My wifes rezound just started boot looping a few days ago. I have her on clean rom and shes been on that for several months. She was complaining to me as of late, her phone would just reboot to white HTC logo screen (hot reboot) for no apparent reason.
well a few days ago, it reboot, and thats all it does now. white HTC screen, flash... white HTC screen, reboot.. repeat forever.
Okay, So her rom is toast, ill reflash. I have amon RA installed, wiped and reflashed Clean rom, same thing.
wiped again - same thing.
oooookay.. so I got the RUU based on the latest OTA, flashed RUU in hboot.. did its thing, no problems, reboot..
boot loop.
sooooooo I dont know what to do. I have been flashing these things for like 4 years, I have yet to run into any problem I have not been able to fix.. so either this phone is trashed, or something else is going on I can't remedy.
Given that hboot is fine, and recovery is fine, I have to think the hardware has to be fine on some level. It is unlocked and S-off. I have flashed CWM, and TWRP, same thing.
One thing that it does do that seems indicative of a problem, On stock recovery , it says

it does this for a few seconds, then I get to stock recovery. From there, I am unable to wipe the device.

Im thinking this isnt supposed to happen, though I have never wiped from stock recovery, so maybe its normal?
I have been googling for hours, and searching these threads for those errors, but to no avail. If the phone is toast somehow, I have asurion, but Id like to keep the 100 bucks in my pocket if I can.
Are you getting those errors in cwm and twrp as well? Also, have you given Amon Ra recovery a try? From the looks of it it looks like something is definitely wrong, but I'm just curious if those errors show up in the custom recoveries as well.

Was afraid that was going to be the case.
Are there any adb or fast boot tools to verify those partitions are toast?

This just happened to mine, exact same problem. Booted into phone this morning, kept telling me that it could not load Apex-Home at all, even after restart. Booted phone into recovery mode, attempted to restore all data. Now phone starts up, hits white HTC screen, goes black.. waits and then boots again. I can't even access recovery now with the button combination.
Is there a way to connect my computer to the phone without it booting past the white HTC screen?
Hi guys. I absolutely screwed up trying to install CWM to my player, and managed to get it stuck in download/recovery mode only. I somehow managed to install Steve's kernel, which at least gives me a more functional recovery (CWM), but I am still unable to get my player to run normally (I'll click reboot in CWM and it will reboot back to CWM). At the very least, I would like it to get back up and running again. I tried putting .zip files on an external sd card and installing them via CWM, but for whatever reason my player can't the .zips.
If anyone could help me flash back to a stock rom or something that would be fantastic. Thank you.
Edit: Just to clarify, my player is 4.0 USA. Also, many of the recovery files that have been posted here have been removed.

First of all download this stock recovery rom for the USA 4.0 found here (thank zalcimon please) http://www.mediafire.com/?aodm44hzan3jauo
Now you must install Samsung Kies on your PC to get the correct drivers. Then you must download and install odin found here:
http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=...IxHp1ISlP2fzGKhtw&sig2=ZjUHLCkIbG1_EprOk9enrA. After that you need to put the player into download mode, by first turning off the player completely and then to put it into download you must (Hold volume down and power).
Here's the fun step. Open up Odin and make sure only Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time are checked or YOU WILL BRICK YOUR DEVICE *THE HORROR*. Plug the Galaxy Player into the USB Port (while it's still in download mode) and Under ID:COM it should say something like 0:[COM4] and is yellow. Where it says message it should say "Added!!"
You have to now hit PDA and select the .md5 or .tar file(this is the recovery rom you downloaded early). Hit Start and it should take about 2-4 minutes to finish. If you get bootloops then you must turn off the player, and put it into the stock recovery. Hit wipe data/factory reset, and Wipe cache Partition.
Flashing a kernel is very easy when you use odin. Basically it's the same steps as flash a rom. All you have to do is hit PDA select steve s kernel (make sure it's the .tar file) and hit start. It should take about 10 seconds and you're done hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply. You're giving me a better idea of what exactly it is that I need to do.
Unfortunately, I already tried flashing the recovery rom in Odin, but it doesn't work because it's a zip file. I tried unzipping it in both WinRar and 7Zip, but all I get is a folder with several items in it. I can't properly flash back to stock because I don't have a stock .tar file.

Dang it lol. I have the .tar file, and I'm going to use a site called www.transferbigfiles.com that lets you email big files to people. However, the good thing is that they let you share links. Here it is https://www.transferbigfiles.com/dd8765db-edaf-4d58-a798-3d091429974c/hfVImIZm4TURWTX05abOQw2. Be warned though this will only be here for 5 days so download it in this time please.

I did lol, but apparently the file that is used for odin isn't a .tar/.md5 file.

I tried those, but obscuresword was correct in stating that the files linked aren't in .tar or .md5 format, and thus they can't be flashed with odin.
Anyways, I tried the file that obscure linked and I am still unable to get out of recovery. I basically get a bunch of red text every time I try to do something (like wipe data), and when I try to reboot it just reboots me into recovery once again. This is the same issue I was having earlier, so for the time being I have flashed an alternative kernel that at least has a recovery that is a little more functional. I still go back into recovery when I reboot though.

Ok I basically get a bunch of "Can't mounts" and "Can't opens". For instance, when I boot into recovery it says this:

Wait do you re-partition when you do this? (with the odin I posted, not goldflame's one).

what is your s9+ version?, it appear in twrp?
I have the same Problem with S9 plus G965F.
It boots permanent in Samsung Logo repeated.
even can not flash stock Firmware via Odin in download modus.
Can anyone help me please?
Flash latest twrp 3.2.1-2. This mesage "Failed to mount '/cpefs' (Read-only file system)" is gone.
Doesn't cause any issue, but updating to 3.2.1-2 fixes it as well as slow restore from backup as seen by the changelog on XDA
i have updated mine to 3.2.3-1 but it doesnt fix the problem, i tried following a couple of guides in youtube like changing the file system from ext4 to ext2 but still no luck, it didnt even let me change the file system for Data
i was on Android P when i tried that, but right now i just went back to full stock P without TWRP because i'm stuck with formatting Data (the most important part to clear out the restriction)
Any solution? i'm facing same.
