As the title says, i am currently trying to get back stock and update it to MM build to get latest version of CM13 rom. But tried every god-damn method nothing worked. It says software install failed. Tried a lot of recoveries and ROMs which are official for GR5 aka honor 5x.
Tried recoveries:
KIW-L21 B140
KIW-L21 B130
KII-L21 B130
Tried firmwares:
Huawei_GR 5_Firmware_KII-L21_Android 6.0.1_EMUI 4.0_C636B310CUSTC636D001
Honor 5X_Firmware_KIW-L21_Android 6.0.1_EMUI 4.0_C432B330CUSTC432D001_Denmark
TWRP backups are working fine. But does not updates it to marshmallow. I think i need MM TWRP backup of it. If someone has please post it below so it will help other people as well as me.
It keeps saying software update failed. Doesn't even loads %1. And if i do this process with TWRP backup or CM installed device it still does not lets me install stock firmware.
I really don't know why it does like this since all the people can able to flash it to their devices while i cannot able to do it. I am facing this issue and it bugging me a lot.
Note: Both of the KIW-L21 and KII-L21 same model since 5.1.1 works both. Yet still does not lets me update the ROM to 6.0.1. so i think i need a MM TWRP backup if possible.
Edit: Provided screenshots below. PC sees it as MSM8916 for arm64(?) -this one is twrp backup of GR5 5.1.1-

Hello, I am currently in version b320 with stock recovery, b330 update does not exit from the settings. When I look at Firmware finder, It says it can be updated to version b330 from version b310. How to install or return the B310 version? And my bootloader unlocked.

you will need
HUAWEI UPDATE EXTRACTOR to get back to B310
and you will need Adb and fastboot
first download B310 firmware from huawei official website
open huawei update extractor app on you pc,then choose the path of downloaded firmware
extract BOOT,RECOVERY and SYSTEM
and put them into adb folder
open adb folder,connect your phone with the usb cable to your pc,open adb and fastboot app
enable usb debugging on your phone
type in adb:
adb devices
adb reboot bootloader
your phone will boot to bootloader and fastboot mode,then type fastboot flashboot BOOT.img
fastboot flash recovery RECOVERY.img
fastboot flash system SYSTEM.img

Hello! Some day i want to downgrade my Marshmallow to Lollipop. I installed stock ROM to my Honor 5X but in older android - Lollipop 5.1. And I get bricked it. On start on screen i can see first-step logo honor after it i can see second-step honor's logo and here i wait 30 minutes and nothing 45 minutes and nothing. Worse is this I can't back to my stock Marshmallow, when I'm installing my previous ROM - MM i get the same brick on second-step logo. I installed a few more ROMs and nothing. My bootloader is unlocked but when i try to flash cust/system by fastboot appear an error. FAILED (remote: Command not allowed). I think i tried everything, thank for help me.
PS. Sorry for bad English :/
EDIT.1 I tried to use this method from Thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-5x/help/ive-bricked-honor-5x-t3324225. But the same problem at fastboot.
cust and system won't get flashed on 5X, try force updating it with an UPDATE.APP package for your device.
Put it inside dload folder in root of the Sdcard, and press all three buttons (Vol UP + Vol DOWN + Power) after switching off your phone, to start updating.

If the Marshmallow update went through a bit, then you'll need transition package, so take on some pain to find it. It should be out there somewhere.

you can flash system.img and cust.img extracted from your Update.APP with HuaweiUpdateExtractor
fastboot boot twrp.img
then copy the files to the phone
then choose Install / Install Image / system.img or cust.img or recovery.img boot.img ..you choose
Also just saying your have a L21 does not help

Ok, one more time. When i'm installing any ROM B130 or B330, stock or official doesn't matter, the same problem. If you tried to install the wrong Update.app the updater would get to 5% and stop and eventually just reboot. Did you actually watch the update go to 100% and reboot ?
I think i found source of my problem. When i want to downgrade my system was B340.
I read something about downgrade. Without Transition Package I can't downgrade my system I can install only the same (B340) or higher.
This making brick when i'm installing B330 or B140.
Now i'm trying to install OTA B340 and i have another problem,
when i have B330 and installing B340 by small OTA 124MB I have stuck on 5% of installing. It becouse:
EDIT 2 : If you come from B330, don't try to flash the small B340 update as local update has simply been disabled by theHuawei/Honor devs !

Normally restoring a TWRP backup is no different than flashing System.img and boot.img
your bootloop is firmware related ... you need the full B340 package

Recently Huawei released the official Marshmallow update for Honor5x. I followed the update from setting but only to be restarted and brought to TWRP recovery without any updates. So, I downloaded the updated manually ( so I can flash via TWRP ) only to find the update is not in .image but .app, which means TWRP won't be able to flash the update.
So I took alternatives to install back the stock recovery from Huawei, which I succeeded and I got back my Huawei Stock Recovery. I then try updating via setting update, it downloaded the update, and installed it via stock recovery. But halfaway updating I got ' System Failed to Update '. I suspect it might have to do with my Cyanogen Mod that I installed 2 months ago.
Any idea how I can update to official Marshmallow?

Download latest firmware on a PC, use huawei update extractor to extract boot, system, Cust and recovery images.
Flash them in fastboot mode and then do a forced update.
(UPDATE.APP in dload folder in root of SD, turn off phone, press and hold power + vol up + vol down until boot)
YOU WILL LOSE ALL YOUR APPS AND DATA so make a backup before doing this.

Do I need to flash all 4 of them? I've flash the boot image and when I tried to flash the other files it gave me' size of image is larger than target devices '

Download you phone's stock firmware(refer to the file depot thread). After that, use Huawei Update Extractor and extract the files in update.app, you should get system.img, recovery.img, boot.img and flash them all using fastboot.

At this point you need fastboot; you can try with the commands "fastboot erase userdata" and "fastboot erase cache"

I could not find an recovery for Huawei Y6 2018 but I may tell you this:
You may unlock your bootloader and root your device.
How you may root it?
Get the boot.img of your model (you may get it extracting an update.app for your model)
Install Magisk Manager on your device and patch that boot.img
After that go to your PC, make sure you have usb debugging and OEM unlock enabled from dev settings on your phone and install "minimal adb&fastboot 15 sec installer" or something like that and put the patched boot.img in the folder of minimal adb and fastboot.
Now shutdown your device and after that press power and volume down for about 5 seconds and connect the usb cable ( that usb cable should be connected to PC). Now your device should go into fastboot. Now type fastboot devices(In minimal adb and fastboot console). It should show you an number, if nothing shows up then its not good.
If it shows up type fastboot flash boot boot.img
You are done. This may go wrong and may hard brick your device, don't blame me for that.
This requires your bootloader to be unlocked, to unlock it you need to get the bootloader unlock code from huawei, put your phone into fastboot and type fastboot oem unlock (code)

The update.app is basically the Stock Rom for your device.
Search google to find it.
Now extract huawei update extactor into an folder. And run the exe. (The link i sent)

Stock Rom isn't available yet for download.
I've tried installing TWRP using fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
That failed.
Then I used fastboot flash recovery/ramdisk recovery.img
Succes… But then its impossible to boot into TWRP. It automatically jumps to eRecovery.

Hm. Treble made some things different.
Also what recovery you wanted to flash?
I could not find any for Huawei Y6 2018 so you may hard brick your device if you use one for Y6 2015 etc.

I've tried flashing serveral twrp's. ClockWorkMod is definitely a no go. Then there is a mate10 tool. Tried that. Nothing. It says bootloader locked. While frp and bootloader are both unlocked.
I'm not worried about a hardbrick. It was a gift. So just toying around.
Found a stock firmware on easyfirmware.com . But they make you pay. So nope.
I'll just keep on googling until I find something that will work.
My coding is nill. So.... Hope and pray.

Well well well. If you tried to flash clockworkmod or twrp to your device, Huwei Y6 2018, from Huawei Y6 2015 that means hard brick lol, what were you thinking. See the description of the thread lul. You could have hard bricked your device, there are no custom recovery's for Huawei Y6 2018. So be more carefull, clockword recovery is already oold so there was no reason to be for an device from 2018.

I may port TWRP for your device, when i have time
I have managed to boot TWRP but it cant mount partition so got stuck in a twrp boot loop. i had to flash another recovery to be able to get to erecovery and boot.
ps: tried to root, dint work!

If you can boot into Twrp then boot into it and try to make an Nandroid Backup of stock Recovery.

I'm still on nougat.
So use the android app Firmware Finder to force the update to the lowest oreo firmware approved for your phone region ; You may have to force the update ti the highest nougat firmware approved for your region before...

Yes you have to flash back STF-L09C432B180 stock recovery for OTA updates to work.

The flashing of stock recovery was successful, but when i try the update then i have the following problem: "Verifying Update" is successful, but the installation of the udpate fails.
Is there any logfile where i can see the problem? Do i have to relock the bootloader?

a. normal OTA
or
b. android firmware finder app ; choose an approved firmware. You'll have to try with fullOTA-MF-PV, if not working with fullOTA-MF, if not working with OTA.
2. Update to oreo

Result with is the same with OTA and firmware. Device boots into recovery. Then verifying update package is ok. It starts with installing and fails at around 9%. Message is: Software install failed. Get help from: http://www.emui.com/emotiondownload.php?mod=restore . This page g
