app to display charging speed? - LeEco Le Max 2 Questions & Answers

anyone knows an app where I can check the actual charging speed?

ampere

https://play.google.com/store/search?q=ampere&c=apps&hl=nl
you will find a lot of apps for that.

AccuBattery

I like 3C Battery Monitor, gives you nice graphics with charging current

It's good idea to buy external USB meter. I have got very good from Ali for about 6 USD. USB Safety Tester J7-t. It's better when dealing with Quick Charge mode.

Sony wall charger not performing as rated??

I felt that the stock Sony wall charger was not performing as rate 1500mah.
Z ultra has a 3050mah which means that the 1500mah charger will need like max 2.5hours to full charge the battery.
But mine need more tha
n that.
So i use an amperage meter to measure it and found that is just 900mah/1500mah.
I tried my S4 charger and is rated at 1300mah.
In this measurement i used the same Sony cable which is connected to my Z Ultra.
Did anyone here have this issue too??
I'm using the magnetic dock, and i'm getting everything between 800-1300mAh. It takes around 2 hours to fully charge it.

I am using an app called battery monitor widget and I am experiencing the same thing. Normally seems to charge between 800-900 at best I have seen 1100 but never close to 1500 or so.
I am planning on getting the "quick" charger to see if something is wrong with mine.
This is using the stock cable, if I use a different usb cable (thicker even, will not even get to 500).

Or maybe my charger is faulty???
Is only 3months old...
I think its normal because it is within the usual efficiency number I got about 800-1100mah with mine on battery network widget. With samsung 2.1 amp charger i got max 1500ma.

Sounds like Sony is controlling the charge input...
But slow charge is good for battery..
Especially non removable 1...

Charging current and speed....

I used the ampere app to see what was the charging current... I checked because the phone was too slow to charge after b140 update... The app showed the following results...
Max : 680mA
Min : 10mA
But the average was around 400mA.... Is it the actual average..?? It are you guys getting better??
Ps. I'm using the charger and cable that came in with the phone

I'm using QC 2.0 charger I had for my M9
I have seen Max : 1520mA and as low as 90mA
the average on my phone is around 1000mA
it's much lower using the data cable on the PC

Yes take a 2A Charger take a Qualcomm charger for example
Arobase40 said:
That depends on what you want and on the behavior of the Honor 5x if it is charging faster.
I don't know about Honor 5x and Qualcomm charger, but most devices when they are charging faster they also are discharging also faster.
I noticed this with a BT headset which was given for 8 hours playtime and when I did charge it on a "fast" plug (2.4 A), it was charging very fast but the playtime was much shorter by about half. So I had to limit it to a 2.1 A or 1 A plug to keep the 8 hours+ playtime...

I think I'll test it out to see of theres any difference.... if it doesn't discharge faster then the quick charger may be worth it ....

I have had great results with the Choe quick charge 2.0. The phone doesn't discharge any faster than normal.

Try this app to measure charging/discharging current: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.slash.electron&hl=en
Stock charger that came with the phone charges at around 900ma to 1200ma for me. Average is 1000ma. Stock charger is pretty beast. It would be really nice if someone found out how to enable quick charge 2.0 on our processor. See this thread, which is a damn good thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-5x/help/enable-quick-charge-2-0-t3374753
Also the Ampere app seems to be decently accurate.
I use a usb current meter to measure the charge rate rather than any apps. It doesn't draw full current when the screen is on. On the current meter it show the phone drawing around 1.86 amps from a 2.4 amp charger. Obviously a lot faster than the supplied charger. I don't understand why it wasn't bundled with a 2 amp charger.

dash charging in op2....!! Issues and things to be known and tested!!

Let me come to the point....!!
The oneplus 2 doesn't support the fast charging...
The reasons are:
1. Software update was not provided for it.
2. Hardware isn't capable for providing the fast charge
Things to be known:
1. The hardware support must be done with the CHARGER and the DATA CABLE not with mobile
2. The charger provides only 5v/2a output that is not sufficient for fast charging...
3. The DATA CABLE which Is provided by oneplus is USB 2.0 to type-c cable and its maximum data speed and power delivery is low compared to USB 3.0
4. Oneplus data cable uses the TYPE-C protocol 1.0 and data transfer speed will be slow compared to other cables
Things to be tested:
1. To try with other fast charger with other type-c cables other than oneplus cable
2. Kernel must be edited...
3. Use 3 party certified data cables which is USB 3.0 or 3.1 to TYPE-C cable for charging and data transfers as it boosts over 10gbps speed.
Conclusion:
Hence I request the developers and the people viewing this post to try out some test if they can.....!! I've posted this after researching over the net.. ain't posting for name sack
If you already ready know there hardware isn't there, then why bother testing

Apparently you have done an extensive research on the subject, can you post your sources? I mean the link from where your read all about?
Have you done yourself any of the suggested solutions?
I'm no developer but kernel solution might seem adding the correct charging driver... but driver and hardware must match then you must change the charging circuit for some with quick/dash charging.

Fast charge capable or not, I use my wife's Nexus 6p charger(cord and brick) and it's way faster than with the oneplus supplied charger.
So i used the OP3 charger on my OP2 and it seems to charge faster. Maybe is just psychological. So did some tests
Used Gsam battery monitor to see the charge current
Normal Samsung charger rated at 1.5A : current is 999 mA
OP3 charger : 1500mA
So the OP3 added about 5% in about 15 min
Worth trying. People have been discovering so many things on other phones which manufacturer claims not provided blablabla (could be for marketing stunts etc and preserve for next gen device) but was enabled through hacks by the community.
If there's time and interest, proceed in the name of science

That just mean op3 charger can deliver the max current for our device while Samsung's dont

I guess so, also means that there are better chargers than the stock OP2 charger available
I get between 1800 and 2100ma ma/hr from the stock cable and charging brick. This is measured with the 3c "battery monitor widget" as well as with a USB multimeter.
If I change the cable to an aftermarket one the charging I can get up to 1800ma/hr.
The charging brick makes little difference as long as it can push over 2 amps.
The phone seems to pull the highest amperage when it starts charging from less than 40% and is less than 30°C.

Well that puts the dash charging theory to rest. But nice to know that the first 30% happens at almost 1% charge per min

Quickcharge Issues

Anyone else having any problems with charging? My supplied QC 3.0 charger has developed issues - it usually charges OK, but if it has been recently used it seems to completely stop working for a while. I think that's a problem with the charger rather than the phone because when it stops working it also won't charge other devices. I also have a problem with an Aukey QC3.0 power bank that I recently bought. It charges my phone fine if I turn off fast charging in battery settings on the phone, but if fast charging is on it only charges while the screen is on. As soon as the screen goes off, it completely stops charging (and the lock screen comes back on).
Both the above problems have occurred regardless of which ROM I have installed.
Edit: power bank is actually working now, but that might be because phone battery is already over 90% so it is not trying to draw fast charge levels of current. Will have to try again when the battery is below 70%.
Hello. My phone is also fast charging only while screen is off but it's rather normal. The first issue I did not encounter. I have so far only supplied charger. Of course quick charging works more efficiently at lower levels of battery. I have a USB meter that shows max about 21 Watts approx 7.8 V x 2.8 A.

Oh, I missed this info. How do you recognize fast charging? I observed that it works a little bit differently while in TWRP, less aggressive.

Don't think there is any way to know what kind of charging it is doing on this phone (unlike my Zenfone 2, which tells you both on the status bar battery icon and with a verbose message on the lock screen). My problem with the power bank is that if fast charging is enabled in the phone settings, it won't charge at all once the screen goes off.
Just confirmed that with the phone battery at about 40% and fast charging enabled, the power bank is unable to charge the phone (stops a couple of seconds after the screen goes off). I tried charging my Zenfone 2 with it (QC 2.0 compatible) and it fast charges properly. This suggests there is some problem with my phone (or the Le Max2 generally?) rather than the power bank

Not seen it, but I'd hazard a guess that our phone is not on the list? Anyway, I think the included LeEco charger (mine at least) has issues, and given the fast charging incompatability with my Aukey power bank, I am thinking the QC 3.0 charging on the phone is not following standards correctly. My after-market QC 2.0 charger, however, works flawlessly with the phone - so if buying after-market chargers or power banks I guess it is safer to stick to QC 2.0 certified ones instead of 3.0, or alternatively just stick to regular slow charging.

Unfortunately, you are right, probably the phone only supports Quick charge 2.0, in web specifications I only found QC 2.0 support. But this don't explain this problem with stop charging when screen goes off
So, I have one Aukey charger compatible with 3.0 too, and I am waiting only my le max 2 arrive for test. In next 10 days I will back here and tell you what happened!

Did you guys ever suspect the cable?
My wife's S6Edge+ had suddenly started to charge very slow with the original charger and cable. After reading on the specific forum, few others were complaining of the same and as a result, she changed the cable with an older Sony cable which worked perfectly. No mater what, the original cable was charging the phone slow if not fast charge which was fast as before.

I have the problem with the power bank whether I use the cable that came with the phone or the cable that came with the power bank. Neither will charge the phone with quick charging enabled and the screen off.
The longer the cable, the less power will perform.. thats useally the case.
same with wire thickness in the cable, some of these extreme cheap cables on AliE got such crappy thinmetal-wires in the cable that it can not transfer all that power it should and will act like a bottleneck.
*the same with these intelligent powercables, that either cuts off when phone is filled, or show a sign like an light-diode in USB plug that are changing colors to tell that the battery is full. (close to all of such intelligent cables ewen some of the high qual-ones, are extrenely limited in power-drawing and most cant ewen manage 1.5amp in std 5v USB and most are under 1.0amp in the amount of power these cable can deliver, and often some plug-cirquit inside the cable there is limiting the amp quite a bit, and so the cable is able to sense when the battery if full and give signal.
Same with those cables where there is an ampmeter/voltmeter on the cable itself, those cables is also strugling to deliver more then +1amp.
that is all in regards tojust plain 5v and it just get ewen worse when trying to perfom quick-charge currents..
Not sure what cable your trying on, but if your going around the original, its good money to purchase an good plain QCvalid USBcable without features from an brand there is known for being able to deliver the power, the 18watt QC in theory can perform is quite a bit and need some metalwiring for the power to flow .
Not charging at all
Hi, I have a problem with charging my Lemax 2. I found similar issues described on other forums, even on youtube.
Long story short: it won't charge, LED blinks twice when on charger, then stops.. Tried different cgargers, cables- nothing works.
Any ideas?

Ampere rating on default stock charger for poco f1

Hello Friends,
My Charging cable gone bad, so I had to buy new, I have bought 3 Ampere cable, but I am not sure if it is actually 3 A.
When I am connecting it with the charger, it is showing at max 1490 mA.
Can anyone please confirm what is the charging speed they see in ampere app when they charge their phone with stock charger.
Max current should be greater than 2.4A. The best I have got is 2.7A with the stock charging cable.
To gain max charge speed your battery temp should be below 35°c.
