I formatted the micro SD card into internal storage (adopted storage) and whenever I flash some ROMs on it, I get bootlooped. Is there any way of solving it ?
Thanks in advance.
Explain again what was your system version when you did that. What do you want to install now, and what happen if you take the SD out.
I think it's not related to the SD.

You have to wipe data while flashing a new ROM, as your SD is now a part of Internal.

hey all,
i was about to wipe and flash a new rom but accidentally clicked the partition sd in cwm. i think the size of the partition was 128mb...
i flashed the rom anyways and its like nothing happened. i plugged the phone into the pc and only shows the internal memory and my external sd card.
any1 had experienced this b4?
a little worried so need some input from others.
cheers
By internal u mean the 11.50gb partition and by external you mean ur memory card? Ofcourse you can only see those two.. You can see the 1.9gb partition of your phone because it is where the application gets installed and it is not used as storage for media etc(if you know what i mean)..

from what i understand, the cwm 5.0 function "partition sd" means the 1.9gb partition. i think i partitioned that portion of the fone. anyway to reverse that? would a restore of backup clear that 128mb partition i made?
No, partition SD is the external one (micro sd)

I'm selling my Amaze, keeping external memory.
Where is the location for custom recovery - is it on internal or external card, or somewhere else - in the phone?
I want to wipe the internal memory, keeping temp external card, reboot into recover and install custom rom from external memory, then reboot and remove internal memory.
Will the above procedure work ?
your internal memory is basically an internal sd card, so formatting that will not affect your recovery or system etc. there's a partition set for system files. Your procedure will work, just flash a rom and format the internal sd before or after, it won't matter.

Thanks, wasn't entirely sure, as I'm about to do all of this in front of the buyer. I guess formatting internal SD card from recovery is the safest way, as I read doing it via PC renders the card useless.
Thanks mate!

Suddenly I get this error in the notification bar:
Damaged SD Card - SD card is damaged. Try reformatting it.
And the SD card is not mounted. It's the internal one, the USB storage one I guess.
My external SD card works fine and is being mounted.
This is a huge problems since a lot of apps doesn't work when there is no internal SD. Swiftkey can't find it's languange packs, Gallery and many other video/image apps also fail etc.
If I reboot to recovery and to install zip from sdcard, I can see both my internal and external sd card. So recovery seem to be able to mount the internal sd, but android itself does not.
Now, I could format it, but I would like to at least be able to back up before I do, which is a bit of a problem since can't take the card out and use in a card reader and I can't get android to mount and share it either, even though recovery is able to mount the card just fine.
1) Does anybody know why this has happened?
2) Does anybody know how I can backup the contents of the internal sd, even if I can't get android to mount it?
3) Does anybody know how I any other way of fixing this problem?
Thanks in advance!
Rom & Kernel plz? :silly:
Also, Not really sure about this but I have a far reminiscence of having read somewhere that you can actually access your folders through USB from CWM once they are mounted. Please someone confirm this because I may be speaking bull****; otherwise you could try to backup your data from your very same computer.

Flash latest Siyah kernel (if you're on ICS/JB) and then boot to CWM. In mounts&storage mount USB storage and connect pc and phone via usb.

Hi,
So I had this weird glitch yesterday where I lost everything in my SD card and in the internal Storage.
Is it possible to downlaod somewhere an image of the official internal storage content and structure?

If it's just the storage (as in sd and internal sd) it should be ok, if you can't save anything to the internal sd, then just formatting it should fix it.

I would have liked to be able to recover or restore what was there (2 day old phone) as I haven't sorted out yet all the Sony crap.
Not a big deal as everything else seem to be working
So i have this little question. If i install my sd card as internal storage can i then still flash custom roms? I was thinking maybe the sd card will think my phone is a different one if i install a custom rom?
Thanks
Good question.
I'm currently using my SD card as adopted storage in CM13 and TWRP is able to see files on the SD card just fine.
However, after flashing the ROM, I'm not sure if Android will pick up that the card is adopted storage and just pull in the apps, or if it will make you format the SD card. I would think that the latter would only apply after a wipe of /data, but hopefully someone can chime in with actual experience on the matter.
