So I was gifted a Verizon Samsung Galaxy S4. I decided to factory reset it and wipe all data/cache. That was successful and I booted into the phone. I got stuck on the Samsung reactivation lock page. I had trouble logging, and there was an SSL error (caused by the unset date/time). I decided just to flash the stock rom, but this only caused more trouble.
I went into download mode, connected the USB, started Odin (tested with version 3.04, 3.09, 3.10, and 3.12), and tested 3 roms from these two pages:

I've used different USB cables, USB ports, versions of Odin, roms, I tried using a pit file, disabling my antivirus, but nothing is working. If I try to boot the phone normally or go to the volume up menu it redirects me to this page: http://androidcentral.us/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/Firmware-upgrade-error.png
Verizon and Kies (they were both off during the Odin flash attempts) are unable to see the phone in download mode and the error page above.
Some additional information. In the top left of the device it displays this:

I had a friend give me his cracked S4 and I just swapped out the parts. Everything is working fine now, can a mod close this?

So my friend was trying to fix the wifi on his Note while on Sky Rom (4.3), but, for some reason he happened to have clicked a link to the wrong section and was in the n7100 (international) section. He used Odin to flash the MJ5 bootloader which is the international version. Now his phone will only bootloop with the N7100 boot screen appearing. We are not able to access recovery but we can get to download mode. Once we got to download mode I have tried flashing the PIT file, root66, and the official VRAMC3. Each attempt without a PIT file causes this

I went through this last month and check these things:
- Try a different USB cord
- Try a different USB port
- Disable your antivirus
- May have to reboot your computer
When I softbricked a few weeks ago I went through this process for the first time, and I found I had to keep trying over and over but it finally ended up working.
Remember to unlock your bootloader after this process - which I did not and had to redo everything after rooting and flashing and getting the Verizon discovered unauthorized software etc.
Also, I wonder if this is part of the issue, while in download mode I get "PRODUCT NAME: GT-N7100" instead of sch-i605, could this be part of the issue?
And thanks for the ideas Darbylonia, I tried those and even different computers and still no luck.

Did you try looking through the top stickied post about how to recover from a soft brick? I would go there and see if the info helps and post there. I do think it is strange about the product name but there's got to be a fix so keep on...
I tried to install cm on to my rwc sgh-1337m but it failed halfway through the download so i then tried to reflash and older 4.2.2 rom that i know worked on this device before but this time I kept getting fail(auth) in odin (3.07 & 3.09). I tried a different rwc sgh-i337m rom it didn't fail but it got stuck on the samsung splash screen the last time I tried to reflash I checked nand erase all (I read a couple sources that said it might help) but that did nothing. Before I tried to put cm on I had root with kt sgs4 kernel and stock touchwiz. Any suggestions there's still a year contract with rogers on this phone so I obviously don't want to have a bricked phone.
if this helps the roms I tried to flash were:
I337MVLUAMDJ_I337MOYAAMDJ_I337MVLUAMDJ
I337MVLUEMK6_I337MOYAEMK6_I337MVLUEMK6
I also still have the kernel is not seandroid enforcing and warranty bit kernel in the top left when booting.

Hi
Please can someone help me??
I downloaded this file (canada version of lollipop for SM-P900):
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/53868/P900UEU1COH2_P900XAC1COH2_XAC/
I used Odin 3.09 to try to install the file, and it said failed. Now when I try to power it up I get "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies and try again".
When I connect it to Kies, Kies says it's not a compatible device. I know it is though, because I successfully connected in to Kies before I started doing all this.
I can still however enter download mode, but can't enter recovery mode (Power + Vol up + Home).
Thanks a lot
On the tablet screen, in download mode, it says:
ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME: SM-P900
CURRENT BINARY: Samsung Official
SYSTEM STATUS: Official
Secure Download : Enabled
KNOX WARRANTY ISSUE VOID: 0 (0x0000)

The message I get in Odin is:

Thank you
I used Odin to flash back to the UK version of kitkat from Sammobile with no problems...
Any idea, from the Odin info, why the other one didn't work?
Thanks
Another update for anyone that's reading this/interested....
The Netherlands version of lollipop worked (http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/49414/P900XXU0BOF2_P900OXA0BOF2_PHN/).
The canadian one didn't, no idea why...
I had a n8010 with a custom ROM flashed into it and it was operating Android 4.1.2. In order to be able to receive the latest updates and revert to the original ROM (which I did not back up at the time) I tried flashing with Odin 3.12 after booting the tablet into download mode. However, the process failed and the Odin log is as follows:

<ID:0/003> Removed!!
I tried a second pass and it also failed in the options tab only "Auto Reboot" and "F. Reset Time" were clicked and AP type was ticked for the ROM ending with "tar.md5". I think my tablet is in the state what is called soft brick, how can I recover it and install the default stock ROM?
The device also has an SD card and when I unplug it Odin is stuck at "SetupConnection" step; I think this is an important observation. The Odin mode screen has the following information:
ODIN MODE
PRODUCT MODE: GT-N8010
CURRENT BINARY: Samsung Official ---Yet it still refuses to update so I attempted all of this.
SYSTEM STATUS: Custom
AP SWREV: A2
EDIT: After removing and inserting the SD card Odin was able to perform an installation of the stock OS. I hope it is a clean install and still have no idea why these problems occurred.
Thanks in advance

Summary
1. Checked if USB Debugging on
2. Preceded to use CF Auto Root to root
3. Downloaded: system apps remover, root checker, root browser, and greenify in the play store.
Problem
I used system app remover to take out some sprint bloat-ware and apps, but doing so caused the device to kick into a soft brick. I might have deleted some core system files, not sure.
Solutions Attempted
1. Using the usual tricks, I tried to use Odin to flash stock firmware, however, I get the error message above and restart.
2. KIES and Samsung Smart Switch, don't connect to this phone.
3. Devices in recovery modes say ADB & SD Card apply update are disabled.
Can anyone help me out? Links to guides, of similar nature are helpful! Also, can someone help me find a good site to download the .tar.mdf files? For the Note 4 firmware; Sammobile is very slow.
I have a similar problem
Please how did you know the right firmware to download. Mine is on bootloop and I don't know the right firmware to download for ODIN. Smart Switch and Kies are not working for me too.
