80? That is very intense. I would relock bootloader if its unlock take some new video and aks from sony.

It does heat like hell...
Some random times the temp goes to 45~50
But in a blink of a second the temp goes 75~80 like I opened something (app or whatever), but that happens even In safe mode o airplane mode...
And when the temp is as 45~50 I open the camera and bang, 75 celsius.
Just relock the bootloader using flashtool, it should "fake" relock it without the ta partition so it reports that it's not been unlocked and the only way to find out is to manually try and unlock it using adb which will then tell you it's already unlocked, I've done it before for warranty purposes and it worked a treat.
On a serious note though if your phone is running at 80c whether your gaming for a couple hours a day or not it's really not going to last you more than a couple of weeks, let alone months.
I'd relock and contact Sony

I just received my phone and noticed an odd screen issue after updating the firmware:
Notice the slight line around the screen. The odd part is that I do not see the line when I have a white screen, I also do not see it when I am in clockworkmod nor do I see the lines when the boot screen is loading.
Is my screen going out or what?
I had this problem with my first Atrix and I searched high and low with no workable solution. Some say it is a firmware issue. Honestly, there's no fix to my knowledge, without forking over some cash for a new digitizer. Only option is to get another one or another phone Lord willing. Apologies. Well, unless you can bear with it. It doesn't effect performance from what I saw, but it's annoying and no matter what I couldn't ignore it as if it wasn't there.lol

Well I can deal with it as I got a pretty good deal on the phone (off contract via ebay) but it is still very annoying. If I can deal with it till November, I am eligible for an upgrade from ATT (with some money of course).
I would definitely blame it on the firmware. If you are getting crazy lines all the way through you could probably blame it on the video. I see this all the time at my work. Try a hard reset, back up your data.

Thanks!! I will try to fully upgrade the firmware to 4.5.141 instead of stopping at 4.5.91.
How would you go about upgrading the firmware if you already unlocked the bootloader and rooted the device? If this is indeed a firmware issue, how would I go about this. I searched the forum and found a lot of conflicting answers. If you could provide me with a good link, I would appreciate it.
Thanks
I am thinking about following this in the morning when I have my phone fully charged and I was wondering if you see any issue with running this?
http://www.android-advice.com/2012/fix-bricked-motorola-atrix-after-ota-update/
My phone is not bricked but I want to revert to stock (locked bootloader, remove root, etc) to see if the issue is indeed a firmware issue. Then I can re-unlock the bootloader, enable root again and restore or reinstall CM9.
Thanks

You will not ever lock the bootloader once unlocked. All you can do is hide the unlocked text. It is a fuse that gets burned when unlocking the bootloader.

Can't help there. I'm done with crapblur. Staying on cm roms now. You could go with nottachrix, his rom is based off 2.3.6 and you can choose full blur or blur removed when installing.
Well I think I hardbricked my phone anyway --

Granted the battery did run out of juice but not until I finished upgrading the firmware:

I made sure not to flash lower than the original 4.5.91
Pretty much before I got a chance to install clockworkmod again, the battery died. When I went to restart the phone to go into SBF, I got the above message. I tried booting the phone without the battery in it and it says the "Failed to boot 1" (since I do not have a rom installed yet) but if I try to run fastboot, I get the battery is too low to flash.
I am not for sure if this is a hardbrick or if my battery is just dead but I have charged it for about an hour so far with the same message.
I ordered another battery before this incident so I should get another next week but I am so worried that I hardbricked my device and I will not be able to recover.
Frick!!!
I am so screwed...... I cannot get it turn on with just the battery in but I can disconnect the power cable and the screen stays at Failed to boot 1.
I am at a loss as I have read a ton of threads here on the "battery too low to flash" but none of them are same as my issue. I really do not know what I can do as I bought the phone on ebay for $200 and just received it yesterday.
Well now I have it plugged into my computer and the screen is off but now the green charging light is on again. The computer recognized it as a usb device called MOBOOT and the Motorola USB Networking driver miniport is showing up in Device Manager.
Any ideas?
I am using this method (post 2) DIY active micro-usb cable to battery posts (post #2 method) to charge the battery for a few hours:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1528729
Then I will will try to continue the OP's method to recover my device.
I cannot believe it, this method fixed my issue with "Battery is too low to flash"!!!
I am now in the process of flashing the firmware via RSD Lite.
I had an issue with the Bluetooth and wifi radios on my original atrix so I bought a used one. the used one had an issue similar to yours though not as severe.
I finally got around to replacing the actual LCD with the good one and problem is gone... I don't think it's firmware related, more than likely, hardware is the culprit.

Actually the screen is really not that bad as the camera I used shows the lines much more than they appear.
BTW how much did the lcd cost and where did you buy it from?

Bootloader unlocked? Rooted?
If it's a hardware issue send it to service center, the best method. But only if it's unrooted and bootloader locked and I can't promise if sony won't notice that the phone was rooted...

If its not the hardware, it can be the kernel problem. Do you see anything in your bootloader (vol down + power while phone is off)?

Remove and reinsert the battery then try to boot into bootloader and see If screen lights up. You might have fastboot turned on.

You could always try going back to stock. If you are s-on, bout the phone into fastboot, connect to pc, relock the bootloader and run the ruu.exe. You'll have to HTC unlock again. If you're s-off, just run the ruu. You'll keep s-off, but be completely stock otherwise.

i'm s-off but if the screen is black how do i put it in fastboot.?? with sdk.?? if so what commands do i need to run to do what you are saying i do have a copy of the original stock rom and i do want to stay s-off
If you don't have a light at all(even the "black" one), I suggest to take your phone to service because if that is kernel problem, you would have a bit of light. If that is not possible, open your phone and check if there are any irregularities. If you dropped your phone, cable could detach from motherboard. It is not hard to disassemble..you can find youtube video.

You can use adb. With the phone hooked up to the computer, at the command prompt, type adb reboot bootloader.

Unless he's made a habit of dropping his phone in the exact same way, I very much doubt that would help.
If it were a kernel issue your boot loader would have worked all the same (boot loader loads the kernel and is independent of it)
As it's not the screen itself and not a software problem it's probably either the GPU being fried or some other piece of electronics between it and the screen connector ( maybe even the connector itself). As far as I know the "fix" for this is replacing the motherboard or the entire phone. As you've opened the phone I'm going to assume you're not under warranty in which case either repair option is quite expensive... a new PCB is generally over 50% of the phone's value and will most often prevent you from ever unlocking the phone via htcdev;
So I managed to drop my mini pro on to the table from max 20cm. The phone won't even try to boot with only the battery, when plugged to the wall the phone starts to boot, but looks like it runs out of power quickly. It shuts of a few seconds after the sony logo has dissapeared. I can enter CWM, but again only for a few seconds. Any ideas what to do or try appreciated!

You "managed" to drop your phone???
Anyways, it definitely looks like a hardware problem to me so better flash stock firmware and relock bootloader (if unlocked) take it to Sony service centre. I hope it's not some major fault.

It slipped out of a window mount somehow. I imagine, it's quite difficult to flash a stock rom and lock bootloader if the phone won't stay on for long (pretty much a second or so of useful time in CWM) and my computer doesn't even understand that it's connected.

Take it to the service centre man. No other solution if it's a hardware failure can you get into fastboot? If yes, try to flash some other kernel and try to boot. if this fails, then just take it to Sony, no other solution

Then just take it to Sony service centre... Those guys will check for some loose connections...
It might be just a small circuit broken...
How will the service centre employees know that your phone is Rooted or not... If it isn't staying on...
And I suggest you to take your phone to some local but trusted serviceman (if you know any in your area) for a second advice...
Sony service centre charge too much money... And a second opinion is always good

Thanks for your advice, both of You. As magically a 20cm drop broke my phone it also suddenly came alive. So far everything seems to be working. Hopefully it just had a concussion or something like that. I of course got a mini heart attack. Now I'm only wondering if I should flash stock ROM and lock bootloader and still get it checked out.
Thanks again guys!

I tested the display with solid colors and detected a moderate screen bleeding. I'm okay with that and would like to keep the device (save time and it's better for the environment).
Can I believe Xiaomi that the issue won't get worse after some time?

The thing is that I want to unlock the device and if it gets worse they will say: f* you, you have an unlocked device (which is completely unrelated to this issue but a good excuse to decline warranty).
So I have to be sure before unlocking, that the lcd issue won't get worse.

Don't worry Poco support BL unlocking and rooting , so Ur warranty will be intact even after unlock and root
Screen bleed doesn't spread or get worse over time.
