Dear all,
as described in this thread I tried to use dual sim + sim card at the same time.
It works well but unfortunately I cannot get the tray out as shown here.
Any suggestions about how to get the tray out other than taking the phone apart?

use something stronger to push the pin. i use small screwdriver to push it. it will not come out all the way. you must take it out with tweezers or something. works for me

Hi
I have read plenty on here about the problems people are getting trying to unlock an Orange Hero, so have decided to go down the rebelsim route.
I have ordered one with the hole punch, I couldn't find any specific help on their website about how you use it.
Does it come with instructions ?
If not can anyone help me on what I have to do to use it ?
What is the hole punch for ?
Can you use the same rebelsim for more than one simcard ?
Will the phone be the same as before when inserting a new sim with the rebelsim ie. all previous applications still there/messages/emails ?
Thanks for your help.

Mine didn't

There are instructions on there website on how to insert it into the phone.
What is the hole punch for ?
The punch puts a small hole in your sim card so the rebel sim fits neatly behind it, as the rebel sim has a very small chip on it. The hole does not effect the normal use of your sim if you choose to remove the rebel sim.
Can you use the same rebelsim for more than one simcard ?
As far as I know, if you change phones and wish to use the rebel sim you should be able to.

The rebel sim doesn't appear to change the phone in any way, just bypasses the network lock.
Hope this helped, I've been using mine for about one month now, had no problems at all.
Thanks for that.
Has anyone used a 3 sim card in their Orange Hero (unlocked either by code or rebelsim) ?

Mine is an Orange Hero that could not be unlocked by code, which is why I got the Rebel sim, I'm using a T-Mobile sim and that works fine.
I have bought the o2 pay as you go sim where you top up £15 a month and get free unlimited texts and internet.
Anyone know where I can get the info to change to settings on the phone to o2's ? I presume I have to change these manually ?
Thanks
I have checked the instructions on the rebel sim website but the pictures are not very clear.
Am I correct in thinking that there is a small part protruding on the rebel sim card and that you have to cut a hole on your network sim card so that the rebel sim can sit down correctly onto it ? I take it that it will be obvious where to cut the hole in my sim card ? also is it the blank end opposite to the chip ?
Thanks, just don't want to mess this up when I get the rebel sim.

Yes to all of that.
Fitted my rebel sim today and everything if working fine with an o2 sim card on my Orange locked hero.
I will give this 9.5 out of 10, I would have given it 10 out of 10 if the cutters they sent weren't pink.
Anyone know what the method is for bypassing the sim activation to play with the phone?
should just be able to press home.
Tried that . No luck.
Tapping in the middle of the screen while it was at the activation/Start screen worked on some phones. Try pressing in all four corners as well?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
Neither of those work either.
Try a factory reset from bootloader/recovery (doesn't require custom recovery)
In case anyone else is looking for how to do this... Use the tool provides to remove the pre-installed sim and boot up the phone. On the activation screen, it will now provide a skip button as there is no sim inserted.

I had to go into a Vzn store and have one of the sales guys put their SIM in. After that it worked.. no skipping it as far as I know. And of course I didn't read the whole thread...

I can confirm this works. Must have no sim inserted. If you put your carrier sim in it still tries to contact verizon.

I am guessing I am coming late to the game here but what firm wear were on when this worked. I am not able to get this to work . runniing on the lastest ota rooted s off
Big oh fat bump on this bad dog.
To bypass activation:
At first screen you will be asked to select your language, then press start.
At the next screen is says waiting for activation.
Press all four corners. Top left, top right, bottom right, bottom left.
You need to do it sorta quick, and make sure your not hitting the status bar.
I can confirm that this works on every AOSP / CM based ROM I have tried.
I have a cut down sim card that i use for my galaxy s3. The sim card holder accpeted the cut down sim and everything was fine. It would click out and in fine. Today after i flashed a new rom the mobile data kept dropping out. I thought it was my sim so i tried to click it out and it wouldnt come out. I seached ways to take it out online and finally used a thumb tack to slowly push it out in the little hole. Now the sim wont fit in the phone and everytime i shake my phone a ting sound comes from the sim card slot. I think it is broken. Where would i be able to fix it? Will warrenty cover that? thanks.

i believe warranty will not cover that considering...
1. you applied force in taking the sim card out..
2. it is not a factory defect
I recently purchased a locked 920 that has a sim card issue. I knowingly bought the phone broken since I was getting it for a good price (70$).
Either way, every time you put the phone in, it displays a message stating that the sim card is missing or invalid. Some forums told me to put a piece of tape under the sim card tray before putting in the sim card , but it didn't work unfortunately...
I need help on finding the part to replace my phone. I'll try opening it up later to see if one of the contacts are bent.

Without unlocking the phone it won't accept any unofficial sim card.

I know that. Unfortunately it doesn't prompt me with an option to enter the unlock code when I open the phone with the new sim card inside.

the pins in the sim card slot are likely broken. this is a common issue with this phone if someone used a sim card adapter inside of it.
Hi there,
I just bought a 1GB/8GB/2,100 TrueSmart, which will not detect any MicroSIM though it's been inserted the correct way as shown within the manual. It is mechanically accepted by the slot as mentioned with that soft click. All other positions won't lead to this proper position inside the slot. Though it's obviously seated correctly, the icon on the status bar won't lose its red x-mark. SIM settings are always greyed out, it seems to make no difference whether a SIM is inserted or not. Android is not able to recognize the SIM being inserted. BUT: The SIM works properly on my Xperia.
Software- and baseband-versions as shown on screenshots (png-files). What the hell is wrong with my TS? Without that SIM-functionality the TS has no more possibilities than that worthless Apple watch. I could only throw it away into the trash can...
Maybe anyone else had a similar issue with his TrueSmart? Is there any other solution than throwing it away?
