I should have known better than to buy another ZTE phone!! It won't charge anymore!! I only charged it twice since I got the damn thing... it's not the cable or the charger because I also have an Anker charger and power bank along with a OnePlus 3 and it's cable and charger for reference... What a load of crap, the last ZTE phone I had fail on my family me was three months ago when the capacitive keys stopped working, that phone was brand new from MetroPCS too... Stay away from this phone, I'm glad that I kept my OnePlus 3 just in case I didn't want to jump ship...

Who's talking about customer service here? I'm talking about quality control... I bought my Axon 7 using Amazon Prime, UPS should pick it up today or Monday, and the refund is already processing, no worries. With OnePlus or any other PayPal purchase, I go straight to PayPal and open a dispute demanding a refund,no worries there either...
I was so hyped for the Axon 7, I was already regretting jumping the gun with the OnePlus 3, but I should've known better... I realize liked a the value, features, and attention to detail ZTE showed, but their QC is still trash... I also need root for my general and YouTube ad blockers, I can't be without them, looks like the ZTE xda&oq developer will be nothing but tumbleweeds yet again...

I don't understand why you are blaming QC all they do is inspect the phone after it is built there is supposed to be a Technician that tests it before it gets to QC but his job is to make sure it is functioning properly. The battery can't be checked to see if it is going to fail after so many charges that's an unknown issue. It really sucks when it fails not long after you get it that is something I agree with you on just saying not a QC issue and no I'm not a QC person I spent my entire career as a electronic technician the battery was built buy some other company not ZTE
The phone isn't even actually out yet, most pre-orders haven't shipped. Yet you are complaining about the phone not having root yet? What the heck do you expect?
Sorry you got a lemon man. I have mine and it's wonderful. No issues here at all.

Mine seems solid so far. Seems like you could get it repaired/replaced via Passport 2.0 though.
Edit - ZTE's support can't be much worse than Lenovorola.
A user on ZTE Community had his camera fail and his dealings with customer service sounded terrible. They wanted to charge him a holding fee of $400 for an advanced replacement. Also mentioned getting charged $79 for the passport fee on a defectice device.

I know it suck when this stuff happens, I'd be pissed also. But you can get a lemon from anyone. Amazon is great to deal with so an exchange shouldn't be an issue. Or just return it and be done with ZTE, up to you.
But other are happy with the Axons 7 so I'm still willing to give them a shot.

I remember when the Moto X Pure came out - I sent 3 back for lose, or missing, pieces and the back peeling off. One had some pixel issues as well.
Then when the Nexus 6P came out - I sent 4 of those back for QC issues. 1) Low speaker volume and crackling 2) camera not working 3) One speaker stopped working 4) something sounded lose inside when I shook it. My 5th one wasn't flawless either, but it was better than the other 4.
I sent my first OnePlus 2 back because the captive keys and home button didn't work properly, you'd have to press them several times to get it to respond.
Only phones I haven't had QC issues with were the Samsung phones, but I hate everything about them (except the screen and camera). Even my last iPhone (I think in 2012) had QC issues and I had to get it replaced due to the mic dying.
But it does worry me a little to see the low number of people on this forum and so many issues? Luckily mine have all been software compatibility issues that a reset will solve.
I wouldn't say there are a lot of issues. I've just heard about the camera and Dolby crashing plus a Wifi issue and that's going between here and ZTE Community.
Other than those, there are just a few small bugs looming about.

Putting "a hold" on your credit card, to insure that you actually do mail back the broken phone is not the same as "charging you $400". It is also standard practice for many manufacturers to do this, so random people aren't just calling, claiming a faulty device, and receiving free new phones in the mail without ever mailing back the broken one. A business must look after their bottom line.

My Samsung Galaxy Note 3 had the physical home button die within the first few weeks, and I had to send it back for repair. It can happen to any manufacturer. I really hope mine isn't faulty. Always a big let-down if you're excited for a new device. However, if it is, I'll just return it and move on.
When did Q and A section became ***** and moan section. You have a chance of getting a defective item with any vendor and any brand. Return it and move on.

Hi, I've decided to cancel my order of the OnePlus X, but the order state is already: 'processing'. OnePlus spokeperson told me that i can refuse the package when it ships to me and they will refund me the money.
My question is, will they refund the WHOLE cost (Phone+shipement) or just the cost of the phone?
Thanks in advance.
Why didn't you ask this to them? :3
I did, but they respond at best once a day(I know they have a lot of customers at the moments, so I'm okay with it). I'm asking here, maybe someone had a similar problem.
I'm in the same boat. I opened also a PayPal dispute as they advised. I'm also not sure the express shipping costs will be refunded. Please keep this thread updated with your and/or others people experiences.
Pretty much sure they won't refund shipping cost, they'll probably also charge you for return shipping.

Sounds fair to me. They shipped it in good faith that they had a legitimate order.
Yeah i agree with @CafeKampuchina
Why buy a phone if you won't want it?? Such a stupid thing to do.
I bought the phone with an invite since it was going to expire in a few hours, but the next day i saw how unfinished this product is (software/AA cpu/camera/sd problems etc adn how I could have bought something better for this price) so I've submitted a ticket to cancel my order while it was still at "pending shipment".
//NOTE it was still at: Pending shipment, which means they should have just cancel the order and refund me the money as it states here:
"You can cancel your order before it ships by submitting a ticket. Please make sure to choose Cancellation as the issue!
However, once your order status has been changed to “Processing”, your package will be on its way to the address that you provided. In this case, you may refuse the parcel and send us a cancellation request saying you've done so. We'll issue you a full refund when we confirm the package has been returned to our warehouse"
I have submitted the ticket at 11:00PM, however the guy have responded to my ticket at 4:00AM, and it changed to "processing" at ~2:00/3:00AM. To be honest I dont see this as my fault, but I've not heard from him since and the phone is on its way to my house.

You should sell it unopened as soon as it arrives.. This phone has a lot of demand so no harm, and you will make someone very happy..!
I agree with the above, just sell it.
Oh and next time don't believe every person who's complaining about issues, because some people are compulsive moaners.

Well Im coming from N4 which had pretty bad audio quality (bad speaker, subpar headphone quality, terrible call quality) so maybe it will not bother me that much.
Also the thing I noticed about people, especially in India, when they are hyped about a device they prise everything about it without noticing any shortcomings.
Anyway, if I have to lose 20% if the price in the process of returning the phone then I'm going to keep it.

Yeah I had a nexus 4 as well mate, which my gf now owns. I used to listen to it via headphones, it didint sound too bad but then again I wasn't running stock. Speaker was pretty poor tbh, both quality and positioning.
I'm happy with the whole package of the OPX, it has its shortcomings but all of them seem software related. Yes there is only 1 speaker on the OPX but the quality is pretty good and the position is great, and I understand that they had a budget to work with. Which seems even more admirable considering what they have achieved.
Keep the phone. I think many people just keep panicking and overreacting when they find some bugs. You have to remember that as usual people that are satisfied with their purchase tend to forget to write reviews since they're busy playing with their phone and are happy with it, but almost everyone who's not happy is going to write everywhere how crappy this phone is.
I'm pretty sure that you'll like the phone more than you think you will. Also trust in devs. Most of the bugs that you'll find will be gone by the end of the year

Guys this is my two cents worth. Purchase your note 7 supplies like cases etc... at a discount price. Wait a few weeks and get the new fixed Note 7 most likely at a discounted price. If the note 7 never comes back then returned the goodies no problem.

Makes absolutely no sense.
Of course it does you think people are gojg to purchase note 7 full price after a massive recal for a major safety issue like going up in flames. No way some incentives are needed to get people back. You will see.
Makes no sense, this also goes to show whats wrong with this generation of entitlement. Samsung does not owe us any type of compensation for what has happened with the Note 7. Stuff happens. If they just so happen to feel generous then so be it but other than that be happy with your phone or go else ware.
hey, think, think, you really believe samsung is going to sell note 7 a the price of a second rate device? come on, be serious
We will see ......I like Samsung and I wiill get one no matter what, I have s Note 3 now but lets face Note 7 for the mass consumer its pretty much dead. It blows up dude that is not jst an antenna problem. It will take a pretty heavy dutty propaganda campaign to turn the tide on this one. Samsung will offer incentives how much its any ones guess but right now you can get cases etc for it at a pretty low price. Check Amazon.

The Note 7 recall could change how the public sees Samsung smartphones, and that is arguably the biggest challenge that the company is facing right now.

I disagree.
They have put consumers in danger and for some caused injuries and damage. I would say that goes beyond "stuff happens".
For others whose devices have not exploded (like mine) it has certainly cause differing levels of stress and nervousness having the device not knowing if or when it will pop. Im a pretty chill guy but Id be lying if I said it didnt worry me at this point when i charge device. And this whole ordeal has changed how I use my device day to day which is not acceptable.
Then there is samsung asking for everyone to power down the devices and use what exactly in place of it? Not everyone is fortunate to have multiple devices lying around.
Then there is the train wreck of a recall...ive signed up for it and called numerous times and none of the CSRs knows anything and all give different answers which then causes more stress and uneasiness as you have no clue whats going on and clearly neither do they.
Oh and they expect us to drive and drop the defective devices off at drop points. Easy enough for some not for others...me personally im not lifting a finger to drop my old one off anywhere...i have better things to do. You want it...come and pick it up...you screwed it up in the first place.
Then theres the issue of going on an airplane with it...not even going to go there.
Oh yeah.. what about those of us who spent $50+ for ghost armour or similiar things front and back? Of course i have to pay for it AGAIN when i get my new device...whenever the hell that may be. Thats also not acceptable, samsung should be paying for it.
So yeah....your damn straight they owe us, the people who pre ordered and do so every single year and buy multiple samsung devices each year for many years all outright. And in the Note 7s case If I pay $1200 for a device i damn sure do not expect it to blow up in my face...literally
I am the least self entitled person and anyone here who knows me knows thats true but im this case yes I am expecting compensation from samsung for this major screw up.
Stuff happens this is true, but if it was that minor would the US and CAN governments be involved? Highly unlikely.

This will absolutely change the publics opinion and trust in samsung....to a massive degree.
Its not the recall thats going to cost them its the loss of trust from the public which equals lost current sales and future sales and in the long run market share. Their market share has already droppef and it will get worse before it gets better.
They will need to bend over backwards with incentives and freebees to get people back to where we were in buying samung products.
This goes well beyond mobile as well...dont think for a second this wont hurt their other areas of interest..TVs,appliances etc

I still think once they fix it it wil be cheaper to get one or there will be great incentives.

I believe the Note 7 its pretty much a done deal. Only people like us that really want the phone will purchase one. Main stream I believe the note 7 missed the station long time ago. On the other hand even died hards like us dont like to give our money away. I have been searching and I will consider something like the moto z force if the price of the Note 7 remains the same. Remember its on a no fly list and will take a while to be removed if ever. Note 7 its a tainted phone untill the day it dies. Its sad but in reality , the bad perception out there will not change.

I received my replacement in the mail on the 15th. It's been fine, other than the occasional stutter and lag. Stupid SD820.
The heat is on the charger this time. Even when fast charging feature is disabled. I'd expect the charger to get warm. Though my Note7 has already been replaced and firmware updated, I still disable fast charging to keep the battery from stress.

No, aside from the (still relatively small) number of fire incidents that has since been resolved with the recall, this product has no more issues than ANY other phone. It just has endless dumb journalists who jump on the hype bandwagon reporting anything that might just connect the story to a Samsung device, blowing it completely out of proportion just to get viewers/readers/clicks. All that achieves is endless knee jerk reactions from the ignorant authorities and technology illiterate public.
Even on XDA people generally come here to vent frustration about either hardware/software issues on their particular device (that's every phone XDA caters for) or to complain about a manufacturer of said device. Giving the impression that their phone is just a complete failure.
Stop worrying about news reports, enjoy your phone. In the very unlikely event you get a dud, get it replaced or refunded. Importantly, come back here and let people know how great it is! It's an awesome phone!
Eventually all this BS scare mongering will die down and we can put it behind us.

Here, here!
It is a shame, this amazing device will not get to people who could have had a great Smartphone. But this means the next Note will really be worth waiting for. The Note 7 will be the first device that my wife and I both have, she asked for it when she saw what you can do with the S Pen and digital paint.
Got my replacement today. Can't find the display scaling option in the updated firmware for the life of me.

According to sammobile Galaxy Note 7 sales in Europe will be resumed on October 28.
According to mashable You can now use the Samsung Galaxy Note7 on planes in India.
Assuming that the accounts of the v2 fires are correct,
1) if you have a note 7, might as well keep it until you need the cash. I'm pretty certain that Samsung will discontinue the note 7 and try to buy back all the existing ones at full price. There wouldn't be a time limit to return it since it's owners right to keep it and if they decide to stop buying it back, it'll just look even worse when another one goes up in smokes. This means you have essentially a loaner/ beater phone at least until a phone you like better comes out. S8 might be only half a year from now. Regardless you should be careful especially if you don't have a v1. If you leave your phone in water when you're not using it, it should mitigate fires.
2) if you have a v1, you're better off since these only burn if you're charging. I think if you use the fast wireless charger, it'll be even more safe.
overall, I highly regret exchanging my v1 for a 2
Sorry, but assume makes an ass out of u and me. I'm happy with my Note.

This phone is worthless now even with the replacement units. The shops won't buy it used.

I think the problems with the V2 are overblown and they have not been fully investigated. Suspiciously, some owners of faulty devices won't give them to Samsung for inspection. But rumour of production being halted is worrying. I'll not hand in my device. Best smartphone I ever owner.

Best device I've ever owned too.. But if they won't lift the ban on planes, I'm have to give this up when it's recalled. Worse if it's not recalled but the ban isn't lifted.
Very upset about this media fuss....
I am very happy with my v2 Note 7 but,...
- I expect little to none future support.
- I fly quite a lot so I expect some frustration
- extremely poor value if I want to sell it.
Sadly, future of the N7 do not look nice. Even though I think it is the best phone at present.
So sad...

My fall back is to get the dual SIM one plus three. Relatively cheap and can use on aeroplanes. Keep Note 7 for other activities.

I owned "v1" for 45 day (from Aug 17th to Oct 1st ), daily charge, no issue at all.
I own "v2" for 9 days now (from Oct 1st), still no issue with daily charge. not even slight warming.
I am not sure if my rational is valid, but once the device go through a dozen or so complete power cycle, there is properly nothing wrong with the battery , since it's a manufacturing defect, it should be caught early if it exist.
And I do believe it's a manufacturing defect as opposed to a defect by design, because if it was by design most likely there will be a lot more cases than a dozen out of millions.
If you are concerned about your device, I guess for now just disable the fast charging and only charge it to 80% or so.

Are you sure US carriers will let you trade it in at anytime ? Because I want to get the iPhone 7 plus but verizon won't ship till late November.. will they let me keep it till then or is there a window to return my note 7? It is also leased will they reimburse the payments and tax that i paid? Seems so complicating

Samsung Kills Off Galaxy Note 7 Smartphone...Sorry to say...So Long...Goodbye!
http://www.nytimes.com/2016/10/12/business/international/samsung-galaxy-note7-terminated.html?_r=0
Some real brilliant mouths out there are saying Sammy should kill the Note line all together..I think that's a bad mistake because that's Samsungs Flagship that battles the Iphone juggernaut and I will forever be pissed off if I cant have my Sammy Note device!
I do feel that this totally sucks ..I love the phone and have the V2
I have ordered the Pixel XL but it simply doesn't have the capabilities of the Note 7 so I am in a pickle I guess I can keep it till the G8 comes out but I sure hate to think Ill have to eat $928 in the long run and "YES" I was thinking while in bed late night....what if all of a sudden I smell smoke ??
For those of us that switched carriers and don't have a backup phone, this kind of leaves us in an inconvenient position. Samsung should at least give us a loaner phone until we decide the phone we want if they want us to return the note 7. For now, using the note 7 as a loaner device is more rational than returning it and buying a phone that we are not content with.
Also, make sure to not bring the Note 7 on the plane! That is one place that can have tragic consequences not worth the risk.
There will be some collectors and last few pieces will go for double the price

All these problems are only in USA
here in dubai my replacement works fine :fingers-crossed:
Heres my take on the situation. Samsung has NOT completed their investigation yet, and until they do, for all anyone knows, the devices were mistreated horribly by their users. Out of FOUR MILLION phones, only 35 explode, and of the replacement units only 7? Lets say the first generation was bad, and only count the replacements. 7 out of 4 million. That is a 0.000175% chance of your phone exploding. So, they discontinued the line for less than an even 1% chance, without waiting for the investigation to be completed? COME ON. A 0.000175 chance of a phone exploding is not enough to say that the 7 users who had problems... Didn't tamper with the phone in some horrible way: IE severe drop testing, severe underwater testing, etc. They arent even considering user error as a factor here.
I for one will not even be looking into returning mine until they announce the investigation is complete AND announce the results of said investigation.

2.5 million units sold.
35 reported cases when Samsung announced the first exchange. There could be more in between.
And the final nail was 6 cases in as many days, all replacement units in the US alone.
I am also very reluctant to return my Note 7. But Samsung themselevs can't figure out what's actually causing it to blow up. The incidents appear to be very spontaneous and random. Even when the unit is turned off or not charging.
I am also not sure if I should take the risk and keep it. I know, officially and legally, we've already been advised to shut it off and not use it. So any damages or injuries from here is purely at our own risk.
Samsung could continue with their investigations. Question is, if they finally figure out what went wrong, will they refurbish it and continue supporting the device for diehards like us? Or will they just take this lesson and apply it to the next model?
There is also a possibility that Samsung could release a firmware to cripple the phone entirely. They managed to limit the charging to 60/80%, they can do far worse.
Too many questions, so little answers.
The phone has been permanently discontinued now, and Samsung has to find a way to replace ALL Note 7s. So I guess this will be a run on the stores. Hopefully people can get other replacement devices, but I have no doubt there will be those that just wont give up the phone. Good luck on rolling the dice with your safety.

Thats it, there are now ::edit:: 7 confirmed fires for REPLACEMENT Note 7's. Returning mine tomorrow for most likely store credit until the Pixel is released. Or I'll have to go with the Iphone 7+ until next year. There is literally nothing that I disliked about this phone, but it seems like a :edit: 2nd recall is just around the corner.

Mine's already on swappa. Will have to lower the price and accept trades at this point. I just want it gone this has been the worst experience of my life. Is it a great phone? Absolutely. But the lack of proper QA testing is a direct result of these issues.
I was hoping to do a trade for the pixel and that's not happening which is a shame

I was also tired of all the drama with the Note 7. I swapped my Note 7 for the s7 edge yesterday since the major carriers are letting you because of the phone exploding on the plane incident. So far so good, I think it's a lot smoother than the Note 7 just sucks not having the S-Pen but oh well.

I had the S7 Edge already, and I don't want to cough up more money for a phone that I already had and sold at a major loss.
Since I can't get behind the Pixel hype, it's time I go back to Apple. Samsung needs to reprioritize. I'm done getting screwed by them.

ultimately, I think the V20 is a nice phone. But certainly just cant touch the Note 7 in terms of overall features and quality. Its a tough decision. I would tell people to just get a dumb phone for cash and have them refund the difference. I mean, nothing attractive will be out between now and the next upgrade cycle I think.

A recall seems far more likely at this point than the thing going on sale to new customers. Ever since the recall was issued, new customers have not been able to buy one. And only for a little under 3 weeks have people been able to exchange their faulty ones for "safe" ones.
I'm unfortunately done with the Note 7. I tried every front to try to give Samsung my money. They just won't take it.

"Ever since the recall was issued, new customers have not been able to buy one." That's not true, I bought an AT&T N7 from Best Buy's online

I thought they resumed sales like over a week ago.
Here is the story from gsmarena.

Here is the latest from theverge
http://www.theverge.com/2016/10/9/13219878/samsung-galaxy-note-7-replacement-fire-fifth-statement
Samsung stated that they will move forward with whatever the cpsc recommends. Which most likely is going to be a full discontinue of the product and issuing similar product replacements or refunds for returned devices. I doubt they will be forced to do much more than that. And tbh they are a massive Corp, they won't give people more than probably a 20$ gift card for their troubles. They have no incentive I think to lose even more money.
What I'm curious about though is if they will begin remote wiping phones in order to get them all returned. It's pretty easy to do on their end. I doubt the CPSC will allow the devices to be out in the wild if it's determined a design flaw.
And btw all outlets have halted or have been instructed by the cpsc to halt sales of the Note 7. Some of them permanently like ATT.

Then you were one of the lucky ones. I haven't been able to from any site or store.
This sounds like a gossip site now smh.. Note 7 is in reduced production while investigating.. Not stopped.. & note 7 firmware is still getting developed. US sales are suspended till more clarity is made of the current events... Plz stop making a mountain out of mohill..... Now back to your regular scheduled programming
Directly from Samsung's Press/media website:
"We are working with relevant regulatory bodies to investigate the recently reported cases involving the Galaxy Note7. Because consumers’ safety remains our top priority, Samsung will ask all carrier and retail partners globally to stop sales and exchanges of the Galaxy Note7 while the investigation is taking place.
We remain committed to working diligently with appropriate regulatory authorities to take all necessary steps to resolve the situation. Consumers with either an original Galaxy Note7 or replacement Galaxy Note7 device should power down and stop using the device and take advantage of the remedies available."
https://news.samsung.com/global/sam...note7-while-further-investigation-takes-place
So there you go. Even if production is supposedly not fully halted (at least the battery construction portion is for sure), you cant get the device anywhere. So it really doesnt matter. I do however think its entirely irresponsible to put yourself and your family members at risk with the device simply because you dont believe Samsung's "gossip". If you or your loved ones are injured by the device then its basically your own fault at this point. Whats further disturbing to me is that people are actually trying to circumvent the safety precaution update on ORIGINAL Note 7 devices?!? Like wtf?! Do you really want to have the thing blow up? Idk, I dont mean to be argumentative or dismissive in any way but I think its a bit ignorant to push aside the fact that there may be a design fault in the phone itself. Plus, Im sure most of us can swing $20-30 for a temp phone while this blows over. Of which an ATT rep - in store - told me they would refund the full value, along with all the accessories I bought for my Note.
