Hi All,
This thread is based on following closed thread for glaxy s5.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/general/how-to-add-rf-lte-frequency-bands-to-t2886059
currently i am using T-Mobile s (g900-t) in Saudi Arabia. it only works with GSM network. so i followed the guide and enabled the 2100 band for 3G. now my phone is able to search for 3G networks but it doesn't get registered on the network.
To debug the problem, i connected my phone with qxdm and took the log while it was trying to connect to the network. it shows that every thing works fine until the network sends the "AUTHENTICATION AND CIPHERING MESSAGE" and when the phone sends the reply network rejects the reply. anybody have experience with the QXDM log or NV value editing might help.
i suspect that the T-mobile modem for s5 doesn't have the NV values required for connecting to 2100 band.
Just about to buy this phone and was wondering this. I will use a Vodafone sim for calls/sms in 2g and a Three sim for the data connection; Three has no 2g so I want to exclude it to save battery.
The best would be the ability to choose between 3g only, 4g only and 3g/4g
I know that it's possible in the single sim version (just type *#*#4636#*#* in dialer), I've set 3G/4G only a while ago and works perfect. But i don't know if you can specify for each sim.
We have option to choose network modes in MIUI and other custom ROM's but there is no option to choose specific Network Band .
I have tried dialing code *#*#4636#*#* but in "set preferred network type" under phone information, there is no option to choose network band like specific LTE bands (TDD LTE or FDD LTE ) .
If anyone knows how to select specific network bands . Please do help.
I think you cannot...

I don't know man , that's the reason i have posted question
Is there any menu that allows us to force band 12 LTE connectivity?
On the Samsung devices *#2263# allowed selecting of the band.
Also, I assume the Z4 does not have VoLTE? When making a call it drops to hspa wcdma etc. Same as when it receives a call. Or it's not provisioned by T mobile due to e911 etc that I've read.
On T mobile.
Cheers.

Honor 9N is a latest budget phone from Huawei Honor.
For Indian customers, it comes with network settings as 4 options ( LTE/WCDMA/GSM Auto), (WCDMA, GSM Auto), (WCDMA only) and (GSM only).
While the network signal is weak we don't get LTE band as it jumps down to the lower signal WCDMA or GSM.
Here I will explain how to enable LTE only option in settings.
Steps:
Download the app : Settings database editor
Scroll down and look for "hw_networkmode_preference" and change its value from "9,3,2,1" to "9,3,2,1,11". save it.
Then restart your device.
Now the LTE only option will be available in Settings > Mobile Network.
Remember one thing : You will no longer receive or make a call when you are in LTE only signal. It's because only Jio supports 4G calls (VoLTE).
If you are using any other Network Service like Vodafone In, Idea... Etc, use LTE only option only when it's needed and change into ( LTE/WCDMA/GSM Auto) later to receive calls.
Thanks.:victory:
Screen shot from my Honor 9N.
Values : 9,3,2,1,11,12
Gives :
LTE/WCDMA/GSM Auto
WCDMA/GSM Auto
WCDMA Only
GSM Only
LTE Only
LTE/WCDMA Auto
Changing LTE bands
I bought Honor 9N in India. To my disappointment, I cannot use it with T-Mobile in the U.S. Is there any way to change it? (Full confession: My knowledge of software/hardware is pretty poor)
