In sending my phone back to gearbest as the screen has a dead spot. I need to back everything so I can restore when I get it back. I don't have a SD card so I need a free application to back everything up any suggestions?

I have got one which is 32gb but can't get the phone to recognise it and it factory reset fails on it too
I usualy use TitaniumBackup and create the backup first onto the device memory. Once it is created i move the whole backupfolder via WLAN to a sambashare with e.g. totalcommander in my LAN.
After flashing the device i move the backup back onto the device and write the backup back Not the fastest and easiest way, but i want my backup somewhere else than the phone which i'm flashing.

Hey guys, i have been writing and re writing different Rom to my phone for about a year now. But last night the worst thing that could happen happened. I did a backup of my external sd card and a titanium backup before writing the rc3 Rom final gingerbread clone to my phone. Well after writing it i decided i did not want it. So as any other time i just booted into recovery and looked for my nandriod backup and none of my backups were under restore. I realize now
that my backups including my titanium backups must have been on my actual phone and had been wiped. How can i avoid this problem in the future. I thought overtime i wiped my phone
and restored it, it was because i had my stuff on my sd card. I have a nandriod folder backed up from my external sd card but that seems to be worthless at this point. Any advice would help. Thanks, signed starting over.... Lol
you are correct in that all of your backups are originally stored in your phone memory (/sdcard) not your external sd card (sdcard/external_sd) unless you physically move them yourself or re-set the destination in each program. For example my nandroids are in (sdcard/clockworkmod/backup), TB in(sdcard/TitaniumBackup), and sms/mms in (sdcard/SMSBackupRestore
Usually flashing a new ROM will not wipe my internal or external sdcard. If anything it will wipe the INTERNAL sdcard not your external.
In any case backing up your backups is a good idea. Simply move them from their location to your PC. Voila! now you have all your backups stored on your PC.(aren't i smart) Now heres a little TOP SECRET tip..... ever since i started having mount to PC issues on random ROM/kernel combination's I keep a hidden nandroid backup in my external sdcard I always move my last nandroid there heres my path (sdcard/external_sd/backup/TOPSECRET/hiddenfile/poop/)... this makes it easy to pull your last nandroid just in case your internal does get wiped. Hope this helps
thank you for your reply...
Haven't seen this anywhere yet so here it goes:
Nandroid backups are great, when you still have your SD card. In several attempts to run MTD on my phone, my sd card would "appear" damaged or wouldn't mount, no matter the installation process or anything, and required my SD card be formatted, thus erasing my Nandroid backups. Back on TW again, I am saving my nandroids on my PC. If the time comes when I would need to do it, how would I go about restoring? I'm assuming it could be moving the file back on the sd card and "restore" would read it as a backup, but I want to be sure before even remotely attempting. Thanks in advance.
Yeah you can move them back and forth from the SD card and PC, that's what I did back when I used Nandroid backups.

thanks man. i like to know what will do what before i attempt it. i read through these forums quite a bit and have developed intuition, but i was not sure about this one at all.
Okay guys, so I was wondering, since I dropped my phone the other day and now the touchscreen doesn't work at all.
I took it to a store to get it repaired and they were unable to, so I believe vodafone will replace it for $229
But my phone does do a titanium backup every 2 days at 3am, so I'm going to wait for that to happen before I take it to vodafone.
Anyway, onto the point of this thread, is there anyway to backup the internal memory of the phone?
I have done a CWM backup, but I'm unsure if that backs up the internal sd card?
Could someone confirm whether it does or doesn't, and if not if there is any way to access the internal memory with out using the phone?
Badly in need of help..

a nandroid (CWM) backup includes the phones storage incl. the internal SD card if I am not wrong.
If you have some kind of USB wire, you could try to connect a USB mouse to your S3 to navigate without the touchscreen btw.

Yeah?
Awesome, some of my data is backed up then, just missing several important texts.. Definitely regret turning my phone on now.

well a nandroid should return your phone to the status which you had when you did it, that includes usually all data but I might be wrong with my statement for the SDcard based on the following thread or this one. Whereas I think the reference SDcard in those examples would more be equal to our "external SDcard" and not to our "internal SDcard" which is more like an internal storage, but I might be wrong.
Nandroid backup/restores don't touch the sdcard. They backup to the sdcard but the nandroid only handles /system, /data, /data/data, /cache, boot, and recovery.

The phone is in installation mode. ADB on linux can't detect it. I don't have access to a windows PC at the moment.
And I can't seem to turn the phone on..
Does anyone know much about the phones motherboard and circumventing the phones power button? Apparently there is some sort of issue there..
Or about accessing the phones storage without turning the phone on?
Hey guys, I realise that I may not be on the correct forum for this and for that i apologise, however I am quite new to this website and don't know my way around.
Anyway, I have recently backed up my whole phone storage to SD card using CWM recovery as there was no option to backup to an internal device. I wanted to take the backup and move it to my computer but I have a HTC One m7 which has no SD card. This isn't normally a problem for me because all the files seem to show up on the internal storage when i look on my computer anyway however despite searching through all of the folders, I simply cant find. The backup is 5gb in total and I know that it has been made sucessfully because my available storage has decreased by 5GB but it simply can't be found. Even when i look at the file manager on my phone I can't see it. Even if I can't move it to my PC I atleast want to be able to delete it, will factory resetting the device remove root access aswell as everything else and will I have to start all over again to delete this hefty 5GB backup?
Thanks for reading
Long story but its cooked. Do not have a spare sd card to put in, and still rooted. Want to make sure any personal info has been deleted. Is there a best way to do this. Tried copying nook update 1.4.3.zip but it wont download since no sd card, or copy from internet
Do you have ADB access?
Edit: mmm.........check out this procedure for the Nook Color. If you have CWM on your NT it might work the same way.

Can you still boot into custom recovery?
If so, you should be able to simply reformat or delete the system, data, and user-media partitions to remove any personal info.
U could look for the repart image file, burn that to sd card, and that will boot from the sd, repartition it and return it to stock 1.4.2, like new again.
there is more than one variant around, Ive used this one a lot

edit ... sorry I didnt catch at first u don't have an sd card....
sort of depends what recovery you had loaded I think as to what options you have

Just search for "repart.img nook tablet" on Google. The first result should show an "unbrick tool" that you can use. It's just an .img file that you can write to an sd via Win32 DiskImager. Boot your tablet by putting the SD in, then inserting a powered USB cable. When the green checkmark appears, you'll know that the process was successful. Just pop the SD out and you can forget about it. The Nook will even be repartitioned, with a lovable setup of 7.5 GB for media partition (personal data) and 5.5 GB for app data. You can get more details by visiting the website I directed you to.
