What's this "firmware update": "32.2.A.4.3" - Xperia Z5 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Nothing yet in xperifirm, but i found this new from today in
http://developer.sonymobile.com/dow...-archives/open-source-archive-for-32-2-a-4-3/
It's a .tar.bz2 archive. we can flash or extract files from this to developers?

This is a kernel source package from marshmallow 6.0.
You can see this from the archive number. 32 is our Z5 series and 2 means it's marshmallow. 0 was internal, 1 was lollipop and 2 is marshamllow.

It is now live for "Telenor Mobil NO" on Z5 Compact (E5823)
https://xpericheck.com/device/E5823

I updated. I don't see anything new. Camera app, launcher, settings, nothing. Just the August 1 security patch.

First Firmware for Samsung Z3 available.

The first firmware for the Samsung Z3 is now available. Anyone had a play with it? It doesn't flash onto a TM1 dev device. I wonder why?
http://www.tizenexperts.com/2015/10...ware-now-available-to-download-z300hddu0aoj4/
Only theory because only research without device...
1.
TM1 device with reference Firmware from July interact only with THOR aka lthor as Download Tool...
How to identify what I have...
1.1
*#1234# should not show Versions info...
1.2
But su should be in bin folder so have ROOT access and could do funny dump action to check more...
SDB ROOT ON should work...
2.
Z3 or TM1 with Z3 Firmware...
2.1
*#1234# should show you Firmware Version
2.2
SDB ROOT ON maybe not work because NO Binary su in bin folder...
TM1 with Reference Firmware not work with ODIN because THOR is send as "handshake"...
Extract sboot.bin and search for text string:
Code:
ODIN
or
THOR
"Easiest" modification should be on Firmware package...
Code:
csc.img
dzImage
dzImage-recovery
modules.img
nvitem.bin
ramdisk-recovery.img
ramdisk.img
rootfs.img
[B][COLOR="Red"]sboot.bin
spl.img[/COLOR][/B]
SPRDCP.img
SPRDDSP.img
Remove sboot.bin and spl.img from package...
Then in theory device have second chance, if something is wrong, because old Bootloader are present and not overwritten...
For me 600 MB upload is tooooo much... sorry.
Please, if somebody try... then please copy and paste Odin log...
Thanx in advance.
TM1 user before stupid tests could dump eMMC before...(part of it).
Something like this:
Code:
sdb root on
sdb shell
dd if=/dev/mmcblk0 of=/sdcard/FULLdump.bin
Output looks like this... in theory... here taken from Z1 or RD-PQ... forgotten which one... but after 4000 MB stops:
Code:
sh-4.1# dd if=/dev/mmcblk0 of=/sdcard/FULLdump.bin
dd: writing to `/sdcard/FULLdump.bin': Die Datei ist zu gro+ƒ
8388608+0 records in
8388607+1 records out
4294967295 bytes (4,3 GB) copied, 444,287 s, 9,7 MB/s
You could dump less... but if your SD card is big enough...
In Z1 dump I can find text string ODIN after 35 MB... so sboot.bin is inside first 40 MB....
No idea if also in Z3 same location...
Will try to find PIT... all I can remember... TM1/Z3 has 1 partition more...
Best Regards

NO!
Different Hardware.
Different Bootloader, different partitions, filename convention, many huge differences.
If you have RD-PQ... you could update to 2.3.1 Binary with lthor...

No. This is ONLY compatible with the Z3 SM-Z300H.

I have RD-PQ since few days... with 2.2...
I will try to use my Notebooks this year to update to 2.3.1... and see self...
I have no idea... maybe you have chance to got SM-Z300F:
http://www.tizenexperts.com/2015/10/video-russian-samsung-z3-sm-z3000f-gets-reviewed/
I have no idea if RD-PQ will see 2.4 Firmware...
Sorry.
But I am 99,9 % sure SM-Z300H and TM1 Firmware are incompatible with RD-PQ.
If you unpack/extract Firmware package you shoud see why...
Z3 Firmwarepackages contains all Bootloaders accept PIT file...
Why Bootloaders should be ready for RD-PQ aka GT-I9300?
Or Kernel?
Why 1 Kernel supports more then 1 device?
RD-PQ is old...
2 years + older as Z3...
I9300 and/or RD-PQ Hardware is cool enough... :good:
...but why should commercial Developers like Samsung concentrate on old Hardware...
See, I love RD-PQ/I9300:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2482563
I wished support never ends... but this is an dream.
Little example from now.
TM1 devices have Firmware from July... with beta 2.4
On RTL you can see SM-ZTM1 called devices with september Firmware...
And since Z300 + Firmware is avaliable...
We know that minimum 2 compiled Firmware from October exists... and Tizen API is on Z3 2.4.0.1
I have no idea, if TM1 will get Firmwareupdate...
Best Regards
I'm not complaining Just sharing my observations Tizen 2.3.1
If Samsung issued a ready Tizen phone I expected new firmware is more stable and usable.
And I got that Z3 firmware is incompatible.

Maybe I will download Full BOL4 ... and try to find something...
Tizen Store Version changed ?
BOL2 is 1.4.1
In theory it would be much easier... to catch the TAR file... look inside...
Then you could see which files changed...
Example from Z1...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=59881027&postcount=120
Code:
delta.csc
delta.kernel
delta.modem
delta.ramdisk
delta.recovery
delta.rootfs
delta.ua
nvitem.bin
[B]sboot.bin[/B]
update.cfg
sboot.bin is for instance ever FULL Binary...
So for Z3 you can be sure... 1500 KB (50 %) from this FOTA (3,6 MB) update is Bootloader.
If someone could provide please the info...
I need only filename of Z3 FOTA Binary..
Something like
12345.bin
You could easily find this info in Logfile... after FOTA update...
Maybe someone could tell me please in private... PM...
I need not the full link... only Filename.
Than in advance.
I can not try self... no Z3...

Marshmallow 6.0.1 is rolling for M4 Aqua and M4 Aqua Dual

Marshmallow 6.0.1 has rolled out for M4 Aqua and M4 Aqua Dual today.
Any body received the update yet? Give us feedback.
Sony Mobile has begun to roll the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow firmware update for the Xperia M4 Aqua and M4 Aqua Dual. New build number 26.3.A.0.131 has currently been released across select regions for most of the Xperia M4 Aqua variants. We are hoping that Sony has included adoptable storage as part of the build, so once you have downloaded, please confirm either way in the comments below. We will include FTF firmware links below soon, in the meantime please also let us know your overall impressions.

Sony never promised anything regarding adoptable storage that I do know. I think you'll find the person/people on Sonys social media accounts read scripted cards and probably googled the features of mm they certainly don't know what the software department are or aren't including or when updates are released till they get the email telling them.
i recevied update m4 aqua dual but some bugs are there sound is very low and heating issue
I haven't received it yet (Spain), and I think I will never have Marshmallow unless I flash the firmware from another country. This will be my last Sony phone for sure.
Me neither, still on Lollipop (Bosnia and Herzegovina).

OTA Update Extract File Validation

Good Morning.
I would like to know how to identify if a file is actually the update OTA version that was made available and extracted from a Moto Z.
It turns out that I found a possible update file for Androd 7 of Moto Z but I'm afraid it's a fake file.

[Huawei Mediapad X1 7D-501L] new OTA from august 2017

New OTA has been released for 7D-501L:
http://hwmt.ru/hwmtsite/firmware-database/?firmware_model=7D-501L&firmware_page=0
7D-501LV100R001C151B002 (august 10th 2017) <incremental OTA>
7D-501LV100R002C100B105 (august 4th 2017) <full rom OTA>
7D-501LV100R001C199B006 (august 4th 2017) <incremental OTA>
7D-501LV100R002C100B105 (july 27th 2017) <incremental OTA>
WARNING I THINK THOSE UPDATES OFFER ONLY EMUI 2.3 (please confirm if you try them). SO LESS INTERESTING THAN EMUI 3 ROMS : TAIWAN B013 (with Limited languages) OR CHINESE B011 FOR 501L (with google to be installed on).
Of course all rom in this post are Kikat roms, lollipops roms for X1 are still betas and not bugs-free!
To install them, you have to be on a kitkat rom, and put the whole update.zip in a dload folder at the root of your external or internal SDcard. And then do a EMUI local update ('Settings', 'Updater', 'Menu' and 'Local update')
---
To download and install , you can also use Huawei Firmware Finder (Android app or Windows software)
for android, use the app + its proxy to receive an OTA, see https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLgw3d3fHTj5E33lNsLcCwcgoraZmfin7V and other tutorials videos on Youtube from several users.
The B105 is for Europe (CUST100), android 4.4.2, EMU 2.3 (??):
http://ministryofsolutions.com/2017/08/huawei-mediapad-x1-7d-501l-firmware-b105-emui-2-3-europe.html
Thank you
The BETA lollipop was buggy. It has been a long time since there has been an upgrade. Thanks will try it out.
It should be an update of European B103, but please confirm the EMUI 2. 3 feature. Thanks
Feedback
I've tried it. To make it work via the sd card i needed to copy the update.app from the modem directory out above. On the version i'm on B103 but after the upgrade it still says B103 but the kernel has changed. I downloaded the full OTA B105. Is this correct ?
Screen shot after the Full OTA B105 upgrade. Note only the kernel shows the 2017 update. Emui is 2.3 Build ware B103 and not B105.
Forgot to add that i was on version B103 before i upgraded to the B105. As there were a number of B105 links i chose the FullOTA on the remarks to use as the upgrade. Thanks.
I didn't succeed to upgrade to B105 from B103. There are a lot of files in update.zip and update.app is a only for the modem...

In fact, update from this database (this is a view from huawei database extracted by Firmwar finder develloper) are not installable via official dload method (as they are OTA to get to your device). Sorry about wrong inital information .
BUT, the 7D-501LV100R002C100B105 (august 4th 2017) <full rom OTA> this one only could be installed with official dload method, see here)
To install the others, don't try dload offical method. But please use:
Huawei Firmware Finder (Android app or Windows software)
for android, use the app + its proxy to receive an OTA, see https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLgw3d3fHTj5E33lNsLcCwcgoraZmfin7V and other tutorials videos on Youtube from several users.
or
Huawei updater (Windows software, to use with Hisuite), as it now work for any huawei device (use the update file name and url, as found on database )

For those .zip without update.app, you have put the whole update.zip in the dload folder. And then do a local update ('Settings', 'Updater', 'Menu' and 'Local update') . IT was the same when I installed my full european B103 (wich was a 135 Mb incremental update for B102)
see here (point 3) also !
I've just check, and ministry of solution's huawei link for B105 is the same as the one in firmawer finder database. So definitly not installable with dload/update.app (so the site is wrong, I did correct post #!)
BUT if put the whole update.zip in the dload folder + do a local update works('Settings', 'Updater', 'Menu' and 'Local update'), that would be a great news to install all update.zip found on the firmware finder database! All OTA links for the database giving a "update.zip" file should be installable with EMUI updater )! Please give it a try on your X1 Let me know!
On my side as manual update disapear from EMUI 4+, for X2 devices I'll have to use huawei firmware finder or huawei updater, or reinstall local updater in EMUI 4. I might give a try at local updater reinstallation, so that would be a ne way to use update.zip OTA found in firmawer finder database
Im going to give a try on huawei firmware finder or huawei updater, that I use on my X2...

If you start from B103, that should work for sure. But please try first "put the whole update.zip in the dload folder + do a EMUIlocal update" first. Thanks!!
NB: The method 2 solution of this thread seems quite interesting to manually install ota update!

A brief remember of best 501L rom for now according to me :
The B013 rom from Huawei taiwan will be perfect for your 501L if you don't mind english as a main system language (apps'language can be yours with morelocal 2/morelangs). If you do mind, install chinese B011, but you'll have to manually install google play and google sync services, and root too uninstall chinses bloatware.
Actually this is not swithcing from Android 4.4.2 to Android 5 that will boost your device (anyway android 5 roms are buggy on the X1!!), but switching from EMUI 2 to 2.3 to EMUI 3!!
** Best OFFICIAL 501L ROM (android 4.4.2, EMUI 3.0, 400 DPI):
- B013 (Taiwan): http://consumer.huawei.com/tw/support/products/downloads/detail/mediapad-x1-tw.htm?id=60006
Warning, few supported languages: Chineses & english. But if you root your device, you can add your language, for applications at least, with "MoreLangs" and/or "Morelocale 2", available in google play store
** Some other recent OFFICIAL 501L ROMs (android 4.4.2, EMUI 2.3, 400 DPI):
- B103 (Europe):
http://consumer.huawei.com/ch-fr/support/products/downloads/detail/mediapad-x1-ch-fr.htm?id=33626
or
http://uploaded.net/file/z4hblokv
- B017 Malaysia (B017):
http://consumer.huawei.com/my/tablets/support/downloads/detail/mediapad-x1-my.htm?id=42841
--------
But, for a more advanced ROM (possibilities of custom mods, lollipop betas), you can install a chinese rom devoted to 503L, but fully functionnable on 501L, without restricting the extra 501L's 4G bands:
** Last OFFICIAL ROM released (B011 (china) = Android 4.4.2, EMUI 3.0, 400 DPI framework with per app DPI setting)):
https://1drv.ms/f/s!AoChLp8DMXIsrlbMUNz1JI4lk1Xc
(this pack is ready ton install on 501L with no modifications)
option: ** you can also flash the HRT_KangVIP custom mod on your B011 if you want:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/hua...x1-503l-501u-emui3-0-b011-hrtkangvip-t3058112
** Last BETA ROM released (B113 (china) = Android 5.1.1, EMUI 3.1, 400 DPI framework with per app DPI setting):
Start from a device installed with above B011.

ALL ROMs in this post are multilanguage except where noted (put your SIM card inside device before first boot), and cover all bands handled by the device. So countries of origin, are here only for information, and are not a limitation of place for use.

understand. I sit on b110 (5.1) and everything suits (b113 brakes). I have so understood it rom for the Japanese market and perhaps it will be updated to 5 and will correct errors, though all the same.

Question Flashing .OEM files of Sony Xperia XZ2 in XQ-BC72

Hi, just wanted to know if we can flash those .OEM files from Sony Xperia XZ2 to Sony Xperia 1 iii XQ-BC72 model. Bootloader is locked and updated up Android 12.
Here in my country, Volte is supported on Sony Xperia XZ2 model for two major carriers.
Was hoping to flash the OEM files to enable volte on Sony Xperia 1 iii phone.
Can anyone confirm if this would work?. Newflasher might throw some signature issue or device mismatch. How can we handle this error?
Would you kindly advise where to get those .oem files? I would attempt this using my Xperia Z Premium; that had been provisioned by my network for VoLTE too.
Sony seems to put some apps, apks here:
