I'm on sultan CM ROM but I had this issue with official CM too.
When I'm listening to music with GPM, my battery lose more than 10% per hour.
In my screenshot, I lost 17% in 75 minutes.
Does anybody know how can I fix this?
Same here! If anyone had a solution, I'd love to know!

I think I may have found a solution, and it was an easy one.
I reflashed my ROM and the battery drain was gone.
I have not used much GPM since then, I'll see in the next days if the battery drain is really gone.
I have a solution, BlackPlayer.

Well no not really haha. I don't pay for the radio/spotify-like service but you can upload something like 20,000+ songs for free and stream them for free on any device. So I use it for that instead of filling my SD Card with music.

After seeing weird wakeups of Contacts+ app, I started to search for a solution and found this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2155737
It hibernates the app rather than killing it, preventing it to launch itself again. If an app is obsessed to wake your phone and drain your battery, it's time you teach some manners
This will help in the battery drain? on leaked ICS?

Battery drain of leaked ICS isnt related with app abuses. Greenify stops battery drains of aggressive apps like facebook.
i dont want to sound bad but...
IT WAS IN THE XDA NEWS THIS WEEK!
you should check the news more often. lol.
it wont help much with the ICS kernel problem, but a will help at least a little, since a LOT of "Blur" apps cause the battery drain[since... eclair(yeah, 2.0!)]

How did you get the idea that i havent read that news? News you said was on feb 25th, I installed the app a week ago.
I just wanted to share it with people. And those who have problems with nonsleeping apps, will surely benefit it.
I think it works just fine on me, useful info. Thx

I am a heavy torrent user and usually depend on overnight torrenting to get all my stuff done.
With my previous phone, I used to download using ttorrent all night and I have a few concerns now regarding my new S III.
So, what are the adverse effects of leaving a torrent download overnight with the AC adapter connected?
Any help appreciated.

Go check out tTorrent. I've been using that app for years. Never had a problem.
Ever since an update a couple of months back, Vevo is killing my battery.
I have a Chromecast device and after using Vevo, I show constant communication between Vevo and my Chromecast device (using network log app).
My phone will not sleep after using Vevo (confirmed via better battery stats). As soon as I uninstall Vevo, my phone sleeps again.
I've emailed Vevo a few times and they have not responded. They've also issued a few updates since I noticed the issue and those updates have not fixed the problem.
Can anyone with a chromecast confirm this same behavior as well? I have a Verizon GS3, running stock (4.1.2) /rooted.
Is anyone able to at least confirm the same experience?

confirmed. I downloaded vevo yesterday to try it out with my Chromecast. Then I noticed my wifi on my phone was constantly downloading and uploading. I was losing about 10% battery every 15 minutes or so. I didn't realize it was the app until today. Uninstalled Vevo, now my phone is back to normal. Not gonna bother with Vevo again.

Great. Finally found someone else with the problem. What phone, what OS?
Do you happen to be a Plex user too? I get it with Plex too, but I don't get it with all chromecast apps. Strange. I had Plex support helping for a bit, but they stopped replying. Vevo support is worthless. They won't reply.

I'm using a Galaxy S3 on Android 4.3 (pure stock) on AT&T. I'm not familiar with Plex. I was hoping Vevo would be good to keep because I found lots of videos on there that I was looking forward to watching. Oh, well...

Same phone. Interesting.
I ran across this several days ago and decided to test it on my own Le Max 2: With it I managed to get 6.5 hours SoT with fairly heavy web browsing (Opera) and music playback (Poweramp). I'm running AospExtended 5.4 Official 2018-04-17 and Helix Engine 2.0 Beta Free.

Kind regards,
Bill...
Thanks for this advice, i will test it, because it's a really good idea. Considering the fact, that i'm not a heavy user, it should be interesting, if the effect is still noticable.
For me too much apps that do not open or open very slowly at the moment.
I like the dynamic flow of slowing down or speeding up the CPU for the phone needs. I will check the development later on.....

That's probably due to the kernel your ROM is using. I've not experienced any of those problems with the ROM I'm using... :good:
Should I make changes to the default profile (I assume "Balanced Profile") or just leave it as it is?

I can confirm this, I uninstalled it hence. Also it didn't have any noticeable improvement like 1 hour SOT extra or so hence using it is a no no.

I just left at the default, which is Dynamic Balanced. By the way, that profile incorporates Battery, Balanced, and Performance mode switching.

It may. But I suspect you'll be better results with it if the device is rooted and allows Super User access. As a matter of fact, root access is required for it...
Is there something wrong with my phone? I have it over a year now and i noticed that during this time, its battery life completely dropped.
First it was like 70% of battery at the end of the day,
then like about 55 to 60 and now its 45.
i found out that google app is drainig a lot of power but obviously there is no way to stop it or to uninstall it.
Any advices? Im on stock 8.0.0.378 European software, zero modifications.
