Hi, I've decided to cancel my order of the OnePlus X, but the order state is already: 'processing'. OnePlus spokeperson told me that i can refuse the package when it ships to me and they will refund me the money.
My question is, will they refund the WHOLE cost (Phone+shipement) or just the cost of the phone?
Thanks in advance.
Why didn't you ask this to them? :3
I did, but they respond at best once a day(I know they have a lot of customers at the moments, so I'm okay with it). I'm asking here, maybe someone had a similar problem.
I'm in the same boat. I opened also a PayPal dispute as they advised. I'm also not sure the express shipping costs will be refunded. Please keep this thread updated with your and/or others people experiences.
Pretty much sure they won't refund shipping cost, they'll probably also charge you for return shipping.

Sounds fair to me. They shipped it in good faith that they had a legitimate order.
Yeah i agree with @CafeKampuchina
Why buy a phone if you won't want it?? Such a stupid thing to do.
I bought the phone with an invite since it was going to expire in a few hours, but the next day i saw how unfinished this product is (software/AA cpu/camera/sd problems etc adn how I could have bought something better for this price) so I've submitted a ticket to cancel my order while it was still at "pending shipment".
//NOTE it was still at: Pending shipment, which means they should have just cancel the order and refund me the money as it states here:
"You can cancel your order before it ships by submitting a ticket. Please make sure to choose Cancellation as the issue!
However, once your order status has been changed to “Processing”, your package will be on its way to the address that you provided. In this case, you may refuse the parcel and send us a cancellation request saying you've done so. We'll issue you a full refund when we confirm the package has been returned to our warehouse"
I have submitted the ticket at 11:00PM, however the guy have responded to my ticket at 4:00AM, and it changed to "processing" at ~2:00/3:00AM. To be honest I dont see this as my fault, but I've not heard from him since and the phone is on its way to my house.

@Qbsti
You should sell it unopened as soon as it arrives.. This phone has a lot of demand so no harm, and you will make someone very happy..!
I agree with the above, just sell it.
Oh and next time don't believe every person who's complaining about issues, because some people are compulsive moaners.
I for one an totally happy with my OPX, and I have had it for a week now. Most of those issues you mention are down to software an OP team are already working on a fix.

In Poland there is little to none demand for the phone. On our "ebay", Allegro.pl you can find many offers, but no one is buying.
I guess I'm stuck with this phone at least untill the next nexus with sd820.
Jackshot - I'm kind of worried about the camera and low audio quality /w headphones. I'm long past being a mobile gamer

All the threads on OP forums are praising this device. No one has said that audio is bad, and neither have I. I've actually listened via earphones for about 2-3 hours this week and it sounds perfectly fine to me.

Well Im coming from N4 which had pretty bad audio quality (bad speaker, subpar headphone quality, terrible call quality) so maybe it will not bother me that much.
Also the thing I noticed about people, especially in India, when they are hyped about a device they prise everything about it without noticing any shortcomings.
Anyway, if I have to lose 20% if the price in the process of returning the phone then I'm going to keep it.

Yeah I had a nexus 4 as well mate, which my gf now owns. I used to listen to it via headphones, it didint sound too bad but then again I wasn't running stock. Speaker was pretty poor tbh, both quality and positioning.
I'm happy with the whole package of the OPX, it has its shortcomings but all of them seem software related. Yes there is only 1 speaker on the OPX but the quality is pretty good and the position is great, and I understand that they had a budget to work with. Which seems even more admirable considering what they have achieved.
Keep the phone. I think many people just keep panicking and overreacting when they find some bugs. You have to remember that as usual people that are satisfied with their purchase tend to forget to write reviews since they're busy playing with their phone and are happy with it, but almost everyone who's not happy is going to write everywhere how crappy this phone is.
I'm pretty sure that you'll like the phone more than you think you will. Also trust in devs. Most of the bugs that you'll find will be gone by the end of the year

performance is very good
camera ist okay although helen said they will release manual mode camera sometime
sound quality is fine. i dont hear any difference to other devices
battery life is good but can be tuned software wise
display is really good
i think most problems this phone has are due to the immature software
the opx is a really good phone for the price point

Guys, I totally agree with the two main points of discussion:
1) I am so pissed that when I pre-ordered the Prime on Nov 22 and wasnt given a date (officially and unofficially) I was expecting it in my hands immediately. And now to find out that the date is Dec 19 is such a disappointment to me. Why wherent my unfounded expectations met?!?!?! I will take my business elsewhere out of hatred for Asus for letting me down even! HOW DARE THEY!
2) the Battery/speaker sucks! OMG!!!! How come that thing I dont have doesnt have that thing I thought/wanted! Its like come on, give me everything I want IMMEDIATELY! I want it to feed my dog, wipe my ass, and give me a rubbie! UH! THE BATTERY IS 10:02 Hours instead of 10:15!?!?! WTF FUFUFUFUFUF ASUS! The speaker on this thin ass tablet is not fit well? WTF! I plan on using this tablet as my home stereo!
ASUS, HOW DARE YOU NOT MEET MY IDIOTIC EXPECTATIONS WITH A PRODUCT THAT ISNT SHIPPED OR IN MY HAND?!?!?!?!?!
/sarcasm. ill sit here and wait for my shipment. gracias.
EDIT: made to help the humor-less nerds understand
I laughed when I saw the tread title then even more so from reading your post. I was like oh lord, here we go again..lmfao. Your post basically summarizes what most complaints have been about. Glad to see it was a joke, a good one at that.
You have to admit speaker placement blows and wasnt thouht out very well at all.
First thought You're a super troll

Wait.......I'm sensing some sarcasm here....
You know what was a REAL let down?
Your mom.
I'm disappointed with the placement and look of the camera and flash on the back of the Prime. It kinda looks like one of these faces
So now every time I'm going to look at it, I'm going to think my Prime is giving me a goofy look and it'll make me self conscious. I have enough problems already without being judged by my tablet.
I was hoping the Prime would cure Cancer and wipe out all traces of AIDS. I was wrong.

That made me laugh harder than I have all day.
Why send a negative voice? For those who don't know better and sees the title is likely gonna turn away from buying it. I know its suppose to be sarcastic, but.. anyway.
I was hoping that this thread would be filled with whiners and canceling their orders so I can get mine quicker!
Nice Job OP
I love this tablet and my biggest complaint is that I can't get it fast enough.
That said, why do some people get weird when we discuss a product, it's good and bad points? After all nothing is going to be perfect. Nothing is expected to be perfect. Those of us that are criticizing the speaker are just labeled "whiners"? Come on, it's just a discussion. Nothing to get snarky about.
Guess what, the Transformer Prime is NOT perfect. It's incredibly awesome in my opinion, I need it now. But I think it's okay for me to wish the speaker was better and pray the battery is decent as well.
By far the biggest problem is that I don't have the damn thing my hands yet!!
Plain and simple....if you want a product made the way you want it, build it yourself. Invest the money that it would take and build yourself a tablet. Then as you contemplate what to include in your build, you'll notice that you can't put this or that in it, and then you end up right where the manufacturers are: the tablet you tried to build that was already built.

On a semi-serious note, I think the only problem with people complaining about the speaker(s) is that, so far, nobody here has actually HEARD it (them). And the reviews are all over the map: one said the sound is "full and loud" or somesuch, while another said the sound is disappointing (or somesuch), and the others seem to fall somewhere in between. So, we can't go by the reviews, meaning we'll have to wait to get the thing to judge for ourselves.

But this is the "Eee Pad Transformer Prime General" forum. We came here to discuss it. Naturally nobody has this in their hands other than reviewers. So we have to discuss what they told us. I'm not sure what the problem is with that.
I ordered my TF201 32GB from Office Depot and received it in early January. Unboxed it, turned it on, installed some apps etc. then left charging overnight. Next morning noticed unit was not charged and down to 25% or so. Used another outlet but no improvement. Then froze the power unit as suggested in the forum. Called Asus Technical Support and troubleshooted the unit. CSR convinced it was the unit itself; asked me to ship unit to Texas facility (at my dime of course). 2 weeks later unit was shipped back (took 9 days since it was Fedex Ground from CA to NY!).
Unboxed unit and noticed that battery at 5%! Plugged in and... Nothing. Not charging!! Called ASUS - probably same idiot with whom I spoke the first time. Asked me to ship it back (on my dime) again to Texas but different RMA! Had no explanation as to why the RMA number should be different but I guess whoever they outsourced repairs to does not want to report to ASUS that they did not fix an issue the first time..CSR told me to only ship unit AGAIN. I challenged him that it may makse sense because, god forbid, it may be charger at fault! He said "ok" ship it back too.. thank you very kind of you to keep an open mind MR. ASUS CSR... I also mentioned that it seems unfair I pay for shipping again... so he sent me a Fedex label.. ground of course so 3-4 days to Texas (no ground pick up on weekends) and then another few days for the geniuses at whoever does the repair to figure it out and another 5-6 days to ship back.. so all in all 6 weeks since purchase and I have not used my Prime.. I had bought my wife an ASUS UX21 since she travels a lot for work but I returned it to Amazon for a refund within the 30 day window.. had to pay a fee to return but hey probably saved her (and me) a lot of aggravation.. her Toshiba ultrabook is working just fine thank you very much. Totally frustrated by idiots at ASUS. I cancelled the dock purchase at Office Depot too. As much as I do not like Apple products at least you can find an Apple Store everywhere and get a replacement and/or a technician to take a look and troubleshoot.. and iPads cost the same as a PRIME.. I am done with Asus.. once this is fixed it goes on Craigslist or eBay. Not sure what else I'll get.. anyone want to order my ASUS? It will be cheap.. once I get it back.
This reminds me of an experience we had with an Asus RMA, it was one of their eeePC models (back when they were the hot thing to get). We had to send the device back a total of three or four times before the issue was finally properly repaired. Asus can be kinda poor when it comes to some more obscure RMA situations, I totally understand your frustration.

Sounds completely understandable on your stance. Unacceptable customer service. Damn Asus, is the RMA place really that bad. Not all are bad experiences but there's been too many bad stories popping up lately. Good luck on choosing new device. As much as i like my Prime, if I had to go through what some people have, I'd give up on them also.
@OP
Why didn't you take it back to Office Depot in the first place? That's why retailers exist, to deal with the customer.
My 14-day return window is up today. I'm bringing back the TFP.
Even though I've had no problems with mine, I've heard too many stories like this. Too much negativity surrounding this device to allow me to enjoy it. I will downgrade my specs requirement and will go with the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1.

Have I read this right? You have a perfectly fine functioning tfp, but are returning it because others have had bad experiences, and you have heard too many stories!
This sounds like you give more credence to other peeps woes rather than go by your own
Experiences. I had better not mention all the negative stories I have heard about the galaxy tab as I would hate to ruin your enjoyment of that tablet!!!
What
Is wrong with enjoying the ..perfect tfp that you have? Remember that peeps are far more likely to moan than praise, for every negative issue on this board there are many many more happy punters who have not posted anything anywhere

Yes...you heard it right. I previously had the Galaxy Tab and was fairly happy with it's performance (sans ICS). Really wanted to try the TFP...so I returned the GT and got one to try myself even with all of the negativity expressed here. While I encountered no real issues myself...I couldn't help think about whether or not the TFP would become but a blip on the radar for ASUS support and dev efforts. Sure, the TFP is newer technology than the GT....perhaps I'm just not willing to be one of their beta testers. The GT has been out long enough now to iron out a lot of the wrinkles...plus, ICS is still to come which will almost certainly improve performance.
I'm not slamming the TFP...just wasn't impressed enough with it over the GT to risk being subjected to Asus' tech support should that have been required.

Well.. I love my current Prime and I'm waiting on my second to get here next week along with my dock!
Newegg won't even accept my return because the serial number sticker next to the charging port is gone....
They don't care to turn it on and check the serial in settings to match it with the box and warranty papers.
Looks like a lot of us have had bad experiences because of this tablet. I'm waiting for the TF700T but I might be going with another company.

THIS^^^is a follower. Worried too much about what others are thinkn instead of making decisions based on hour own thinking. PLUS the comment about not sure about further Asus support or developement is ignorant at the least. ASUS has been constantly pumping out updates. Name one other company who released as many OTA updates as the Prime received. WE had ICS. We had root already out the box basically. We Had overclock in less than a month. We had Ubuntu n Linux n other flavors lf it already n less than a month. We already have extra drivers n such being added by dev. In less than a month. We already have root for ICS. We already have some minor theming going on. All this without even having bootunlocker tool yet. For you to make such a statement is kinda disrespect to hard work developers have been doing already here. Name another tablet as new as this one thst had so many things developement wise in its first month of existence. You forgetting its still barely over a month since people first started receiving their primes.
I COULD CARE less you returned it, that's your right to. But your reasoning is plain silly. You said although my prime runs perfect, I got frustrated at seeing all the negative stuff surrounding it. DO you know how many of us had our devices way before you n been dealing with all negative stuff? My prime works great also but not gonna return just because someone else dislikes theirs. Sounds like someone needs their hand held when choosing tablet or making any major decisions. GOOD THING THE other poster didn't mention horror stories he heard about the Galaxy tab or you might just throw a hissy fit.
DONT mean to sound harsh but JUST saying....it would be different if you were like OK I'm returning it because it performed poorly for me. Or I had a personal bad experience with Asus support. Not, well ima return it because Tom,****,n Jane dont like theirs...lmfao

Thanks...a follower? At least you didn't call me a fanboy. ;-)
I care about my investment and how I feel about it. It's all speculation right now as to how much develpment will occur for the tfp at this point...guess I'm just bowing out as I don't wish to be part of the guessing. I do know the Galaxy Tab has been rewarded.
As far as me not experiencing any earth-crushing issues, I'd say that's true. However, I'm sitting here inside my home typing away on my GalaxyTab with a lock on 8 satellites. And wifi range is excellent EVERYWHERE in my home (and I am talking about a significant difference)...I now get my expected 22-24Mbps down from anywhere in my house whereas before would only achieve these speeds right beside my router and would get 4-6Mbps down further away. Still useable...but pale in comparison to the speeds I get with the GT.
I tested both the TFP and the GT within a month period....I feel better with the sammy and went back to it. How is that being a follower? I tried both extensibly for myself to arrive at a decision I felt comfortable with. As far as the negativity being a factor in my decision...hell yeah. Why shouldn't it be? Had I not been offered the chance to return the TFP easily, I never would have bought it based on what I've read here...some would say that's part of the research done when considering a purchase. After testing it out, I wasn't blown away...for my needs, there was nothing that the GT couldn't do just as well plus with gps and wifi working much better. For sure, it only has 2 cores...maybe I'm good with that.
I do hope everyone feels good about their purchase. I didn't and did the logical thing.
demandarin said:
Easy as you are right. That is what i said n still feel the same. I ran by serial number by Gary n he told me it was from an early batch n someone would call me. Ill easily take the new hardware revision over older one. Especially if it might mean might GPS might finally work. I never said "I want them to repair mines". Plus although no dropped signals or anything, wifi signal still fluctuates alot. SO if older hardware was never really meant to be shipped out then people on older batch entitled to the upgrade, or sorts. I did pay for this device, Cash, and I do have a warranty. I never had an issue like others been posting. SO ILL TAKE THE MINI UPGRADE IF OFFERED. That's all. Plus from hearing the horror stories from returns like guy with device smashed, I'm not sure if I would even send mines in yet. Especially since overall having no problems. GPS aside. Remember, they are people out there that have GPS working to some extent one way or another. I having seen a lock yet, although I never tried for more than 5 mins n was indoors everytime. I haven't taken my prime outdoors yet. Plus based on my date of final purchase 12/22 I'd be entitled to any possible hardware fixes for GPS since mine is clearly shown to be purchased before they took GPS spec down.

received it in early January. so all in all 6 weeks since purchase and I have not used my Prime..
My question is how you figure 6 weeks? How many weeks are there in January if today is the 28th?
On a serious note, why not try to find a charger from Frys or OD or Staples. The ones for the OG TF 101 work and determine if the problem is the charger or not?

OK, completely understandable then. I see where you really coming from from this post.
As far as your second quote,I'm not really waiting for anything. I was just told my device is one of early one built. Device still works great but if I'm offered an opportunity to upgrade it to newer parts, then why wouldn't I. Lol. It'll make it even better, I would hope. I still love this device and has done everything I've asked of it n more. Only complaint I would have is GPS. I know that's very important to some people and deciding factor whether to keep it or not. For me, its no big deal. Everything is great aside from GPS. Just thankful I don't have issues some others been describing. Kinda makes it hard to believe when your device working so well. But its a given.
One thing though, Asus better step their game up with the quickness. I have a feeling if they don't address the possible issues on prime, their new upgrade model will be a fail LR do worse. As Prime n t-700 basically share all the same internal components. It'll be in Asus best interest to attack these issues head on. ASUS Losing people everyday. They gaining also but still. People with issues want to keep device but won't since some are riddled with issues. Can't be mad for someone wanting to return a device that's not working properly for them.
First off: I am not anti-Google. I use all the main Google apps. I have had four Android phones, own 2 Nexus 7's and would take Android over iOS any day of the week.
But...
I am through with this piece of crap that passes for the Nexus 10.
Since buying this thing when it first came out I have had to put up with dodgy wifi connections, creaky flexing back panels, random freezes and reboots, and - worst of all - deal-breakingly poor quality control on the screens. I have been through several RMAs with Google Play (to the point where they are refusing to send me any more replacements - and at the moment they are not even replying to my emails) and am now on my 5th device. All of the devices have had unacceptable levels of light bleed, and - worse still - blotchy screens with uneven yellow or blue tints. I have been through nightmares with the Play store and TNT trying to get devices returned and shipped, and have a pile of email correspondence so long that it could be turned into a Peter Jackson trilogy. The Play store is staffed by some of the greatest morons that I have ever had the misfortune to have to deal with. I have constantly been given wrong or misleading information, and have had to harass and badger them at every stage to get anything done. I still have a device listed as 'pending' on my Google Wallet that has long since been returned, despite being told on numerous occasions that an 'expert' was going to remove it.
For anyone with a perfect device, or who is just happy with their's however it is: I am genuinely pleased for you. This could, and more importantly, should, have been an amazing piece of kit. But as it is, my time with the Nexus 10 has been, without any shadow of a doubt, the absolute worst customer experience I have had in my entire life, by a long country mile.
My blotchy, creaky, light bleedy slab of **** is going back. I'll be getting a full refund and returning to my long neglected iPad. Which actually works like it's supposed to.
YMMV
my two cents
When you got the second sample and were still unhappy then it was masochistic to keep trying. You should have given up and ended the pain way before getting to the fifth device. Clearly it is not designed to the quality you require and most, if not all, of the samples were probably typical of the quality of everyone else's.
Crap is in the eye of the beholder. Many others, including myself, are not sensitive to the defects you point out. I don't care about an occasional reboot (which only happened in the first day for me), the light bleed, case cracking sounds, etc. Different people have different needs.
You were asking the support people to make the product right for you, which is probably impossible given that particular design. How do you expect them to behave? They certainly aren't going to say the nexus 10 is **** and they also can't say that you are wrong. The nexus 10 is not **** for most people and you are not wrong for wanting a particular level of quality.
To make a long story short you should walk away and spend your energy finding something better instead of banging your head against a lost cause.
+1 for "my two cents"
Well it took me forever to get a good one... Returns and repairs but its pretty good now.
Funny you praise the nexus 7 while cursing this one. I got 8 crap n7s in a row. Finding one without bleed and lifted screen is like finding a unicorn. The ones not plagued by screen issues are pretty cool... The same can be said for the n10.

Cool story
You know, I can see your point, but I can't see how it merits a new thread here.
What do we gain from reading it? What do you gain from us having read it? (I can totally understand what you gained by writing it, but why not pin in on a wall, be it real or virtual?).

There is a difference between useful sharing of a bad experience and trashing it. He seems to be saying that he was harmed and the world owes him something. No company owes anyone anything unless they misrepresent the product or are outright fraudulent.
I actually feel sorry for the support team on this one. Sending 5 units is beyond the call of duty. I would quit responding to his emails also. A friend of mine worked in support and he called these customers "screamers". There was nothing you could do to make them happy. He wanted to tell them to give up and buy a competitors product but he could have lost his job for saying that.
It is *possible* he is an apple fan coming here to troll. I'm not accusing him but I've seen this on other forums many times. The fact that he says he is going back to his iPad is a clue.
I feel so sorry to the customer service handle your case.
Such customer shall be doing such job to learn the lesson.
Requesting 5 times changing was ridiculous. If 2nd change not fulfil your requirements. Stop continue and by just requested for full refund as it was known the thing never right nor matter how many times you change it.
It was great for your continue using back your satisfied iPad.
Think twice in future before repeating such hilarious attitude.
Idk, on one hand, if he really wanted the device, 5 tries at it doesn't seem too bad. On the other hand, if decent QC was actually existent, then so many replacements wouldn't have to be issued to find an "acceptable" device (for $400 I wouldn't deal with excessive screen bleed nor a creaky back either; luckily I have neither on my first device though).
So, it's either deal with the QC flaws on a $400 device, or annoy CS because of lack of QC. Maybe annoying them will actually make Google/Samsung do some better QC
As for the Apple part, I do agree it is kind of unnecessary. But then again if that's the tablet that works for him, then meh.

Not trolling at all. Actually reading this on my Nexus 7 rather than my iPad. Android is so far ahead of iOS it feels like a backward step to have to use it. Was going to sell the thing if the Nexus 10 turned out right. Such a shame since the N10 pisses all over the iPad in every respect. Apart from the defective screen, obviously. I can overlook the creaks (put it in a case) and the light bleed (don't watch films in the dark).I can even overlook the WiFi and reboot issues, but an uneven screen is a deal breaker. I use my tablets primarily for reading, so yellow patches are highly distracting. And as for the Play Store staff: I have come across some who have been extremely helpful, but I've also been repeatedly given wrong information, lied to and messed about. The customer service is genuinely appalling. As for just giving in: it took me three exchanges to get a decent iPad (uneven screen again), so am not inclined to throw in the towel. What would make me happy? A reasonably uniform screen. I'm not looking for perfection. I know these are mass produced consumer products. But equally I see no reason to spend £300 on something sub-standard. If Google don't want me returning things then they should get their quality control sorted out. And yes - writing this has been cathartic.
Good bye

As someone who has worked in retail for 17 year in positions that involve selling the general public goods what you hear from over the top customers is usually about 40% truth and 60% exaggeration in the hopes it will escalate their problem and get it resolved quickly to `their' satisifaction. Typically what is considered `their satisfaction' is a set of goal posts that never stops moving.
The replacement collectors I pay no attention to.. There is one dude around here that his signature is how he's had 5 Nexus 10 replacements and 5 Nexus 4 replacements.. Seriously.. I can't take that seriously..

Which part of my post do you think is an exaggeration? The part where I said that I wasn't looking for perfection, could live with light bleed, wifi drop-outs and reboots, but drew the line at wanting a 'reasonably' even screen in terms of temperature and light distribution was a clue as to what I consider my 'goalposts' to be. My iPad isn't perfect: the screen is not 100% uniform and it has minor light bleed. My Nexus 7 isn't perfect: it has some light bleed, wifi drop-outs and the screen flicker issue. My Android phone isn't perfect: the screen is not 100% even. But are they acceptable? Yes. Because. even though consumer devices are not perfect, they are of a 'reasonable' quality.
That = 'goalposts'.
Why is that too hard for some people to understand?
Nothing in this world is perfection.
From all you write, you are finding for perfection but just not admit only.
Why life so hard? You can't be happy and satisfied forever as you are too towards for perfection. They is no such thing in this world!
this thing is sooo slugish and freezes after 4.2.2 update
this thing is going to my sisters 7 year old. I already told him if he drops and breaks it he will be doing us all a favor. ever since the 4.2.2 update it became laggy in all areas.
i think the only good thing about this thing was the ppi.....i did a lot of ebook reading.
I ordered ( just got the confirmation from microsoft) a surface pro. sorry google, i tried so many times along with 4 rma's and i just cant do this any more. please open those brick motar stores you keep talking about. it will make it easier for us to return your products.
...joe
The customer service representatives tell you to return it until you get one you are satisfied with. Not the other way around. They are quick to offer another RMA. I stopped after the second one had horrible light bleed because I didn't want to play THEIR game any more. I got a refund and got the hell out of the crappy RMA merry go round. I'm waiting to hear if they have fixed the quality control issues but sadly it still sounds like a crap shoot.

Really? for me after 4.2.2 I find the tablet is more responsiveness and battery life is improved - not sluggish at all. I have not had a reboot so far while using the tabet but did experience a few wifi drops (reconnected after a few seconds). Still trying to figure out where wifi drops happen as I'm running a Asus RT-N66U (with Tomato firmware).
I am running stock and lost root after the OTA upgrade. Have you tried a factory reset?
I genuinely can't believe that people see the need to RMA their N10 (or any device) due to the smallest things that they've found by specifically looking for them. Yes my N10 has light bleed and yes it did have problems with rebooting (before 4.2.2) but it doesn't bother me.
I would never use an LCD screen on full brightness in a dark room so will never notice the small amounts of light bleed it has. The reboots are a software issue that can be fixed by an update and are so infrequent that they are almost insignificant anyway. And a 'creaky back' definitely doesn't warrant getting the thing replaced; it's plastic so is bound to creak when you purposely flex it which you're not supposed to do.
Is anyone else shocked by the sheer number of people that will happily request multiple replacements because of the stupidest things and then wonder why the price increases or the customer service seems rushed? They've somehow got pay for all the testing, repackaging, restocking and reselling of these apparently 'defective' devices.
Hi there,
up to now the LG G5 is a total fail. I have to send my 2nd LG G5 back due to quality issues:
Under 38% brigthness the display starts a "high-frequency beep" which have BOTH phones, confirmed by German hifi-store Media Markt.
Don't get me wrong, it is just a quite tone but who knows how the story goes on? What else could happen when the display has a quality problem?
Furthermore QUICK CHARGE 3.0 is not workable comparing the charging times implied by QC 3.0 that says up to 80% in 35 min.
56-59% in 30 min (starting at 0% of course) with a QC 3 Charger from Aukey is the current maximum according to both phones.
The same values with the orignal LG Charger....there is no evidence in the WWW that QC3 is working, on the contrary there are some youtube vids concerning this issue.
...and I dont have to mention the loose powerbutton? (just 1 of 2 phones...)
Claiming the LG G5 as a high-end phone is a bad joke!
Your Post is also a joke. My and 99% of all G5 working fine. No noob posts here please.
I've had my G5 for almost 6 weeks now and have none of those issues - on the contrary, it's a great phone
Nothing "beeps" or acts somehow weird if I set the brightness to below 38%
No idea about the exact speed of quick charge since I don't care about 5 minutes more or less
No loose power button
No idea where you got your phone(s) from, but mine (with contract, Vodafone/otelo) is absolutely fine. Please don't go claiming the phone is a joke when all you have to go on is YOUR bad experience. Tons of users here on XDA haven't had any problems with theirs.
Yeah, another noob jumping in - and as much as i respect your brilliant experiences with your phones (and envy you at the same time) i have to tell you, that my G5 makes this sound too. Starting at 38%. Mine is from vodafone too, and even otelo matches, and let me guess that it's the "1.FC Köln"-Contract. Have fun with your warranty if something starts to happen with your phone.
My powerbutton is okay and charging works as much as i'm interessted in charging. Goes from roundabout 25 to 75 in 15 minutes and this is sufficient for me. But my ambient light sensor had to be changed - defect out of the box (the had to exchange the board in the end).
Jeah, unfortunately it's not all milk and honey with the G5. We may be the minority but these are reports are facts. It's kind of cocky jumping at persons, sharing their experiences while around the corner, here in XDA, all those bugs are posted. GPS, Sensor problems, build quality issues you name it ... If a "noob" status (in your opinion) disqualifies someone as respectable conversation partner, it may be the time to put away your the internet pe**s and start acting as someone with manners.
Have a nice evening

You're right. You did not. After a good nights sleep and without the anger of a long day i edited my post and apologize for jumping at you. I think i was carried away by the moment. And OP was'nt really diplomatic himself and monocentric in his "truth" about beeing the G5 a fail (a position i'm not very far from). Whatever, without quoting you, and without mixing you up with schrotty and his " no noob posts here" the core message would have sounded a lot different i think.

And you're correct of course, it was the "1.FC Köln" contract, even though I hate soccer with a passion ... but I simply couldn't resist the price and needed a new contract anyway
About the warranty ... well with the bootloader unlocked/TWRP/rooted I'll have a hard time getting any warranty at all unless it's an obvious hardware failure, so I don't really care about that. So far the only thing that's a bit annoying is the display - it's set to automatic brightness but if I use the phone in a dark room it regulates all the way down to 0% and I end up having to manually increase the brightness again. No idea if that's a sensor issue or software, but since I don't use the phone at night too much I can live with it. Plus if it's a software issue it should get solved as soon as we get a custom rom
I wish you a nice Sunday too, maybe you'll get lucky and it won't rain all day like here

...sure but LG fanboy posts are much better right?
99% working fine? Thats why they are selling the G5 for only EUR 401,- (~USD 450,-) in Germany since yesterday :good::good:
EUR 401,- for a LG G5 after 2,5 months, please keep in mind that the first price was EUR 699,-
So again: As per Lg's view this is a total desaster.

Perhaps they have received a faulty batch. I bought mine in Cologne at Saturn in the Schildergasse (without contract) and have zero issues.
Of course, when you replace a phone from a bad batch with another one of the same batch, chances are that it has the same issue. On the other hand, this also speaks volumes about LG's quality management. Bad batches should be sorted out, not being sold.
But perhaps LG thought that fans of 1.FCK wouldn't notice such things anyways - which I could understand

No offense intended, but it is a good approach to use a phone for at least a few days before voiding the warranty. I also am quick to start the unlocking procedure and fastboot, but patience does have its advantages.
Over here, you probably have a chance to win in court when a phone fails mechanically even when it is unlocked. If you have a legal protection insurance - and too much time - you can try it.

Why faulty batch? There's nothing wrong with my "Sparhandy" G5.
If a rooted/unlocked phone has a hardware issue they can't deny the warranty - only if there's even a slight chance it could be caused by the software. While I don't have protection insurance I do have friends and former bosses that are lawyers, so I'm not really worried about it.
An interesting read regarding root + warranty btw: https://fsfe.org/freesoftware/legal/flashingdevices.en.html

I know, but you probably need to go to court etc., lots of time for a freaking phone...
I did have a power button issue and had to swap out my phone with t-mobile. Otherwise working great and really enjoying the improvement over my old S5. Haven't experienced the other issues you described.
...and an hour later half the screen would freeze constantly.
Looks like it's time for an htc 10
I love my VZ G5, but people don't feel the loose power button? I've felt it at two different stores, and I've had 2 of these (first returned for an unrelated reason) and they also had it. I figured it was normal, it almost feels kind of plasticy, but it didn't bother me after like 5 min.
Also have the GPS hardware issues and I'm just being lazy on sending out a warranty again haha

This only aplies to the european union, it might be completely different in the USA (and other countries). Also, according to some users here on XDA, not all countries have implemented these rules correctly (they could be wrong). I think companies in these countries might refuse warranty claims at first, so they get paid for the repair when the user accepts his warranty loss. However, when you claim that you do still have warranty according to these laws, they'll probably repair your phone anyway, as they know they'll never win a lawsuit in this matter.
I should have known better than to buy another ZTE phone!! It won't charge anymore!! I only charged it twice since I got the damn thing... it's not the cable or the charger because I also have an Anker charger and power bank along with a OnePlus 3 and it's cable and charger for reference... What a load of crap, the last ZTE phone I had fail on my family me was three months ago when the capacitive keys stopped working, that phone was brand new from MetroPCS too... Stay away from this phone, I'm glad that I kept my OnePlus 3 just in case I didn't want to jump ship...

Who's talking about customer service here? I'm talking about quality control... I bought my Axon 7 using Amazon Prime, UPS should pick it up today or Monday, and the refund is already processing, no worries. Well they can't all be bad, just hope that if there is a defect that it presents itself while you're still able to return it, not months later like my last ZTE phone...

Who's talking about customer service here? I'm talking about quality control... I bought my Axon 7 using Amazon Prime, UPS should pick it up today or Monday, and the refund is already processing, no worries. With OnePlus or any other PayPal purchase, I go straight to PayPal and open a dispute demanding a refund,no worries there either...
I was so hyped for the Axon 7, I was already regretting jumping the gun with the OnePlus 3, but I should've known better... I realize liked a the value, features, and attention to detail ZTE showed, but their QC is still trash... I also need root for my general and YouTube ad blockers, I can't be without them, looks like the ZTE xda&oq developer will be nothing but tumbleweeds yet again...

I don't understand why you are blaming QC all they do is inspect the phone after it is built there is supposed to be a Technician that tests it before it gets to QC but his job is to make sure it is functioning properly. The battery can't be checked to see if it is going to fail after so many charges that's an unknown issue. It really sucks when it fails not long after you get it that is something I agree with you on just saying not a QC issue and no I'm not a QC person I spent my entire career as a electronic technician the battery was built buy some other company not ZTE
The phone isn't even actually out yet, most pre-orders haven't shipped. Yet you are complaining about the phone not having root yet? What the heck do you expect?
Sorry you got a lemon man. I have mine and it's wonderful. No issues here at all.

Mine seems solid so far. Seems like you could get it repaired/replaced via Passport 2.0 though.
Edit - ZTE's support can't be much worse than Lenovorola.
A user on ZTE Community had his camera fail and his dealings with customer service sounded terrible. They wanted to charge him a holding fee of $400 for an advanced replacement. Also mentioned getting charged $79 for the passport fee on a defectice device.

I know it suck when this stuff happens, I'd be pissed also. But you can get a lemon from anyone. Amazon is great to deal with so an exchange shouldn't be an issue. Or just return it and be done with ZTE, up to you.
But other are happy with the Axons 7 so I'm still willing to give them a shot.

They can't be all good is a margin of 1to5% of 1000 that all companies has ,cmon look at samsung with their s7 active or sony with the z5 .

I remember when the Moto X Pure came out - I sent 3 back for lose, or missing, pieces and the back peeling off. One had some pixel issues as well.
Then when the Nexus 6P came out - I sent 4 of those back for QC issues. 1) Low speaker volume and crackling 2) camera not working 3) One speaker stopped working 4) something sounded lose inside when I shook it. My 5th one wasn't flawless either, but it was better than the other 4.
I sent my first OnePlus 2 back because the captive keys and home button didn't work properly, you'd have to press them several times to get it to respond.
Only phones I haven't had QC issues with were the Samsung phones, but I hate everything about them (except the screen and camera). Even my last iPhone (I think in 2012) had QC issues and I had to get it replaced due to the mic dying.
But it does worry me a little to see the low number of people on this forum and so many issues? Luckily mine have all been software compatibility issues that a reset will solve.
I wouldn't say there are a lot of issues. I've just heard about the camera and Dolby crashing plus a Wifi issue and that's going between here and ZTE Community.
Other than those, there are just a few small bugs looming about.

Lol camera, sound and wifi are not big enough issues for you? A smartphone without those sounds like a flip phone.

They're not widespread, though. They are isolated incidents. It's not like the LG G4s bootloop issue.

Putting "a hold" on your credit card, to insure that you actually do mail back the broken phone is not the same as "charging you $400". It is also standard practice for many manufacturers to do this, so random people aren't just calling, claiming a faulty device, and receiving free new phones in the mail without ever mailing back the broken one. A business must look after their bottom line.

My Samsung Galaxy Note 3 had the physical home button die within the first few weeks, and I had to send it back for repair. It can happen to any manufacturer. I really hope mine isn't faulty. Always a big let-down if you're excited for a new device. However, if it is, I'll just return it and move on.
When did Q and A section became ***** and moan section. You have a chance of getting a defective item with any vendor and any brand. Return it and move on.
