a corner of the screen and now I'm stuck here. Is there any way to reverse this?
"the here we go again" part means I also screwed up the previous time I tried to root a phone lol, on that occasion tho it was because I deleted an essential app accidentally
have a look anon
I don't wanna mess around with it too much before someone replies to but would doing a Factory data reset again fix this? I got work tomorrow and I only have today to get this working. I also wanna sell this other phone I have asap

We do not allow multiple posts on the same topic, therefore I have moved your post into this thread.
Additionally, do not use profanity on XDA.
Assuming you've already unlocked your bootloader, the easiest way would be to flash a custom recovery such as TWRP, then install Magisk in the custom recovery.
However, seeing as TWRP is not available for the A21S, you'd want to patch the AP.tar file in Magisk, then flash in Odin. See the official Magisk installation guide here.

Check in magisk app
Tripping know simply disables samsung pay, secure folder, and a few other apps. It has probobly already been tripped when you tried to boot. A lot of this can be fixed by modules and such after getting root. Tripping knox persists even after going stock though.
Read xda’s guide.
