I am getting a error saying device not recognized needs troubleshooting. When i click on troubleshoot, it says device doesn't have a driver.
Please help me??
Plug it into your PC. Go to device manager and uninstall no recognised hardware. Once done unplug. Reset the PC. Make sure you have internet connection and plug the phone back in.
Assuming you are on Windows, go to device manager, right click the unknown device, choose manually, choose from list, portable devices and choose usb mtp.
If you still have issues try to install Media Feature Pack from Microsoft Download Center for your windows version and repeat the above.
Good luck!
I had the same issue.
it was the cable that came with the phone. try a different cable

When I tried installing the media feature pack on my windows 8.1 with bing, I get this error "This update is not applicable to your computer"
Now what should i do??

Whne I clicked on update driver, It says Search automatically for updated driver software or Browse my computer for driver software, So i clicked on search automatically.
After few seconds I get this error, Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it:
MTP Device
A service installation section in this INF is invalid
If you know the manufacturer of your device, you can visit it's website and check the support section for driver software.
Now what??
Start again and choose Browse my computer, then choose from list, portale device and mtp usb.

Have you tried uninstalling the Palm Drivers from your Control Panel => Add/Remove Programs (XP) or Programs and Features (Win 7) ?
You wanna remove anything that says PALM or novacom from those lists, then reinstall them. Personally, I use the WebOS QuickInstall to get the drivers installed properly, but that's just me.
So I have a Samsung Vibrant(just got it recently) and I'm having problems when i connect it to the computer. It gives me an USB device not recognized on my windows 8 computer. I have spent all morning searching and reinstalling drivers and trying my old pc and new cables and i found out that my old windows 7 computer with 4GB of ram and an overloaded hard drive will detect my device the problem there is it not my main computer and i dont want to have to connect all the vga cables boot it up connect mouse and ect to use this computer just to be able to copy files, and do other things from my computer to my phone I dont know why my main computer dell inspiron windows 8 will not work when it was a couple of days ago when i had a problem with conectivity and had to flash back to stock but now it wont connect. could someone help me? Here's a list of things i've tried
installing kies
installing adb again
aoi tool and then drivers

diffrent usb cable
i would like to be able to do it on my main computer but its not working if someone could help that would be great
also please dont hate on me for having windows 8 jk i dont care :good:
I'd have to say that your drivers are all scrambled. Look up "android SDK" here on xda and install that for a bigger variety of drivers. Or just download Google's USB driver and manually install it through device manager which always works for me. Windows 8 is new and very complicated.

Android SDK is installed in the main drive right? local disk c?
You have to click the folder (usb_driver) and then click update.
In the android sdk folder there should be and exe file called SDK manager. There you will be able to download all the drivers for your current android version also the latest Google drivers and SDK tools etc.
I was stuck on this process for a long time because it allways works different for everybody. Just keep me posted on what you do I'm more than glad to help.

So what exactly happens when you click update? What does it say?
Is your PC up to date? (update wise)
Do you have the the drivers for the phone itself like samsung drivers?
And did you try rebooting your PC after installing your drivers? <-- that is important. You should always reboot after install or uninstalling drivers otherwise you'll end up scrambling them.
From the pictures it shows you have the drivers but I'd also try going deeper than usb_driver, try clicking on i386 or amd64.

OK make sure there are no HTC drivers on your PC. When you hook up your phone does USB storage work or anything like that?
Check those out and then I want you to go to Google, download pdanet latest version via pc (dont install yet) and go to the play store and install on your phone turn on USB debugging and the install non market apps and hook your phone up to the computer. Then install pdanet via PC and see if that works. HTC drivers get in the way of Samsung's BTW.

I want you to uninstall all your Samsung drivers(not android SDK) under control panel/uninstall programs. If you see something like Samsung kies definitely uninstall it. Reboot your computer and follow this guide for windows 8:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2038555
After this if it doesn't work I'd recommend pulling out your old computer for android modding lol. I'll still look up some threads for your problem. Let me know what's going on after that. Make sure when you follow that guide your phone can not be plugged in the computer. And when you plug your phone into the computer after everything is done and after you reboot your computer for the second time, USB debugging has to be off and when phone is done unplug and turn back on USB debugging and plug back in and wait for that. Adb should work.
[Edit] you can also try running your drivers in windows 7 compatibility. Sorry I couldn't help much.

I think I know what the problem is. Make sure you uninstall all the previous drivers, then have the correct drivers ready.
What you have to do is to disable driver signature enforcement.
Step 1. Go to the right bottom corner of the desktop and wait for the side menu to appear. When it's there click on the gear icon with the title "Settings".
Step 2. Now click on the entry "More PC Settings", then click on the entry "General".
Step 3"Restart now" (under "Advanced start up ") and click it.
Step 4. Now click "Troubleshoot", then "Advanced Options" and after that click "Windows Start up Settings".
Step 5. Click on "Restart" and wait, then on the next screen press F7.
You will now reboot, and try now to install the drivers (by manually selecting the folder in device manager).
I'm not sure what is the correct drivers for you.
But try this. It's still worth a shot.

I am happy to release my Universal Naked Driver. This is to allow ADB, Fastboot & APX interfaces to work without installing any package much less multiples packages for users with multiple devices. Yes you can just install them and uninstall right away but why bother?
I was annoyed that I couldnt use my Transformer Prime and Galaxy Nexus without having versions and packages trip over each other. My previous post for the Sensation & Galaxy Nexus was helpful so I thought I would bring to XDA the newest Android driver available from source (which they call 4.0) and make it start talking.
Warning: Uninstall any previous driver package's you may have installed and also manually remove drivers by attaching your phone and going to Windows device manager and right click the entry for your phone and select "Uninstall" on the next prompt make sure to select "Delete the driver software for this device" then hit OK and reboot before installing these drivers
Code:
Google Nexus Devices ADB & Fastboot
Samsung Devices ADB & Fastboot
Asus Devices ADB, Fastboot & APX
HTC Devices ADB & Fastboot
Code:
[B]Windows 8 Instructions[/B]
How to Disable Driver Signature Enforcement in Windows 8:
From the Metro Start Screen, open Settings (move your mouse to the bottom-right-corner of the screen and wait for the pop-out bar to appear, then click the Gear icon).
Click ‘More PC Settings’.
Click ‘General’.
Scroll down, and click ‘Restart now’ under ‘Advanced startup’.
Wait a bit.
Click ‘Troubleshoot’.
Click ‘Advanced Options’
Click ‘Windows Startup Settings’
Click Restart.
Enjoy!

There always has been more then 2-3 threads for the drivers so this is not new from me.
It also allows for promotion as people are still discovering the drivers. With all the versions I have released and all the autoroot kits on XDA that use these drivers the downloads are over 2 millions downloads and counting.
Once tested well I will update my other threads. =)

Correct it allows to me to roll it out to a smaller userbase with a little control, then I update all threads with new version.
Additionally a good amount of Android autoroot kits rely on my updates and I like to be careful. I do not want to fix whats not broken.

Do the drivers work for Win2000 too?
Usually you wouldn´t find me asking something like this, but my hyper-fast supermachine at work does run on this legendary OS
Since mass storage mode doesn´t work / I didn´t find it to activate....I still look out for a way to mount the nexus5 to that crap thing.

These are based off the newest Google drivers from the SDK, first most they allow anybody to download them and simply unzip the drivers without the need to install the SDK or Java, no EXE's or installations hence the "naked" part.
Secondly and most important these work with over 300 different Android devices as of today. It allows people with multiple devices to not have to install anything on their computer this driver will allow those 300 devices to communicate with fastboot and adb. If you service a friends Android your good to go, if you have multiple devices you are good to go.
These also work with APX devices which is a special flash mode for Nvidia Tegra devices... all in one little zip.
Hope this helps

Your drivers work like a charm, as usual (old asus transformer prime time).
Thanks!
You should add that the nexus 5 USB connection must be set to MTP mode for the driver installation to work. I changed it and it stopped the driver from installing properly.

Hi,
at the moment my phone is running on 5.9.026S Small EUI by Aurel. I really would like to update to the latest rom, but unfortunately the file transfer between phone and computer via cable doesn't work.
The computer and the phone always show me an error while trying to copy files. Sometimes the computer even freezes while transfer. Does anybody had the same issue? I really would like to save my pictures before doing a clean install.
Thank you in advance!
Heyyo, hmm what does device manager look like? Is the Le Max 2 configured as a USB MTP device? Might have the wrong driver setup.
Right click it > update driver > let me choose > (Standard MTP Device) > USB MTP Device > apply.
Otherwise? Please follow this guide to temporarily boot to TWRP where MTP file transfer works fine. Worst case Ontario? You may need to configure MTP driver as mentioned above.

LoL What?? No
Make sure that your Android phone is set to "Media device (MTP)" mode when connected to the computer. To do this, connect your phone to the computer via USB, then swipe down on your phone's notification panel and tap on the "USB" notification. From there, select "File transfer" or "Media device (MTP)".
Also, enable USB Debugging on Your Android Phone.
Go to Control Panel then Device manager then Portable Device wher you will find your device with exclamation ( ! ) mark. Right Click on it, update driver --- Browse my computer for driver -- Let me pick from a list --- select MTP USB Device -- Next
Probably you will be now able .....
