Hello all, I've been trying to install custom recovery for a couple hours now and I'm not having much luck. First of all, I'm currently rooted on stock 5.0.1. At first I accidentally installed the wrong recovery with flashify and got the error, boot certification verify. I was however still able to boot up the phone normally and I can still do it. After that mishap, I followed multiple basic guides on installing TWRP but the error keeps coming back. I have tried the newest version TWRP 3.0 and I have also tried 2.8, no luck with either. Is there any way for me to install custom recovery without having to go back to stock again? I don't even think my stock recovery is available right now. Any help is much appreciated, thank you.
I know it's an older thread but it's pretty much the same issue I'm having and I'm looking for assistance so I don't mess it up. I am rooted (can't remember what method I used at the time) and have stock ls990Zv8. I first attempted to install latest version of TWRP through the official TWRP App and when booting into recovery received the boot certification verification error. Luckily, I backed up my original recovery and reflashed that through the TWRP app. Then I did some research and saw that I needed a bumpd version of TWRP, so I tried that, installed through adb commands and ran into the same issue. I've tried multiple times and multiple routes (adb, flashify, twrp app) just in case it didn't take but still having an issue. One thing to note in case it matters is my phone does not have the original screen anymore. I replaced the screen myself and it just has generic LG splash animation not the old sprint one. I've read up on different options (going back to original stock, flashing kdz files, reverting to zv6....etc) I'm really looking for advice on what the best route of action is here in case I missed an option that is incredibly easy and simple to fix. Thanks for any help in advance.
I have a write up at home over everything you might need which covers everything from using LGFlashTool to flashing a ROM after root/TWRP. I've used it a number of times including a phone I had just replaced the entire screen/front plate on. I'll post it here tonight after work.

Install ROMs
http://www.theandroidsoul.com/how-to-install-a-custom-rom-using-twrp-recovery/
1.Download and transfer the custom ROM you wish to flash to your device’s storage.
2.Boot your device into TWRP recovery.
3.Select “Wipe” from TWRP main menu and do a “Swipe to Factory Reset” on the bottom of screen
Note: This will factory reset your device. If your custom ROM doesn’t require a factory reset, then simply skip this step.
4.Go back to TWRP main menu, tap on “Install” and select the custom ROMs .zip file that you transferred to your device in Step 1.
5.After selecting the .zip file, do “Swipe to Confirm Flash” on the bottom of screen to begin the custom ROM installation process. This may take some time.
6.Once your ROM is successfully flashed, you’ll see “Wipe cache/dalvik” option, select it and then do “Swipe to wipe” on bottom of screen.
7.Once cache & dalvik wipe completes, hit the “Back” button on-screen and then select “Reboot System” button.

Hi all,
I think I broke my Galaxy S (I9000). I hope you can help me somehow. Here is the history of things I already did/tried
- my phone was working and had cyanogenmod 9.1 installed
- I wanted to give my phone a little speedup and wiped the cache and dalvik cache partition (did this before and it worked before)
- after this, phone was in a boot loop (even the battery loading animation rebooted over and over)
- the download mode still worked, but no recovery menu appeared!
- as given on cyanogenmod homepage in the install guide I flashed ClockworkMod Recovery using heimdall
- after that, recovery worked again
- I copied the cm9.1 zipfile on my phone to flash it, wiped the whole phone (factory reset), but flashing fails at some asserts (even though I disabled asserts) that seem to check that the target device really is a Galaxy S (I9000) (unfortunatly, I do not have a screenshot and cannot provide one now)
- I also had a ClockworkMod backup I tried to recover, but it fails at restoring /system (unfortunatly, I do not have a screenshot and cannot provide one now)
- so I thought, maybe I can use a regular firmware and flash it with Odin3 (1.87) to make things working at least a little
- started odin, selected firmware and started, but Odin3 got hung at some early point, so I closed Odin after ~10 minutes (see screenshot odin.jpg)
- when I now start my phone, only two symbols appear which kind of signal a problem with a connection to a (PC-)host which I have never seen before (see screenshot startscreen.jpg)
I tried a lot, but now I am out of ideas. Can you help?

Turn off phone, remove usb cable from pc if it's connected, remove battery, wait around 10 seconds, while battery is still not in the phone press the button combination for download mode. While u still holding the button combination for download mode, force reinsert the battery. Now phone should go into download mode automatically. Connect cable to pc and phone and flash stock Rom via Odin. Good luck
Worked! Great! Phone is back in download mode. Unfortunatly my work pc does not detect the Samsung composite device so I have to wait until I am back home. I hope Odin is working then. As given, it did not when I last tried.
Can you tell me what kind of mode this is, when those two symbols appear?
Robert
It's not any mode, it just an indication that earlier download mode flashing via Odin failed or interrupted by user.
U probably need to kill Kies process via Windows task manager before flashing with Odin because it's known to interrupt Odin, make it hung at setup connection.
Hi,
brought my phone into download mode again and this time odin flashed succesful. However, Kies was never installed on this computer so I have no idea why it worked now.
After flashing the phone rebooted, but stated several errors. They are similar to those which appear on reflashing with the cm91 zip via recovery mode ( "unable to mount ... (file exists)" ). I have made a screenshot and attached it. You have an idea how to help?
I have tried both the 512 and the 803 pit file, same results.
Thanks,
Robert
Tried to re reboot after those errors, but the S-Animation of the stock rom during boot never ended.
Robert
I took another stock firmware, JVI, which contains also a CSC and PDA image. Flashing worked, phone booted, Works!
I will see how to come back to my cm91, but a great step forward .
Thanks,
Robert
Made it back to cm91 . Thank you for your support.
Here are the steps ...
- applied I9000XWJVI.zip with 512 pit and repartition (2.3.3 based german stock firmware)
- applied I9000XWJW6_I9000DBTJW2_DBT (2.3.6 based german stock firmware)
- applied cf-root-xx_oxa_jw4-v4.4-cwm3rfs.zip as this clockworkmod recovery is able to disable verifications before appling a zip
- applied cm91 zipfile
- restored my backup

After trying to root my tablet with ZenFoneRoot, my Tablet went into Demo mode and I couldn't use it at all. I tried flashing with the classic ASUS method (putting the firmware on the SD and updating) but after the update completed, demo mode was still there. So I went into fastboot mode and did a "fastboot wipe system", realising after that I can flash everything except for the system/ directory, which was not a .img file (duh, silly me).
If I select recovery from DroidBoot, I get a message saying "Installing system update" followed by "Error" and that's it... no recovery menu, no nothing.
What should I do to recover my tablet?
Here are the contents of my update zip file from ASUS.
http ://i.imgur.com/LT5SDMj.png
After some research I flashed the WW_MeMo_Pad-11.2.3.17.3-2014100 droidboot (fastboot.img), boot and splashimage and now I can:
fastboot -w -i 0x0b05 flash update UL-K017-WW-11.2.3.21-user.zip
But I get the following error
E: unable to rename file /cache/update.zip: Cross-device link
Tried doing a
fastboot erase cache
without any luck...
Do you guys have any ideas?
Also tried creating a yaffs2 image using "mkyaffs2 system/" but I get a zlink: Invalid Arguments error
A few days later, I contacted Asus, explained the problem and they asked me to send my tablet somewhere out of town and I have to pay for the service (which I think will cost me 50% of the tablet's value). Well this didn't help at all.
I even tried writing a bash script that would fastboot flash system/path for every file in the system directory (yes, flashing ~1000 files took me 30 minutes). But the tablet won't start, even though the files are there and I wiped the system & cache partition before. I still don't understand how the recovery option works or why "wipe data" gives me an error. All I need is a valid system.img file, that's all.
From my research, I'm starting to think that the .zips are signed with SignAPK.
Sorry for asking this question, over and over again. I just want to share my progress with this, seeing that there are some posts without replys regarding this product and with the same problem).
What if I compile Android, copy the libs/ and etc/ directories and flash the resulting system.img (will try this tomorrow).
Thank you!

Same boat here
I tried rooting my ME70C/K01A with RootZenFone-1.4.5r.apk.
Unfortunately I tried it after the 4.4.2 update and now I seem to be stuck in some sort of demo mode. There's a blue icon in the notification bar and I occasionally get a pop-up dialog saying that demo mode has stopped.
I purchased it just this week so I'm thinking back to the store it goes. Maybe I'll just stay with my Motorola Xoom..
bob
Well what I did since the last time I posted was:
- I successfully created a system.img image (using the tools in ADK) that I can flash into my MeMo pad, but the tablet doesn't boot even tough it was a successful flash Anddddd... I'm stuck at this point. Any more ideas?
To remove the offline demo in the notification in ME70C

Hi I have the same issue, but I have no success with "Hold Back Key", when video is playing his entering after few seconds in full screen and back key from the screen dissapear. Please can you help me with that. Thanks!
Chk out this video .This will help out deactivation of demo mode http://youtu.be/vptHAKTvoyw ...
If still don't work ,better to factory reset and try the step from the beginning
I cannot get into Recovery Mode. I boot into Fastboot, select Recovery mode, unit reboots, see the ASUS logo and then it hangs and eventually goes to a blank screen. Almost like the recovery partition is empty.
I was trying to restore my tablet back to a fresh install so I ran (in fastboot mode):
fastboot erase system
fastboot erase userdata
fastboot erase cache
How can I get stock recovery back? All I can do it get into fastboot mode. Unit has no OS on it now since I wiped the system partition.
Hi, all
I was running kitkat on my tablet so I decided to flash with CM13 custom rom I used DP TOOLS to rooted my tablet after that I used Flashify to installed TWRP at that point everything were nice and happy, then I installed gapps-600-base-20151112-1-signed.zip, cm-13.0-20160604-NIGHTLY-v410.zip, BETA-SuperSU-v2.74-2-20160519174328.zip using TWRP at that point everything installed without any error, I rebooted the tablet and now its stuck to LG logo with "error boot certification verify" after pressing power and volume up button I was able to get in download mode, but DP tools doesn't recognized tablet using my PC so I'm wondering how to installed rom back again since I cant get TWRP to load and why am I get this "error boot certification verify" anyway. Any help will be very helpful. Thanks
i fixed it using these steps, Thanks
1. You will need the Stock Rooted ROM: [ROM][STOCK](V410 ONLY)KOT49I.V4101d | 4.4.2… | LG G Pad 10.1 | XDA Forums
2. Stock Recovery Image: https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resi...int=file,img
[OPTIONAL]
- I downloaded the USB Driver suite so I can make sure it all connects and works, this really is optional, but I would HIGHLY suggest it!
LG Software & Firmware | LG U.S.A
- I also download this nifty tool called DP Tools by danielpinto8zz6 over at XDA. This just made it a lot easier to reboot to recovery and all that fun stuff.
[Tool][Win] DP TOOLS - Manage your LG device | LG G Pad 10.1 | XDA Forums
[MANUAL RECOVERY]
If you do not want to install the drivers and DP Tools, you can reboot to recovery using the following method:
1. Power OFF your device and unplug from USB
2. Press Vol-Down + Power and HOLD until you see the LG Logo (will only take a couple seconds)
3. Let go of the POWER button ONLY
4. Keep holding the Vol-Down, then also press Power + Vol-Up (so you should now be holding ALL 3 BUTTONS)
5. Wait for recovery mode to start and you can let go of the buttons
[THE PROCESS]
1. Copy the ROM and Recovery Image to to SD Card or Internal Storage of your device
2. Reboot to Recovery
3. Wipe, Wipe, Wipe
4. Flash the Stock Rooted ROM
5. Reboot and set up your device far enough for you to get into the Play Store and download an App
6. Download Flashify: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...llner.flashify
7. Launch the app and flash your stock recovery
8. DO NOT REBOOT YET (however, if you do reboot, it's really not an issue)
9. Open the Super User app that is already installed
10. Go into Settings and then find the In-Root (Uninstall) option and you will get a warning that Root will be removed
11. Complete the instructions on the screen and you are now back to stock
[TROUBLESHOOTING]
- If SU will not uninstall and just hangs, restart the device and try again
- If the ROM starts acting strange, Factory Restore (this did not happen to me, but happened to a friends and reset fixed it all)
Please let me know if anyone has any questions!!
Thanks!

just flash ur stock rom
Hey,
So i wanted to install a custom rom on my archos platinum 50c since the archos stock image contains trojans and adware which can't be removed without further information (which I don't have).
I've rooted my 50c and tried out the tool FlashFire.
since the program told me I have to create a wipe action before flashing a new rom I deleted my previous action and created a
wipe
flash
action in this order.
I pressed flash and it told me, that the new Rom is installing, then it swiched over to wiping my phone (exactly the order I want to avoid).
The Phone rebooted, and I'm now stuck in the startup picture, with a frozen animation.
my PC can't connect to the phone (adb doen't work) and I can't load into recovery mode (pressing the key combination doesn't work at all)
Maybe not relevant: I can't turn on my phone to get into the (frozen) boot screen normally, I have to remove the battery, connect the 50c to the PC and then insert the battery again and then press the power button.
Has anyone experience with this/knows how to fix it?
Yeah I know the feeling.
NeedRom - Stock rom.
Use the Factory-Upgrade-Download software to open up the .pac file. Find "System" check the Location it is stored at (it'll be extracted into a temp directory). Grab the .img files.
Use Fastboot and Flash it .

Hello all,
First of all, as a disclaimer: I am a total noob in this area. I just got my Ulefone T1, and tried to root it by installing TWRP and then installing SuperSU using TWRP. When I first installed TWRP, it worked and I got into the TWRP recovery menu. However, as the phone had to be wiped, I couldn't install the SuperSU zip anymore. I did a normal reboot to transfer the SuperSU zip to my phone, but when I then tried to turn my phone off and access TWRP, it went to normal recovery mode of my phone. As I wanted to start fresh off again, I went to the settings of my phone and did a factory reset silly.
Now, it is stuck in a bootloop where I can literally do nothing. I cannot access factory mode or recovery mode, all it does is just endlessly boot and turn off. I have managed to turn it off completely, but that's all I can do. Also, the battery is not removable.
Does anyone with a little more knowledge have a suggestion for me? Thanks in advance!
As an update, I got a suggestion to fully drain the battery, but that does not work either. I have tried connecting it to my PC, which is not working, but that was acting weird before. I guess it's just not possible?
did you work this out ? i am stuck in bootloop too ??????

I have no idea what software is necessary to do it for your device but you can flash stock rom, if it uses sp tool or something then download stock rom, use sp tool to flash it. Should be OK after that. As I am not familiar with this device I can't give you any other advice other than flashing stock rom.
Any solutions to unbricking/boot looping?
Have anyone found any solutions to unbricking phone??
Mine also did bootlooping after unlocking bootloader.
I was able to flash successfully but screen fussy and unreadable and not able to touch. I am able to hear but lines are on screen.
I have same problem, please, anyone help, I think I used wrong twrp image
Ulefone T1 Bootloop solution 2019.
I was able to fix the bootloop of my ulefone t1, just flash it with sp flash tool by following this guide:
1. Download the Stock Firmware on your personal computer.
2. Install the USB MTK Drivers (skip if you have it already installed).
3. Download and Launch the Smart Phone Flash Tool (SP Flash Tool)
4. Click the Scatter-loading button to navigate to the stock Rom you just downloaded.
5. Select the Scatter File from the extracted Stock Firmware on your computer.
6. Select the Download Only in the SP flash tool option
7. Click the Download button to start the Formating process.
8. Connect your device via USB to the computer>> holding volume + and volume – button of your device at the same time or holding power button only so that the flashing process will starting working
9. Patiently wait for your device to be formatted.
10. After the formatting is done, a Big Green button will pop up on the SP Flash to show that.
11. Unplug your device and boot it up.
12. If you have a boot loop after booting your device, boot into recovery mode and do a factory reset.
13. Voila, you are all good.
Very important step 8 of the guide.
