Hi,
i have to revert my note 3 pro to stock miui. I want to revert everything, including radio/Firmware and recovery.
In my understanding i have to:
- flash miui global dev via miflash in fastboot mode
- reunlock my bootloader (if i want)
Thats all? Does this work, even when i'm on Nougat cm firmware?
Thanks!
Sent from my Redmi Note 3 using XDA-Developers mobile app
you also can flash miui recovery rom from twrp, personally i am like miui.eu rom.
Thanks, but thats not an Option because my microphone does not work. It doesnt matter which Rom i try, even backups dont work. Thats why i want to revert everything.
I have read many threads and tutorials and i think i have to revert back to miui via fastboot edl mode. Maybe somebody could confirm this?

I think you don't understand what a "Custom recovery" actually means...
And by the way, LGDRM, KDZ Updater and fastboot can update firmware without an installed recovery

What are these procedures you are talking about? And are you saying that you were confused yet you still managed to flash cm7?
You should read the stuff in the links I posted. It doesn't get any simpler than that. If you are still confused after reading those links, I suggest you stop what you are doing and continue on with your life

You need a custom recovery to flash roms such as cm7. It is also used to make a backup of your phone and wipe the data on your phone. How is it that you've flash cm7 (which means that you've also used your recovery before) yet you don't know the purpose of having a recovery? I think you're going way to ahead of yourself.
Sent from my LG-P509 using xda premium
I'm guessing it's more of a case of he's flashed cm7, using the recovery to do so, but doesn't understand the behind-the-scenes procedures that go into the actual flashing.
you need to read the sticky thread if you dont know basics
Think of custom recovery as the basic setup/installer tool for anything and everything related to custom ROMs, kernels, etc. .
kdz and lgdrm are only for stock(OEM)/official releases.
The reason you need it, because it's the only way to do it and carrier's don't give you access to change your ROM. Does Microsoft put mod chips/software in xbox 360? No, hell no, they only give you limited access and regulate what content can be yours.
Custom recoveries come with features that you normally can't do, like nand(full phone backup) backup.
It's this way because that's how it has to be done.

Just because your phone is "rooted" dosent mean you can install a rom like a app, you need to use clockwork mod, why do you need it? you need it because it allows you to perform actions that you couldn't do on a stock phone. With clockwork mod you can back up your system files, restore system files, install new roms for use or testing. If your phone is just "rooted" all it means is you can now access system files, use certain "root required" apps, being rooted is step #1 to installing clockwork mod, its like your phone is unlocked, if you just want your phone rooted to delete some system apps thats fine, but it is wise to flash clockwork mod because it can prevent your phone from being bricked and now you can install roms. so the answer is pretty simple, how else would you install a rom without clockwordmod? you couldnt so its just one of those things you need, hope this helps man
reply
apart from all this custom roms come packed as zip files n kdz updater or lgdrm doesnt recognize these files so u need to hace custom recoveries like cmw or twrp or amonra

I don't think that you could do that... since the phone doesn't even come with CM7 in the first place. Doing a factory reset / restore wouldnt bring the phone to stock CM7. Correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't it bring the phone back to FroYo since that's what it came with?
CM7 is already a custom ROM so there is nothing stock about it... Stock means whatever the phone came with from the box (FroYo) CM7 is Gingerbread.

If your running cm7 or any rom you can do a factory/reset through the rom your using, it will just erase all info but wont delete the rom and it will delete apps so when you reboot you will have to set up Google account like a new phone, cm7 will still be installed and your current rom it will just be like new, to do a factory reset go to settings, security then hit factory reset, reboot and then back to a clean start on cm7 there will be a option to erase everything on the SD card, hit no if you want to keep all files on your SD or hit yes if you want it all gone, goodluck p.s the only way you can go back to stock is to flash a stock rom and if you made a backup of your stock rom before you flashed cm7

I recently rooted my HTC sensation and i have now achieved S-off and unlocked my phone.
The main problem is that now if my phone turns off to reboot it I need to go into the recovery and to the command Fastboot boot boot.img. i really need a solution to this because its really annoying to have to use my computer every time I need to reboot my phone especially because im using a CWM and i have a nightly CM rom currently installed
HELP PLEASE
Sounds like something is wrong with the kernel, try to do a full wipe and flash the ROM again

thankswill try that im going on holiday so i will do it when i get back hopefully my phone won't die
ive tried that now and its still not working, i also tried flashing a custom ROM and its still not working.
Maybe try to reflash your bootloader?

I've tried flashing the bootloader and the problems still occurring.
any other ideas?
I don't own a sensation so I don't know this is a common issue, but you can always try reverting to stock and restoring radio secure flags, this can tell you if its firmware/software or a hardware fault
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
is their possibly a link you could provide to help me with restoring radio secure flags or is that restored when reverting back to stock.
plz and thank you

Hi,
Try running a RUU.
Look HERE
Are you supercid?
hello I fixed the problem I didn't use the RUU however because I was really confused doing it.
the way In which I had done it was by factory resetting my phone and completely wiping the data and the cache so I didn't have any rom installed it was just the phone and the bootloader. then I went and re-installed the ROM I had chosen with the CWM recovery. although after I had installed the rom and the G-apps I wen and I opened a command prompt window and used the following instruction:
Fastboot Flash boot boot.img
after this I had rebooted my phone using the code:
Fastboot boot boot.img because I didn't know I had fixed the problem but I had to reset my phone and It just worked so thank you all so much for your help I really appreciate all the help and support given :good::victory:

The BEST way to do it is to flashtool zv4. Root and unlock it.
As for rooting zva-e, there are procedures linked in the thread. Unlocking the boot loader are there too, I believe. Doing it this way may cause issues. So I all depends how much work you want to go through.
Personally, just use ZV4, root/unlock. Then flash modem and whatever ROM you want.

And that's just stock? Straight from flashtool? That shouldn't happen unless you wiped something out trying to do the laf partition.
Are you sure you have the Sprint 990?.
There's other threads here, one is stickied in "General", that you might need to read then. They're about fixing other issues that might feel you.

I appriciate your help! Yes, the phone restores just fine using flashtool with the ZV4 .tot file, but once it reboots it wont make it past the LG logo bootup screen. One time it made it all the way into the OS, and went through the activation process, then powered itself off. Now it wont reboot past the second animated LG logo.

I should also mention that sometimes when restoring the .tot with Flash Tool, it powers itself off in the middle of it and just keeps booting into download mode. It always happens anywhere between 30-60% when it says SYSTEM in the progress log. Could it be that my phones internal memory that stores that information is bad?
I'm officially unlocked, today my sims weren't working and the phone was stuck on activate phone. Since without internet it wouldn't work, I somehow cleared config files and used command fast boot -w and now I don't get to see recovery, tried to flash each one through fast boot. But when I go to recovery, it just shows our phone with data cable unplugged and plugged according to data cable.
Anyone have any idea to correct this thing? Messing up with my mind from morning itself.

Try not to install the recovery. Just boot into it.
fatboot boot and the name of the image.
For example
fastboot boot twrp.img
And try with recovery from another source like twrp.me

Ok , try . Boot into fastboot check weather your bootloader is unlocked or not .
If unlocked .
Download stable or dev rom for mi website .
Make sure you have all the drivers installed.
Flash it using Miflash tool via the edl mode . It should fix all your issues . *Recovery, kernel, etc* : *It will lock the bootloader , unlock it again *
ps: you can go to edl mode from fastboot also . *Google it* .

Actually the problem was something else. I unlocked bootloader and flashed almost every mi rom through edl, nothing worked.
At last I locked bootloader with command and then unlocked it with miunlock, that did the trick.i got it working now.
Thanks bro.
Earlier it always showed bootloader unlocked. Somehow lp and mm bootloader are different that must have caused the issue.
