mock location gets disabled automatically - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have zenfone 6 lollipop 5.0 rooted and xposed installed. Today i tried hacking pokemon go. But when i tick on allow mock location and get back it automatically gets off or tick gets removed immediately. I tried rebooting not exiting setting but didn't work. Plz help.

What do u mean by hacking a PokeGo if u enabled a mock location?

do you use mock mock location?

if you use xposed module "mock mock location" open it interface by xposed and set "settings" app on blacklist
(or just set pokemon on whitelist)

Thanks for the hint man. I had mock mock location and hide mock location both enabled then when i uninstall hide mock location and rebooted it suddenly worked. Don't know though if that was the reason. It's working now and hack is also working.

Dont u get banned for this tricks?

mock mock locations ensures no app can detect this. They would have to use very smart heuristics to detect your are using mock locations (and never be 100% sure) and given that stuff like this https://github.com/AHAAAAAAA/PokemonGo-Map works I'd say you are safe.

I am not banned till now. Maybe because i opened pokemon go after 3 4 days and from the start i started from new York so it seems possible to move there at that long time. Or maybe they haven't noticed yet bcoz they are too busy removing bugs on their new app. But i won't say it's safe 100% and try it. Try at your own risk.

It's not that hard really. A simple inquiry will show it. Also all they have to do is look for xposed or root. Either one can be blocked. (which there are rumors might be coming)

sorry guys,i have tried to uninstall hide mock locations, and have only mock mock locations on, yet as soon as I toggle on mock locations in developer options it gets unchecked immediately. How can I fix that?

Is your supersu updated. If not update it and upgrade its binary using custom recovery not normal. And don't just restart your phone after allowing mock mock location goto recovery and reboot it and check. It worked for me.

Pokémon Go

I bought a Moto E 2nd gen for my nephew to play Pokemon Go. Turns out that it is not officially supported. I have read that some people have had luck with sideloading, but my phone just sits at the loading screen and says "gps signal not found". I've turned location settings to high, ensured that the app is up to date, and is getting proper permissions. Mock locations is off.
Can anyone help me???
try reinstalling the app & make user you have google play games installed as it require g+ login to run the game

If your device isn't getting a GPS signal, try grabbing the app "GPS status toolbox" from the play store. Often just running that (outdoors with clear sky view) will reset stuck GPS for me. It also includes tools to refresh agps data.
If your GPS is working for other apps but not Pokemon, then I don't know.

Get the XDA Labs app (https://www.xda-developers.com/xda-labs/) and install through that (It has the most recent update)
Note: Our moto E does not run the game very well.
For locations: Make sure that the highest setting is actually on, and that the phone can use the cell network to determine location as well (Separate setting) The game works for me (When it is not lagging of course)

Ok, I did ALL of these, and I'm not sure which one worked, but the game is running now. Also Google Play Services updated (thought it already had). So the game is running, but now constantly says "location not found" on the top of the screen. It zeros in on my house, though. I can't thank you guys enough, but is there any way to fix this message?

Sounds like either bad internal GPS (Manufacture deformation), or just bad GPS in the area (Lot's of buildings?)

Okay so this is a work in progress, BUT...
I know how to spoof one's location to fool Pokemon Go. IDK if that is allowed here, so I will go into the less gray part of my theory. Instead of using a gps location spoofing app to fake my location, is there an app that will take my real location, and spoof the rest of the data to satisfy Pokemon Go?

Root the phone, install Xposed then install Xposed Pokemon Go module of choice (Found in XDA labs app) to do a REAL proper spoof since pokemon go can detect if mock locations is on and most xposed modules do not need that to work (since they use root access)

Thanks, but the 2nd issue was caused and corrected by me. I had "allow mock locations" ticked from my troubleshooting last night.

Mock location issue (call management)

Has anyone else tried to set a mock location app on your V10 yet? No matter what app I try or anything I do with the location settings it will not allow me to set a mock location app. Instead it just says "call management". This is very frustrating. I tried the same exact steps on my wife's mto x and it worked perfectly. Has anyone else dealt with this or figured out a fix? Please help and thanks.
Settings > General > About Phone > Software Info > Build Number
Press is about 10x's
It will let you know when you're a "Developer"
Back out to the General Sub-Menu
Find Developer Options and Click Mock Locations.

Yeah I know I am already a developer, it's under the developer options that I'm having the issue. When I try to choose a mock location app it never allows it, instead I get the mysterious "call management" message. Thank you for trying to help though.
I had to uninstall antutu benchmark for mine to work.

Hmm I don't have anything like that installed, but I guess I can use trial and error by systematically removing apps and checking if it works. I'm not sure I really want to do that though
did you manage to solve it? I have a BQ Aquaris M5 and the same problem. Besides having mock location on, some app do not recognise it because after i select one of them, the phone shows the "call management" message

Is there a way to fool apps into thinking location is enabled?

Is there any way of fooling apps into thinking location is enabled when it is not? I don't want to spoof my location AKA "fake my GPS" I just want apps to think location is enabled when it's not. Some apps require this and it's a battery drain I'd like to avoid. Thanks!

Interesting app but not quite what I'm looking for. It just denies apps your location (for example) but apps still need you to enable location (even though they're not getting the actual location because of app ops) so my battery still gets drained. But this is an interesting app, so thanks!

Also interesting but it's the same thing.
Btw I did find what I was looking for: lataclysm, an xposed module. On Android Pie is currently not asking me to enable location and app gets fooled into using the one sent via the module. Apparently lataclysm it's quite "mainstream", not sure why it didn't come up on my search.

Notifications

My Gmail notifications are showing up intermittently in the status bar. I've checked the settings in the app and on the phone and all seem to be correct. I've also cleared the cache in the app but the notifications are still intermittent. If anyone has had this problem and know the fix I would appreciate yours and all other input. I am beginning to think it's related to the latest Gmail update.
do you have a firewall blocking Google services? thats what i have and lots of apps use Google services and it might be why. or maybe quiet time mode could be switched on or scheduled that you don't know of...
No firewall. I don't think quiet mode is on but I'll check. Thanks for the response.

Sorry...I meant to ask you what firewall you're using
AFwall firewall it needs root. you can use no-root firewall for non-rooted androids, it fakes a vpn connection and does filters, just as good really. google apps and services will be find a way to stealing your data no matter what you do.
