The FCC have just released an app that monitors mobile data speeds in the background and uploads results for them to analyse so that they can truly verify if operators are delivering what they advertise.
I'm on O2 in UK and even though it states I should get hsdpa in my area, I never get any higher than 3g, so I'm gonna use this in the hope it helps get something done around here. UK suffers terrible mobile data speeds unless you're in London really and I think this is a really important tool to get operators to meet their claims.
I hope lots of you will be willing to install and help with data collection.

And yes this is a big subject in the government in sweden because all these promises from the carriers has gone to far so the laws is about to be changed to support the customers

I have never seen this happen before on any of my customized devices.
my level of rage over this outside the stratosphere.
I'm fairly certain that they just committed a federal crime (non subsidized device, never was) by doing this.

It's been around for a while now. Found out about in Note 2 or Note 3 forums. Good idea to keep current with your reading so you are aware of the new BS the carriers and even apps are trying. Freeze the app - you can always use a browser to accomplish the same thing the app does.

Is that even possible ....I remember in my blackberry days I flashed bb os 5.0 from another carrier on my bb 8350! ..and phone functioned the same... Now remember the 8350i was an iden device... .... So should in theory work... But be for I start to attempt this I'm trying to do my research.... I thought I was a firmware issue

Ok so what about using cdma ws...or dfs qpst qxdm. Do any of those programs have the capability of band unlocking. That's what I'm trying to get at ...

I was wondering if someone with exp on modding apps found a way to unlock wifi calling on any network? I really like that feature but tmobile has horrible coverage where i live so i had to change carriers

Sorry but many of the best devs have been trying for years and no dice
I dont know much about programming apps etc but i know with the verizon bionic you could use sqlite to change aomething in the hotspot app so you could get free wireless tethering so i figured it be the same

It only uses data for GPS I believe, not sure if there is anything else it sends/receives from the network.
