Hi,
I try to installiert the newest beta, I install cofface twrp and alka twrp. I get an error if I want to install a Miui with one of this Twrp's.
I read much threads Form Here but I cant find any reason for this. I'm now on Cm13.
best regards
Try to format each of your partition like system, data, cache & dalvik/art cache. I do this yesterday and sucsess to flash miui eu rom from cm.
Good luck.
The reason is recent marshmallow roms are encrypted
Unless you patch your boot.img or rollback to android 5.1.1 base again, you cant flash via TWRP
I do that every time when I flash anything with TWRP, which TWRP have you used?
How can I patch the boot.img? If I rollback to global miui, I have to reboot to edl mode via adb and use miflash?
If you are not using Cofface Twrp, then flash patched boot image, i recommend use official TWRP, just flash the recovery rom and then flash "lazyflasher.zip" google it.
I am on latest global with 5.1 base. If I'll flash the beta (6.0.1 base) and then the lazyflasher, I think I would not be encrypted but in a locked bootloader. Am I rt?

Hey guys.
I'm using a 32/3GB kenzo with an unlocked bootloader running official rr mm.
I formatted the phone, flashed CM14 firmware, flashed the official RR nougat and GAPPS, then rebooted to system.
At this point, it started bootlooping, booting to the MI splashscreen, staying there for about half the time it usually does, before rebooting and repeating the process.
At this point, I was unable to access recovery, but was able to access fastboot and edl.
Flashing a recovery using the "fastboot flash recovery" command failed, so I assume that the partitions were corrupted.
I had to revert to MIUI by flashing through edl using MI flash, which fixed all the issues.
Can someone tell me what I did wrong?
Or should I follow the newbie guide 2.0 from the forums?
Thanks in advance to anyone who replies.

Which recovery you uaed for flashing rr n. Because you went bootloop and recovery was not able to access that means may be some problems in recovery or either in rom/gapps zip. Make sure you are flashing gapps for NOUGAT only. And use latest stable miui firmware (not cm14 zip one although may be both are same)
Try this
1. Flash zcx recovery (I recommend this, never disappointed)
2. Flash latest miui stable firmware
3. Flash rom zip
4. Flash gapps n
Boot to system
5. Then flash kernel or anything.

Thanks for the reply, I'll try it soon. Can you tell me how to get the miui stable firmware?
Should I fastboot flash latest MIUI stable before flashing the ROM or is there a MIUI firmware zip file to flash?

There is flashable zip file which is extracted from miui rom only. So both way will be good as flash latest stable miui rom and then twrp > rom zip > gapps. Or twr0 > firmware zip (search in any custom rom thread you will get one) > custom rom zip > gapps.
Only benefit of flashing firmware zip is less time consuming and less file size (around 50mb) compare to full miui rom.

unlock your bootloader again it will run without problem..
I am on Global stable miui 8.2.4 but for some reasons i don't like it and i wanna downgrade to 8.1.15 . I have Twrp installed and rooted . Can i flash recovery 8.1.15 rom using twrp ?
Or i need to flash a fastboot rom using twrp ?
somebody?
I have flashed stock 8.2.4.0 from 8.2.2.0 with flashfire, although I have twrp too. No problems just put the zip in right folder.
Yes you can. I have flashed both dev and stable. @jazzh mentions something about folders. TWRP doesn't really care about that.
Be warned though that flashing the official zip also replaces the recovery and there is a bug with 8.1.15 where you cannot flash TWRP back afterwards.
If you go back to 8.1.15 and want to use TWRP for flashing a custom rom simply use
fastboot boot [recovery name].img
to soft load TWRP and do all your work from there up.
Yes, that's a good advice.
I soft boot twrp whenever performing backup or updating magisk.
I just mentioned folders because flashfire is started from os and it will look into the ota folder and if it finds the zip it will offer rebooting to perform the update.
i'm in trouble. i'm running an old cm13 build on my oneplus x.
i wanted to clean install lineageos14, so i tried to flash the newest twrp recovery which didn't work (i have the old bootloader). so now i have no recovery on my device, cm13 is still booting fine.
when i try to flash twrp trough fastboot it tells me my device is not unlocked. when i try to oem unlock it reboots directly into cm13, not into recovery as i dont have one on my device. oem unlock is checked in developer settings.
i don't know how i can get a working recovery, i tried to flash old twrp (2.8.7) and the stock recovery trough fastboot, but no luck. how can i flash the stock oxygen rom without recovery?
maybe someone can help me. thanks in advance.
This guide will help https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-x/general/guide-mega-unbrick-guide-hard-bricked-t3272108/
Latest stock oxygen will be flashed by recovery tool. But before it you should backup all needed data from internal memory.
Hi,this is my first time installing a custom rom and recovery and rooting and all.
I am on MIUI 10 8.11.22 beta on RN3 2gb.
And have unlocked bootloader using official method.
Currently following
https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/how-to/unlock-bootloader-twrp-root-7-2-3-t3359492
Planning to
flash official twrp-3.3.1-0-kenzo
Install Havoc 9.0 OS https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/development/rom-havoc-os-t3845305
Install Magisk
but twrp site is showing
This device uses dm-verity!
This means that swiping to allow system modifications will prevent you from being able to boot if you are using the stock kernel. In order to bypass dm-verity's boot prevention, you will have to install a kernel that has dm-verity disabled in the fstab.

I think it is about boot.img but I do not have patched boot.img of my miui version and also (from above guide) to patch boot.img i need fastboot rom but linkhttps://en.miui.com/a-234.html only takes me to Chinese miui website.
Can any one share link to boot.img of fastboot rom for MIUI 10 8.11.22 beta?
And in Havoc OS post

do I need custom kernel for 9.0?
In Magisk Post
Prerequisite
If you plan to install custom kernels, flash the zip AFTER installing Magisk
Make sure to remove any ‘boot image mods’ such as other root solutions. The easiest way is to restore the boot image from factory images, or reflash a non-prerooted custom ROM

does that mean i do not need to flash boot.img or do i need to flash it afterwards?
Qustions
1) Do I need boot.img file of my version or any will do?
2)Do I need custom kernel for havoc os 9.0?
3) how to proceed after flashing twrp(need help)?

If u official unlocked using miunlock tool then u dont need any patched boot.img.
Flash latest twrp 3.3.1 kenzo
Download ur favourite rom and nano gapps zip to external sd card.
First go to wipe and do format data.
You must do it or rom wont boot.
So click Format data
Type Yes to format
This will decrypt and erase internal sd.
Then Swipe to "factory reset"
Then Go to install
Flash rom zip
Flash nano gapps.zip
Then Reboot and enjoy

I know this is off topic but do you know something about "Red Light Blinking" and "init Storage:Fail" ?
Thanks for the tip. Currently on havoc os . Installation went smoothly
FIRST OF ALL BACK UP FILES, PHOTOS, CONTACTS ETC
REMOVE ANY PASSWORD, LOCKSCREEN FINGERPRINT ETC, PHONE FREE TO USE WITHOUT ANYTHING SO YOU SHOULD BE FINE ON TWRP
battery more than 50%, ideal would be between 70 and 90%
UNLOCK BOOTLOADER
INSTALL TWRP for MI 9T/K20, download here: turn off the phone and go into fastboot, VOL- and power at the same time, decompress the folder and choose the file Flash_TWRP.bat
enter TWRP volume + and power at the same time, as soon as MI appears
do wipe data / factory reset, no need to format data with this TWRP-DO NOT LET THE ROM BOOT TO OFICIAL
choose rom file DOWNLOAD XIAOMI.EU 9.10.24 MI9 T and flash, reboot
for MI9T PRO/K20 PRO TWRP version NOW COMPATIBLE WITH ANDROID 9 AND ANDROID 10:twrp-3.3.1-25-raphael-mauronofrio
[*]ATTENTION:YOU SHOULD FORMAT DATA ON TWRP IF YOU STAY IN BOOTLOOP
DO NOT LET THE ROM BOOT TO OFICIAL
choose rom file DOWNLOAD XIAOMI.EU 9.10.24 MI9 T PRO and flash, restart, 5 minutes and enter

Hi so recently today I was able to successfully flash my stock ROM from Global 11.0.3 to Europe 11.2 (20.3.5).
All works, I have a new and version specific TWRP recovery which solves the decryption issue and such.
Only problem though is I can't seem to update my ROM from the latest Europe 11.2 (20.3.12). I am aware that we cannot install OTA updates like we normally would because we are on a custom recovery. I tried flashing it from the 'choose update package' where it brought me to the TWRP and executed OpenScript to flash, and also tried flashing from TWRP itself. No luck. Bootloop into Redmi Logo and TWRP recovery, so I end up restoring the working Eu version.
An updated tutorial on how to install OTA roms on custom recoveries would really be appreciated, thanks!
Hey OP, could you make a How to install GSI guide?... I'm really interested on doing that.

you have to flash https://build.nethunter.com/android-tools/no-verity-opt-encrypt/no-verity-opt-encrypt-6.1.zip and then update the OTA..dont forget that we normally use a custom rom with TWRP, no point of having twrp with stock rom??? try xiaomi.eu , its way better and you dont have any problems with updates.

Hello, you are lost mate...
You use Xiaomi.eu ROM, it's a custom MIUI ROM (Not Official ROM).
You can install updates given by Updater app (System app) without issue on this ROM.
If your phone bootloop just after a ROM update, and not after flashing Magisk, it can be because of a bad encryption from "bad" TWRP (so you need to "Format Data" in new TWRP <-- installed by xiaomi.eu ROM)
-OR-
Did you use my K20 to Mi 9T conversion patch (from xiaomi.eu forum)?
Check for update with Updater app, download and install it. That's simple on xiaomi.eu ROMs.
Trying to install evolution X on my Mi 9T but whenever I flash TWRP the phone won't boot to it, just keeps loading the fastboot screen. Anyone have any ideas where I'm going wrong? I've reflashed stock with miflash for now to get it working.

I have the same problem, but I can't find a solution. Did you find it ?
I found the solution with explication on how to install havoc_OS
after format data you have to reboot to recovery, flash firmware +rom+gapps...without firmware it wont boot on some roms..read well OP instructions, mine are only for xiaomi.eu, you dont need to flash firmware and it will boot fine.
