Unable to connect with bluetooth - Honor 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a garmin edge 820. I am able to pair, but not actually connect. When I use the Garmin Connect app it never shows up as a connected device.
any suggestions?

Uninstall and reinstall then try again

Several things you can do, just pick one at a time:
1 - Clean data of App
2 - If you have TWRP, clean cache and Dalvik
3 - A simple reboot
4 - Test with other phone
5 - Backup, factory reset and restore or backup and re-flash ROM

Is there any update on this. I am having the same problem...?

Have you tried the steps provided by zinko_pt?!

ActiveSync issue: Cannot sync

I tried to Sync TP using USB cable but ActiveSync 4.5 won't pick up the phone. I don't know what to do.
I restarted PC, TP (took battery out as well), re-installed ActiveSync on PC, and still nothing doing.
I did a search and found some people saying it could be the cable, but I don't think so because the PC registers the TP and even launches ActiveSync, but it then disconnects and nothing doing. TP even recognizes the connection, but then a pop up comes and says that I have to install ActiveSync on my PC.
Any suggestions much appreciated.
start -> settings -> connections -> USB to PC -> Uncheck ''enable faster data synchronization .
Soft reset
This should do the trick.
Next time use the search button my friend

I did a search and the problem is that I don't have ''enable faster data synchronization"...instead I have "enable advanced network functionality" which was already unchecked.

what rom are you using?
i had a problem similar to this when i was using juicy 4.7
if you put your phone in bootloader try flashing a new rom to see if you have the same issue. Your computer wont show your TP is connected when your in bootloader so just go ahead and flash, it will work

No custom rom's. I like it original.
I have at present exactly the same problem. Is anybody aware of a solution?
Thank you for the support, Siegfried
The only thing that solved this for me was a hard reset. I tried many things and for ME, this was the only thing that worked.
May sound crazy but....
Did you CHECK the box that said "Enable Advanced Network Functionality"? You may have to re-establish a partnership with Activesync.

Bluetooth stopped working....

Whenever I now try and switch bluetooth on it instantly snaps the button back to the off position, I have tried turning it on in loads of different ways and it just won't come back on...
It was working fine till yesterday, I installed Swapp Link app and let it manage the BT connection and now it won't switch on... I have remove / reinstalled the app and restarted phone etc, nothing has fixed it.. any ideas? ;(

Do you have any app like Liama or similar?
Maybe that app has rule to switch your BT?
If you don't have it, try to restart TS and wipe both cache from recovery (if you have it)

nope nothing like that, I even disabled "2x battery" battery saving app and that's not helped either :S not sure why it suddenly just stopped as I haven't add any software onto it....

Bluetooth also suddenly stopped working for me. And it is not possible to turn it on. To make things more interesting - I didn't install anything on my omate since I upgraded to TEST_RELEASE_Omate_2100_TrueSmart_20140314.zip on the day when my omate 8GB/1GB 2100 arrived more than a month ago. It worked fine all this time, and without any visible cause it just stopped today.
I wanted to tether to ipad to provide internet connection, while riding in a bus, and suddenly snap - bluetooth turned itself off. I tried restarting omate. I couldn't figure anything to get it back to work.
it happened exactly 6 hours ago. About the time when you made your post.

how to do a hard reset of omate, without voiding the warranty? Do I need to wait until battery runs out?
No, just turn off quickboot and power the watch down. When you turn it back on Bluetooth will probably reinitialize and work again. For a while.

Quickboot didn't knock it out. The defective TrueSmart MTK firmware and hardware combination cause all sorts of problems with using Bluetooth, including some that require a full power cycle reset. That is not possible with Quickboot enabled unless the battery runs down or is removed.

Glad to see your BT and TS are working fine now...
All el devices could be "fixed" by restarting it.
They are all using RAM and/or dalvik cache and that has to cleared sometimes...
Dalvik cache is a "place" where Android decompile apk files for quicker access, so when you wip dalvik cache from recovery you are clearing everything so system has to decompile apk files again and RAM is cleared also...
It's like fresh start and it "fix" many software issues that way...
If you have ADB tools and rooted device, you can use adb reboot from adb shell, no need to open your watch, lose warranty and pull battery out...

[Q] Gear S STANDALONE?

Anybody can use Nike plus or Runtastic standalone (witout pairing with a phone)?
Or can do it only after rooted it?
Nike +: I tried running the app without the BT connected, and the Nike app would not run without it.
Don't know about runtastic, but I would believe that it also would require the pairing. At least for the initial setup and user statistics.
The S has yet to be rooted.

You only need run Nike+ with BT connected once. After that, you can use it stand alone without BT connection.
Root has nothing to do with how apps are written. If an app needs the phone app to work, it will require phone regardless you root or not. You need to change the app, not the watch.

Yes you are right nike+ working without pairing, but I cannot get any map.
I have rooted my gear S hoping to install same runtastic apk as the phone (working without pairing with other device).
Now that is rooted I don't know how to do because adb is not working on the gear S.

Wifi Only Connection and Speaker Questions

It is my understanding that the Zen2 using only a wifi connection can send texts, do "OK Google", and perform other data related functions even if not connected to a phone (i.e. if phone has both bluetooth and wifi off, or is not in proximity to the watch nor on the same wifi network). Is that the case? Does the phone need to at least be connected to cellular data, or can the watch still communicate over wifi even if the phone has no data connection (or is completely off)?
Regarding the speaker: I know that the Zen2 can play music stored on the phone. But, is there any way (or app) to stream music (or video such as youtube) on the watches speaker without being connected to the phone (watch is only connected to a wifi network)?
Lastly, what about phone calls? Is there any way for the watch to receive/make a phone call "independently" of the phone if the watch is only connected to wifi? If not, what about receiving or making a "data only" call (such as using Hangouts)?
TIA!
1. Watch must be connected to phone.
2. No.
3. No.

You can play YouTube videos (there is an app in the store). But I can't remember if it works on Bluetooth only. The downside is it seems to buffer the whole video before it starts, which took a while with my slow connection.

I still get notifications via wifi if my phone isnt in bluetooth range.
ok google seems to work half the time for me, but only on 2.4ghz networks. They have to be public (w/o a portal that makes you accept terms of use) or ones youve used on your phone (the watch gets the wifi password from your phone)

Okay I have both cloudsync enabled (on phone's Wear app) and wifi set to automatic but still nothing. No email notifications and I have the crossed-out cloud icon on my phone. Perhaps the wear server is not working for me?
Did you just enable those settings now? If so, it probably takes some time to transmit the new info and WiFi password via slow Bluetooth. Leave you watch connected via Bluetooth and try again later.
I haven't tried to observe and test myself, but I would imagine there is some lag with getting the notifications since the watch connects and disconnects from WiFi periodically to save battery, as opposed to staying on WiFi constantly

Additionally, when you turn wifi on automatic on the watch, stay on that screen until the wifi connects. Once it does, you can adjust the wifi sleep preferences from the advanced menu.

I really would like to see an accurate list of what the Zenwatch 2
is capable of doing if I were to disable bluetooth on my phone &
only use the wifi feature in the phone and the watch.
I know I will not be able to make or receive phone calls if I do that.
But what about all the other functions of the watch?
Will wifi stay enabled in the watch if the bluetooth on my phone is disabled?
-----
Also I still have not found a way to sync/pair my watch to my phone without having to "unpair" after flashing
or restoring a different rom in my phone and setting up all the wear apps, android wear app and all the other
apps and settings which needs to be setup in the phone. (even after I reboot the watch and the phone)
The only solution I found was to "unpair" (factory reset the watch)
and after doing that the phone pairs just fine with anderoid wear
and starts the very long syncing process.
There must be some way of pairing and syncing the watch to the
phone without having to "unpair" it and start from scratch.
Thanks!

The ADB commands don't work at all, and after much reading in that thread you
posted I finally found out why it's not working for me.
I have upgraded my zenwatch 2 to Marshmallow 6.0 a few weeks ago and I got another
small ota update a few days ago which upgraded the OS version from v1.4 to v1.5 ...
So I am back at square one.
I am not interested in using more than one phone (S7 Edge) with my watch.
The only thing I need is a way to pair and sync my watch without needing to do a
"unpair-device" each time I use twrp to restore a different nandroid backup of my
phone's custom rom or simply restore the same custom rom both of which has
already been fully paired and synced with the watch.

I think that apk I linked to addresses the issue in your original post. Install the apk on your phone and it will load the app on to your watch. Once you need to setup your watch with a new phone or ROM, open the reset wear client on your watch. Click the "reset gms" button (root required). This will reboot your watch. Now your watch is ready to be paired to a new ROM or device without a factory reset or re-syncing of apps. Open the reset wear client app on your watch and click make BT discoverable. Then click yes. Now you can open android wear app on your phone and click on your watch. It will say pairing complete and updating. At this point you will reboot both your phone and watch. Then they should both connect fine and function without having to reset or re-sync your watch apps

All of a sudden can't connect to any wifi

All of a sudden can't connect to ANY wifi. Sees them, says saved, but keeps trying but won't get past "saved." You can see the page of wifi options kind of blink like it's trying but nothing.
Have tried "forget", rebooting to safe mode, airplane mode, reboot after reboot, but the wifi indicator stays clear and says disconnected.
Hardware failure? Any ideas?

My next step would be to clear cache partition, then factory reset if that does not work.
How do you clear the cache partition?
Power down, then hold the power and volume down button simultaneously until the device boots. You'll arrive at a screen with an Android laying on it's back with it's belly open. Press the power and volume up simultaneously to display the recovery menu. Choose Wipe cache partition and respond Yes to the prompt.

hello i have the exactl same problem after the nougat update suddenly my nexus 9 cant connect to wifi however it can connect to other wifi networks and through my phone hotspot i have tried a factory reset without any luck please any suggestion ?
Hi, I have exactly the same problem after the upgrade to Android N, arrived by OTA
I have done everything, starting from the ROOT with Nexus ToolRoot from the PC, but any luck!
My dubt is that my tablet was rooted already and, like that, I couldn't upgrade It by OTA to the 6.1. It opened the Recovery page and stop.
With Android N it works, but I have this problem with the WiFi now.
My second dubt is that I can go in recovery only using NexusToolRoot, but if I try from the table it Shows me the robot and "No Command FounD"
Some can help us?

I hate to bring up an old thread but I just bought a Nexus 9 and it ran great. I installed an app that it must not have liked and it required me to do a factory reset. Now (during setup) it wont join my existing router. There is no skip button (which is completely ridiculous), but it does 'save' my password, and occasionally it says 'bad authentication'. I've tried rebooting routers, different routers, hot spots, clearing cache, etc. I've even tried various network settings within my router. Again, no luck. I've even successfully reflashed the OS using ADB sideload.
Current vers. is Nexus 9 32GB, Wi-Fi, 7.1.1 (N9F27M, Oct 2017).
Here's the kicker... once in a 'blue moon' it will connect to my router for a very brief moment. Long enough for it to attempt to contact Google servers. It then loses connection, as if it were shutting down it's own Wi-Fi connection internally. Sadly, a connection point is required to continue with setup which, again, is completely ridiculous...
I'm familiar with ADB and Fastboot. I've even tried Wugfresh's software with no luck. Is there any way of unlocking the tablet so I can try out different things? I'd be great if I could unlock the darn thing without having to go through the menus in the OS, but I have no access to them.
Anyone have any thoughts or experience something this strange? How did you fix it?

Thanks for the reply. Today, the tablets WiFi connected long enough to register it to my Google account so I could use it. I enabled developer tools in the 'settings' section and I also enabled 'OEM unlocking (allow the bootloader to be unlocked)' in the dev options.
I was extremely happy as it seemed to stay connected for quite some time. Then before you know it, the Wi-Fi shut down again and I get authentication error messages. Do you have a link for the latest factory image? I last flash was with the full OTA Image I found on Googles site (N9F27M, Oct 2017).
Should I flash again with a factory image instead because The OTA image doesn't give any type of 'skip Wi-Fi' button.
Thanks again!

Should I flash again with a factory image instead because The OTA image doesn't give any type of 'skip Wi-Fi' button.
Thanks again!

You can skip the setup wizard by tapping the 4 corners of the screen. Clockwise I think.

Just Google Nexus factory image. That has all the images for all the Nexus devices. Just make sure you get the one for the n9. They're ones for WiFi only and ones for lte devices. So get the one for your device.

Ok, I'll try again. It'll be my tenth time, lol.

Good to know. If I get locked out again, I'll give it a try.
Just to add to the description of the problem, the WiFi light doesn't come on at all. Only once in a while it does and that's when I get connection (naturally). I also looked at the WiFi menu and this is the error I see under my connection:
Home_Connection
Saved [(1)
{ec:08:6b:blah:blah:blah:60=2412,-62};]
Network_Selection_Disabled_Association_Rejection =4
Network_Selection_Disabled_Authentication_Failure=4
Anymore suggestions, I'm all ears.
Thanks again guys. Really appreciate it.
I have the same issue as well.
I have the same issue. Tried two custom ROMs - 6.0.1 and 7.1.1 Android versions - then went back to the stock OTA version but still I'm having issues with the WiFi. Every so often it will allow me to briefly connect but it won't stay on for long. I'm using a Nexus 9 WiFi device. I've also noticed that the settings app doesn't respond all that well basically - including the normal power off/ restart features. I have to hard reset it by holding down the power button for 5 seconds.
