If chosen to, Android can download apps that are linked to your Google account.

I'm not already sign in to my Google account yet. In fact, i've never download that apps before with my Google account. But i've already fix it. I'm freeze the 'Download', 'Download Manager', and 'Remix App Cloud'. No more strange apps downloading until now. Thank you all for help and reply.
This is what i mean. Forcing downloading and installing apps in background without notification.

@fahmibarnes
Remix OS for PC does NOT download any unwanted apps by itself, without your request.
At first boot, if you have internet connection, it will show a screen with recommended apps - by default it has few of them pre-selected. If you don't untick them and continue with the process, then the apps will be downloaded in the background.
I'm pretty sure that's the case in your situation, since you said you haven't added Google account yet.
Remix OS only shows app ads in the app drawer, but doesn't install anything you didn't request it to install.
You froze Download and Download Manager apps. These are system apps which are required for normal system use while utilizing internet access.
I highly recommend to unfreeze them or you won't be able to download anything with browsers or other apps.

I totally forgot about the first boot recommended apps page... Is there a list of apps that can be safely disabled?
I would like to remove as many apps as possible without affecting the stability of Project ROC.
@moman2000
You'd pretty much have to go with the intuition and the info on standard, core Android system apps list.

Well, i know. But that the only thing i can save my data plan now and that's why i ask. :crying:
And i totally forgot what in the first boot. All i can remember is a welcome and tutorial, i think. Also, i found in Settings that my wifi can set as metered connection. But the os immediately restart by itself. Also on data cellular settings. Thank you.
Get a Firewall app and block internet access for AppDrawer.apk
Thanks all for the help. I don't know how that happen in the first i installed RemixOS for the firs time on my computer and i just reinstall twice problem solved. Now my problem is brightness dead after remix os logo, cheers ?

If you go to Definitions, Applications do you see the application in the list? If so, just try uninstalling it. Also, check the "running processes / services" to see if it's active or merely installed and with a shortcut icon in the launcher.
Another thing to try is going to the Market/Google Play and checking "My Applications" with the menu key to see if it's in there and can be removed.
No can't see it anywhere. I can only see the short cut on home screen.

Try using Astro file manager to check system/app. You dont need root to just look, only to be able to change the root files.
if i were you i wont mind installing my stuff again and
1: would have reflashed using odin
2: factory reset my device. (obviously you will be going this path i assume)
factory reset will wipe your phone and internal storage.
i would remove the sdcard as im sure tht is the culprit and has some nasty stuff.

Android is based on linux
Linux DON'T have virus
Will android have virus?
It makes me laugh when people says they use android antivirus. (no offense)
That's not a virus dude, just be sure you dont install untrusted apps with suspicious permissions (like connect to internet permission, or superuser, on apps that dont need it.. now thats suspicious ). Android "viruses" are just apps wich leak your personal information, as credit card numbers, passwords, etc. Not like windows, wich I consideer is a virus itself.
What to do?, dont download unknown apps, and download a permissions manager, so you can check out whats going on. For now a factory reset should fix the issue. If is on other place, then just root and flash another rom.

I have and always have the his for installing from untrusted sources unticked. I also have background data unticked to saves battery. Auto update is off because not all updates are good. I'm not saying it is definitely a virus but the way This app has appeared from thin air; it definitely is suspicious.
I've never rooted or flashed this phone so no chance of superuser.

It started yesterday and went so bad that i had to turn data off.
Today i flashed the rom again after complete wipe yet it started, so i install network monitor and it showed somthing is downloding.
Right now it has stoped, but before after stopping it started again.
Round 100 mb in last 15 mins.

this is getting annoying, just flashed lpD from scratch and yet again its happening again, what the hell is downloading here
Use other network monitoring apps like 3g watchdog and check the showing informations is correct.
also you can check with your Network provider, whether this truely happens or not.
Are you allowing google to sync your account? It may be downloading all your apps in the background (Or updating them)
I never tick any of the options after flashing/when setting the phone up...no background downloads

err...why?
Sounds like your Play store updating your apps in the background. Put data or wifi on and open play store, press menu key and go to 'my apps'. If they're downloading click on the 'x' on the top right of the screen to 'stop all'.
You can also check settings --> Data Usage to see whats eating your data, its a feature of ICS
by the way how many apps u got????
what does the built in data usage app reports?? if the problem persists still after a full wipe then it may be (may be) a malware. so if you are sure its not because of sync or some other app then you can try formatting data, system along with your internal sd and external sd from cwm before flashing a new rom.
i agree with everyoen above. it might be google just syncing information
Ok here what happens, when ever I flash a new stock ROM after wipe, right after I log in using google, it start happening.
No its not my apps
As you can see its not play store either.
I checked it multiple times now.
Exact 90MB got downloaded every time.

Ok I'm trying it again, will full wipe, remove sdcard, flash using Odin, lets see what happens
No nothing changed, removed sdcard, full wiped, flash new lpd using Odin.
Right after I sign in though I have UN tick the auto restore option, it started and right nite its at 40 mb, it will stop at 90mb.
I'm assuming something got backup to google and now every time I sign in, it comes back like the contacts.
Is there any way I know what and where its storing the filles.
Does any one know a way to wipe google account from their servers, like the screen shot.
This is wiping some stuff not all, as after signing in, I don't get my last apps or stored passwords anymore but that 90mb still comes.
Dear friends;
I have a question about that stock apps being installed automatically after flashing a new rom, where is these apps located because I want to make my own apps to be installed automatically after the flash.
now I'm using backup program to do this but I prefer that auto install way.
thanks in advance
forgive my bad english

First and foremost WRONG SECTION.... U think asking question in Original android development section is rite??
BTW stock apps means system apps only... The apps u install from outside is third party apps... U asking abt the apps u installed before or installed after flashing?? Before means obvi it ll be in SD card.. After means it be ll in ROM...

I'm talking about this
that does nothing.
that screen only comes up, when you flashed a stock ICS 4.0.3 rom without wipe. it does not actually install apps, it just scans app folders like /system/app/ and /data/app for already installed apps to integrate in the launcher. maybe it also checks compatibility with android 4. but at the moment that screen shows up, all apps are already installed.
it is just a marketing thingy to pretend to perform app migration after upgrading the OS. if you upgrade through kies and had auto-restart checked and were unable to get to recovery to perform a factory reset prior to the first boot, you will see that screen appear after the first boot "installing" all your apps. then if you reboot into recovery, factory reset the phone and reboot, you will see it only "installs" the few stock apps and all user apps are gone.
this migration, together with not wiping your phone when flashing, will make it slow and unstable over time. it is the same thing with a windows pc. of course one could upgrade the OS, say, from vista to 7, and installed programs and settings might get migrated but in the end, everybody who knows, what they are doing, will still format c: prior to installing a new OS and install the programs afterwards for them to run perfectly.
and all stock apps, that survive a factory reset, wipe are in fact system apps in /system/app
they can still disappear when flashing a new rom.
your best bet is to backup all your apps with titanium backup pro and after flashing a rom or performing a factory reset, you select batch and restore all user apps + data. that way, you can simply install 100+ apps with a few clicks, and their respective settings (scores, customizations...) will be restored as well, which would not be the case with the way you suggested.
so, not only is your way not practical, it is also next to impossible. and it would make no sense, crumming all user apps in the 512MB system partition and leaving the 2GB data partition empty.

sure I'll not put my all apps in the system/app. I made a rom and put my apps in the data/app and after flashing I got all of my applications installed and working too except some of google apps like google+ and drive. I think that screen shows us it's installing the apps not just scanning, because I searched the rom for these apps I didn't find it, so I think it's packed somewhere and I hope to find it
I am having this problem with my phone: Lenovo S650
The virus shows different ads. (Screenshots are given in the bottom)
It also used to install different apps again and again even after uninstalling them,
but then I searched apk files and found 10 apks. I deleted them and then it start showing only ads.
But before I used to have only one ad and now I am having multiple different type of adds and the virus install an app "DeadlyRote". I didn't found its apk...
I think it is attached with ROM because I did the Factory Reset with removing sd card and deleting extra files manually. But it was no use.
What should I do? should I root it and change the ROM? If yes then tell me how...

Now I am having another problem: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help/lenovo-s650-stuck-logo-flashing-rom-t3274276
Hello everyone,
I'm using several non-root samsung devices (S8, S9, S10, S20) and I've been removing everything google related. On purpose, I've removed many features/services (NFS, GPS, etc) and I only want them to act as normal phones. I also test them to see how they behave when connected to a wifi, to see if they try to connect to a remote system. Based on my limited testing, the phones use amazon AWS to get version information for samsung updates.
Unfortunately, the S10 and S20 also constantly connect to google at
172.217.169.164:443
216.58.206.163:80
But I can't figure out which packages are to blame. So far, I've uninstalled everything related to google (framework, play store, services, apps, etc). Anyone knows how to figure out which apps are trying to communicate to google?
Thank you.
PS:
here is my blacklist, in case anyone wants to take a look:
https://gitlab.com/samcleaner/samcleaner/-/blob/master/assets/blacklist.json
I have reason to believe that the package "com.sem.factoryapp" is the one constantly accessing 172.217.x.x.
Still not sure about the other IP address, but if pointed to by a browser it comes up with google.com search page.
Hi mate , in my case I installed netguard to block the Google stuff from accessing the internet,,,
I have a question since you published this script you may have some knowledge about adb :
Can we backup a non rooted phone's settings using ADB ?
I want to backup all my settings in the settings app, and the debloated apps as well, because it's a real hassle to go all over from the start if we reset the phone.

@Maybeyou using recovery mode, you can backup user data, it backup all your apps, 2FA apps, settings, etc.. even sd card encryption key in case it's encrypted or you use the extended internal memory option using sd card on android 6
it will generate several high size files on your sd card, and you'll be able to restore you data using the restore function
next time, open your own thread though.

Of course you can backup a phone by means of ADB: this has the advantage the backup gets stored on your PC's disk space - you define the location., whereas Android's stock recovery allows you to backup the phone only to a SDHC-card inserted what must have a storage capacity of >= phone's internal storage size.

Sorry bro for asking my question here in your thread, I still don't know how to backup settings and the debloated apps :
In the non rooted Samsung with android 9 stock recovery, there's "apply update from adb" options and it says " adb sideload" when selected , but I don't know what to do from adb on PC, and another option " apply update from sd card" . Is that what you referring to by using recovery? Can you show me how to proceed please
sorry again for asking here

Thank you very much sir, I did a duckduckgo search yesterday ? but didn't found anything useful
Anyway thank you , I'm gonna try to backup right now ?
Update after backing up my non rooted Samsung by using " Adb backup -apk all -shared .....".
I had to reset my phone so I tried " adb restore backup.adb " it didn't restored my debloated version of the firmware, it only restored the apps that I did install + medias like photos and videos .
Is there any solution for that deprecated command ?
