Hi all.
I have just received my Redmi Note 3 two days back. The query I have is whether my device has the FPC or the Goodix FP scanner. AIDA64 is showing the sensor as FPC 102x manufactured by FPC.
But I have read in certain threads that AIDA64 may give false information on this. So, is there any way to decisively determine the FPC scanner type.
Any help will be appreciated.

As far as I know you have to look if in this path /system/etc/firmware for any goodix files... On mine there are several goodix named files.

Open camera app, touch fingerprint, if it does not click photos, you have Goodix FP.
Also, open following files as text:
/sys/class/input/input2/name
/sys/class/input/input11/name
and post what you have inside them.
Thank you for the instructions. The camera did capture photo when I touched the FP scanner.
The files in Input 2 and Input 11 show these.
I think this is the FPC scanner, but I'll wait for someone else to confirm this.

Goodix users can take photos in version 6.9.9 MM.
Try flashing global stable and check.
You mostly have Goodix.

I can use FP to click photo on miui 7 7.3.2.0 and also miui 8 8.0.1.0 so It is FPC right ?
my camera doesn't capture pictures from FP censor
neither i am able to use my fingerprint sensor in other ROMs please help!

By other ROMs, you meant custom ROMs, right? It means, you've goodfix FP sensor. Well, you can't do nothing at the moment, unless devs of those custom ROMs implement kernel code of Goodfix into the ROM. If you want to use FP sensor, stick with MIUI ROMs for now.

Um, only devs can implement it. So, yes.
My RN3(SD) is running on MIUI 8 Global Stable rom and when i touch Fingerprint sensor while in camera app, picture gets clicked. So, its FPC right? and i wont have any problems in custom roms??

Goodix users (and fpc) can take photos using fingerprint in 6.9.9 MM.

You could try flashing stable global Lollipop and check if it works. If you still can take photos using fingerprint on MIUI Global Stable, you have fpc.
Or if you are rooted, check for goodix folder in /data/ . If you don't have, you probably are good to go!

Goto settings->>about->>tap on cpu 4-5 times.
It will create bug report.
Now,goto internal storage->>MIUI folder->>find the bug report zip file->>extract it.
Search for bugreport.log file->>open it text editor.
Search for androidboot.fpsensor if "= fpc" your sensor is fpc1020 and if "=goodix" you have goodix sensor.
Attached SS too.
Rom version: Miui 8 beta 6.9.9(MM)

The android 6 GOOGLE has introduced restrictions of work with a fingerprint scanner: after switching on your device, you need to enter the PIN \ password once, and banned the use of the scanner when the device is locked by third-party applications.

If YES - i need framework folder from your rom to see difference (on S7 it works).

Can try to adapt for samsung roms, but need system\framework folder from your roms (deodexed if exists)
i am using this on ss s6 MM 6.0.1 G920P stock, and it works perfectly.

It works with system framework, no matter what app was lock your screen.
You can just test.
Today evening will try to fix Samsung framework.

Few days ago have some tests on 4pda with S5 framework and on S5 device.
Have no luck . Very difficult to test without device.
Also have see, that SystemUI has keyguard files (as framework), but seems it calls system framework methods.
Logs show, that not all calls was catched.

Wow. This is amazing and works great. As someone else mentioned, the PIN lock message is still there, and stays there until you unlock it with a PIN. This is minor, but would be nice if it could be removed.

Got it working Still need to test more(and clean up the code with all my failed attempts) but preliminary tests are successful on TW MM 6.0.1.

Sorry, not sure what you mean.
My phone is a Nexus 6P and your module IS working. That is, the fingerprint unlocks the phone. Just the message remains, and it does so even after the first time unlocking. It only goes away when I manually unlock it once (put in my PIN).

when I use some ROMs.
I can only use the front camera can not switch to the rear camera.
Are u using the correct rom. I also have the same phn but i didn't face any problem. Try clean reflashing. And always flash firmware 1st followed by rom and gapps

Hi Me and my Friend have the same issue, Every time we flashed Custom rom on our redmi note 4x we encounterd rear camera bug it has no switch option to back, and i also notice that Torch is not working on all custom rom except MIUI BASED CUSTOM rom, it works well on our device. I'll provide you the link of the rom and the screenshot of the camera.

Whe got diffrent camera from the other Redmi Note 4 and 4X.
Our camera is Omnivision Ov13855.
We need some one to port the camera files and make it to arichive(zip).
There is nothing we can do now.
I already told you.
Flash Halogen OS and the camera will work.
We need some one to make the fix.

its just a driver problem as i know. developers must put the 3 camera sensor (as we known, rn4/4x has 3 camera sensor) to the gerrit(?) change for camera support. omnivision camera user like me must wait the developers.
im using aex released date april 25 because it the only Aex version that support omnivision, Im hoping and praying that Developers will fix some of the issue on non-miui based rom. Kuddos Developer for all the hard work you've done to our device.

Yes, its encrypted. (afaik all Indian versions are encrypted) I had one bug, no real-time speed indicator for wifi though it works fine for mobile data.

19S was the last official Indian version, this 21S is beta
This is good, better than the last official Indian release 19S. They must have been pretty close to releasing this before LeEco India went tits up. Flash it in TWRP then immediately format data partition to get rid of encryption. Reboot to recovery and flash Magisk (I did the latest v14.0) then you are good to go. May have a few tiny bugs but is basically a solid, stable (non)release. It still has the old LeEco launcher with the Live button and no app drawer, but I have disabled it, along with almost everything LeEco, and am using Google Now launcher.

Not sure if you can update from stock 19s to this via stock recovery. No harm in trying it though.
Indian LeEco firmware has encrypted data partition. That's fine if you don't care about rooting and debloating, it makes the system slightly slower but more secure. If you are happy on a completely stock system, just leave it as it is.

ok thanks Sir, I have X821. can TWRP and rooting solve the Encryption? i am confused regarding Leeco because no one Answer properly. i have Some questions please help..
1. which TWRP version and Custom Rom is 80-90% stable ( Camera, Strong4G Signal, Audio Etc)?
2. How to Revert from custom to Stock? is TWRP method for Flashing Stock safe and Any Stock Rom IN or CN?( My Main Question)

Hi,I'got 21s indian install whit root & exposed + viper.Nova launcher prime for extras.Installed on 19s wipes Dalvik y caché.
Frist flash ROM
Flash magisk zip 15.3
Reboot, install magisk 5.5.5apk
Download modules Xposed & more
Reboot recovery flash modules.

I have miui 10 Eu 8.7.19 and yesterday i see a OTA update to 8.7.26 and i tried to download it but the download do not end (i think internet connection problem that on this place is unstable). This morning i try to update next time but the OTA update say 8.8.9 version but if i try to update say that i have the last version :|

Try to remove cache and try again or download the latest rom and flash it manually in Twrp.

Thank you for your responce, The cache is The file on "root" folder? I see only the old download 8.7.26 with "temp" extension and the md5 file for 8.8.9 but deleted it the problem still here

Will there be any non MIUI custom Roms for mi 8? Any in development Like aicp, lineage, resurrection etc.. Ordered this device hoping there will be support but so far nothing and I'm getting worried...

It's supports the Project Treble roms but I don't have figured it out how to use them on the Mi 8
project treble rom will work ofcourse but the problem is that no one will fix for any encountered bugs specifically for our device oh before i forgot the notch also will be a problem

Dual GPS is not supported by the firmware yet.

No GPS app report the mobile as being using the dual signal.
The accuracy is around 16m for most users (4m at best near China while moving) way far from the theoretical 30cm reported by Xiaomi.
I've tried myself with the Chinese ROM, the beta, the global and the Xiaomi.eu and I can confirm it. It's not supported yet.

When I was downloading it about 25 minutes ago it was pretty quick, about 10 minutes took to download it. If they pushed OTA to all the users of Mi 9T Pro at once it could cause some congestion or slower download but I believe you'll download it in half an hour.

I don't know. I'm doing some backup so I could immediately factory reset my phone after I update to MIUI11. I know I don't need to but I always do factory reset after major updates.

Does any of that affect twrp/magisk?
I have the redmi k20 pro, xiaomi.eu beta miui 11. I've tried to install this global rom but no luck, it gives immediately an red error. I've formated system, vendor and all the others but can't install it. Any help?

I downloaded the rom a couple of days ago when people were saying that it was a beta and it's the exact same file as this one provided in OP
I had the OTA update but now it's gone. Does it happen to anyone else? Or it's just me? It's so weird having the update available and then, lose it.

Yes happened to me as well. I just downloaded the above link in the OP. Updated to MIUI 11 ( locked BL, fully on stock)
without any fear you can update

Look man, I got that link from my log while downloading Global (non-beta)stable MIUI 11 from OTA. I don't know is it the same one as beta link from other thread but ROM from my link was stable and not beta and it worked.
Xiaomi did something so even people who got the same ROM from OTA(not my link) but didn't updated it right away and waited more than 6 hours couldn't update it and it showed in Updater like there is no newer version than 10.3.3.0 so they had to redownload ROM from my link to update to MIUI 11.
I think Xiaomi wanted to calm down some number of people by changing the same ROM from beta stable to stable for about 6 hours and after that they turned it again to beta stable and it was useless if someone doesn't have beta authenticated Mi account.
For some people this ROM still works but I think those are only the people who were intended to get this OTA(even if they don't have beta auth. Mi account) but didn't downloaded it while it was declared as stable.
So blame Xiaomi for this mess, don't blame me.

I explained everything literally 3 posts above your post. It looks like it is beta which Xiaomi declared as stable for 6 hours yesterday and after that they declared it as beta again. Xiaomi probably did that to calm down some Mi 9T Pro global ROM users because they are pissed of by the fact that MIUI 11 global ROM is still not coming to Mi 9T Pro and deadline was 12th of November while some devices got it even before they should(like Redmi Note 8 Pro which should get MIUI 11 in december or older Xiaomi devices which should get it next year).
Here you can clearly see that people who got this update yesterday got it as stable and not beta stable:
