Dual-SIM Simultaneous 4G/3G Capable Phones...

Hi, just to share results of my research on dual-SIM, simultaneous 4G/3G capable phones.
Do note that there are confusing and ofttimes purposely misleading terms; there are differences between:
the use of FDD-LTE vs. TD-LTE (sometimes misleadingly referred to as "dual LTE")
the ability to switch the "primary SIM/slot" (which has LTE/4G+/4G/3.5G/3G capabilities) with the second/secondary slot without physically swapping the SIM cards (refer to misleading/misinformed information within the OneNote notebook as linked, from no less than one of Singapore's leading telcos)
the ability to simultaneously maintain a 4G/3G connection on both SIMs
Before we start seeing responses in this thread from people asking:
why would you need 2nd SIM to be on 3G at the same time?
simply because there are countries that:
will be shutting down their 2G networks (e.g. US, AU, SG)
have service providers that do not run 2G (i.e. GSM) networks at all (e.g. CA, JP, KR)
why would you need two data connections?
There is a difference between: data connections and voice connections over 3G; if your phone is currently on LTE/4G+/4G and both your handset or your service provider/current service cell tower is not VOLTE-capable, make a phone call and you will note the connection "drops" to 3G (voice).
(caveat: there may be some people that want dual/separate data paths for different apps, but I believe those to be in the minority and not the target/purpose of my research)
The "crop" of "current" generation dual-SIM capable phones in wide-spread markets from the "big guns" (e.g. LG G5, Samsung Galaxy S7 and A 2016-series) cover points #1 and #2, but fail on point #3.
Legend:
highlighted in green background: arguably best in class
highlighted in red background with white text: arguably worst in class (or does not meet the needs of this article; i.e. "4G + 2G only")
red text: warning/of detrimental note
"question marked": unsure/unchecked
For the bands and the countries, that is for my internal reference only, covering most of the countries of my concern; please use that as a guide; I will not entertain requests to add more countries (as it will be a herculean/endless task).
Do note the table is incomplete (those with question marks); particularly I stopped bothering about other aspects if I confirmed it was not simultaneous 4G/3G capable. If you know of any other simultaneous 4G/3G-capable phones, please let me know to add them, but please stick to "current" phones (i.e. announced/released from 2015 or preferably mid-2015 onwards) and please also provide at least two other "official" references confirming said capability (and please do not use two "sources" that circularly-reference each other or the same "source").
NOTE: I have not stated nor verified VOLTE, either on SIM #1 or switchable primary, which is another point of interest for me; if you have any information, please let me know as well.
Thanks!
P.S.: Whereas I have seen quite a few direct edits, corrections and contributions, someone (eventually) deleted the entire page. It has been restored but made read-only for now; please PM me and I will provide an editable link.
Meanwhile, until someone else finds a better way, or I find the 2+ hours needed to properly tabulate it (i.e. put it into an easier-to-read table), consider this version "stale" from herein.

Yes, as of current, my research shows exactly that. For the record, I have personally tested the S7/Edge, Z5 Premium Dual and G5, and now own two Mi 5 Pros... The Mi 5 Pros work beautifully, except for:
irritating CN bloatware (and Mi App Store stubbornly sticking to showing CN instead of EN despite language settings)
Xiaomi's framework overriding and interfering with standard Google framework (in the name of their "optimisation", which I have turned off with little detrimental effect overall)
stupid, self-serving "official" forum (en.miui.com; but that is a rant for another thread in another sub-forum)
I will leave my "user's review" for a separate post in a separate thread in the correct sub-forum another time...

I will try to clean it up and also update it... I will try to keep it updated as long as it remains relevant (i.e. when most leading phones are still claiming dual-SIM capabilities but remain 4G+2G only)...
To be added: the Xiaomi Mi Max and the "new" Sony X and XA series (which appears to be near launch here in SG)...

I suppose phones being released after the mi5 in China could all copy this 4g/3g capable tech.
We might see a number of choices later this year, Q3 or Q4.
There is no news with further release of a true dual 4G or 3G phone, probably too costly and a power drain.

Not sure if the Mi 5 counts as a "true" dual 4G/3G phone - that depends on your definition of "true". However, as mentioned above, I may confirm that the Chinese Mi 5 supports both SIMs to be on a LTE + 3G network.
I can confirm that the Sony Xperia Z3 Dual D6633 only supports 4G + 2G as I own this phone.
Sony Xperia X Performance supports 4G+3G, I can confirm this.
The OnePlus 3 has been confirmed by user reports to support 3G on the secondary SIM slot as well.

majority of the dual sim supports 4g and 3g in sim 1and 2, but does it support 4G in sim 1 and 3G in sim 2 simultaneous.
Yes, that is what I'm talking about. You can have the OnePlus 3's primary SIM card registered on a 4G or 3G network while the secondary SIM will still register on 3G simultaneously. Let's call this dual-3G capability.
Any Confirmation that the Mi Max supports 4G/3G like the mi5 does? Or is it like the Redmi note 3 pro 4G / 2G combo?
There's a discussion in another forum at hardwarezone, but I'm not yet allowed to post links.
What I can read out, the capability is requires both hardware, i.e. Qualcomm Snapdragon 820/823 Qualcomm Snapdragon 617/625/650/652, as well as software.
The following should according to the link above, support one sim card on 3g/4g (voice/data) and the other sim card (2g?)/3g (voice only) simultaneously.
Of course only counting the dual sim versions.
LeTV LeEco Le Max 2 (Qualcomm Snapdragon 820)
Oneplus Three (Qualcomm Snapdragon 820) - confirmed
Sony Xperia X Performance (Qualcomm Snapdragon 820)
Xiaomi Mi5 (Qualcomm Snapdragon 820) - confirmed
Xiaomi Mi Max (Qualcomm Snapdragon 650)
Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro (Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 Snapdragon) (un-officially - Need to un-lock and flash modifed rom)
Zenfone 3 (Qualcomm Snapdragon 625) link in hardwarezone thread
Zenfone 3 Ultra (Qualcom Snapdragon 652) link in hardwarezone thread
ZUK Z2 pro (Qualcomm Snapdragon 820)
In another link I can read confirmation at a conference of:
Moto G4 (Qualcomm Snapdragon 617)
Moto G4 Plus (Qualcomm Snapdragon 617)

Hi @kms108, thanks for the tip... I am in the midst of re-vamping the entire table and will add this in when done. I know XDA "kinda sucks" since we cannot add images without them being available somewhere else online, but I would appreciate it if you could send a screenshot or something, or another non-circular-referencing post for me to "back up" this claim before I add this...
Xperia X Performance is not 3G/Dual capable
This page on Sony's website http://support.sonymobile.com/global-en/xperiaxperformancedual/userguide/Selecting-mobile-networks/ list these valid configurations:
One LTE network and one GSM network
One WCDMA network and one GSM network
Two GSM networks
Obviously no good for those of us seeking to use in 3G only locations...

Thanks, but this is in conflict with what @kms108 a few posts before (and considering that is from an owner, I am inclined to believe that person, although I am still waiting for hard(er) proof). However, it may be true in your neck of the woods if the secondary radio does not support the LTE or 3G bands there. (is NZ any different from AU for radio bands?)

No worries... the link is from the global Sony support site so I don't think it's NZ specific - and as most of our phones are AU market devices anyway it shouldn't be related to band support... The fact that Sony has taken the trouble to publish this info suggests that it's likely to be accurate, however it wouldn't be the first time an OEM's support site has published misleading information.

It's not possible to post screen shots, there is no way to show any indication for the dual 3G or 4G+3G simultaneously on the same screen shot, you just have to take my word for it.
dual 4G(LTE) is not possible, if this is selected a pop put will state LTE is only selectable for one sim card socket only.

That being said.
As I don't have a 4G sim, I have set both sim in settings for WCDMA only and I can make or receiver calls from either sim, from a friend it has also been confirmed working in japan where 2G (GSM) doesn't exist, that sim 1 is used for calls and sim 2 used for data, at the same time the V10 was also used in Japan, where sim 1 is usable, and sim 2 does not receive any signal, as the V10 is only 4G or 3G+2G.
The phone is the Hong Kong Version XP (F8132), do note the Xperia X and Xperia XA (Ultra) does not support this feature.
Update, I also think the Samsung Note 7 also supports the same feature, but can't confirm exactly if this is correct.

Palm phone firmware?

Hi all,
I tried searching xda forums but didn't find a place to ask the question. I have Verizon Palm phone 2018 model, but since Palm released this phone as standalone and sells on their website. I wanted to find out if anyone knows where or when can I find a firmware for the device, as I want to debrand it.
Any info about this? Really want to flash my Verizon branded Palm 2018 to an unlocked firmware
There seems to be very little discussion on the Palm Phone PVG100 here on XDA. We should start to see a lot more people on here looking to customize it, since it's a bargain (1/4 retail) as a refurb on eBay. I just picked one up and am curious if anyone has unlocked the bootloader, loaded TWRP, and rooted this thing.
I too am looking for a rom for this. I picked one of these up from verizon, and have been using it on tmobile with no problem, but want to get rid of the Verizon apps and branding.
Also, there seems to be MUCH room for improvement on battery life if the ROM is cleaned up.
It's a really nifty little device, just needs some TLC.
I was able to get to the bootloader via typical ADB commands, but can't locate any kind of ROM dump for these. I'm really surprised there isn't more discussion about these little buggers.
Palm PVG100
Hi everyone
I'm trying to modify my Palm too and it's curious to see that no information nor material is available online anywhere
I've started a new thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help/palm-pvg100-pepito-development-t3971141
I was able to do something, but I still need help with what i say in my thread.
Basically I would like to take a full backup image of the device before starting tinkering with it, but I can't figure out how to make QPST software (Qualcomm Product Support Tool) show the content of the eMMC memory...
Anyone's help or collaboration for this project would be appreciated a lot!
Thanks!
We're you actually in the bootloader or recovery? I haven't been able to get into bootloader on mine. Any success unlocking bootloader?

Are you sure you want to use QPST. I have used it before to unlock LTE bands on a watch, but not for anything with the images / backups. I think the progression is unlocked bootloader, twrp compiled and loaded, then root. I also haven't seen the Pepito source code anywhere. Without that I'm not sure you will get far. I think the biggest hurdle right now is unlocking bootloader.
I've tried many root tools, nothing works.

If you do boot into recovery, do not run Emergency Download Mode. You'll have to let the battery slowly die before you can do anything with your device.
Clarifications
Ok, thank you for your comments, guys, I really appreciate it.
Please feel free to correct me at any time, because I might make mistakes.
Just to make things clear:
I don't know exactly what you mean by "getting into the bootloader"; what I can tell you is that I was able to get into recovery and that in Settings->System->Developer Options (I'm sure you know that they are unlocked by tapping many times on the buid number), the Palm PVG100 (Pepito) has a switch that says "OEM Unlocking (Allow the boot loader to be unlocked)"; can you please comment on this?
It's not mandatory to use QPST, any solution is good for me (by the way, ONE OF THE PURPOSES FOR WHICH I WANT TO HACK INTO THE PHONE IS TO UNLOCK ITALIAN BANDS LIKE YOU!), but, as you say, no ROM exists on the web, so we have to find a way to extract the phone ROM and to decompile it (do you agree?).
TWRP doesn't exist for this phone, but, to compile it we need to extract protected files from the phone, right? (Please let me know if you know of a method to compile it without root access, nor ROM files)
In my opinion FIRST STEP IS TO HAVE A BACKUP IN CASE OF A BRICK, BEFORE STARTING TINKERING WITH RECOVERY, BOOTLOADER, PARTITIONS, ROM, FLASHERS AND ROOTING! (No?)
About EDL mode the problem is non-existent, I found out that, while in EDL mode, the Pepito can be restarted 100% of the time keeping the power button pressed for 2 minutes (120 seconds) (you can use a tight rubber band for this or any other trick), please test it
I've just had an idea, which requires strong reverse engineering skills. I have 2 Pepito phones; the first one has the most recent version of the software (1AGN), while the second one has the PREVIOUS ONE (1AGL) (see following link: https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/knowledge-base-221025/ )
This update must be doing something at an elevated privilege level. What if one sniffs what tnis update is doing when I force the update or reverse engineers the package obtained from the mother company as soon as it gets downloaded? Might it have information on how to sign software to make stock recovery ADB sideload fuction accept them? Or maybe provide us with information on how to enable write operation on protected partitions?
Ok. I can answer some of your questions here.
1. You haven't been in the bootloader, I'm not sure if there is one.
2. The OEM unlock bootloader in Dev options doesn't do anything but allow your phone to function (from that image) if you do unlock it. It's a security thing.
3. You unlock bootloader using fastboot commands, but Verizon is known for really locking down the bootloader.
4. I also have 2 phones on the different os versions as you have for a similar reason. I was hoping the root tools (kingroot, kingoroot, etc..) would be able to root one of them. Not the case. Both are solid from the standpoint of using standard root tools. I haven't seen many of them succeed after Android 7.1 anyhow.
5. Are you sure your bands are not already unlocked? Even if you get QPST to unlock the bands, it may not contain any data. So you will need to find another device with those bands unlocked to copy the data from (and that still may not work well). At this point I stopped my unlocking of bands project, as I'd didn't want to make a mistake and cook my brain. There has been very little success with band unlocking unless those bands already contained the data to function. Be careful with QPST.
6. I'm not a developer, so I can't really help with anything you are looking to do, but this is an amazing device and deserves the attention it needs to be rooted for at the very least better power management. Maybe underclocking.

Well, you say "I'm not sure there is a bootloader", but bootloader is a mandatory piece of the boot chain followed by any device or computer able to boot operating systems, so every device has one; the device might not have a fastboot interface implemented, which is different...but yet annoying...
Standard root tools don't work, I agree, that's why we are looking for developer or board tinkerers help here
I'm 100% sure those bands are not unlocked, because my Italia Samsung Galaxy S5 sees LTE connection, while the Palm doesn't. Also see Palm specs here:

It states:

It states:

I also contacted Palm support for the bands, requesting to unlock them in the firmware and they told me "Support for those bands is a hardware limitation, rather than something we can control in firmware. Unfortunately, those phones can't be made compatible with some 4G networks."...BUT DO YOU BELIEVE THEM?...
So, yes, I do have another device with those bands unlocked if needed.
With QPST there's no need to be careful until I find a way to make it communicate in read/write with the Palm :laugh: (just kidding)
Maybe if someone has opened a Palm phone and seen the internal board and knows how to perform electronic tampering, he can tell us what hardware components are involved in LTE communication (I think its embedded in the CPU...Qualcomm MSM8940 Snapdragon 435 (28 nm)...see the following link: http://phonedb.net/index.php?m=processor&id=658&c=qualcomm_snapdragon_435_msm8940&d=detailed_specs ...it states:

So I don't see why it doesn't support Italian bands, it makes no sense to me.
An electronic board tinkerer would help us a lot, possibly shorting some JTAG pins inside, maybe to disable read/write protection and, maybe, enable Emergency Download Mode with COM port in 9006 mode or some Diagnostic modes (not the 9008 mode, which was the only one I was able to achieve!)
)
In this forum where do you ask if you want to ask someone to help you connecting remotely to your phone to do live operations on it, using remote COM port software or remote control software (like TeamViewer) or if you need someone able to tinker with board circuitry?
I'm cooking my brain too and I would like to perform the operations you need too for battery life improvement and for my personal cullture, to possibly become of some help for this community, if someone teaches me these things..
Internal images and more details are in the FCC docs here

Cellular Communication:

So I don't see why it doesn't support Italian bands, it makes no sense to me.
An electronic board tinkerer would help us a lot, possibly shorting some JTAG pins inside, maybe to disable read/write protection and, maybe, enable Emergency Download Mode with COM port in 9006 mode or some Diagnostic modes (not the 9008 mode, which was the only one I was able to achieve!)
)

Wow, thanks, interesting documentation!
Excuse me, looking at the FCC documentation, is there a way to find out if the phone hardware supports Italian LTE bands or not? Please explain exactly what information to look at for understanding this.
Thanks!
This signed at the bottom of the fcc page:
This device contains GSM/WCDMA/LTE functions that are not operational in U.S. Territories. This filing is only applicable for 700 MHz MBS, 850 MHz Cell, 1700 MHz AWS and 1900 MHz PCS operations

That is even if it has other bands (and it does have them), they weren't tested by FCC.

So Palm probably told me a lie and the hardware supports other bands
There is one additional thing for which I wanted to gain access to the ROM, to root and to custom ROMs and recoveries. Maybe you can help me with this.
I wrote to Palm company, asking:
Good morning
My Palm PVG100 receives Whatsapp messages only when I tap on the Whatsapp icon to open the application, but it's of utmost importance for my job to receive notifications when the phone is locked and to hear the corresponding sound, like it happens with SMS.
How can I achieve this?
Please tell me all steps in detail
Thank you very much in advance!
Francesco
They gave me a list of useless suggestions:
If you are a WhatsApp user and would like to sync your WhatsApp messages between your Palm and another device, you can use WhatsApp Web on one of your devices. WhatsApp allows an account to be signed into the mobile app on one device and another device on WhatsApp Web simultaneously. To setup WhatsApp Web, visit web.whatsapp.com to get started.

Hi Francisco,
I'm sorry for my unclear response. Are you using WhatsApp on another mobile device, in addition to your Palm?
Have you tried whitelisting the app in the Life Mode advanced menu? Try this out: https://palmsupport.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360021806871-I-am-having-issues-with-notifications
Then I sent them various screenshots showing the settings under which the problem still occurs; I attach a zip file with all the screenshots to this message, can you please have a look at it and help me with your experience, since Palm is not responding?
The behavior is like Whatsapp service gets killed from the background or notifications are held, because notifications come in if they come some seconds after I lock the screen, but if I wait, nothing comes in
When lifemode is on and screen is off, my assumption is everything is off. If you read the 'whitelisting' in lifemode only allows notifications to work in those apps when the screen is on.

the snapdragon chip will always have all the bands! The only limitation for enabling a disabled band I've seen is 'lack of antennas' no clue exactly what that means, I guess there can be different antenna lengths for different bands. Also as I've seen the lack of data for the bands to operate in qpst
Did you manage to access band data of the Palm in QPST?!
No, I haven't used QPST with the palm. you should try it.

we have two hardware Palm version PVG100 and PVG100E/PVG100EU

Question Any Chance to get 5g in un-supporting countries?

Hi All,
It's been a...while since my account registration on XDA. I was a huge WM user since then. I'm checking to see if there is any chances or any masters are modifying magisk for enabling 5G in un-supporting countries. I've been looking around seems no one is testing it. Just asking and following. Thank you.
Regards,
John
As far as i know there is no way to enable 5G in unsupported countries for now. For previous 5G pixels it was a matter of modifying some xml files but these used qualcomm chipsets and modem and here we have samsung modem so maybe it is not so easy. My advice is to do following things to try to force google to enable 5G:
1. Give feedback via the phone.
2. Reply in and upvote the threads with this issue in pixel community.
3. If you are within EU try to write to some EU institutions to explain them that google selectively unlocks 5G only for certain countries within EU which is discrimination as EU is one market.
I hope that this will have effect at some point forcing google to do the right thing and unlock 5G for everybody.

Question wifi calling / volte / 5g in unofficial countries

hey guys,
did anyone manage to get those option working? (wifi calling / volte / 5g) in any country other then the 12 official supported countries?
i'm living in the middle east and i got the us version of pixel 6.
these options are disabled here. it's an issue from google's side, as they worked for me on my previous samsung phone. network provider said there is nothing they could do about it.
Only by rooting you can enable VoLTE but don't expect 5g until 2026
Google is blocking both. VoLTE is possible by Magisk module, 5G isn't
i see... thank you for answering.
i'v filed a feedback to google anyhow, maybe they will consider it if many people will complain
I've found a thread with instructions for enabling 5G for Pixel 4/5. But we have Exynos modem in 6th generation so they are not working... Is it a big deal to change Samsung modem settings?
So how can i enable Wifi Calling and Volte with Magisk can anybody help me?
I used this one from this thread

What you are asking is illegal and stealing. That is why XDA closed your thread.
It is up to the cell carriers to enable 5g.
XDA and Google has nothing to do with it.
Also social media links are against the XDA rules.

XDA has nothing to do with it, sure, they literally have nothing to do with it.
but Google on the other hand, has lots and lots to do with it.
I for the billion percentages have 5G, i've checked on 2 phones, one has 5G, the other, not.(even talked and went to my carrier for triple verification)
The stupid phone will straight up not even take the risk to turn on the 5G modem while you're scanning for nearby cellular towers(try it on the "automatic select network", in the network(s)).
Go on your phone, open your phone dialer, input "*#*#4636#*#*" (without the quotes), now a menu should pop up named "Testing"(without pressing on the (to)PHONE icon), click on the "Phone information" tab, you should now see lots of information about your cellular and network connectivity, search for the "NR available", if it's False and not True, you cannot use 5G, the modem is locked by software, and who happens to be the developer for this Phone? Google. blame it on Google, they make these stupid discissions, and blame it on others, and continue on. Literally like any other company(plus minus)

Illegal is accusing someone of doing a crime without evidence. it's called defamation I guess.
No it's not up to the cell carriers, check previous Pixel forums.

Question 5G connectivity in non supported countries

Hi to all,
Well I bought the new pix6 just to find out that the connectivity to 5G network's is limited to supported counters end not to other countries beside the selected few.
Is there a way to enable 5G while keeping the phone unrooted? Coming from a M11i that in my area has 600-700Mbit/s coverage to the supposed king of Android that has barley 80Mbit/s is just disappointing. I'm in Croatia and the 5G here is in every activated in every single plan.
Thanks in advance.
Regards Goran
Ask your carrier to support the Pixel 6.
There is no way to enable it even with root unfortunately. Google locked it and they will not unlock it.

Do you have a link to support your statement?
Look at this:
5G on your Pixel
Check your 5G availability
pixel.withgoogle.com
If you choose other as country you see this:
At this time, unlisted countries have no selected 5G carrier networks that work with Pixel phones.
There also quite a lot of topics in the pixel community like this one discussing the problem:
Pixel 6 : 5G problem Europe - Google Pixel Community

Thanks for your reply.
But I do not see anything about Google being at fault.
I am just assuming that it is the government and carriers fault of said countries.
Well if the 5G phones of every other big android manufacturer like samsung, xiaomi, oneplus, motorola and so on are working great almost everywhere and pixels only work in select countries for me it is pretty clear who is to blame. In addition to that the modem inside is the same samsung modem used in the samsung s20 series and it clearly supports needed bands to work in much more than 13 countries in whole world. There are enough operators in europe present in several countries and using same equipment and bands in these like A1, T-mobile, Vodafone, Orange and so on. If it is operator's fault what is the logic phone to work from one side of the border and not from the other? To sum it up - if anything works in 100 countries and do not work in 10 you should check these 10 countries. If anything works in 10 countries and does not work in 100 it is device problem. I have not seen a single report from person in unsupported country who managed to activate 5G.
To add some history - older google 5G phones behave the same way. They are locked to support 5G in only certain countries. In these models though this is done via simple configuration files which can be edited if you have root. After that 5G works flawlessly in every country. Unfortunately for pixel 6 this does not work.

Danm Google not even Apple did **** like that...
take a look on Pixel5GBounty Telegram group, we're collecting money for anyone who would unlock 5G wherever the modem supports it. $290 for now
why is it that not even custom ROMs can't get the 5G working on "non-supported" carriers? Is it somewhere in the kernel? or what am I missing here? I'm android noob, so sorry if this is obvious... Thank you
I asked my provider about this 5g, and they told me that it's not the phone, but the provider that blocks the 5g connection.
My provider is fastweb, they also use windtre network in some areas. I have a 5g included plan, but I cannot have 5g connection.
They told me that there is a list of compatible devices, and this list is different from provider to provider. Simply, Fastweb has no intention to enable 5g on google pixel devices.
TIM is giving 5g to whatever device, but just for a short period of time (to sponsor their 5g network, I suppose).
Vodafone list of compatible devices is different from fastweb.
Iliad, also has a different list of compatible devices (Iliad gives 5g to pixel5)
So, no reason to blame on google...
well, I'm from Czech Republic, and I have Vodafone... Went to ask them about this issue, they told me they don't block 5G on any device, so if I have new enough SIM (I have e-SIM, so don't have to worry about that), the 5G should work, if the device supports it. Now since Pixel isn't officially available in Czech Republic, it's not working...
Getting 5G working on my Pixel would be good enough reason for me to start rooting and checking other ROMs again (last Android I rooted was I think KitKat ).

Same issue with T-mobile CZ. Said me that this is the problem of google, VoLTE working, nothing else. Have to say this is my last google phone.
It's very obvious google is whitelisting the carriers that they allow 5G access.
Pixel 6's 5G is unavailable on my carrier but it works with Google Fi sim roaming.
VoLTE is also disabled here. But I managed to just turn the switch on with root and it just works (with some extra battery drain)
And No. There's no way to unlock 5G on blocked carriers yet. Might be available in future if the bounty succeeds.
I contacted Google Support about one of the 5H networks in Ireland not being supported & they said they only support the networks listed here - https://pixel.withgoogle.com/5G/
Nothing that the network provider can fix. The support person told me to send feedback from the phone requesting support for the missing network which I do every week although I suspect I'm wasting my time.
There's also a very long thread on the Google support forum here.
Well, I've rooted mine and I'm squeezing the **** out of him right now, little rusty since I've done nothing for few years now ...but did find some articles about restricting and un restricting 5G inside Android 12 (https://developer.android.com/refer...rierConfigManager#CARRIER_NR_AVAILABILITY_NSA.) and related sub articles.
Worst case scenario it will finish in the garage, as for now garage it is.

Google does not care if you buy from them. The Pixel 6 is not sold in your country anyway.
It is your government and carrier that is at fault. Your rules and laws are stopping Google from selling in your region.

Here in the US, the FCC dictates if an electronic product can be sold.
Google is in the business to make money, they are not selling you there product for spite is Ludacris to think so.
