Ok, so on dec 1, 2016, i composed a very long, very articulate, very impassioned email which i cannot recreate. I know i sent that email from the gmail app just after 7pm us mountain time. I checked back several hrs later to discover that it was not in my sent folder, or my drafts (well, a small portion of it was - saved when i copy pasted the beggining from a messaging app), nor my trash. I do not know hay many pages it would have been, as i typed it on my phone (zte elite) but it was long.
I know there has to be a way to recover this, but i know nothing about debugging androids. I suspect this screenshot might be a good place to start (ok, somebody tell me how to upload an image) it is a capture of folder in my phone titled " phone/zemail/5db_att " with 7 files in it, all dated 12/1/16
Also tell me if i should post this anywhere else on here. Thanks!

Can anyone tell me if there is a way to default Pocket Outlook to display First Name, Last Name.
I have set all my contact on the PC to First, Last, but if I create a new contact on the XDA or I edit the name of any contact on the XDA it reverts to Last, First.
I have tried this on a Dell Axim X5 (PPC2003) and this seems to be the same.
Thanks
Matt
Yep got that same prob!! But I got around it by saving the contact to SIM then copy to phone and from there add any additional details.
Hope this helps.

If anyone has an easy answer to this one, I'd be very pleased.
I've been fighting with this one for months.

This will work but as soon as you edit any part of the name in the address book it reverts to Last, First again and you have to repeat the process again!
When you sysn to Outlook 2002/XP go to contact select the contact name you want to edit their is an option called "File as" which is drop down menu. it will display the First AND Last Name . Save AND Close repeat step for other contacts.
Hope this helps
This doesn't help when you add a new contact on the XDA, it files it LAST, FIRST, until you get a chance to sync the XDA and change it back in Outlook.

Oh boy, my favorite Pocket Outlook annoyance, one of many, since I use the GroupWise 6.5 client with IntelliSync to synchronize. What can I say: masochism, a way of life?
Anyway, I solved it by cutting the last name and appending that to the first name for all (250-300 ) my contacts. Only takes one night and is a real good practise for getting used to the touchscreen.
I have searched on a lot of forums, and only 1 tip can be read time after time: get a different PIM, even if you don't have the issue we're discussing right now.
Really, why Microsoft didn't put an option to change the View in there will probably never cease to amaze me

I understand your point but it all depends how often you sysnc your XDA and use Outlook 2000/XP as you PIM . Well it's one soultion..... :?

The best solution for me is to change all contacts to First Name only containing all full name, but as I am a lazy software engineer I wrote some software to do it. I also wrote it to change any (UK) mobile number it finds to +44 at the start so the caller ID appears when then send sms.
I don't have an ftp site so if anyone wants to e-mail me I can send them a copy - runs on the PC with Office 2000 or greater installed and you can preview what changes it will do before altering anything.
Usual disclaimer applies - Don't blame me and make a back up of your contacts in Outlook before you start.

Hi all,
I've updated to the latest Vodafone Rom available on HTC's website (3.14.161.3) and since then then the T9 Add My Word feature no longer works properly.
If I add a new word to the dictionary, 1 of 3 things will happen:
1) Remember it until I open up a new SMS
2) Remember it until I turn the phone off and on (did call this soft reboot previously)
3) Not remember it at all
As you can imagine, it's getting annoying now as I honestly thought, "This must be a ROM update issue, I'm sure there'll be a fix soon". I rang HTC support and of course it's the usual, "Not heard of this before".
I've Googled and searched and I can see that some people have the problem but not as much as I expected. I can only imagine that the problem is experienced more if you use the phone pad style keyboard rather than the full Qwerty.
From what I can find, there's a T9xxx.db in the root of Windows directory that get's updated when you add a new word. But when the dictionary recalls words that it knows, it refers to a T9xxx.db file that's located in a T9 FOLDER within the Windows directory. I've reinstalled the update 3 times since December and each time the feature doesn't work.
In simple terms, it's the same as you picking an item up with your right hand, place the item in your right pocket but when you want it, you use your left hand to go to your left pocket and wonder why it's not there.
Any idea when this can be fixed? Can it be fixed? Is anyone else experiencing this using the phone pad style keyboard layout?
Thanks for any help given.

this has always happened. At least it has for me, on all winmo roms since O2 1.42 rom. It used to do it on my old xda2i too.

Eeek! I think I've got soft reboot confused with something else. What I mean is when I turn the phone off and on.
yep me too,
maybe im confusing the save words from whilst typing, , when you add a word, and the xtmywords or whatever its called app?
ive never added the words using the .exe in /windows/ , i do it when typing in int exp or sms, and come across a word, add it there and then, but yea, a soft reset( reboot ) and the added words are gone.
One of the reasons i learned how to cook was so i could hard add words to the HTCMDB.txt file pre flash.
Perhaps the app works differently than adding from the keyboard?
I've added words from within the SMS and from eT9MyWords from the root directory and still it doesn't remember words added after a reboot. Before the update it was working just fine.
I added all I liked through both within the SMS and eT9MyWords and all the words were remembered after a reboot.
So I dug around a little more and found one person who had a similar thing and as far as I can tell they never resolved it.
There's a folder within Windows called ET9IMEDB (\My Device\Windows\ET9IMEDB\). Within this folder are two files, ET9ASDB and ET9RUDB. What used to happen as far as I know, when you add words either within the SMS or using the eT9MyWords.exe, one of the two files within \My Device\Windows\ET9IMEDB\ folder would have the words added to it. When you then type a new SMS, the saved words are recalled from one of these two files.
The 3.14 update now adds the new words to a file outside of the ET9IMEDB folder to a file called ET9RUDBW. But when you type a new SMS, it looks at the files within the \Windows\ET9IMEDB\ folder instead of the ET9RUDBW file outside of \Windows\ET9IMEDB\.
So basically if function is add new word it goes here:
\My Device\ET9RUDBW
If function is recall added new words, it looks here:
\My Device\Windows\ET9IMEDB\
instead of:
\My Device\ET9RUDBW
Question is, how do I point it to look at the file it updates and not one that it used to update?
as an alternative, THIS method lets you add not just words but sentences (with spaces) too. Great for hard coding addresses.
its not one-word-at-a-time friendly, but useful none the less.
Post 6 of THIS thread has more notes on putting whole sentences into htcmdb.txt

Ah cool, I'll give that a go. Although it would be nice that Add My Word worked as it did before. Still, nice little work around until I grab a different phone or a patch/fix comes out.
Thank you
Hey there,
Had to pay my bill today online and I noticed that there was an outstanding message.
Message is :::
"Picture Mail online storage is being discontinued 4/30/12. It's important you move the pictures and videos you want to keep to your PC or to your favorite photo or social networking site before 4/30/12. Visit sprint.com/picturemail for more information." ::::
So, just incase you have any stored on there you might want to d/l them to a local source when you can. I already checked mine and lost a whole bunch bc it seems their doing it little by little. Was just giving everyone a heads up so to speak. Honestly, not really at all bothered by this as I didn't like the fact that all pictures messages were saved no matter what you ( the customer ) chose. If you ask me its a good thing. I didn't like big brother always knowing what has been received nor sent. LOL
Also, for those of you who didn't know, if you did have a picture message but made an accidental delete, you still have a chance to retrieve them now before it gets to late. ( if it was during the last 45 days or somn like that)
Anywayz, sure a lot of people received the message but just putting it out there for those that didn't. Hope it helps ...
Z ..........
Good find. I didn't realize I had a bunch of saved pictures on there. Now they're safe and sound on my phone.
Thanks!
Didn't realize that people actually used that. Don't think I even have log in credentials for it.
Where can I access this from my phone?
I had to look this up also as I have never accessed it before. I didn't have any photos on the site.
LINK
is there a way to see pics i received?
While none are saved unless you personally do it, it tracks every picture mail you ever sent or received for a few months.
I used it a lot since I flash new ROMs and sometimes forget to save the images.

just use your normal browser and if you do not have your login info, hit the " no send me password" and they will send it to you via text or email. ( not sure what you have set up for notifications) and then logon as normal. This is from what I've been told but maybe someone that needs to do this can confirm?
thanx,
Z ..........
I went on that site last year and it had pics I uploaded way back when I was using the Sanyo 8100 10 years ago...so yeah..while you're on a different OS and time where sprint uses mms..back then they didn't...so all those picture mail pics are there.
I was looking in my phone for logs (I have problems with a not allways responsive screen) when I found a Qustodian log. The strange thing is that I cant see this app anywhere in my phone, never the less it seems to send informations to Qustodian... Well I wanted to get rid of this app, but i cant find it!
I have have been around Google Store, but I cant find the app there either! (I leave in Denmark and the Google store has Danish interface)
Here is the log:
Well I cant post the log because This forum states that I have to write 10 posts before I am allowed to post outside links, and the log contains links. Its a fair rule, I have no problems with that! (I hate spam in forums too!!)
But the log contains MY informations, dates, links to Qustodian, and activities done/not done..
If anybody is interested in it, Ill send the file!
I dont like to be spyed on without my knowledge, and I suspect this darn app to freeze my screen (Not sure) Can anybody find out what to do?
My phone is an Asus Padfone New Infinity (A86)
The log is named "Qustodian.log" and another one is named "Qustodian.log.lck" The last one is empty...
Thanks for any help!
Hi,
I need help please and I am willing to donate $5 to the person who will find the solution to my problem. I'm sorry, in case talking about money is against this forum, but it would be just a mere donation!
I need to delete messages I sent, years ago, on whatsapp to some people and I need those messages to be deleted for everyone.
Messages are dated years 2017 - 2018, and I need them to be deleted for everyone, so that, those people cannot see anymore what I wrote.
I use android os.
If I try to delete those messages I only get the "delete for me" option, which is useless. I want the "delete for everyone" option to appear, so that those messages will be deleted on the other people's phones.
I use an old android os, 5 (i think), but in order to have a bigger screen I'm now using whatsapp on bluestacks.
Can anyone please help me?
Do i need to root android? Or in this case bluestacks ( i know how to do it) ?
I found a method on youtube but I dont understand if it works. Am I allowed to paste the link here, so I can show you guys?
Right now I'm sending messages to my second number to see if this method works, but the messages dated two days ago have not been deleted, the messages dated today have been , so I am confused.
The other problem is that whatsapp detects when i change the date and time and i travel to the past, so it is tricky.
Donation will happen via paypal probably.
Please find a way to solve my problem.
Ask me for more details if you need more information.
This is not a race and I am willing to split the donation, so please let's all cooperate with each other instead of competing.
Regards
