I have a stand alone android device that supports bluetooth (keyboard and mouse) and has hdmi out. i use it to play videos, watch youtube, listen to music on my tv.
here's my problem.. some youtube videos are blocked on "mobile" devices.
I'm using the device basically as a pc (running android os) but theres no setting to have the youtube app report to youtube that its not a mobile app. does anyone have any other app suggestions? (that you can install on a android device, but report to youtube that their a browser.
any suggestions? are you a developer? write this app! ill buy a copy!! (and beta test)
there has to be both people in my situation and people who just want to watch all videos on their android devices.
i am also doing the same. how do we make you tube run everything on my nexus 7. sick of app version blocking everything. then Rhett desktop version not supporting flash.

Hi Guys,
Just wanted to know is there any way to make streaming apps work on Remix OS PC. I have installed it succesfully via UEFI dual boot on my Acer Laptop. Installed all apps like youtube, chrome via Playstore. But when I installed NBA TV app, all video cannot be played. It will just show "The video is currently not available".
Is there any way I can do to make it work or do I need to install something?
Please help.
Thanks!
i have the same issue. some apps stream but others don't. i don't know why.
maybe having m3u8 file of that live stream and playing it with an app being capable of url playing helps. i dont know.

Is there a web feed available? If so you could try flashfox browser, I was able to watch Amazon prime videos using it on devices that wouldn't play the app.
i have not tried to watch games in browser with flash. I just preferred using the app itself since it is on android. Playing it in browser can be done also in windows. thanks for the info.

I am away from home so I can't boot up Remix to check myself, but have another idea to try. I know some apps check build prop to get the ro.product info eg. device, manufacturer, name etc. If those lines are in Remix it may work to change it to spoof a device that is known to run the app.

Thanks for the idea. I have tried editing the build.prop. but still it is not working. Maybe the Remix OS itself is not ready yet for some apps. or there is something in the NBA app or server than cannot recognize the remix device / OS.
I'm trying this for PC first since I'm planning to buy the Remix Mini. But if the NBA app or other apps will not run normally on the Remix Mini, I might wait for a moment to buy this box.
I got the MiBox 4K so I could watch Google Play content in my backyard, outside of WiFi range. I realized quickly that the Android TV version of Google Play Movies and TV does not support downloading. I'm still trying to figure out something before returning it.
I have sideloading working and am trying to install the full version of the Google Play Movies and TV and then use Chainfire's Sideload Launcher to run it. Unfortunately, I get a "Did not install" message after going through the install process. I'm wondering if this a hard rule on Android TV or if I've made some other mistake in APK choice or security settings.
thanks for any help!
you can't replace system app, if you want do this, you must root your device and delete this applications from /system/app
Hi,
I need help with youtube for android tv 1.3.11/1.3.8, I can't pair my phone to cast on my box. I don't have option in settings to pair a device nor does my youtube app recognize any device where to cast.
I know i can cast with kodi and yatse but Im asking for casting from youtube app to youtube for android tv.
I found on this forum I should install google cast receiver but nothing changes, app is installed but thats it.
I hope someone can help me
You need a mod of Google cast receiver or install it at system level. There are tutorials i found but i cant test them because i dont have a tv box.
Hi,
I know that google discontinued their tvs but there must be a way around to get all the apps working?
Tv basically wont access internet for some reason. Every app is useless. Good thing is we use roku so dont depend on the apps but I'd like to start using youtube, send videos directly to tv to load and watch. Is this possible now a days?
Nvm roku has youtoob app.
