Open gapps mini stopped. Which gapps ?
Flashed without gapps to see and it booted successfully. Then I booted into recovery and flashed opengapps mini, it booted again and started to give play services stopped error.
Anyway, it's cm based, I'll try this with custom kernel.
Edit: I wanted to see if it included the gapps by default, as the file size is big enough to do so. Now I see that it's cm based, we should complete the instructions.

Okayyyyy, so I tried and it seem that we can't install Gapps, we need to install Google app installer from here

****Connect to WiFi
After installing all services go to Security app and give auto start permission to all Google Apps. Next, go to permission and give proper permission to each app.
Now reboot your device and enjoy. If you have face error in Google Play store just go to Setting->Apps. Then clear cache/data and reboot again.
Working fine here. Smooth and fast for now!

I'm on English (Canada) and I've had no problems whatsoever so far. The only thing I can't seem to find is the f.lux style red tinting for the screen, I'd like to turn it off.

My concern was the baseband. I'm new to G3 and rooted/recovery with the latest. Didn't known if I'd have an issue flashing a kitkat ROM.

I had no issue flashing on lollipop baseband.
Initial tests showed cellular, WiFi, and GPS all working. I don't have anything Bluetooth or NFC to pair with so I can't comment on those...however, auto brightness did not seem to work for me. YMMV..

Running this amazing ROM. So far so good! Issue I've run into since install is that video record with stock camera lead to force close.
Was able to get Mobile connection/data off MetroPCS/T-Mobile. Haven't tried out themes. Will post updates later on today battery life. Again thanks for the ROM!

I didn't have to do anything. It says unknown baseband but everything works fine. I did have to flash superSU from recovery to get root access.

So far really liking this! It's a little different getting used to, but the only issues I've noticed so far are the following:
- As someone stated previously, video recording in the stock camera app FC's, and auto brightness appears to not work
- My "weather" and "calendar" apps have no icons....they're just completely clear lol
- In settings > additional settings > buttons > custom key position, you can only see 2 out of the 3 keys at any point....making it difficult to reorder if you aren't careful
- In the play store, pretty much every app I download warns me that "this app is very large" and offers to proceed on wifi only. Even though I'm already connected to wifi and already have said yes on 10 other apps lol. This may not be a bug I'm not sure, but just thought I'd throw it out there.
- Finally, I'm sure it might not even be possible, but I already miss dt2s and dt2w lol.... Switching launchers I can at least get dt2s working
Other than that I'm very impressed with this so far, definitely hoping that this continues to get updated on a regular basis!! Thank you so much for your great work on this so far @Chevelle1768!!

I keep getting a notification that my Sim card can't be authorized followed by about 20 texts saying I have insufficient funds to send a message. Which is weird cuz I'm texting my girlfriend at the same time. All my phone info is right. I'm logged into my mi account. So I don't know.

INSTRUCTION: flash the twrp that @mobiusm give you with the rom, then flash the rom. If you want to flash anything else you have to flash an official twrp ( 3.1.x or older) then flash ( for example gapps or magisk).

I had similar problem, with first, and second install. Those were for testing, so I flashed different su packages, attempted magisk installation.
Currently only thing I have installed is open gapps pico.
It works for me for every day use, haven't had any problems with it, no restarts, or problems with waking phone up, no WiFi or mobile signal loss, or sudden restarts. Battery lasts up to 2 days.
Yeah the stability is good for the stage of this rom. The problem you said about magisk is because after the flash you need to install the apk. However this is impossible at the moment so i think that the root is only obtainable with the superuser flashable
That is why I gave up on su, couldn't make it work. Also every attempt caused instability, no matter which su package it was. And at the end I don't need it that much, just on a few occasions. Only every day use for it was updating hosts file with new blocklist.
Purple Screen + TWRP Version

Well, logs or it didn't happen.
I am using AB version for a Moto G6 Plus. I boot twrp, and then wipe data and flash the rom and try to reboot. It boots me back to fastboot or gives me another error asking me if I want to try again or do a factory reset.
EDIT: I forgot we need a modified boot.img for our device to be rooted. I restored stock boot.img and the GSI sticks on the boot animation screen.

Just got it to boot after talking to phhusson. Turns out the problem is that ro.build.fingerprint was too long (it takes a maximum of 91 characters.) When I changed it to a shorter, also valid build fingerprint (eg. the one from phhusson's AOSP GSI) then it boots correctly.
I got this error when it boots in google:
Device is not certified by Google.

...or op focuses on the rom and you install a compatible gcam by yourself, like everyone of us does.
was the non-working Magisk still 19.x release? wu just released magisk 20 and claims it is android 10 compatible, atleast in the release notes i read last night before updating to it. the "magisk doesn't work with this" warning might or might not be out of date. i suppose if i find the time this weekend i can guinea pig it, if it would make sense to, but if one of you gets fiesty and tries it, please share your results. thoughts? (before i go wasting hours )

Has anyone tried Magisk with the newest update from Oct 14 with Android 10 support?
Feedback From Using on My XT1806
I just tested this ROM. After a few spontaneous reboots, the OS settled down and was very stable and GPS connected quickly. My only issues are:
1. "Chrome Isn't Responding" - Chrome keeps freezing within a minute of use
2. The battery indicator on the status bar won't change to my preferred circle with percentage inside despite the settings being set
I've attached bug report and pics and look forward to trying the next release. Thanks for the great work!

Same as any ROM.
Do the necessary wipes and flash the ROM.
No wipes are needed between updates from Descendant itself, unless specified.
If you're having problem with SafetyNet, please, install Magisk along the following modules:
SafetyPatcher, Magisk Hide Props or similar modules.
But please, mind, we won't support any issue arising from Magisk nor relative modules.

I've tried this ROM for a few days, and so far everything is working.
And I have to say, that this is one of the most beautiful ROMs that i've tried.

Ah yes, that's normal, go to your internet settings, and add your APN
Search in google your ISP followed of "APN" and your country, set it up, and it should work.

Thanks so much now my mobile data is working
RJust installed and everything seems to work fine. Nice interface with useful things like double tap to lock, I love it, and the additional lock screen page is very useful. Looks very good
I'm still using this rom, it's great, it enters through the eyes and also works smoothly and without any errors that you have noticed. I just need the game mode and change the desktop font color to black. Big
miGoogle translate does what it wants but I hope it will be understood. In short I am tremendously grateful to the team of this rom.

The rom is awesome I use it for it for a week.
UI is one of the better side , smoothness... There is no need for AnTuTu ... You literally feel it..
I use two sim card ,and maybe Is that's my problem with battery..
I try everything but..
I will wait for next update and definitely come back.
