I was having issues with the charging the phone (slow charge in AC) and connecting it to PC through original charger/data cable. So after changing the data cable (in warranty), it solved both of the problem. But now after 1-2 days, charging is okay but I can't connect the cell with PC at all. It just charges the phone but by showing the error 'device not recognized'. I tried multiple PC/laptop but in vain. Also when I connect my phone in to fastboot mode, it just flashes the device and gets disconnected. If I try to flash twrp via fastboot it shows me 'failed: too many links' error. I'm on latest OOS 3.1.2 rooted with Xposed.
So anybody can tell me what to do?
P.S. also tried changing ROMs but no help.

I have been running on Cooks I777UCMD8 rom for about 2 months now and have had multiple powering issues. Have tried all the basic trouble shooting, not sure if its the Rom causing the issues or the AJK noswap Kernel, but nothing has been tweaked, running as is. The booting issue is when connecting a USB cable while the phone is powered off, if you try to turn the phone on while the USB cable is still attached you get a POWER RESET OR UNKNOWN UPLOAD MODE error message, only way to avoid it is to remove the usb cable and hold power button then it powers up normally.
now the problem with the USB cable, and i feel these two are possibly related, my phone no longer recognizes when its attached to a computer usb hub, it charges, but dose not enter into mass storage mode, nor does the computer recognize that the phone is attached, i have tried on multiple computers with same results, and yes all drivers are downloaded on computers. Further information; Before this problem began accruing, I would get error messages after attaching the phone to a pc VIA usb cable saying ( ONE OF THE USB DEVICES ATTACHED TO THIS COMPUTER HAVE MALFUNCTIONED, AND WINDOWS DOES NOT RECOGNIZE IT ) also, after plugging in the usb cable and windows attempted to download the drivers this error also appeared ( DEVICE SOFTWARE WAS NOT SUCCESSFULLY INSTALLED, CONSULT WITH YOUR DEVICE MANUFACTURER FOR ASSISTANCE ) it later resolved itself for a short time ( couple days ) but now when i connect the phone, nothing happens... i'm hoping somebody has had similar USB problems after flashing a new rom and knows whats going on.
additional information:
- i have two Galaxy S2 phones both running cooks-i777ucmd8 rom and both phones have had the exact same issues.
- previous problems also include boot looping, and frozen lock screen upon powering up the phone. has not happen in a while.

I search all the topics, but couldn't find the same problem.
My xt910 can not recognize USB cable and couldn't connect to PC and couldn't recognize charger.
If I reboot the system, USB is working for a short time . In this short time period if I connect to PC it can stay connected forever.
Same problem is also happening at charging. when I plug the charger, nothing happens to the battery indicator. However battery percentage is increasing.
If I connect to PC in Fastboot mode, it says USB connected, no problem.
I tried the following actions but nothing is changed:
-try different cable, PC or charger.
-factory reset.
-flashing with RSD lite to 4.0.4
-OTA update from 4.0.4 to 4.1.2
-4.4.4 kitkat Liquidsmooth Rom with BMM(system 2).
I couldn't find the reason and I'm not sure whether it is SW problem or hardware problem.
Hi,
My phone just starts into fastboot after a failed setup. I'm trying to recover it but it isn't being detected by my pc. I've tried a lot of USB cables and it is not working.
Even without the properly drivers it should appear at Windows Device Manager, right?
It appears that it is a hardware problem. Before that I've been unable to connect it with my PC, and I've ordered a USB board replacement. I've aleady replaced it, but it is not working.
Thanks.
Try with a deep flash cable or disconnecting the battery and connecting it again
Hey guys,
I tried to root my SM-G930F and I probably have used the wrong ROM.
When I turn it on I got the following message:
"An error has occurred while updating the device software. Use the emergency recovery function in the smart switch PC software.".
Problem:
Phone will turn on just if it is connected to the charger/PC. (Otherwise the screen will be always dead black).**
**If connected to PC it will power off in 30 seconds or less.
OBS:
1. Phone NEVER turn off while connected to the CHARGER.
2. If connected to the PC it will turn off after 30 seconds, no matter if I'm in the message screen or in download mode.
Already:
3. Tried several cables (Including stock cable).
4. Tried to charge the phone.
5. Tried to remove SD card and SIM card.
6. Tried other USB ports and a USB Hub with external power source.
Any help would be great!
Thanks for reading and have a great day.
Did you tried to flash fast in odin stock image ? Did you tried with other charger ?
Hi,
maybe one of the experts can help...
I have a LEMAX2 with X820_20S_ROW_CUOCO92 ROM.
Since half a year or so the USB-Connection to the PC does not work anymore. Tried several cables and several PCs, no change.
I can boot the phone in RECOVRY Mode, but it It shuts itself off immediately.
I can enter fastboot mode, but the phone is still not recognized by the PC.
When I connect the phone via MyPhoneExplorerClient, WLAN works, but MyPhoneExplorerClient says 'USB-Cabel 'Not conneced.'
When I unplug and re-plug the USB-Cable, for a short time MyPhoneExplorerClient says 'USB-Cabel 'conneced', but no setting option for USB configuration can be found and after a second or so MyPhoneExplorerClient shows 'USB-Cabel Not conneced' again.
I tried to find out how to change or repair the firmware but all howtos require a USB Connection.
Mayby I accidentaly removed some system software responsible for the USB Connection?
Any idea?
