I want to make a walkie-talkie style phone app for android wear. When you receive a phone call, your mic is muted. You can unmute it by holding down a touch screen button on your watch. That way if you use a bluetooth earbud that creates an audio feedback loop you can use your phone like a walkie-talkie and have clear communication. How do you make a dialer app for android wear?

anybody know? Perhaps some app that does it?
Basically I have to do a lot of long conference calls for work, and generally speaking you need to mute yourself when you're not talking so the line stays quiet. It is a bit awkward putting the phone down, waiting the screen to turn on and jabbing the mute button on the screen each time you want to say something quick. Being able to mute via a hardware key would therefore be extremely useful but i can't seem to figure if it's possible!
thank you

Use a headset control app, like Jays, from the Play Store, and wired headset. One of the controls is double-click of the headset button to mute/unmute. Or you can customize the button to mute/unmute depending on how you click or hold the button, or whatever.
This does not work. In call controls aren't affected while music controls can be customized . Any work around?
This is a bit old thread, but I felt the same need and made a hardware switch that does exactly what you're looking for.
Visit the Kickstarter page below and let me know what you think:
Search JackFlip on Kickstarter.
Fixed, had to bump up the headphones button priority. It seems to be impossible to play music on Jellybean. I can't change the tracks with my headphones button anymore because a long press brings up Google Now and 2-3 taps brings up voice dial (which I'm sure I've uninstalled). Is there a way to disable one of these without freezing them so they can still be used? Thank you!

Im looking for this too..actually dont care about google now or voice search.. just want my long press buttons back.
hoping someone knows howto..
Have the same problem :/ is there any fix??
Have had my Z2 for a while now, but there's 1 thing driving me nuts that I cannot seem to find a solution for. Every other Android phone I've had (Nexus' and Samsungs) has let you mute and unmute the mic whilst on a call using a short press on the button on a set of headphones (And a long press to hangup). The Z2 only seems to hangup, with no option at all to mute/unmute. I've looked everywhere in settings, tried the woefully buggy Smart Key app from Sony (Not only does it not work to do a mute/unmute, it breaks more things that I could count), used different headsets etc, none of them work.
I was kind of hoping the 4.4.4 update with the revised dialer would finally allow such a basic feature, but no dice. Anyone have any solutions or ideas to this working as expected?

I'm talking about muting/unmuting from the headset, not on the phone itself. If you're on multi-person, multi-hour calls where you have to regularly mute your mic frequently, doing it from the headset is so much easier than waking the screen all the time.
HI I'm having Xperia z2 and having the same problem. During in call perid the mic and mute button automatically activate and after while call cancel suddenly, but if I press side power button and let the screen not awake position the above problem do not appear.
How to solve this?

I have 3 sound modes: sound, vibration and silent. If I choose vibration then I go to volume settings and ringtone melody and notifications volume are zero. Then if I set the volume of melody and notifications up, sound mode changes to "sound" and vibration turns off... So I can't find the way to set ringtone and notifications sound and vibration on at the same time.
Can you help me to do this step by step?
Thank you very much!
Yes, you are right. It is not a general setup but an app by app setup.
Ex : I use "alarm pro" and for each alarm we can choose type of vibration AND melody for sound. Other app. For notification there are app with more setup than general Gear S sound.

Thank you again but I don't understand... How and where exactly can I setup app by app to put sound and vibration at Gear S? Example: incoming calls, whatsapp notifications, clash of clans notifications... There is not problem for me to do app by app, but I can't find the way to do this...

But I'm not talking about Gear alarms. I want to use sound and vibration at incoming calls and notifications of my paired phone like whatsapp, SMS, and so on... Is there anyway to configure this? There is no way to set sound and vibration at the same time,it is it? How would you use sound and vibration of incoming calls or whatsapp notifications? Thanks again.
i use this app i get the vibration and sound

Is it possible to diversify the call volume compared to the volume of the notifications of the various apps (ex: whatsapp, telegram, etc.) and messages?
In my Galaxy S5 I had the option of having high volume for call ringing and low volume for notifications. With the Mate 20 pro, instead, there is a single volume for calls and notifications
Thanks.

Emui doesn't support independent notification volume. It's either on or off. So if you're on a call you get a notification it will blow out your eardrum. Not unless you globally put the device into silent mode. Then in which case you won't get any notifications.[emoji1787]

excuse my ignorance regarding EMUI, but is there not an app that allows you to split calls from notifications? Or it is Emui who just does not allow it of his own.
Thanks
