I recently bought my Sony xperia m4 aqua dual about 5 months ago ,and starting a week ago i woke up to discover it has no working network services. At first i thought that the local network had a problem so i did a restart while selecting GSM as the mobile network. To my surprise it booted up saying no network, emergency calls only.Changed the lines and inserted into another phone and they were working well.Later i went at the "about phone settings"and selected the sim status and i saw--
Here is what it says when i go to "Sim status"
Network: no service
Signal strength: 0
Mobile network type: unknown
Service state: out of service
Roaming: not roaming
Mobile network state: disconnected
My phone number: unknown
IMEI: ******************
IMEI SV: ***
Checked with the local network providers and their network was okay except that my phone had a problem and seem not to know what could have happened.I also inserted other sim cards but still the out of service or the emergency calls message came out for both of the sim cards.I later repaired my phone using Sony companion but nothing improved.I am now starting to doubt whether your phones just come out with defects because neither the service providers could fix my problem and here i am just left with a phone that now works as a WiFi receiver.:crying:

Hi Guys,
My friend has asked me for some help with his x10i.
He's purchased it from a market, and it was locked to T-mobile.
Its since been network unlocked by a local store, in theory to allow use of any network sim card.
However when you boot the phone with a sim card in, it comes up on the notification bar
"Phone Not Allowed MM#6"
It will show the little signal bar full.
Checking phone status it shows
Service state - In service
Mobile Network State Disconnected.
It appears to register onto a network, be that orange o2 ect.
But we are unable to make outbound calls, receive calls.
Yet browsing via gprs is working.
I have checked the IMEI with the T mobile. They advised that the phone is clean and not barred.
I have Tried different Sim cards i know are working.
I have Flashed the Firmware back to Stock, Tried the Latest Firm and a few other different combinations.
I am now Stuck.
Any suggestions?
Thank you
Hi guy's, have a UK SGS2. It's rooted and running Criskelo ICS rom. I've recently been in Brazil for 6 months, my phone worked fine over there. I've come back to the UK and got a standard Vodafone PAYG sim card. When I try and use it the phone says "not registered on network"
The sim card itself is fine as it works in my old mans SGS2.
I have wiped the phone and installed the standard software and it's still the same.
Anyone got any ideas what could be up?
The phone could be network locked (sim lock)
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
That's what the guy on Vodafone web chat suggested.
How and why would it get network blocked?
The phone was originally on the 3 network. I bought it 2nd hand about 1.5 years ago and it's been fine on T-mobile ever since.
If it is sim locked, is there a way to unlock it?
You can unlock with:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...sImV1LmNoYWluZmlyZS5zZ3Myc2ltdW5sb2NrY29kZSJd
It's free on google play.
I don't think it's sim locked, I can put any chip in it. It doesn't ask me for an unlock code.
I have run the sim unlock tool. The code it came up with is 00000000
When you go into the network settings, it shows all the service providers. every provider I click on says "can't register on the network"
I'm wondering if i've had some sort of network update in Brazil that's screwed it up?

I'm sure its something to do with being abroad as i've read about someone that had the same issue when they went from China to Denmark.
If I go to settings - phone it says...
Network - Unknown
Signal Strength - 103 dBm 5 asu
Mobile Network Type - HSDPA:9
Service State - Out of Service
Roaming - Not Roaming
Mobile Network State - Disconnected
My Phone Number - Unknown
IMEI - the correct number, I checked
The fault isn't with the sim card itself, I can use it in other phones and I can save a contact to it in this phone.
I'm wondering if some of those network settings I had from the Brazilian phone company's have messed something up.
Hello every one. I've got some problems here.
I bought a Sony Tablet S(SGPT113HK/S). You know, it has a 3G module. I have update it to 4.0.3 releas1a via WIFI. But when I insert my sim card then turn the power on. It do have network service for maxium 30sec. After that there is no mobile network service anymore. Of cource the sim card is for WCDMA/EDGE. I suspect there is service lock, but the tab didn't ask for pin to unlock. And during the 30sec I have mobile network I really can open a website.
Does anyone can help me.
PS.baseband is R3B01.
Hello all,
I have Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 pro and after a drop, I cannot get any cell signal to the phone, it states "No Service" on both sims.
Wifi and everything else is working without any problem. The phone can identify whether sim phone is inserted or not, it just seems that its impossible to enable radio. I tried to reboot phone, turn-on off airplane mode, reset to factory default but no change.
I opened the back lid and all connections are in place, no loose parts are visible. Removed the antenna part, re-seated it and still its not working.
Below you can see all details on the symptoms.
- Settings / About the phone / Status / SIM Status:
Netowrk: Unknown
Signal Strength :0
Cellular network type: Unknown
Service State: Radio off
Roaming :not roaming
Cellular Network state: Disconnected
- Settings / About the phone / Status /Status -> IMEI Information shows MEID, IMEI for both slots, but IMEI SV is 00 regardless the presence of sim card in the slots.
Settings / About the phone and pulse several times on internal memory I go to the Testing menu and then I can see:
- Phone information 1
- IMEI is populated ok
- Signal strength 0dBm, 99asu
- Location: LAC = unknown, CID=unknown
- DcRtInfo : mTime=9223372036854775807
mDCPowerState=2147483647
- Current network: off
- GSM service: Radio Off
- GPRS service: disconnected
- Network type: unknown
- There turn on radio, select the type of network do not work whatever I choose.
Do you know how I can repair this situation? Is there any other lower level tool that I can use to force enable the radio or to further debug the issue?
thank you

Hi, have you solved the issue? I have same issue, need solution!
Unfortunately not, I shipped the phone back to the store I bought it and they sent it to factory where they confirmed an issue with the motherboard that was caused by the drop. They asked for $125 to repair it - I dont think its worth it since you can find this new for as low as almost $150

Oh...
Yeah you're right. Many people are getting the same problem so i don't think everyone has dropped their phone and have motherboard problem. It's just Xiaomi wants to fix the phone by easy way and earn something.
Hi
I bought a second hand Sony Xperia M4 Aqua E2303 and I'm having trouble making and receiving calls. I'm hoping someone can shed some light on what may be the problem.
The phone recognises each of the different sims ive tried (showing the network name in the top info bar) but none of them are able to make calls, the call just times out and ends without any dial tones.
The signal strength is always very low for each network so I wondered if there was a hardware issue with the antenna. While searching for some information I ended up on the Service Menu > Sim Lock screen. As each of the sims I've tried have been recognised, I assumed the phone was unlocked. However, the SIM Lock screen details are confusing me. This is what is displayed -
[X] Network: 0
[X] Network Subset: 0
[X] Service provider: 0
[X] Corporate: 0
]X] SIM: 0
From what I've read so far, when an "X" is next to either Network or Service provider, along with a number, the phone is locked with a certain amount of tries left to unlock it with a network unlock code. If Network or Service provider is marked with an "X" and has a "0" after it, the phone is hardlocked to a network.
What is confusing me is that every sim I've tried in the phone has not asked for any network codes, so again I am assuming the phone is already unlocked to all networks, but why is every line of the above info marked with an "X" and a "0"? Every screenshot I've seen of the SIM lock screen only shows an "X" next to Network, but why does every line of my phone show an "X"?
Thanks for any info you can provide.
It could be that the phone u bought was a defective one. But I will try to do some more research into that issue as it a unique issue and I never experienced this.
Update:- It might be locked to a carrier of some sort or it just could be some antenna cable inside the smartphone just came plugged off or its just some software bug.
Also have you tried resetting your phone like wiping the data completely from your Xperia? If not try that or you have reset it but its still showing that issue, well I cant help much after because I have ran out of what could go wrong on your device.
