Hi, how can I back to "stock radios?" from radios CM13 ?
Even, after recover backup with MIUI, I Have CM logo on start (Not white Mi)
Check this guide: http://en.miui.com/a-234.html
Make sure that the rom you download from the link is placed under this path: C:/. Don't put it in a long path or you'll get errors when trying to flash with the program. If you face any problems, feel free to ask.
This will erase my all data from the internal storage?

Not sure, but in bottom right area of the mi flash program, you get options such as flash all, flash all except storage etc...try the option "flash all except storage" but do make a backup first just to be sure.

Try this and check... for me it didn't work and since my device was bricked had no option to take backup... hence lost all photos and other things from internal storage :crying:

It will probably work for they OP if he has a custom recovery installed but making a backup is rule #1 when you mess with flashing and ROMs.

I'm embarrassed to ask such a stupid question, but I've been digging around for hours and couldn't find an answer. Using TWRP, I was attempting to flash MeanROM. I placed the ROM in my Dropbox and downloaded it to my phone using the default browser. Booted into recovery and began to follow the steps. I created a backup, did my wipes, etc. So when I was finally ready to flash, I went into Install and have no idea where the ROM was saved. I thought it would be easy enough to find so I didn't bother checking where it saved before hand. I also couldn't find where my Backup saved so I couldn't even restore from there.
Could you please help me find my ROM or backup?

I don't have an external SD card installed. I imagine that the ROM is in the default saving location for the browser, I just don't know how to navigate there. And I have no idea what the default saving location is for TWRP backups.
Downloads from the stock browser goes to my external sd card in the downloads folder. There's also a downloads folder on my internal card.

Back ups are stored in TWRP/BACKUPS

So I did a system wipe and it looks like that's where I went wrong. The directions said to wipe everything but I guess I got carried away as it looks like it cleared everything off. The only thing under the sdcard folder is a TWRP folder. But when I press Install and then go into /sdcard/TWRP, there's nothing in there. Shouldn't the back up I created be in there?
Please tell me I didn't brick my phone my doing the system wipe.

You didnt brick, you just need to put a rom on the card and flash. If boot fails, you will need to flash kernel through fastboot

When I tried mounting my phone to my computer from TWRP, it shows up as a drive on my computer, but when I try to click on it, I get the following message:
The Disk in drive F is not formatted.
Do you want to format now?
Is it safe to go ahead and format and will that erase all that's left on my phone?

Great, I'll give that a shot when I get home. One last question, which parts should I mount to format? System, data, or cahce?
you only need to select mount and then mount as storage, everything else can be wiped in recovery

Fat32 format of my phone, computer finally recognized it as a functioning drive, transferred the ROM over, and flashed it with no problem. Loving MeanROM. Thank you so much for all your help.
No problem
Hi,
im quite new to rooting and custom roms.
I have rooted (ALLINONE) my device with the S3 ToolKit (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1703488)
My device had stock rom and was encrypted. I performed a factory reset from the stock rom (after a nandroid backup from the toolkit.
But the phone failed and booted into TWRP. When i try to wipe Dalvik Cache it sais failed..
I get "cannot mount internal storage" in the logs.
What sould i do?
I want to install the Paranoid Android ROM. But for now, whatever goes. Is there always an possibility to fix the phone as long as i get into the TWRP menu, or can it be permanently bricked now?
Download mode yes no ???
jje
Yes im am able to open download mode. thanks for your quick reply
Could i try to install a ROM from a external card without wiping dalvik? I was able to wipe "cache", but not factory reset or dalvik. havent tried anything else yet.
To my knowledge, you can only access encrypted data with the instance of the ROM you encrypted it with.
I would expect you'd have to decrypt fully before wiping and flashing.
I may be wrong but there is a chance there's nothing you can do to get the data back :/
Everything possibly needs to be formatted.
I just took "format data" - it worked just to confirm i was on the right track, i tried dalvik again - it worked! OH YES. going forward
Whatever doesnt kill your phone makes you stronger, or something But what should i do now..?

I want to flash the Paranoid Android ROM.
I have downloaded the ROM + gapps from as stated in this link: (remote the [DOT] and replace it with a real dot) tothemobile[DOT]com/install-paranoidandroid-4-2-2-jelly-bean-custom-rom-on-galaxy-s3
but im not sure what steps i should do now. The toolkit dosnt have a feature covering my situation as far as i can see (a formatted phone), since the toolkit want me to boot it as normal to start the flash procedure - if i havent misunderstood this totally

You don't really need the toolkit. Plus, it's really good to learn how to do things manually, in case you get in situations like this.
Sol exactly what state is the phone in?
What recovery has the phone got?
Does the phone now boot?
Is it wiped and internal storage works?
Thanks for your help - really appreciate it
Im not sure how i can describe the phones state more than i have now used "format data" in the TWRP recovery screen, the device is listing in the toolkit and im able to go into download mode. I dont have an external card for the phone now, but if its critical for the ongoing progress, ill get a hold of one.
EDIT:
When i hit "Install" in TWRP i am able to browse the internal memory. I can see:
cache
data
dev
efs
etc
external_sd
extSdCard
preload
proc
res
root
sbin
sdcard
sys
system
tmp

Have a read of the "sticky roll-up thread" in general where there are guides for flashing etc
im not familiar with twrp. usually android sees /extSdCard as your removable sd. But recoveries usually use external_sd for the same location.
Essentially you put the zip on your sd and install via recovery. Have a look through those guides. I cant really help withy your recovery though as i dont know it.
I believe that the case is resloved!
To users experiencing that wipes/factory reset fails on a device that have/had encrypted data, you must "format data" and then mount a SD card with the desired ROM and gapps. If you dont have the option of a external SD - i dont know what you have to do - but im sure the internet do
hey guys I have a problem I flashed a rom to test and then came back to existenz 5.1.1 that I had made a back up and now I don't have nothing in internal memory what happened?? although the file manager shows in information that I have all my stuff and I have 2.5 gb free form 12 gb!!
I connected my phone to pc and it shows all the internal files but in the phone file manager it shows nothing! also phone>settings >storage it also shows that I have 2.5 gb free from 12! I cant update apps from google play also and i cant download something that maybe it saves in internal
what is this?
1.Try to restore your backup again.
2. Flash existenz Rom again and just restore data from recovery

Go to recovery, click on the restore option, choose your backup and only select data and flash. Done! If this doesn't work then flash room again and clear dalvik cache

OK, if TWRP asks for a password it's because your Data partition is encrypted. To restore access go to "wipe" and tap "format data", enter "yes" and reboot, I explain this in the guide Make a backup of your data before.
For now you can't, I seen on Xda few days ago some unofficial Xposed for N but it's for 7.1, wait a little and maybe we will have it.

Hi,
I have a Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 3GB Global Version and will swap with the same model but a 4Gb version. Both are unlocked with RedWolf twrp as recovery and MiUi 9.2.
What should I include in my nandroid backup if I wish to restore all my apps and their data to the 4Gb version? Until now, my backups include System-Data-Boot and wifi-bluetooth data.
Thank you for your advice.

Why not simply use MIUI backup? It also backups all your apps with data and your settings. Copy the back up folder to your SD card or computer and restore it on your new phone.
If you're rooted, you can use Titanium Backup, the best way to backup and restore apps.
If not, you can try an ADB backup but I can't guarantee it'll work well: https://9to5google.com/2017/11/04/how-to-backup-restore-android-device-data-android-basics/
You don't need the Android SDK. Just grab the platform-tools package, unzip it to your desktop, CD into it (use a command prompt or terminal to enter the directory) and then follow the guide.

The only thing you need to do is change the device id in your backups. First backup your original device to an sdcard then put that card in your new device. Next backup just boot (this creates the new device id directory) then move full backup to new id. Last just restore the full backup. I know this works because I went from 3gb to 4gb a few months ago. Make sure you DONT restore efs from old device to new.

I used Titanium before but I'd like to do something really easy and clean and in a one swoop solution like a nandroid restore.
I think I'm going to go the solution proposed by cidxtc because it's tested.

All right, please cidxtc let me resume to make sure I understand you correctly because I'm a noob.
1/ From the 3Gb phone, I entrer RedWolf TWRP recovery, make a backup of just 'System + Data' (see attached screenshot) and not Boot to a SD card.
2/ Put the SD card in the 4Gb phone, enter recovery and select to backup 'Boot' only. Then move the 3Gb backup 'System + Data' into the RedWolf folder where the 4Gb 'Boot' backup is. Afterwards, I just have to restore the 'System + Data' from there.
Is this correct ?

The new phone should arrive next week. I was doing my homework to be ready. I'll come back and let you know how it goes. Hopefully everything will go smoothly if i do as discussed.
I received my phone today and will apply to unlock its bootloader first, then root it.
Meanwhile, could you please cidxtc explain, if possible, why I shouldn't include the boot file in the nandroid backup of the 3Gb phone to be restored to the 4Gb phone? Will the 4Gb phone boot without this file after restoring just system and data only?
