Need Help with GPS location based apps - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everybody,
Been looking for a while for a GPS based location and directions app that has the following functionality
1. Pinpoint any location on a map and save the location by giving it a unique ID (alphanumeric)
2. Share this ID with your friends using the same app by sending this ID via the app or email or sms.
3. Users use this ID for location and/or directions instead of typing the entire address or GPS coordinates.
4. App can use google maps or Nokia maps or other maps.
Please suggest some apps with similar functionality.
Much appreciated.

[Q] Send location / directions to someone?

Is there any way to send your current gps location or directions to your gps locaton to someone?
I used to be able to this on my Galaxy Note but I can't seem to find a way on the Lumia.
If you drop a pin on, say, Caring Cross Road, in Maps and click it and choose send via text or email, the email just says something like "checkout Charing Cross Road" and not contain map reference to your exact location!
Is there any way to do these things?
I'm using Whatsapp to send my location. Also there are some Apps that use Google Latitude gMaps is one of them. Also with gMaps you can share the exact coordinates if you prefer this way of sharing.
There is an app echoecho available in the marketplace. I've never used it, but it seems to be made exactly for this job...
Sent from my Lumia 800 using Board Express

[Q] Looking for routing app

Am familiar with Google map and some other mapping apps. What I'm looking for is something similar that keeps routing notes of business locations. A client provides a product for area retail outlets. Need app that allows notes to be kept for multiple locations where can click on a map, click on business location pinned on map, and be able to edit note/spreadsheet for that location. App would be able to track when last visited a location, items delivered, etc. by doing a quick search and also be able to print. Sometimes these areas don't have access to the Internet so being able to use offline map with notes would be a big plus. Is there an existing map app that has such capability?

[How To] GPS solution for galaxy star ......

One of the biggest disappointment in Galaxy Star is lack of GPS. Techno geeks (apparently google also) claims that apps like Google Maps can find your location by what is known as 'Cell Tower Triangulation'. But it doesn't seem to be the case.
So here is how the trick works. It tracks your location co-ordinates from your IP Address.
1. Download any app that can tell your location co-ordinates. The two apps I was able to find out are Location Tracker(Needs google play settings enabled) and IP Tools. [only one is required at a time]
2.Location Tracker- select Current Location and then Share my location. It shares a link. Save it somewhere like Colornote and paste in search bar of Google Maps, Maps.me app. (These two accept the links. You may try others.)
IP Tools- As you open the app(net required, off course) it will show your location co-ordinates. Tap there to copy them. Now edit them to get in the desired format (Ex:- 30.77777777,70.88888888) and paste it the search bar of your maps app (works with Google Maps and Maps.me).
Here you go. GPS in galaxy star.
Observations
Location Tracker
-"Turn on services on home page" error in Location Tracker even though it is on.
-Press back to eliminate ads.
-If you have location history on in Google Play Settings, it may show the last saved location of your device.
-Break functioning. Re-install from play store.
IP Tools
-Sends you far from where you are. Disconnect and reconnect the internet for better location.

Navigation android app

I am currently working on my own android app and I do some calculations and method calls there and finally get latitude and longitude of one point where I want to navigate to and have the latitude and longitude from my current location. Now I have some options from here on:
1. I embed existing navigation on Android in my application.
2. I start an extern navigation application via intent.
Both ways are used to help the user to navigate to the location.
When I finally reached the destination then my own app should handle this and send a message to a server. This is easier when my own app is in the foreground on the phone.
Some ideas what way I should use and if one explains me with what. I read something about Grasshopper etc. but I am not confident what to use.
Hopefully someone here can help me or just write down their opinion.
