Today, after really much try and error, I experienced that mtp mode does NOT WORK with my Anker USB cable. The other USB modes work but device manager will show code 10, cannot start device or something, when using the Anker cable.
Did anyone experience something similar and more important, can anyone recommend an USB cable that duly works?

Is it possible, on way or another to connect USB devices to the BA?
SDIO doesn't seem to be possible since the power is too low.
Any other possibilities, i would like to connect my USB 802.11g WiFi adapter to it (it has windows mobile drivers).
I also read somewhere about a Sync 'N' Charge cable, does that do anything?
Thanks
From device discription it looks that the the cable support USB host. but i m not sure How the BA get 4.5v to run the usb devices.
The cable has a power input.
will the normal charger is applicable to that input?? cause there is no power adaptor with the cable.
if the normal charger fits that port, i will definetely order that, just as a spare charger part, because i highlz doubt to get the ba as a usb host, and if it worked at all, then only with proper drivers and also probably just with power connected, i don't see a connection with any usb storage stick, but as mentioned before, i will give it a try, as soon as i know about shipping to germany.
Hey everyone. I've got a 16GB US WiFi Flyer on 2.3.4 that will not charge. I haven't made any modifications to it at all. It's completely stock. I've tried plugging in the included wall charger, USB cable, and even my own micro USB but it doesn't recognize any of them. The device is at 3% charge and I don't know how to fix the problem. Any suggestions are appreciated.
turn on usb debugging
settings->applications->development
Connect using the usb cable and post to output of the command 'dmesg'.
Unplug usb, plug in the charger for 10-15 seconds
Connect using the usb cable and post to output of the command 'dmesg' again.
With this information I should be able to tell you if it is a hardware or software problem. Hardware problem will be RMA, SW will probably be a reflash.
Flyer ran out of batteries before I could do anything. Either way, neither my pc nor the device recognized one another, and I'm certain it's not the cable. I called HTC and they are going to send me a box to get it repaired.
That's the best option in that case, sounds like a mechanical failure in the usb connector.
Hi,
Having just tried female to female usb connected to the oem usb cable by samsung, was hoping it will be able to connect and detect a flash or external drive but it did not.
So the question is this, since a usb is universal, would it be because of the oem cable or missing support from the kernel?
Even if power is supplied through, nothing was detected but power and it started to charge.

Good to see that, as it should be handled by the o/s...
USB Host mode?
Seen a youtube video introduced a special usb dongle as an accessory which turns the microusb port into usb host mode and it will allow keyboard and various other devices to be connected.
Seems like it is not a usb host port on its own.
You need a USB cable that supports OTG. You can get one for a few bucks from Amazon. The kernel already supports attaching all kinds of USB devices, so just make sure you have the right cable.
So I got 3 USB-C to USB 3.0 cables from Anker. After a lot of trying, I figured out that they would not work for transfering files to my PC with the MTP protocoll. The device would come up in Device Manager as Code 10: Could not start device or something like that.
After contacting the support, they send me 3 new ones but they have the same problem. So I assume that it is a problem with the cables because with the stock LG cable everything works.
Does anyone have had similar problems? Does anyone have a third party USB cable that works with MTP? Could it be a problem because it is USB 3.0 and not 3.1? Any hints?

On certain machines I had that happen when I used a usb 3.x cable on a 3.x port but worked when plugged to usb 2.0 port... meanwhile would work on usb 3.x port on my laptops. Did further testing and found that usb 2.x cables would work on usb 3.x ports on the machine that couldn't use usb 3.x cables on 3.x ports. One thought also was that the problem machine has lg bridge installed so could be issue with the lg drivers while its fine on the generic mtp drivers.
So as a test try using those cables on any usb 2.0 ports on your machine and if that works i guess that's a workaround.
I face the same problem. My cable is Anker PowerLine+ USB-C to USB-A 3.0 and MTP doesn't work when plugged on a 3.0 USB port.. PTP works but there is no diffrence and it's limited to functions.
I'm using Anker Powerlines, are you sure it's not a driver issue?
What drivers are you using? The ones from lg?
Try the ports in the back of your computer, i switched it and it worked for me
I had a similar problem, but there is a newer LG USB Driver (4.2.0).
I would suggest removing the older driver (probably 4.1.1) and then installing the 4.2.0 driver:

I am now using the G5 with this Anker PowerLine+ USB 3.0 Type C to A cable without any problem.

It say unknown device when i plug the device in
What i tried:
- Reinstall adb and lg driver, try 3 version of lg driver (4.5, 4.1, 4.4), pretty sure i work fine because i can connect with my G7
- Try plug in another port, and i notice if i plug it to my USB Root Hub (3.0), it not get recognized, but if i plug it to a Generic USB 2.0 Hub, nothing happened, it only charging (no error appear and no device appear) - I used usbtreeview to see it
- Tried with different cable, and i bought new 2.0 cable, but it still not work
- Tried buy a 2.0 USB Hub, but it get the same error as i say above, the device just charging, nothing happen, no sound of new device plug or anything appear in device manager
- Tried change the mode of usb config to MTP, PTP , then connect each mode with usb 2.0, usb 3.0 port, same problems
your V30's usb port might be going bad.
try and see if cleaning it with a wooden toothpick helps. Don't use anything metallic or conducting

I will try it! Also do you know why it throw error at when connect to usb 3.0 port of pc but nothing happen with usb 2.0 port ? (just charging),
also when try some cord, i notice that if i use my lg g7 cable and samsung cordand charge directly, it not even charge, but if i use that cord and plug to pc, it does charge ._. , and if i use my oneplus 8 cord, it work for both charge directly and plug to pc, which is really weird since all of them is usb 2.0 cord i think
