hey all,
looking at getting this phone this weekend, but curious about the LTE.. I live in a rural area that doesnt have LTE, we will be on HSPA+ for a while yet. Carrier is Telus in Nova Scotia.
I have read that LTE is a bit of a battery hog, if there is no LTE in my area will the phone keep hunting for LTE?
Can i "disable" LTE and have it default to HSPA+?(primarily for battery consumption)

Hi, I have the AT&T S3 and I've used the code *#2263# and selected WCDMA and the frequency, and now it stays on HSPA

hrmm...when I do that on my ATT S3 it just takes me to a screen that says RAT selection option is restricted.
I don't see any other options.

There was a way to get out of this before, I think it involves you taking out your sim card.

Does this mean that some ATT phones have a different modem than other supposedly identical ATT phones??
i found there is no need to use codes, etc
Settings > More Settings > Mobile Networks > Network mode
Gives you 4 options
GSM/HSPA/LTE (Auto Mode)
GSM/HSPA (Auto Mode)
GSM Only
HSPA Only

For ATT phones this option is locked out. FYI. Tmo, Sprint and Verizon it's prolly not. Only annoying thing about ATT's version so far. My HOX is the same way.
Root and you can access it I think.

Hi, I'm using the At&t version of the S3 on another network (Claro) and the code works. Maybe something is different because of that?

I tried this one but it doesn't work for me. I see the information and can run ping test but if I try to make a band change the new selection is not applied.
I'm only able to change it using *#2263# :/

my rooted TMobile SGS3 doesn't even have this option... no Network mode!!
ATT Galaxy S3. *#2263# is not working. Any other options to turn off radio for LTE?

i am a taiwan atrix user,so i guess my atrix is the internal version...
yesterday,i set the gsm/umts band to [usa band]
then,l lost any 3g signal or 2g signal
now it displayed"no signal"on every boot
i think that if i can set the gsm/umts band to other local,i may fix it
but i the test mode,i just got the usa band to choose
i have reflash the rom again,but it doesn't get any better
how can i do???
Contact your carrier to setup the apn, the screen shot is for canada, telus. Make sure that the fields are properly competed.
System settings - more.. (under data) - access points.

U might have to flash radio ..checkout on the reboot project .. couple of radio's available there
Are you using lte frequency and band view function of "LTE Discovery" app? I've tried, but could not work. If only one of the sim is active , the band has been properly displayed . But if both of the sim is active labeled "lte band unknown".
i want to know the solution to this problem. Or Do you know another way ?
Hello everyone, I think I made a mess...
I have a Le Max 2 X820, I went to the secret menu (*#*#4636#*#*) > phone info > 3 dots menu > select radio band > and i selected "band mode 6". All of this because I had 4G signal issues.
I thought I had solved because the 4G worked perfectly but I just found out that I can not make calls! While I try to call someone it loses the signal and displays a network error.
I tried to reflash the ROM, to flash another ROM with all the wipes, tried to reflash stock modem.zip but nothing! I am desperate! Please help me
EDIT: On the second SIM slot it works, I can make calls
EDIT 2: if I do a manual network search in slot 1 only appears 4G but if I do a network scan on slot 2 appear 4G, 3G and 2G so I can make calls
I did what you did 2 weeks ago on my x829,i think both options band 6 and usa bands just disabled 2g and 3g bands and i can get it to work with qpst or qxdm easily.
